The third book in the Shattered Embrace Series, Discovering Desires, features the points of view of Derek, Jordan, and Justine.
Derek is head of Nightshade Security and has taken on the task of removing Lucian Clareno from leadership of the Clareno Crime Syndicate. He meets with four of the syndicate’s lieutenants to discuss Lucian’s poor judgment. Since Derek’s brother, Zach, is the oldest, the lieutenants suggest that Zach take over the syndicate. Derek advises them that Zach doesn’t want to be the leader since he has become the head of the Ingram conglomerate. Because Lucian’s actions are putting his family and the syndicate at risk, he proposes a plan to eliminate Lucian. The men agree to support him during the operation.
Justine is writing a dissertation on sexual authenticity for her master’s degree. Zach has allowed her unlimited access to the BDSM club, Shattered Embrace. This is an intense book that builds tension at the perfect pace. Despite being the third book in a series, it is easily capable of being a standalone. An element of danger adds to the building suspense from the first page to the last. Zach and Derek are opposites outside the club. Zach doesn’t engage in the criminal world; Derek has the intestinal fortitude to do battle without flinching. Intertwining Justine and Jordan inside and outside of Shattered Embrace takes readers on a roller coaster ride, seen through the eyes of three exceptionally developed characters. The plot twists are captivating. The balance between steamy scenes and action is beyond remarkable. A perfect 5-star story sure to entice any romance reader without fail.
This book is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. This is a great book for young children who have pets or are a part of a family that is thinking about getting a pet. In this book, CJ and Lora are set to participate in a parade for the 4th of July. They want to bring their dogs, Porter and Midge, respectively, with them for the parade. They are then told all of the things that a dog needs to be able to do, such as not being distracted by new things, not barking excessively, and sitting and behaving well, as well as about the vaccinations that need to be done in order for their dogs to be able to participate. CJ and Lora train their dogs and work to be able to include them in the parade. The illustrations are great, and the book includes a check list of things to help children with training their dogs as well.

This book is a dark, twisted and intense horror / thriller story that, at times, was quite uncomfortable to read in the best way. This is the first book that I have read by this author and from the description I really did not know what to expect. The idea behind the book and the world created is so imaginative. It is detailed to the point that you can’t help but picture everything the author is describing. The combination of characters in the book really worked. They were all so different by the very nature of the situation which added even more layers to the book. At times, I think the writing could have done with a little polish. The writing was a bit abrupt in places but overall it was a great story. I look forward to seeing what else this author has to offer.

What another fantastic addition to an exciting series! This is the fourth book and I would definitely recommend reading the previous three first. It was so nice to revisit with these characters and go with them on another adventure. Tally is such a fun character to read about. I always become invested in everything she does and I love watching as she discovers so much about herself and the world. This book is probably my favourite of the series so far. I loved the element of Greek myths. It is something I have always been fascinated with and I really enjoyed how the author weaved it into this book. This is a really exciting story which was a pleasure to read. I would highly recommend this whole series.

This was a great story. It’s steamy, for sure. I enjoyed the story pretense. It was plausible with a forbidden apple touch to it. There was also a bit of romantic suspense in it that gave it an air that had me totally engaged. I have loved this series and hope to read more. Terrific characters and wonderful writing in these books make for a fantastic adventure.

I have never read The Epic of Gilgamesh, so not having read that I did enter this story blind, due to this being a retelling. I am glad the author added a glossary on what some of the words mean, without it, I would have been confused. This story was very well written, along with the character/world-building.
I wanted to like this story, however I just couldn’t get into it. I have read other fantasies that I loved and was hoping to add this one to that collection. Why couldn’t I get into it? I felt there wasn’t enough action.
It started off great and grabbed my attention right away with the war. It gave great insight to how Gilgamesh’s character is. How he is power-hungry and wants to make a name for himself. He did care for those in his inner circle and protected his family, but is ruthless.
After the first chapter, the war, it slowed down… A LOT. It became more of a slow burn and focused on character/world-building. While this is great for some, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Even the fight with Enkidu wasn’t much to grab my attention back. It was also love at first sight (or touch in their case).
There were other moments where I thought it was going to pick back up again, but it was never enough to grab my attention until about 80% into it.
I just didn’t vibe with it. I am sure someone who has read The Epic of Gilgamesh might be able to enjoy this story to its fullest potential, and of course, if you are more into character/world-building.
This book does end with a cliffhanger, but I don’t think I will be getting the second book in this series.

Trusting Love was a fun read! First book I’ve read by Julie Navickas and I enjoyed her realistic portrayal of the quickly developing romance. The main characters both had independent backstories that really added to the progression of their relationship (for better or for worse!). Both Tess and Ryan have had rocky previous relationships and easily let their past issues become present, but their family and friends help them work through their issues and push them to better their circumstances. Fun read! Excited to read the rest of trilogy!

