Gabbys husband is dying and in a weak moment, she falls into the arms of a blast from the past that results in a pregnancy. After her husband passes; her sons father starts campaigning for governor of Texas and Gabbys ranch owner father is backing him. He convinces Gabby to accept the engagement, keep her sons paternity secret and join the whirlwind campaign. Gabby has to keep her secret to not hurt Richards campaign, Richard has secrets of his own with campaign manager Amanda. Gabby tries to find her way, decide what’s best for her, and her son, and what will make her happy. Good story line and I really enjoyed this book
