While I’m not typically a slow burn romance reader, I loved this one because the character details were so real and I was sucked into learning about them and before I knew it, I was into the romance part. I love love LOVED how their relationship in the beginning was burning but they also had a slight dislike for each other. Maybe its the enemy to lovers that I love but regardless, I think tis a great start to the series and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books!

Deadly Words by Meghan O’Flynn is the first book in the Born Bad series. This is another fantastic and utterly gripping story by this author. I found myself to be completely on edge for most of this book, desperate to know what was going to happen. It is such a thrilling story. I always love to dive head first into the books and written by this author because I know I will be taken on such a ride. I loved everything about this book from the characters to the overall story. The author has created a fast paced and brilliant book that has me desperate for the next.

My favorite part about this book was the fact that it is so relatable. You have a guy who got his heart broken and a girl who works her butt off and you get a romance that you can totally see in your own life. It’s an easy read and I got through it relatively quickly. I have never hidden nor denied the fact that my heart and soul belong in the countryside. I was born and raised in the ‘county’ and wouldn’t have it any other way. I have spent my fair share of living in cities, but it’s never really felt like home. This novel really revolves around the mixed feelings that Stella feels when it comes to moving from her big home city of Austin, to a small little Podunk town of Asheville. Not only is she leaving the hustle and bustle, but also her cousins, which she describes are more like sisters in every capacity. I truly enjoyed getting to know Stella, as well as understanding her bond with her cousins Audrey, and Tiffany. Katrina Marie does an amazing job at incorporating the importance of girlfriends, as well as being able to own the independence that lays beneath the surface.
Now, Johnny, on the other hand, sounds like my type of man! The perfect gentleman, but has that alpha side to him that just, for lack of a better description, makes me, and obviously Stella, swoon. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the characters and being able to really picture the scene where the story is set, and the small town ‘family’ that Stella is welcomed into almost immediately. Of course, it’s not always super easy, and people have history, and past relationships, which Stella and Johnny navigate as best they can, especially within such a whirlwind romance. Overall, though predictable, while reading this novel, I had a smile on my face, enjoying all the emotions, and the experience itself. Looking forward to reading more by Ms. Marie!

Apparently, this is the second book in a series by this author. I wasn’t aware that there was a first book, but I do plan to go back and read it as well. I don’t believe it is necessary to read the first book however I think that it could add some insight and the back story of the characters. Considering this is geared towards the middle school age readers, I found that as an adult I was also able to relate to this on many different levels. From being the child of a single mom to an adult with no children I can see how the main character was able to grow and develop while also experiencing the family dynamic issues that he did. It’s extremely relatable and I feel like all kids should read this book. Especially all the children of divorced parents because they will also relate to the return of a parent dating after divorce. It’s a great book.

I really loved this romance story. The author does an amazing job of mixing a romance and making it so funny at parts I actually laughed out loud. The author does a great job with her characters. I love Lucie. She is a funny straight talking woman and it’s her personality and attitude which adds the comedy to this book.
The story of Max and Lucie working together to find a key in a fan to save Max’s Royal family is a unique story. The attraction between them is immediate but with Max’s secret about being a prince and the job they have actually hired Lucie to do, could their relationship survive. Will Lucie carry on with this job and not realise her real purpose or will she figure out that Max and his family are just using her in their quest to find a key.

I enjoyed this book and even though my boys aren’t old enough for a read like this, I’m sure my 5-year-old would enjoy it. My oldest loves mysteries and stories of this kind! It’s unpredictable, witty, and original from start to finish. Great read!

I loved this gripping and addictive psychological crime thriller, which is a great start to a new series by the author. Told from the point of view of Poppy Pratt, the daughter of a psychopath we really get to understand this character and get into her mind, thanks to the wonderfully written descriptive narrative. Poppy’s father murdered her boyfriend Shawn in front of her when she was a teenager and it was Poppy who called the Sheriff and helped put him away for life. Eighteen years later and Poppy is a successful chiropractor who has done well for herself, living in suburban New Hampshire.
When a stranger who is writing a book about her father claims that her father is stalking him Poppy blows him off, after all he’s in prison. Then Poppy receives a package, a severed ear, and Poppy realises that someone, if not her father is also watching her. Soon her world which she built is falling apart and the secrets which Poppy has kept start to be discovered. Her stalker knows that Shawn was not her father’s only victim and has evidence to implicate Poppy in those crimes. Poppy’s lifelong fears that she is like her father start to come true, but will she end up with blood on her hands too.
I was hooked from page one and literally could not put this book down. The storyline was very dark and twisted with plenty of twists and turns in the plot that kept me guessing. I could feel the suspense and tension building with each chapter making this a real page turner. Poppy is a very complex character who the author managed to bring to life and make the reader feel empathy for. An enjoyable and engaging read which I definitely recommend and I look forward to the next book in the ‘Born Bad’ series.

