The Holey Land by Laura Koerber is, as I expected, another original story with plenty of thought-provoking content. Ms. Koerber weaves magical realism with deft fingers, bringing complete believability to her work. This could be just another mid-life crisis story- but Ms. Koerber and her FMC Molly take us on much more of a journey of self-discovery- finding far more than she (Molly) expected- resulting in another well-woven tale with plenty of mysteriousness, magical realism, discovery/self-discovery, spirit guardians, drama, quirky characters, and emotion. He has not realized who this woman is yet. Chloe is the daughter of Nikolai’s coach and once he sees her at the All Star game he realizes she knows the same people he does. Chloe is off limits not only because she is the coaches daughter but Nikolai also does not need anything that could ruin him getting custody of his daughter. Holland Morriss is a young woman whose family has just had to move midway through the school year so that they can care for her grandmother, so she is super nervous on her first day at school. As usual, she is her usual klutzy self and trips up before she has even gotten to the front door and unfortunately, the most gorgeous guy sees and offers to help her find her way. It turns out that he is an assistant in the front office and can help her with everything she needs, she also finds out she has a class with him, but when he invites her to have lunch with his friends, they make her feel at home straight away.
As she is mulling her first day over in her mind, she gets to her locker and finds that she can’t open it, just another embarrassment to add to her collection, however, the most perfect looking, male model type guy walks up as she is venting all her fury and helps her to open it. However, when he asks her out, she is stunned and stutters a yes, but the problem is that his friends are there as well, it’s a home movie night and although he is holding her hand, his friends make her feel uncomfortable and so she leaves early.
These two events lead to confusion and mixed emotions as she finds that the two crushes she has are not only gorgeous, but they know each other, well! Now she has to make the choice between them, but will she choose the hotter than possible, or the smart one who is only ever so slightly less hot? This is a sweet coming of age story where nothing is as complicated as first crushes and hormones collide in this comedy romance of the high school variety.

Love and Fate is the second book in the Braebeach Rockstar series and can be read as a stand-alone.
So… I am not sure how to feel about this book. While it was a good read it does large time jumps within the story. What I mean by that is this story follows the life of Angie and Tommy through 11 years, skipping many in between. While I don’t mind time jumps the amount the author did kind of irks me. I think because of that I couldn’t get fully into this book. However, I enjoyed the parts when it stopped time-jumping and easily got swept up in cheering for Angie and Tommy’s romance.

I loved this story so much. It has a slow start. But if you stick with it, it picks up and doesn’t slow down again. It was written very well. I could picture everything in my mind like a movie. The reading soundtrack was perfect. It’s definitely a romance and fantasy but it has traces of a mystery. I loved the old world feel to the story as well.

I was a little intimidated by the number of pages, but it was very easy to get lost in these books. The world building was great. There was enough detail for me to picture where we were, without giving me too much. Each of the characters were developed and relatable. Ian Troy is easily my favorite character. The first book in the trilogy, Magic Price, we meet Ian and get a bit of the back story on him and the Shinree people, who are addicted to Magic, making them slaves. Ian tries to resist the addiction but someone wants to use him for themselves. Book one is full of adventure, magic, twists and turns. You’ll love it! Magic Scars is the second in the trilogy. The author did a wonderful job flowing from the first book. Ian has been drugged, used and in prison for two years. He starts remembering what he has done and has to learn to forgive himself in order to move on and help others. I think this book was a little more heavy emotionally than the first book. But that pulled me into this series even deeper. Magic Borne is the third book of the trilogy. Once again, an easy transition from the previous book. The adventure and suspense continue! This time the person he must defeat, is his father. Can you imagine? I think this is a wonderful set perfect for readers who love mature adventure, magic, and war. There are some sex scenes. Overall, I really enjoyed this trilogy and would recommend.

This a second chance romance that took me on quite the emotional rollercoaster ride. The characters are relatable, developed and make the story come to life. Can these two finally get the Happy ending they both deserve? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

But what happens when they arrive at Beefy’s home and get trapped in a video game? Well, they are all going to have to work together if they have any chance of escaping. So, get set for a great little adventure… This is not only a cute tale but teaches valuable life lessons along the way, such as: how to deal with bullies/bullying, teamwork, friendship, staying connected + invested, empathy/compassion, technology/science, building self-confidence, self-awareness, emotional regulation/emotional intelligence, promotes a positive mindset, reminds us to focus on what’s important, and that change can be good. Love. Love. Love. The author put together a fast-paced engrossing story with wonderful characters. I couldn’t put this one down and devoured it in just a couple of sittings. The writing is seamless and the author really builds up the story on the foundation of amazingly written characters. The main character, Sabrina, is just great. Her character development and personality largely made the story for me—there are many qualities of her that are relatable for adult female readers. She has a couple of alternate personas she takes on in the story, first the seductive emcee Nightshade, as well as a dull secretary. When she finds herself in the midst of danger both personally and at work, she and her boss, Brent, are caught in the middle…. with feelings brewing and hidden identities, this story just delivers! Can’t wait for the next one!

I was very excited to see this author had published another book in the Braebeach Rockstar Romance series, so I immediately picked this up and dove right in. This is a new-to-me author, but something about the synopsis pulled me in. As soon as I began reading, I felt transported back to school with kid crushes. This is a great series of reads. I found the characters to be very identifiable and the storylines believable. I love the level of suspense throughout, along with the romance that played out as well. Ups and downs and lots of chemistry will have you wanting to read more from this author!

This is a story of Donut’s best friend moving away and how he tries to befriend someone new. Making new friends is not always easy as Donut finds out in this wonderful story. The author is able to make trying to make friends humorous while still showing the struggle. Sometimes another perspective is all you need to be on the same page. A delightful and learning book that little ones will love.

This was a sweet book about change and not staying the same all the time. Gadrella was tired of the same old witch traditions and decided to change her this year. This is a wonderful tale of trying something new and finding acceptance even if others may be resistant at first. The illustrations are bright and colourful and induced many conversations about this upcoming halloween.

Schneider does a fantastic job in captivating her audience with an enthralling story line, in-depth and relatable characters and a mystical world in need of repair. I was drawn into Ian’s character and in each of the books, he is tested of his limitations, integrity and love. The first book focuses on Ian coming to terms with his inner demons in order to overcome his faults to help his people. Then in the second book, some time passes from the first one and even though he has been beaten down and defeated, his people look to him for guidance and strength. Their belief in his character helps him in unexpected circumstances. Then lastly, staying hidden after the fall of the Resistance, Ian is seeking ways to help his people. This series is best intended for an adult audience as there are elements of graphic scenes, adult language, as well as violence. The plot and characters have also reminded me of many other great classic fantasy novels, which made me very motivated to read it! Definitely worth the read!

This is a cute story for young children about things you will see by the river and around it. The rhyming words help the story easily and the repetitive words help new readers to recognize new words. The illustrations are beautiful and bright and very eye-catching.

I don’t know how she does it. Little “bites” (pun intended) of stories, but filled with so much they don’t leave you lacking. I just want to consume (oops, not intended) every single book Naomi has written. They are fun, entertaining, quick reads that make you want to “devour” (also intended) them in one sitting. Her storytelling is unmatched. Her stories are magical and paranormal, but they are unique. They are always full of witty banter and loveable characters. They suck (okay last one I swear) you in, bring you into their world, and leave you satisfied.
