Book Review: Swidler’s Revenge Author: Ellen Butler Four Stars A great suspense with some romance thrown in. Karina Cardinal has her day interrupted by the FBI knocking on her door serving a warrant to search her place for her Ex-Boyfriend. Rick is the head of Silverthorne Security, a private company based in D.C. Karina seeks out his help in trying to find who is framing Mike for the things the FBI are accusing him of. This is the 5th book in the Karina Cardinal Mystery series. It is the only book in the series that I have read and I really was involved in this story. I thoroughly enjoyed every page.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. This is a quick and classic romance which I love. I was hooked on these characters from the first chapter. I could not stop reading until I finished the book. I was in love with the story. I read it in only one sitting. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.
Dylan O’Day is a well known marine biologist in his town. He is trying to save the sea turtles but there is someone that is poaching the eggs. Dylan has feelings for Kyra but he is way older than her. He doesn’t want to break the trust they have but he can’t stop thinking about her. Will Dylan finally tell Kyra how he feels or will they just stay friends?
This was such a fun, cute and lovable story! It was shorter but, as the reader you still got all the most important parts to a great story! The writing that Tammy Mannersly is able to accomplish really pulls you into the story! Not every author can do this. The two main characters, Kyra and Dylan are also so relatable because they are fighting for something they love (Marine life and the sea turtle eggs) and I think that is one of the most relatable things ever! Everyone has something they want to fight for and believe in. That’s what I loved about this story, it was very relatable with who the characters were and I love when that comes across.

This book was wonderful. The characters were relatable and were so entertaining to read about. I loved that Stella got thrown into a situation that she never expected to enjoy. She has a horrible supervisor that she is dying to get out from under with this promotion that could offer her everything that she has been dreaming of. She has two of the best cousins/friends in the world and they are pushing her to be her best self regardless of how outside her comfort zone it is. Those are the kinds of friends that everyone needs in their lives! Johnny has been living his small-town life and it is all that he knows. He wasn’t expecting Stella when she drove into town nor was he expecting to be completely enamored by her from the first meeting. Their relationship is a whirlwind and was supposed to be a quick fling. Throw in an old love, a super small town, and some revelations long in the making and this story had everything that makes a love story realistic and heartwarming. I will definitely be picking up another read by Katrina Marie and encourage you to do the same!

This is a very sweet and cute rom/com that I enjoyed from beginning to end. I love the story of a big city girl, Stella and small town boy, Johnny. When Stella relocates temporarily due to a possible job promotion, sparks fly when she meets Johnny. When Johnny helps Stella with her vehicle trouble he also offers her no strings attached fun while in a small town temporarily. Will Stella go for it while still going for the promotion of her dreams? I thought this was a sweet, cute rom/com and devoured this book in a short few hours. I love a good romance and this was perfect for me. I definitely will be checking out more books from Author Katrina Marie for sure!

This was a great 5 star read, my emotions were all over the place. We start with a funeral where five teammates come together to honor their old coach. Craig is one of those five, he hasn’t seen coaches daughter Rachel in years and isn’t sure just how she will be with him. Craig and Rachel were high school sweethearts that didn’t end well.
Rachel invites Craig to meet and catch up and things take off from there. They start to rekindle old feelings. Her brother is very protective of Rchel and isn’t happy about what is happening between them. Rachel has some secrets from the past that need to be shared with Craig. Will they be able to move forward once the secrets are revealed?
Overall this was a good second chance romance. I really liked all of the characters, they added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I look forward to reading more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

