Miss Georgiana Darcy’s Quest For Love ~ A Pride And Prejudice Variation Novelette (Love Through The Ages Series) by TL Clark – Review by Netania Lim
Miss Georgiana Darcy’s Quest For Love: A Pride And Prejudice Variation Novelette by T.L. Clark
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I’m more of a Bronte girl than a Jane Austen fan, and nor is Pride and Prejudice my favourite Austen novel. But you can’t deny that Pride and Prejudice was revolutionary and there’s a reason it remains so beloved today. I think it’s a really interesting perspective to consider Georgiana’s situation at the end of Pride and Prejudice because it offers a different woman’s story after she is compromised by Mr Wickham. Obviously this means that it would be better to read this short story after reading Pride and Prejudice for it to make sense, and I do think it could have been fleshed out more. I did appreciate that Austen’s language is retained because I think that is part of the charm of reading Austen in the 21st century.
