Stas is your typical high school teenager who is still trying to find herself. She thinks that the biggest issues she has are her weight, which she believes makes her incapable of dancing and be able to wear the clothes she wants. After the tragic murder of her mom the story becomes even more emotionally charged. To make matters worse the prime suspect is her father. Now she must find out who really did kill her mother. She is ultimately on a journey to find herself and to heal from the loss of her mom.

I enjoyed reading My Murder Year due to how much Stas changes from the start of the story till the end. There is a good amount of suspense and twists and turns to keep it interesting. It was realistic and at times heart breaking. It is worth the read of you love stories with suspense, romance, and lots of heart!