A Natural Passion had me hooked from the first few sentences and I had to keep reading to find out what would become of the characters and if the mystery of the raided sea turtle nests could be solved. It was very well written, characters were well described, and the book moves along at a good pace.
The story centers around Dylan O’Day, a marine Biologist, and his intern, Kyra Shine. Dylan is dedicated to preserving and protecting marine life and has devoted his life to doing so. Suddenly his world is turned upside down when he meets his intern, Kyra, who he becomes smitten with. Dylan has never met anyone as caring and down to earth as her before. He finds himself conflicted as he finds himself falling for her but does not want to risk his relationship with her as her mentor. He is also older than her, so he chooses to keep his feelings to himself and keep their relationship platonic.
Kyra finds herself infatuated with her boss’ son, Jake, who has a reputation as being a bit of a bad boy. However, Kyra only sees the good in Jake because they share a love for the ocean and more importantly the endangered turtles. Kyra spends a great deal of time with Jake, much to Dylan’s dismay, and Dylan tries to warn her about him. Kyra chooses to ignore Dylan’s advice and continues to see Jake thinking that Dylan is being overprotective.
When illegal poachers start raiding the nests of the endangered sea turtles the Science Center Team sets out to investigate and save the nests before more are ransacked. Dylan sets out to protect the endangered sea turtles against the poachers and hopes to catch them in the act. Will he be able to save the endangered sea turtles? Will his heart be broken by Kyra? Will Kyra choose Jake, or will she choose Dylan? Will true love prevail? You will have to read to find out!

The first book in the Born Bad series, Deadly Words is a chilling, psychological, page-turner. I could not put this book down! The ending definitely left me wanting more and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series! Meghan O’Flynn has written an original, creative, realistic story that draws the reader in and doesn’t let go. I simultaneously wanted to be Poppy’s friend and turn her in to the authorities. This story includes elements of manipulation, murder, revenge, lies, and so much more. I recommend this book to anyone looking for edge-of-your-seat reading.

Goddess of Everything: A Blood-Curling Tale of Truth, Freedom and Love by Paul DeBlassie III is a wild ride. I loved every page of this book. I love psychological thrillers; Goddess of Everything adds in the supernatural that makes it even better! The descriptions were lifelike, I felt like I was there seeing everything around me. The characters were well developed. I want to say they were also relatable, but I didn’t feel like I could trust them. Which made for a better story, because I was constantly turning pages and trying to guess what was going to happen next. I would recommend this book to everyone, even if thrillers aren’t your thing. It’s perfect for spooky season. Maybe don’t read it with the lights off! I will say a trigger warning may be needed for scenes depicting child abuse and murder.

This is the first book in this series by Bernadette Marie. I really connected to the characters. Coach Diaz passes away and five of his players are called back to be pallbearers. They were his core players when his own son passed away, and he really took them under his wing. It made me really think about the impact we make on other people and the impression we leave. How many people do we lose contact with that were so important in our lives as we grow older and make our own way in the world? Craig one of the fabulous five and he comes face to face with coach’s daughter, Rachel. She wants to catch up. He is torn, he broke coach’s rule once, Rachel was off limits. Will they find their way back to each other? Or is there too much standing in the way? I love second chance romances, as I am engaged in mine right now. These always tug at my heart and make me glad that we can choose to open our hearts and love again.

A Natural Passion is a short story with a cause running through it. I have read a few books by Ms. Mannersly and this one is my favorite. I love stories that have preservation of animals, and this hit the spot. This was a fast read, about an hour and a half, but it was just what I needed on a lazy Sunday Afternoon. Dylan and Kyra have chemistry, but it took a while for them to figure it out. This was a really enjoyable read. Review by @sunbarn
Gone Country features workaholic Stella Monroe, who has to turn to the small town life in order to earn a promotion. This transition brings challenges for a city girl. Enter love interest Johnny – the attractive local mechanic.
Fans of “Hart of Dixie” (like myself) will love this one. Stella is funny, as are her cousins. The chemistry between Stella and Johnny is exactly what you want. Overall it’s a light-hearted read, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Something Lost (Funerals and Weddings Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie was such a fantastic read, I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. While I am a huge fan of contemporary romance this has quickly become one of my favorites. Ms. Marie’s characters are fabulous, her plot leaves just enough to the imagination to keep you flipping the pages, and her scenery descriptions are beautiful. Ms. Marie’s writing is so beautiful and flows so effortlessly that I read this book in just a couple of hours. Rachel and Craig loved each other a long time ago when they were kids, but now that their paths cross once again as adults what will happen next? You’ll have to read Something Lost for yourself to find out.

