Lies - Truth - LoveLies – Truth – Love by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this romance story. The author did a great job with the characters making them relatable and engaging. The chemistry and attraction between Olivia and Ethan is pretty instant but both have had problems with relationships in the past so it is easy to understand why they aren’t wanting to jump into things too fast.
Olivia’s last relationship ended badly. After supporting her partner financially all through his time working towards his chosen career she is devasted when he leaves her. Now she has a wedding to attend and needs a date but there is one thing he needs to have and that is a job. She is not prepared to find herself in the same position as she didn’t before.
Ethan’s past relationship was similar except his partner was just using him for his money. Now he is wary of women wanting him just for his money so when he meets Olivia despite how attracted and intrigued by her he is, he decides to not tell her the full truth. But telling her that he is in between things she assumes he is jobless.
As their connection grows and as much as they try they can’t deny their feelings for each other but what will happen when the lies Ethan had told comes out. Will Olivia be happy that the man she wants to be with is financially secure so doesn’t need to rely on her or will she be angry that he lied to her.
Their story is interesting and full of ups and downs. I can see why Ethan felt the need to lie but I can also see why Olivia reacts the way that she does. How can you trust someone when it turns out the person you thought you knew you actually don’t know at all. I can understand Olivia’s feelings of hurt. She isn’t a gold digger so she isn’t interested in spending his money it was the fact that he lied to her.
I felt every emotion of these characters and while I understand both of their reactions and apprehensions I was hoping they would get their HEA. Will Olivia be able to forgive the lie? Or will that lie mean she won’t be able to trust Ethan? Will this break what potentially could have been a lasting loving relationship?
