Somebody in the Neighborhood was an incredible thriller! This book had me entranced from the first page, and I had trouble putting it down! Murder, crime, and thrills with plenty of twists, this is one of the best suspenseful novels I’ve read in a while! I’ve never read Judy Moore before, and I can’t wait to read another of her novels! I lost definitely recommend this book!

Hennessey on the Rocks is the first book I have read by Monica DeSimone, but it won’t be the last. I was hooked from the first chapter, to the last page. I loved the writing style, and the realness of it. The characters are relate-able and very personable. She didn’t make either main character the bad guy, but showed both of their feelings and weaknesses. The children were written with strong personalities as well, and I felt like I could envision them and their attitudes. There were times I was chucking at the dialog of the children. This story brings home how strong a first love can be, but also how hard marriage and co-parenting is at times. The secret of the story, I guessed from the beginning. However, there are ups and downs and I was not sure how things would end for Charlie and Jonathan. The book’s main characters is Charlie Hennessey. A big name chef, with restaurants, cooking show and cooking school. She just moved back home to the house she grew up in, in Maine, after living in Manhattan for years. She was looking for a new start, but that’s hard to do in a house with so many memories. To make matters worse, her ex husband Jonathan follows her, and asks to stay for a while. Jonathan Hennessey is a popular author, coming off his latest book tour. He is wanting to reconnect with his son, and if hes being honest, his ex-wife. He messed up big time, and is finally at a point where he is able to admit his faults and try to win back his family. But when secrets are uncovered, will love be enough? They have been best friends since they were 5 years old, but some secrets are unforgivable.

Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore is a murder mystery. Dawn Andersen decides to move from her home in Ohio to Florida to start anew in the home of her recently murdered aunt. Is her aunt’s murder a random murder or someone who was someone closer to her? This is a good read that kept me reading from beginning to end. I enjoyed the characters and the story. It reminded me of a good whodunit. The characters get narrowed down as Dawn starts to narrow down if they could have murdered her aunt. A good fast read for anyone who enjoys a murder mystery.

Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore was an excellent suspense and mystery read. I absolutely loved this book and the main character Dawn. She was developed well and realistic. I loved the detail the author put into this novel. I felt that it was easy to picture each scene as I read along. I was easily swept away in this novel. It had an easy flow and excellent climax. I had a difficult time putting this book down. I highly recommend it!

The Ash Park Series Box Set by Meghan O’Flynn contains the first three books of the series – Famished, Conviction, and Repressed! Be forewarned that there are MORE in the series so plan extra time beyond the box set to get the whole impact! FAMISHED is the opening to the series that introduces us to Detective Petrosky who will be our lead throughout the series. The opening to the series was a bit underwhelming, at least that is how I felt as I had read the fourth book … I know though that it will get more intense with each book as the writer gets more and more into the characters, giving them more dimension … it is a great start to a twisted labyrinth of violence where everyone has too many skeletons in their closets. The writer gives us a cat and mouse serial killer universe that leaves you doubting yourself and guessing at who it is. I loved that the story was told from multiple characters’ point of view as it added dimension and layers. I have to warn you that it is very graphic so it is not for faint at heart! CONVICTION is the second book in series that takes place in the run down area of Detroit. You can see how the writer has gotten deeper into the Ash Park world, the story is complex and the characters have layers, you learn more about them and it makes you understand where they come from and why they act the way they do. All of them are like us – dark and light – and it is up to them how they choose. We have Petrosky and Morrison with Shannon Taylor from the prosecutor’s office and all of them have their doubts regarding the ‘guilty’ verdict that the young woman Ashley Johnson received. And the doubts grow stronger when Shannon gest stalked and her family gets harassed … and there is a galore of suspects … take your pick! At the same time, the story is much more than just trying to find out who the killer is … REPRESSED is the third story in the series and I think she has done it now … I have nothing to say but “she has arrived”, roll out the carpet! Repressed is THE story of Detective Curtis Morrison who we met in the first book and learnt more about in the second book … but still (zen) waters run deep … his checkered past seems to be catching up to him – his wife (who we also met in the previous books, the second book was her book) and baby daughter go missing and there is this sadistic monster that is ruling this nightmare that he has initiated to make Morrison to pay for the sins from twenty years ago… The story is dark, disturbing … it is very graphic, the violence, it leaves you shuddering… the way the writer describes addition, it blows your mind … the story is fast paced and you will get a mystery with its beginning, middle and the end!

