Red is the first book I’ve read by MK Harkins. I did not read the first book, so you can definitely read this as a stand alone and not be lost. I now want to go back and read the first, as well as any other book I can get by this author! The characters and world building were spot on. I was intrigued by the cover and the overview, but completely entranced the entire book! My emotions were on the same rollercoaster as the characters! I loved them all but my favorites were Merilee and Zuriel! I hope there is more to come with them. If you enjoy modern twists on fairy tales, run and grab this book!