I loved this book so much! I have read other works by one of the authors that helped create this wonderful novel. It was so good, the story line really drew you in, and you had more than a connection with the characters or the events surrounding them…you felt like you were right there with them! The book and writing was well done, there were surprises as I read through, and those are always welcome for sure.
This one I felt was a different take on the supernatural world where creatures only defined as supernatural lived and made a life, keeping things in order as they felt they needed and should. Danielle is unknown to this well to her, a secret and hidden world when she is in a auction to her an she is then thrust into a world and new life, she never even thought would even be real, and she is ready with her strong will to take all of this that comes with her life head strong forward! She meets Vulture, Danielle has been assigned to be his mate. Though the lust that each had for one another was very much there, neither wanted to admit to it. I kind of expected that for the most part. Seriously though, the heat impact from the challenges they faced really wanted me to see them go at it and let their passion really dig deep, and I mean really deep! Danielle was assigned really to protecting a ancient artifact, and even in Vulture’s world she was doing so though. As things happened more and more …I found loose ends tired together and things came to light. Answers came to me, and I still wanted more. The novel was amazing from start to finish and truly gave me everything I would want and so much more as well!
The novel gave so much to the myself as the reader. I was given hot and steam moments, as well good dialogue that went along with the drama and obstacles that Vulture and Daniele had faced together. I loved how even when hope and odds are against you, sometimes when you are not even looking you can find the greatest thing to ever be felt in life. That book had a string sense of that lingering as I read though, and it was a nice touch with everything else that happened and that progressed, All in all, the book and characters were amazing. I was very entertained and I look forward to more from these authors!

Stella is a straight up city girl. She really wants this promotion, so she takes her bosses offer to prove herself but must move to the country. Sounds simple – or so she thought. She cannot really stand being in the country, but the only shining light in this fiasco is Johnny – the mechanic who helped her when she first arrived. Johnny takes a liking to Stella right away. This was a good read. I enjoyed the city to country transition a lot.

Gone Country is the first book in the Gone In Love series by Katrina Marie. This was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but I can now add her to a list of authors that I’d definitely read again as I really enjoyed this book. Gone Country is the story of city girl Stella who moves to the country temporarily for her job and Johnny, the country boy who comes to her rescue twice within the first 24 hours of her being in the country. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Johnny and Stella’s story. Two people who seem to be such opposites at the start soon realise that they have much more in common than you think. I really liked reading about both of these characters. They are very well written and very believable and realistic and I was able to feel a connection with both of them. Of course the path to true love never runs smoothly and Johnny’s ex girlfriend wants him back and will do everything possible to break Johnny and Stella up. This is a really well written story. It flows well and kept me engaged from the very beginning right up to the very end.

This was is a really interesting read. I loved the mixture of crime and paranormal and how they mixed together to create this unique story.
Jayne has returned to her grandparents house in Whisper Pines. Her job is to clear it out and get it ready the be sold. However that all changes when she finds the home vandalised and the body of a dead young woman outside the property. Jayne promised herself she wouldn’t get involved in this case but with the local sheriff showing no interest in solving the murder Jayne takes it upon herself to get some answers.
She is then taken down a rabbit hole of Witches, Spells and people who can see when death is coming. As her suspect list keeps growing longer Jayne starts to get warned off this case by the Sheriff. But why? What is the Sheriff trying to hide or cover up?
I really enjoyed this heartwarming and lighthearted romantic comedy and I felt engaged with the main characters, Stella and Johnny. Stella is an independent and driven workaholic city girl who is willing to move to a small town temporarily to prove that she deserves a promotion. However, things do not go as planned when Stella ends up with her car in a ditch but luckily local mechanic Johnny comes to her rescue. Jonny offers to show her everything the town has to offer, including “other activities”, but with no strings attached as he’s not looking for a relationship. This is perfect for Stella as she’s not planning on staying in Asheville. The more time the couple spend together they both start to wonder if their relationship could be more long term but Stella is still intent on her promotion and Johnny’s ex girlfriend is also a complication for the couple. I loved the characters and the chemistry between Stella and Johnny came across in the story from when they first met. I also liked the relationship between Stella and her cousins, Audrey and Tiffany and enjoyed their witty banter. The storyline flowed well and the plot had me happily turning the pages. An enjoyable and engaging read which I recommend and I look forward to reading Tiffany’s story next in the series.