Forbidden love written by Lisa Jones Gentry is the first book that I have read by this author and this book was unique and different to what I read. The characters are well written, but I was a little disappointed in them. This is a true story of Father William C. Grau, a Black Catholic Priest and Sister Sophie Legocki, a White Polish American nun, who in the segregated fifties, defied the church and society with their passionate secret love affair that lasted for nearly a decade and gave birth to a son, Joe Steele. The Archdiocese sealed is adoption records because they didn’t want him or anyone else to find out that his parents where a priest and nun. Joe is a Harvard College and Harvard Business School graduate and successful Global Development Consultant and Executive Coach. He finally reunites with his birth mother, Sophie, and finally hears of the passionate love that she and his birth father shared, often risking their lives to be together. Joe also learned for the first time how after his adoption, Sophie and Father Grau continued their love affair when she moved into the Rectory to live with him as his housekeeper until his death in 1964. Joe and Sophie grow closer as he too shares his life as the beloved youngest son in his nurturing and loving adopted Steele family in Cincinnati. This was a good book and I recommend it…. Somebody in the Neighborhood is a murder mystery. I don’t usually read these types of books but I enjoyed this one. Dawn’s Aunt Amy gets murdered and needing a change, she decides to move down to Florida into her aunt’s home. It might not have been the smartest decision seeing as Dawn fits the description of the victims, pretty and blonde. Dawn loves the sun and the beach is nearby but she has to deal with her strange new environment. Her next door neighbour keeps watching her, some of the others seem too interested in her aunt and she has a creepy mailman who is way too friendly for her tastes. After doing a little investigating on her own, Dawn realizes that she’s in trouble, the killer is someone in the neighborhood.
The thing I liked best about this book was that the author kept me guessing until the grand reveal. The story was well written with enough twists to keep you interested. Suspense, drama and quirky characters made this a wonderful read.

Charlie has loved Johnnie since she was 5 years old. He became her best friend quickly, someone she could count on and love. Through their life together they faced many ups and downs. Too many downs were the catalyst for destroying their marriage. Charlie is an overachiever in many ways and has strived to do good for herself for so long. All she has wanted to do was to cook, feed those she loves, be the best at what she does and take care of her kids the best she can. What she wants, and what she gets are two different things.
Johnnie has loved Charlie his whole life. He’s not loved her, and he’s never lived without her in his life in some capacity. When she makes her move with the kids back to their home town, he knows he has no choice but to follow. Charlie has been his best friend for too long to not go after her, even if its a door in the face again. He’s faced his demons and the darkness helped to ruin his marriage. Because of his own issues, those who have loved him have suffered. He wants a life back that includes them, his career, the chance to be a better person and to have a solid foundation. What he wants, he’ll fight for.
Through their move apart, together and beyond, they go through so many more ups and downs, tragedies, confusion, increasing emotions and just plain grief. In all of that though are Jace and Abie, the lights of both their lives and the reason for their beating hearts. The two of them make for some pretty entertaining dialogue. But also, some very spot on and witty advice that had me go “awwwww” quite a few times.
This is a fun second chance love story that will have you feeling all the emotions with them. As a parent, I understood both sides on so many levels. It’s a beautiful story that I enjoyed immensely. I would have liked to learn more about their history though, as it fascinates me to know where they began and all the in-between. I’d also love to see another book or two done with the supporting characters!

Hennessey On The Rocks is a fantastic second chance romance novel by Monica DeSimone. It was the first time I had read any of this author’s work but I was attracted by the blurb and decided it was worth giving it a go. I’m so glad that I took a chance on this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it. Charlotte (Charlie) Hennessey is a famous cook with a couple of restaurants and a successful TV show. Sick of life in the rat race, she moves herself and her 2 children Jace and Abie back home to the house she grew up in. Her ex-husband Jonathan (Johnnie) Hennessey is a famous author who is still battling with alcohol and depression (and his love for Charlie). He also decided to move back home to be near Charlie and the children. He desperately wants to be part of a family unit again. The chemistry between Johnnie and Charlie is still off the charts hot and both are still deeply in love with each other but the issues that caused their marriage to break down are still there and also Charlie is hiding a huge secret that could totally devastate Johnnie. This is an amazing story. I loved the interactions between Johnnie And Charlie. These characters are so well written. They have many flaws and are broken. In addition the 2 children are just amazing. Jace is the typical moody tween and 3 year old Abie is such a scene stealer. She is just the most adorable little girl ever. I’m a total sucker for a second chance romance and this is one of the best that I have read. 100% recommend this book to others.

