This is great second book in the Capture the Light Series. It is the first book I have read and I really enjoyed it. In fact I plan on going back and reading the first book in the series as I really enjoyed the author writing and story telling.
This is a sweet romance but with elements of family drama, as well as a journey of discovery for our main character Claire. She is such a likeable character. She loves her job in the family bakery and she really wants to branch out on her own but the thing holding her back is her mother and family commitment. So she stays working hard at the family business. Until a wedding changes her outlook on life. At the wedding she meets the brides brother Flynn. With their attraction being instant Flynn encourages Claire to take a chance. Flynn will only be around for a week so could she live adventurous and take the opportunity for a little adventure of her own? However things arent going to be so simple as just throwing caution to the wind and taking a risk. With secrets that are threatening to be revealed Claire could be risking it all.
This book is definately a journey of self discovery as she learns more about herself, what she really wants to do with her life and she discovers just how amazing love can be.
I was completely invested in Claire and Flynn’s story. The author sets it in a beautiful landscape of Ireland which made it even more of a romantic and magical feel. I really can’t wait to read more from this series and this author

This was a great book to read with both of my kiddos! I have an 8-year-old and 12-year-old, and we really enjoyed reading this together. It was a perfect fit for my youngest as he sometimes gets bored by chapter books because he still enjoys the pictures. We were pleased to find that there are lovely illustrations that broke up paragraphs and chapters to keep our interest. It’s fun to hear how everyone’s imagination works as we read through and played detective on our own! I highly recommend this fun and engaging story that is easy to follow, and we can’t wait to see what the next book brings!

Whispered Surrender is a collection of two great reads about twin sisters Sasha and Marenah. I find it crazy how they both fell for guys who were best friends but at different times without even knowing eachother.
Wayward is a book about Jay and Sasha. As soon as Jay spotted Sasha on a recording he wanted to get to know her. There are so many moving parts in these books and they are full of fast paced action. Jay is running a team of guys protecting very important clients. Sasha is here In The states as a ballet dancer but she has very important family weather they acknowledge her and her twin or not. Jay and Sasha get to know one another and Jay is trying to keep Sasha safe. She falls for him but doesn’t really believe his feelings are real.
undercover is the second book which is about Matt and Marenah. Matt is undercover trying to get some information from some very important high profile guys in the mafia. His cover is blown and he’s in the basement of a bar beating beaten when he wakes up and there’s a beautiful blonde tied up next to him. He doesn’t know much about Marenah but he vows to help her escape and keep her safe. Matt and Jay are part of the same team and when Matt’s team is there causing a distaction, both Matt and Marenah are able to get away but they are taken away separately. Undercover confused me a bit at the end after everything happened and Marenah had to go back with Scottie and clear up some paperwork. Is Scottie one of the good guys or is he dirty like so many others. These were both great reads. Just like all the other books by this author, I loved them!

Wicked Ends is the 8th and final book in the Hidden Valley Elite series. It picks up where Wicked Games leaves off, finishing the story of Shane and Winter. I’m so sad this series is over, as I have loved every bit of it, and am so invested in the characters. But I am happy with the way it ended, and glad the author gave us a well rounded epilogue. Shane and Winter were in a precarious situation at the end of the last book, and I was curious where things would go. There was so much going on in this book, and I didn’t expect much of it. I’m glad we got the full story of Winter’s childhood drama. The supporting characters in this book and series are wonderful. This series would make a great TV series- think Riverdale… teenage drama and a perfect friend group where everyone gets along and is dating each other. I hope the author is working on a new series, because my heart is hurting at the conclusion of this series.

I was excited to get to dive into another Cat Treadgold story featuring the O’Connell family! The star of this story is David, who has just returned from Africa. Maddie soon realizes that David isn’t exactly a free man to pursue so she sets her sites on Kilo. Who will win out in the end?

Wicked Ends by Isla Vaughn is book eight in the hidden valley elite series, as well as the second installment in Shane and Winters story. This book was everything I needed and more in terms of wrapping things up. There was SO MUCH happening but I’m so sad it’s over. The amount of secrets, lies that have been told and believed for years, the pain. My gosh these two kids (young adults) have been through everything. I could not put this book down because I needed to know what truly happened to Winters sister. How Shane is blamed for things he couldn’t have been apart of and just how everything was tied together. Sometimes it’s crazy how small of a world we live in and how people who should mean something in our lives can hurt us the worst. Overall, I’ve loved this series and am content with how things have been laid out. I’ve grown to be quite fond of Isla’s writing and am sad it’s over as I’ve loved all these characters.

A King so Savage is book one in the Savage Duet by April Moran, and WOW WOW WOW! I am a huge lover of dark romance, I love the bad boys, complex characters, and a dark world. This book in a must read for anyone that likes the same. I did not want to put the book down; I was thrown into the world of Ava and Kingston and did not want to leave. Kingston fighting to stay on the top, Ava collateral in the game threatened to be sold foe debt. Ava wants her freedom after being taken, but she has a deep affection and yearning for Kingston’s who wants Avas full surrender. During this, you find out so much about them, you find out what makes them who they are. Again, this dark romance is a great read. Its HOT, its intense, and a page turner. April Moran truly hit it out of the park and I NEED the second book!!!!!!!!!!!