The storyline was a little hard to follow at first but once I got into it I couldn’t stop reading. The story has so much going on, Emma cracking case after case; it’s almost like reading an action novel. The story captivates you, and you almost forget that you’re reading. With a new case starting almost every few chapters you are kept wanting more until the end. Each case was solved by the end of the book so there were no cliffhangers. Very good read!
PHENOMENAL! This book knocked my socks off. I was not expecting that. This book takes off from the beginning and you just can’t put it down. A legal thriller along the lines of John Grisham’s early books. A plot full of action and twists, slimy characters that you love to hate, even ones you thought you’d love but found out they suck too. This book is worth the read. I can’t tell you anymore. You HAVE to read this. 10 stars if I could give it. You must read this. Highly recommend.

A Natural Passion by Tammy Mannersly. This is a great contemporary romance and I really enjoyed it. Its the story of Dylan O’Day who is a Marine Biologist and he has just been give a new intern named Kyra Stone. Dylan has developed a huge crush on Kyra even though their age difference is drastic. Kyra is not aware of this crush and therefore she has developed a crush on one of the Jake one of her coworkers. She thinks Jake seems perfect but she ends up finding out he is not who he claims to be. Dylan and Kyra share the passion of saving Sea Turtles and when poachers come into play they find out that not everyone has good intentions. Will Dylan find the courage to tell Kyra how he feels? Read this great Novella to find out!
This storyline was captivating with both mystery and romance unraveling with each page. I felt as invested as those actually investigating while trying to sort out the truth along side them. This book turned out to be more of a page turner than anticipated with a nice balance of love, concern and mystery til the end. I also felt the honesty within the storyline was a nice touch.

This is a charming little murder mystery with a menagerie of interesting characters. The setting is a quaint neighborhood with a drama laden gardening club. The main character, Anne, is a mystery magnet and like a dog with a bone, she just won’t let loose of her hunch. As with any mystery, things aren’t always what they seem from the surface! It’s very light hearted considering it’s a murder mystery and quite enjoyable!

I found this to be a cute, funny and oh-so-entertaining read. The girl goes country. Culture shock can be so very hard especially with two off-the-wall cousins. Stella has quite the adventure just trying to get that promotion at work. When she finally gets the offer of a lifetime, it starts off with a KAPOW! She must relocate to Asheville for a while….it does have one perk….a handsome fella who rescues her. They have some wild adventures with “wild” critters and other things. Together they also find their attraction and work through it. Will it be able to withstand when the distribution center is done? You’re going to have to read and find out. Such well-written characters, they grow on you. You feel like you are reading about what your friends are doing. It’s easy to follow along. You’ll find yourself chuckling at Stella adjusting to country life. Highly recommend.

