This is a wonderful story. It drew me in at the beginning and didn’t let go! I think I read it in a couple days. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Then I started the second book and WOW things went a bit crazy for a while. Even though Nichols lives in a different world I am shocked at what they can do when money is no object. Luckily Kenzie is down to earth and remains that way. I loved all the sweet gestures he does for her and how she staunchly tries to refuse gifts from him.

While I love the slowness and tension building in they story it is a bit too long. Listening to the characters berate themselves over and over for certain situations is getting old. I understand they both had traumatic lives and learning to trust is difficult. But once that path is started rehashing for each new circumstance that comes up….I hate to say it but I start to lose Interest.

That being said I actually loved it when the action finally picked up in Book 2 and the story moved to the conclusion. So many questions were answered.

This is a good story despite it being overly long. I enjoyed all the characters and it was easy to connect with and care about them. I do want to mention that the prologue in Book 1 just about killed me. Great start!