Another great read by Brooke May! Faida is the second book in the Heartstrings series, and it is just as good as Aiko. This is a romance story about one of Cupid’s helpers, Faida and like Cupid’s other sisters, Faida has been given a new assignment to help to someone try to find love again. The thing is, Faida has been helping humans find love for so many centuries and like many of us, she gets to thinking about all of the relationships that didn’t work out. Will this one work out or is it going to be another bust? At one point this particular assignment has Faida wondering what she’s missed and how much more can she do for people and their love lives. I hope that you are able to pick up a copy of this book and enjoy it as much as I did!

This is a fantastic debut novel by an author who clearly has author a penchant for writing. The story is imaginative and captivating and really takes you, ad the reader, on an exciting journey. I really enjoyed reading about Sloane. Her character fit absolutely perfectly with the story and, for me, that just added to the whole experience. Her strength was obvious, even in the face of such challenges. This is a brilliant and engaging story and I cannot wait to see what else this author will produce.

Malayeka is the third book in the Heartstrings series by Brooke May and I have been enjoying this fun and original paranormal series, each book brings more fun, adventure, and romance and to me each one keeps building a bigger picture of the ‘Cupid’ world. Brooke May has crafted a wonderful, fun series, but these books do show us that things don’t always go according to plan. In this book, we accompany Malayeka as she seeks to ensure her mission doesn’t end up in a complete disaster, unfortunately this is something she is all too familiar with. Is she able to right the wrongs, work her cupid magic, and find a way to get a little of redemption along the way? All I can say is pick a copy of this book and find out the answers yourself!

This boom is a great follow up to the first book and I really enjoyed getting to know more about Sparky. She off on another adventure, trying to solve another mystery. The mix of characters in the book is great. It is clearly well thought it and they all add so much to it. The book is really well written and imaginative. The author draws you into the story with ease and keeps your attention right to the end. This is a great addition to the story and I am looking forward to Sparky’s next adventure.

Aiko by Brooke May a sweet and salty read by Brooke May, and it was not what I was expecting, but it ended up being such a great surprise. I don’t like to do things the traditional way and decided to read this book after I had already read the fourth book of the series. I found that I adored Aiko, even during her most annoying times…lol! I found that I warmed up to her, I mean everyone has their run of bad luck, hers just seemed to be worse than others. This was a great story and one that I feel will hook you from the first page and not it won’t let you put it down until the last page. So, if you do decide to pick it up, make sure you have time to fully enjoy it!

This is the fourth book in the series and if you’re like me and didn’t read the previous books…you will be able to understand without the backstories. This is the first one that I have read in this series, and I found it to be such a cute, fast read and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I was really pulled into the idea of Cupid’s helpers and the whole scheme of romance idea that Cupid brings. This story has a good blend of characters that are quick witted, quick tempered, and have truly unique personalities. This book was a really fast read for me as I couldn’t put it down because I needed to know what was going to happen next. I suggest this book if you are looking to be able to sink into your couch, get away from reality for a while, pick this book up and give it a try! I don’t think you will be one bit disappointed!

Hope For a New World is the first book in The Hope Series (Gaia Series) by Renee W. Peek. This is the first book that I have read by Renee Peek, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from one of her stories, but the cover pulled me in, and I figured that I would see what it was about. What I discovered is an original story with quite a bit going on, there are multiple characters, and multiple point of views going on also, which makes the story seem interesting. This is a Sci-fi fantasy, with a bit of a ‘message’ about the environment, and the part we play in it all. So, the setting of the story is over a hundred years into the future, and it depicts the changes that we have brought about to the environment. I appreciated the story and messages it contained, but I did find it difficult to fully connect with some of the characters, because I felt like there was quite a bit going on with each of the characters. I hope that Renee continues to make books in the series which explain each point of view. The only way to find out if your thoughts of this book, is to pick up a copy for yourself and read the book…I don’t think you will be disappointed!

This was the first book I have read by this author but I found it a very enchanting read. This is a YA fantasy adventure. It is fast paced and really interesting. It is a story of family, magical beings, adventure and a young boy discovering who he is and what his destiny is. The main character Elbert is a sweet young boy who always thought he was a normal kid. That is until he starts sprouting feathers and feels a burning sensation that takes over his body. What is happening to him? As he starts to learn more about his magical abilities he needs to learn how to control his magic all the while his mind is being opened up to other magical creatures and beings and are only heard of in stories.
There are some emotional points in the story as we are with him as he tries to work through feelings of grief while still protecting his remaining siblings. This is a moving magical tale of a young man choosing his path while working through emotions and pain that could cloud his judgement. Which path will he choose? And will his choices put the rest of his siblings in danger from creatures he has only just found out existed.
This was a magical read. I was presently surprised by this author’s work and I can’t wait to read more.

