Family Ties Family Lies by Jacqueline Boulden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Family Ties Family Lies is a gripping tale of one woman’s quest to find the truth about her family. It is set in a small town that seems quaint on the surface, but appearances can be deceiving. Under the seemingly innocent appearance is where small-town drama and gossip runs rampant. Rose is a photojournalist who has just suffered from a fall that left both her and her camera wounded. As she is trying to recoup, she receives an urgent call about her mom that has her rushing back to her hometown. While caring for her ailing mother Rose is looking through old family mementos in the attic when she stumbles onto a photo that sends her on a quest to uncover the truth behind it. Despite those around her telling her that it is best to leave the past alone because it cannot be changed Rose continues to dig for the truth. As Rose digs into her family’s past, she slowly starts to unravel some secrets that may have been better left buried. A heart wrenching tale full of angst, drama, secrets, lies, family ties, and self discovery.