I was able to read the Clumsy Little heart books 1 and 2 back to back, and while I definitely prefer being able to do that, I do appreciate that Finding Love, book 2, could easily be a standalone. There are definite references to material from book 1, but nothing that was imperative to the story being read independently. I really enjoyed the author’s realistic take on relationships and their problems, for better or for worse. Both Rachel and Miguel fell quickly into a relationship and while they had a quick honeymoon period, they also quickly found moments of insecurity and jealousy which happens in most new relationships. A fun, quick and easy read, filled with entertaining moments and endearing talk with a bit of steam. Looking forward to book 3!

I was super excited to dive into this book, after reading the first two in the series, note that I don’t believe that you have to read the first two books to necessarily read this installment but I do believe you would benefit greatly from read the previous two books about Zachary and Ashton.
This book focuses on Derek and I’m sooooo in love with him, he’s got a pretty rough pass that he still struggles with and after everything that happened to his brother Zachary and Ashton in the previous book he’s having to bring back a part of himself he would like to keep hidden away forever.
I like Jordan, a lot, if I could relate to one character in this story it would be her, she’s 100% a badddiiiiiee with a capital b! I think it was super interesting for this story that already has a lot going on to throw in two love interests without it being to many subplots, it was easy to follow and I was pretty captivated with this story from the get go. Now I feel like I should mention that I ADORE Justine, on the flip side from Jordan she has this sweet and quite nature, an she feels so much but struggles deeply with being who she is deep down and going after what she wants. She blossoms in this book, which really brings the entire purpose of the club together, it’s really full circle, this book, Derek’s growth, Jordan’s growth and Justine’s as well.
I’m SO excited to read the next book in this series and see all the relationships that develop through shattered embrace.

The Puppy Adventures of Porter and Midge: Out and About is a part of the Porter and Midge Series. The books in this series are always super informative and cute to read. This one was no different. We love reading this series, especially the older little one. He learns a lot about the responsibility it takes to have dogs. makes him really appreciate our doggos more. I love the showcase of all the different dogs and backgrounds. Also Omg Mastiff paws are so cute!!! Soo big vs their tiny bodies 🤣🥰 lol I love it,cuteness overload. Amy’s Betrayal (Gemstone Massacre Series) by Julia Goldhirsh. This is the second book in the Gemstone Massacre Series but I recommend reading them in order to get a better understanding of the story and characters. Its an urban fantasy that includes, danger, Violence, drama and and paranormal in it. Its the continuing story of Amy who is beginning to realize that she and Opal have quite a bit in common even though she doesn’t want that to be true. Amy is determined to stop Opal from destroying everything in their realm and do it without causing any more harm to anyone. Amy decides to take things into her own hands and fight Opal with everything she has. Opal is not a fair judge and jury and she decides to run so that she will never have to chance having a fair trial. With the help of everyone and everything Opal has tossed aside Amy has a pretty fair chance at winning. There is magic, Paranormal activity and corruption galore in this story and you have to pay attention to keep up. Such a a good paranormal fantasy~!
Tally and the Angel, The Sands of Time by Eleanor Dixon. This is the 5th installment in the Tally and the Angel series and its geared towards middle school age kids. This installment is set in Greece and the writing is so well done that you feel like you are in Greece. Its the continuing story of Tally who after her mother passed she was given a necklace that housed an angel. The angel is named Josphiel and they have been on many adventures together. These adventures are full of mythology and different customs that are celebrated. this book would be perfect for the middle school age child in your life. I do recommend reading them in order to better understand the characters and storyline. Such a fun series.

The Sands of Time is the fourth book in the Tally and the Angel series. This series follows young Tally as she travels the world with her dad following her mum’s death. She has inherited a necklace from her mum, and with it a guardian angel.
I love how each book is like going on holiday to a different place! The Sands of Time is set on a remote Greek island, so we get to explore the island with Tally and Jophiel. There are plenty of details, such as food that she eats and fish she sees in the sea.
Each story also draws on the mythology of the place where Tally is. The Sands of Time features characters from Greek mythology, as well as depicting customs such as reading coffee dregs.
I would recommend reading the series as a whole, beginning with the first book which is set in India. But there is enough of a backstory refresher in this book that you could jump in here, perhaps if you’re a particular fan of Greek mythology-inspired stories or preparing for a trip to Greece.
This book gets five stars from me! I’d recommend the series for confident readers in KS2 and KS3 who like learning about different cultures.

Not my first book by this author and definitely not my last. Storm, Marcus and Barrington have been friends since childhood. Now that they are all grown up things have changed. Their friendship has developed into so much more, I would say an Irresistible Bond even. The bond of friendship changes when Storm leaves. While she is away Marcus and Barrington build a life Storm can come home to. But when she is finally able to come home, she is a bit beat up. Her life has changed but not her feelings for Marcus and Barrington. I love the way this story reads. The development of the characters and their life lessons makes for this an irresistible story. Even though this is book 5, it can be read as a standalone. Looking forward to more from this author!