Book #3 in the Immortal series, and another hit out the park by Hazel Storm. This steamy Mythological tale is still very spicy, dramatic, unpredictable, and inhabited by the gorgeous Gods. Book 3 allows us to see how Vanessa’s character has truly developed and adapted to the new world around her. She is finally coming into herself and finding her voice with help of her 3 lovers Grey, Raef, and Aroz. As we explore the Underworld, Overworld, and Upperworld we learn more about the Gods, and a forthcoming prophesy as it relates to Vanessa. This book continues the journey of our 4 faves with more plot twists and even more clues that tie the story together. I look forward to book 4!

After finding out poachers are targeting sand dunes, the two begin working very closely together to figure out who the packers are. This book is a clean, sweet romance novel. It’s a very fast read and set in Australia. It’s written in 3rd person which I’m starting to notice a lot of Australian books are.

This is not the first book I have read by this author but it has quickly become one of my favorites. This book drew me in from the start and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. This book took me on a psychological adventure with its twists and turns, suspense, and drama. This story goes back and forth from Poppy’s past and present and comes together seamlessly. This author writes a chilling and original story that kept me turning pages needing to know what happens next. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.

I was hooked immediately when I started the first book in this series. Three books later, I am even more invested in it. It picks off right where the second book ended and we are thrust into epic quests and even better loves. I love Vanessa, Grey Raef, and Aroz together. This book focuses on the relationship with one of the brothers and his relationship with Vanessa. I devoured the book in no time. I seriously love this series.

This is the first book that I have read by either of the co-authors. The blurb caught my attention and definitely wanted to read it. It is a fast-paced story that pulls you in. While you dive into the story right away, but as you read you start to end the lure of this world. I do love the chemistry between Danielle and Vulture. Forever Valentine is the sequel to Professor Valentine (Book 1 in Kirk University) by Diana Vale. This age-gap fast-paced novella takes place months after Cassie and Diego have started their relationship. This couple goes through the normal things every relationship goes through, just added a little extra due to them being ex-professor/student plus an ex-wife poking her nose in. Overall this book was good and kept me intrigued but I will say I wish I had read the first book to understand the characters more (which I plan on doing).

WOW, what an amazing installment in the “Her Three Immortals” series. If you haven’t read any of these books, you need to. I was afraid that this would be the end of the series but once I got to the end of this book I realized that it’s not and that there will be another book. And I cannot wait. In my opinion, this story gets better with each installment. And this book, as are the previous books, a fantastic romantic fantasy series filled with action and adventure. I think that this one delved into the romantic story a little more than the previous two books and helped develop the story even more. If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend you pick it up. Now for me, I must patiently wait for book 4.

When I got to the end if this book I was go glad to find out that it is not the last book. When I saw that I was 90% of the way and there was still so much left to wrap up my heart started stopping. I was so glad to see that Vanessa continues to be a badness in this book and she just continues to grow even more. I loved reading about Aroz in this book and got to know that he isn’t just an asshole. The ending of this book is definitely not fair but I’m glad to know that I don’t have to wait long for the next book to come out. This book was super steamy and original. Each God and mortal has their own problems and different personalities and growth. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book and will be impatiently waiting!!!!
Another truly incredible read by the talented Meghan O’Flynn!!! I had really high expectations for this book as I’ve loved everything I’ve read by this author and this one did not disappoint! It’s dark, twisted, haunting, graphic, intriguing and very entertaining.
This author writes with a great amount of detail which makes it easy to picture everything playing out, which really adds to the reading experience. I really loved all the unexpected little snippets into the main characters life, they truly kept me on my toes and wanting to find out everything about her!
I would highly recommend this author and this book to anyone looking for their next thriller read! I cannot wait to continue with this series with book 2!