Orenda is Book Two in The Latitude Series. It is a dystopian romance with action, suspense, drama, intrigue, tension, family, friendship, loyalty, and betrayal. The book centers around the characters of Gio and Caitlin who have become ambassadors for the ACC in Canada. Their efforts to promote peace and harmony are short lived as an old enemy resurfaces and puts all their work into danger. I loved the writing style and the focus on the First Nations Iroquois belief that all people and natural objects possess a mystical energy. The concept is fascinating and thought provoking. The characters take us on an emotional rollercoaster as we learn about their hopes and dreams, their struggles, and their challenges along the way. The scenes were vividly written and fully immerse you into the story along with the characters.

Lost and Found is Book Nine in the Logan McKenna Mystery Series. It is a crime thriller with action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, murder, danger, lies, and drama. As she delves into the murder she discovers a tangled web of secrets, lies and deceit that slowly turns deadly. I love the character of Logan because she is smart, feisty, determined, and courageous. When the stakes get high, she delves in deeper and does not give up. The book takes some twists and turns that make it impossible to put down. Another great book in this series that kept me reading until the end to find out what happened next.

Lela’s Choice is a standalone romance that follows Lela as she travels from Australia to Malta to look for her missing niece. She’s keen to work independently from her father, but her father has arranged for Hamish to help in her hunt.
This is the second book I’ve read by this author, and I enjoyed it a lot! The author approaches interesting and complicated issues and situations in her books, adding depth to the romance. In Lela’s Choice, we have the challenges of locating a missing person in an unfamiliar country, as well as Lela’s relationship with her father and how that impacts on her connection with Hamish.
The setting in Malta is well-researched and described, so it’s like travelling there by book! It’s fun exploring Malta along with Lela and Hamish.
I’d recommend this to fans of romance with a bit of mystery thrown in, who like books set in interesting destinations. It gets five stars from me!

This book follows David and Maddie through their wild ride of discovering if they will become a couple. This is my favorite book so far in this series. I’m really looking forward to book four. You can definitely read/listen to this book as a standalone but all of the characters are reoccurring and I love seeing how they evolve as the story goes on. It is refreshing that the author does her owe narrating in this series. She knows exactly what was intended in this audio and it shows in her work as a narrator. This is a great listen. I highly recommend this book, series and author/narrator. Excellent Job Cat!

How could she explain an attraction that shouldn’t exist? ~ Ava
This whole entire book has me feeling this way. Kingston is mean, deranged, broken and well, savage. He is the type of character that sees something he wants, and he takes it. There is no price limit, everything and everyone can be bought. Kingston has the funds, the means, and the ability to acquire anything and everything he wants. He wants Ava. So, he takes her. He uses her sleazy brother’s debt as the reason for taking her but throughout this story there is a deeper feeling, a deep fascination that Kingston has with Ava. Ava is all that is good. Is she perfect? Not really but she is close. She is a little naive in the world around her. But I like to think she lives in her own little world, trying to make a good life for herself while not causing harm to others. She is not skilled or even very knowledgeable about the world that her brother and Kingston live in. Crime, greed, violence, death. While she has known of Kingston most of her life, she doesn’t know him, until now. Which brings her much confusion. He has basically kidnapped her from her mundane safe life. And brings out feelings she didn’t know she had.
This author touches on some subjects that may cause questions within the reader. Anger, fear, repulsion, concern, lust, interest, confusion to name a few. This story is violent, sexy in a rough way, and being a romantic at heart I can see the underlying hope for a happily ever after. Even if the HEA means these two characters are far away from each other. This story is the first part of the duet so there is not a HEA …not even a happily ever after for now…
Already starting the 2nd part of this duet because the writing is so addicting.

This is the 4th installment of the echo series and it did not disappoint! It features Lina and Curtis; Curtis witnesses a crime and is then hunted by a mob boss. Lina, who worked for Curtis 2 years previous, is back in Curtis’s inner circle and is set on trying to protect him. They flee the danger, going from country to country, trying to stay safe and alert but at the same time trying to figure out if they can be together. Do they dodge the danger? Do they end up together? Read to find out! Loved it! This author does not disappoint, lots of twists and turns, couldn’t put it down! Highly recommend it!

This is the 4th book of the series and can be read as a stand alone book. However, if you want more details on what is going on; I highly suggest reading them in order. It will help fill in the gaps of background that you will be wanting in the beginning of this book. This book is a spirited tale that is geared for 8-13 year olds but I feel like if the reader likes a hauntingly tale that isn’t super scary this would work for them as well. I enjoyed the book and felt it was an easy read. So, if your child isn’t to terribly into reading but you are trying to encourage them to do so, this book/series might be a good start for you. It has an easy to follow plot. It has relatable characters or characteristics. The characters sure do know how to get into some mischievous situations. This is what makes the book fun. Does the show go on, will they figure out what needs to be done, or will the ghosts do what they set out to do. These thoughts are what will keep any reader turning the pages. I highly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who has a dancer in their life that loves a little mystery. Reviewed by: @bbohls

I Am A Bold Asian Boy is an Inspirational children’s book that my son and I truly enjoyed reading. This is a positive story about culture and being who you are. Being strong, proud, and knowing it’s ok to be different. My son loved the illustrations and told a story along with me. We highly recommend reading this book at any age and we look forward to reading more from this Author.