Irresistible Bond is book 5 in the series and was a very good read. The characters in this book definitely have an irresistible bond that’s for sure. Marcus, Storm and Barrington have grown up together and have always been so close. Barrington and Marcus are cousins who are very close and more like brothers. She has her orders to leave for the DEA training which is something she has always wanted to do. The cousins would love to give her another set of orders she would definitely enjoy. They are interrupted by Barrington’s mother and her nephew Roddy. Then Storm left the party knowing the fantasy all 3 were hoping to take place will never happen, Storm left and that’s the last time they see her for years. Storm went and changed her flight info and was gone. While she away on assignment she was captured and tortured by El Puma. She endured alot of torture but when she is rescued the cousins give her time to heal and once she’s back home they make their move and offer her a life she will never regret. She doesn’t know what to do until she realizes her life may be in danger. There is a lot of suspense In This book along with a whole lot of steamy MFM scenes. Will Storm be able to serve these two dominant men or is this just something to pass the time for now. I enjoyed reading this book and was glad there was no M on M scenes. These 3 were bonded together and best friends growing up but will they be bonded together forever now that Storm is back home or will Gato and his men finally put an end to everything ?

The Fallen Man is the 5th and final book in The Olympic Peninsula Series…This is a great conclusion to the series, I am a little sad. I feel fully invested into the characters in each book. I love the narration done by the author as she brings her story to life. I highly recommend stating this series from the beginning as key characters are in each book. This story is set during the Holidays introducing me to Edward, the elsest brother of the O’Connell’s. I really love his story.
Edward is a man searching… leaving the Church and walking away from his faith was not an easy decision. Edward soon finds himself taken in by the beautiful Lisette. Both Edward and Lisette have secrets but will those secrets get in the way to something magical….
Love, drama, betrayal and friendships…this is a great story and I highly recommend listening to this series!

Tally is back along with her Angel Jophiel!!! New adventures await in Greece…where Tally and her father are spending time together embracing everything that Greece has to offer. This story brought adventure, drama, danger, myths and decisions that do not come easy. I have really enjoyed every book in the series so far but I have to admit this is my favorite!
Tally is loving the connections she is making with new friends and also learning to scuba. Getting to know the culture and differences….Tally is also brought into a journey that she never did forsee. Having to make a choice that is not easy…..but let the adventure and self discovery begin….
This was a great story and I highly recommend reading this series in order to get to know Tally on each adventure. I am already looking forward to her next adventure!!

Storm, Marcus, and Barrington have always been close. As they got older, this morphed into sexual feelings that they eventually decide to act on. However, the high of their time together is quickly diminished when Storm overhears what the family of Marcus and Barrington really think about her. She decides now is the time to follow her dream of being a DEA agent. While she goes out to catch the bad guys of the world, Marcus and Barrington keep tabs on her while they are growing their club business. Years later, when Storm returns, she is not the same woman as before. She has physical and mental scars that were not there before. But, Marcus and Barrington are determined to heal her with their love and patience…if she will let them. When Storm’s past comes back, and danger presents itself, will the cousins be able to protect her?
I enjoyed this story. Storm grows up while she is away and it really shows. It is a spicy read. While it is a book in a series, you do not have to have read the previous books for it to make sense. The story is filled with heat, drama, suspense, and love.

My 7yo son and I have read so many books by Lois Wickstrom. Almost all of her books include a moral or some education that will teach children something. The difference between her stories and others, kids may not even know they are learning. They are too busy having fun while reading a great story. This book is no different. This is a set of mini mysteries that follow Amanda and her friend Elaine as they learn about the little things in life that kids often wonder about. This is a great book for all of those inquisitive kids out there. (My son is one of them) He says on a daily basis “hey mommy can I ask google a question on your phone?” I love gathering books like this for him to learn while reading instead of always asking Google. We enjoyed this book.
We have read a few books by this author recently, all of which we have enjoyed. So when we saw this one we knew we had to give it a go. This is such a lovely, and heartwarming story about getting to know new people and finding things in common with them. This is the kind of book that, even though it is aimed at a younger audience, is relatable to people of all ages. It can be hard to connect with new people and this book does a great job at teaching us how to do just that. As with her other books, the illustrations in this one really bring it to life. They are engaging and vivid and just really made this book even more brilliant to read. This is a book that we all thoroughly enjoyed and we hope to see more adventures from this raccoon soon.
This author is one who always knows how to write a gripping and intense book and this is yet another one to add to her list. This story is all about the characters and the undeniable connection they share. Even when they are apart, it can be felt in the pages you are reading. I loved how the author developed this as the book went on and I was completely caught up in their story. The overall storyline of the book was great. There was a few things going on, which helped to keep the story exciting. It was well written and obviously developed around the three main characters. I was easily engaged with it from start to finish. This is a great book and one I would certainly recommend.

The Porter and Midge books are always a great book to pick up to read with kids. They touch on important information about owning pets. This one is about learning that it is important to train puppies. Socializing dogs before you take them out and about is key to having a great adventure with your dog. This book talks about that in a way that is both fun and informative. I love that it includes extras at the end that can be very helpful to kids when they have their own dog to train.