Callie is escaping from an abusive relationship with the help of her neighbor, Jane, and her brother-in-law, CC Chapman (a pilot with Trident Security). Given a chance at a second love, Callie and CC go through many challenges thanks to Callie’s soon-to-be ex husband. They overcome so much heartbreak for two mature people. Though with the help of CC’s friends and coworkers at Trident, they soon kick Brodie’s butt. Through this all, Callie and CC realize that they can talk and work things out and trust each other. This is an overwhelmingly emotional book. All the feels. Well written and the author even includes resources for domestic violence abuse at the back. Highly recommend. I just can’t say enough. This is a book you must read. I will be reading more of her work.

Deadly Words : a Born Bad Novel Meghan O’Flynn 4 out of 5 stars
Meghan O’Flynn is an author I’ve read and enjoyed in the past so once I saw Deadly Words I knew I needed to read it. Overall, it did not disappoint. I had a little trouble getting into the book at first, I felt a little lost and as if the storyline was slow to pick up. Despite this, the writing was strong and I could already tell I was invested in Poppy as a character. While the book often felt long, it never got to the point where I found myself bored or disinterested. I feel like Meghan O’Flynn had a unique approach to unraveling plot twists and that kept me engaged. There were several times I read a line that really stuck out, whether it was description or metaphor it really showcased the authors talent on many occasions. I’m addition to the author’s unique writing style I liked Poppy’s sense of humor and really hoped that she would see that while some people do bad things, they aren’t always bad and she too deserves good things. I liked Carsen immediately and was happy to see he played such a big role in the storyline. Even though the book was centered on the daughter of a serial killer, i enjoyed the complexities of the characters and the theme of the story itself, even though people are evil, we still have our version of them and our reasons we love. I am happy that this is the start of a new to me series and I really look forward to reading more in the future.

Something Lost is the first book in the Funerals and Weddings series by Bernadette Marie. This book had my attention from the very first page. The Fab 5 are brought together by their college coach’s funeral, it also brought Craig and Rachel, coach’s daughter, back together. This book had all the feels, and I love the way this author hooks you for the whole series with the fantastic bits of backstory about each of the Fab 5. This was a great read for a fall afternoon, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great romance. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

I have never read a book quite like this one. I loved the originality of this story. Luci and Beckett were just great. Beckett just had me all in my feelings right from the start. Tolle had a pull that I could feel from just reading. It had an incredible plot – I read it in one sitting. I also felt every change of atmosphere right along with the characters. Great story for the upcoming month of October.

The steam coming from this book is sure to warm you up on a cold night. Danielle is ripped from everything and has to come to terms with so much. Vulture thought this contract would be like all the rest. There is definitely chemistry with these two. The story is fast paced and full of action.

Jake the Growling Dog is back in another adventure where he is enjoying life and part of that is walking on the trail he loves to go down everyday, it helps him to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of life in the woods near where he lives. He likes to see what new sights and sounds are around, especially when his best friend Neet is with him, but one day he is walking down his trail when something doesn’t look or smell right and it makes them worry that it is something he might not want to share his trail with.
As Jake and Neet try to figure out what has made the strange tracks on the ground and whether whatever made the tracks is dangerous, their legs start to shake and their minds go spinning until they hear something start to pass by and they get scared and so they go and hide. When they are safe and alone they come out and go home, but the experience has made Jake’s head hurt and when he tried to get to sleep, he had bad dreams, but when his friends Bodhi and Luna come to visit, Jake tells them what happened and how he might not want to share his trail and how it is making him feel when he thinks about it.
Will Bodhi, Luna, Jake and Neet be able to work together to figure out the mystery of the new tracks and smell on the trail, or will their fears get the better of them? This is a beautifully written story about sharing, facing fears and not being afraid of something new and different which can be enjoyed by adults and children alike with some excellent activities at the end around the themes contained in the story.
