Leaving No Traces (A Commissario Scala Mystery in Rome) by P.J. Mann – Review by Amanda Swindle
Leaving No Traces by P. J. Mann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
While Leaving No Traces is book five in the Commissario Scala Mystery in Rome series, it is a stand alone book and you do not need to read the previous books to understand the story. I do recommend reading them, to follow character development and better understand the history of Detective Scala (but again, that is not needed). This time around, Detective Scala is investigating a woman who was having an affair with a married man (while she was also married) and has gone missing. The woman was last seen buying cigarettes at a gas station and all that was left behind was her blood stained car. As the detective digs into the case, he soon realizes there was more to the woman than he originally thought, and more suspects began to surface. Was she trapped in a bad marriage and escaping into another relationship, or did the husband have something to do with it all? Where did she go, and who is to blame? Leave it all to Detective Scala to solve the mystery, but not without many twists and turns along the way!