There are only a handful of times I have finished a book and was left wanting more! Scarlet Princess is an exciting story of a princess taken prisoner by the clan that her family defeated years before. Will she survive to see her family again? How can she feel the way she does for her captor and enemy? I read this book in one setting, not getting anything else done until I finished it. I found myself laughing out loud at the bantering between Princess Rowan and Lord Theodore. This book takes an unexpected turn at the end and I cannot wait for the next book. Wonderful characters and an exciting storyline. I highly recommend this book. I could have so much to say on how captivating and amazing this book was in its own way! I was hooked right from the start, and as I read more into it the more I was hooked, trying to plan out who could be the main suspect in all that was happening, but still wondering all in all, if there was more truth than known?
For starters I loved the town, a small town, which seems like such a kind hearted town, but yet filled with dark secrets, and honestly though, how well do you know your neighbors and can you really trust the happy looking ones? The ones that look more not bad intentions, perhaps are the ones you should give your trust to? It all starts off with a murder that randomly happens. From that point on the lead character named Jayne who is there in the town basically for family business, and seriously seemed like she did not want to be back in the town in the first place. Loved her character by the way. She was very skilled as a sleuth and someone who wanted the truth always and no matter what would or could be. As the mystery went further deep I could not help what I truly loved most about this town, and that would be the residents that resided there. Each character was complex, but understandable in their own way. They were unique in the sense I constantly wanted to know more. As I read on, all for the most part came together all in all, that being said though…I loved how it ended, now I need to read the next!
The book gave me all aspects of a supernatural book I truly loved. I really enjoyed the book and how the author underwent with how the plot progressed as well as things that happened as I read on. They very much knew how to keep the reader interested. Seriously this book is a must read!
This was a great read for me! I loved spooky stories, and ones that bring on suspense with a dash of mystery always works well for me! This one was a quick read, but the story came together so well, I was very impressed and very much satisficed with reading this book.
A lady and her fiancé inherit this beautiful home. In my opinion, sometimes when you get such a grand estate based from a inherit there sometimes can be a catch…but of what kind is the true matter of the question? The estate is grand no less. As I first was venturing into reading about the home, I was overwhelmed with creepy feelings, about this home, as if my reader senses were saying something was bound to happen at some point…perhaps I was right? Things progress quick with the right amount of suspense, a ghost that may not have the best intentions, buried secrets that may have been left in the closet, and as well as that, and Luci going down a path that she may not be able to come back from herself…there was a lot happening in a creepy way. It was an amazing read. I really enjoyed it!
The book was a first time author for me. I had a great time reading this creepy mysterious book. I think it is one a lot of people should dive into, and find out the mystery themselves. Far as I know…Stormwood takes to new guests aka readers quite kindly…its defiantly a must read for sure.

This was the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be my last, I highly enjoyed this read from start to finish. It’s not the type of book I would normally read but I loved it through and through.
This author wrote with such great detail, with hints of history included and I loved that, it really provided a well-rounded story and I was able to clearly picture everything out in my mind. I loved the characters as I was super intrigued by their individual stories and I enjoyed getting to know them better.
I look forward to reading more from this author asap and I would recommend this book to others.

A Natural Passion is a great contemporary romance novella by Tammy Mannersly. I have read several of Tammy Mannersly’s novella and have really enjoyed every one of them. I can now add A Natural Passion to that list. I really enjoyed reading this novella. With most books that I read being set in the USA, it’s great to discover somewhere new as Tammy Mannersly’s books are set in Australia. With a marine biology background, this book is set in the beautiful coastline and has totally piqued my interest in marine biology and conservation. Dylan and Kyra’s story is a bit different as at the beginning Kyra is interested in a different man. She just hasn’t quite realised just how perfect the man she is working alongside, who is mentoring her is just perfect for her. I loved reading how Dylan and Kyra’s relationship changed as they migrated towards each other, realising just how similar they are in their career aspirations and conservation beliefs. This is a very enjoyable read, that although short has plenty of action packed into it to keep you really engaged and wanting to read more.

Gone Country by Katrina Marie is book one of the Gone in Love series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I wasn’t disappointed!
In order for Stella to get the promotion she desperately wants and needs, she needs to prove she deserves it. In order to do that, she needs to move to a small town. She doesn’t have an easy go of it at first but that doesn’t last for long. Stella is strong willed. She’s determined to make it through her time in Asheville. Then she meets Johnny, who offers to fix her car for her, among other things. Can Stella keep her eye on the promotion and still spend spend time with Johnny even though her time is only temporary?
Stella is a bit of a workaholic and definitely thinks work trumps everything which works for her. Johnny definitely has charm and didn’t hesitate to use it on Stella. These two had sparks. This book was well written and overall I enjoyed the story!

Gardening murder mystery What a brilliant cozy mystery. This is the 5th book in the series but a first for me by this author. The writing is easy to read and I quickly connected with the characters. There is a bit of comical banter throughout the story which was amusing and kept the storyline light. I loved the small town setting and the author really captured the interconnected nature of the community. A quick, witty and fun story.

This was an enjoyable read. First, I’ve always been fascinated with the turtles and watch a lot of nature shows that talk about the conservation of these, so I found this part unique and I loved it.
I’m not super crazy about love triangles normally and I had this one figured out pretty early on, but did enjoy how it all played out. It was a very easy read and left me with a sweet comforted feeling at the end. I really enjoy this author’s books and her writing is amazing so I will always pick them up as I see them. Can’t wait for more!
I highly recommend this story, it was short, sweet and a definite one sitting read.