Master’s Rise by L. Ann Marie is the first book in the Phoenix series. This book is clearly the start of a great new series that I already can’t wait to read. This author is a new author to me and I wasn’t sure what I expected going into this series. What I got was amazing characters and a brilliant story. The main characters in this book absolutely gripped me. I thought they were just brilliant together. They were the type of characters I connected with instantly and that never changed. The story was well written and detailed. The pace was perfect and it all just flowed so well. I definitely enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to see what else is to come.

Rule is the first book in the Larussio Legacy series. While this book is the beginning of a new series, it does mention characters from related series. You don’t have to read the others to pick up on what is going on, but it would be helpful to so that you get a better foundation for the characters that are carrying over.
Rule is full of suspense, intrigue, danger, and of course, steamy romance. I don’t want to give away the story so I won’t say too much more, only that you need to read it to find out how the twists and turns play out! This book makes for a great break from reality for a bit.

There is a lot to say about Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore, that follows the story of Dawn’s life after suffering the loss of her aunt, Amy. Dawn, much like her aunt, is an eccentric, “born to late”, wild card. Seeking independence from a her seemingly suffocating parents, Dawn moves to florida.
This book is honestly ranked in my top 10 reads, Judy doesn’t miss a single detail! Her story unfolds beautifully from beginning to end, and is a definite must read! A five star rating for a 5 star book!

Rule (The Larussio Legacy Book 1) by Via Mari was an excellent first book for this series. Having read several other books by this author, I am very excited to see where this one goes. I loved the storyline and felt it had great detail. I also loved the various characters and the different roles they played in the story’s romance theme. The storyline was easy to follow and fun. It moved easy from one scene to the next. I look forward to the next book.

Hennessey on the Rocks by Monica DeSimone is a wonderful story and I read in one sitting. It is a story that will tug on your heart strings but will also make you laugh out loud as it is a very emotive tale. The characters are so easy to love and through Monica’s writing you can easily imagine who they are and get carried away with them on their journey. It is a second chance love story but it is a refreshing and originals storyline. It seemed to be professionally edited. I really enjoyed how this story carried me away into its world.
Charlie and Johnnie have always loved each other ever since they met as children but sometimes love is not enough, not when demons of one’s past get in the way. Johnnie has always been the darker person fighting his demons and always the one to take but when Charlie is down for the count he is the one that needs to pick up the pieces. However there is one secret that could keep them apart.
Abbie is a precocious 3 year old that will knock your socks off. She is a force of nature and had me laughing out loud.

Singles: And Other Singularities (The Woman Scientist Trilogy 2- The Italian Saga) by Gaia B Amman starts of slow, I am not sure why, but it always takes me ages to get into these books, but I do enjoy them in the end. The characters always make me want to slap them for putting up with their boss and for the way some of these men treat women. But I always end up enjoying the story.
Leda is once again back at the lab doing what she loves and trying to work out her place in the world and those within it. I love her conversations with the Old Man, they make me laugh. I am glad that she is seeing that she needs to find herself before hooking up with a man again. She is a very complex woman with her emotions, and it makes me want to hug her and shake her at the same time and tell her to loosen up and stop being so grumpy. Any way there are lots of ups and downs for all the characters as they struggle with their lives and the different cultures they are faced with and not to mention the boss from hell. I would love to see what karma brings that woman, nasty woman.

Amy’s Santa: Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #1 by Manda Mellett. So honestly I wish I could reread this all over for the first time again, because I am so sad I’ll never have that again. But I will reread this book over and over. Once again this author gave me everything I could have possibly wanted. Characters that completely hooked me and a storyline that just had me sinking in and never wanting to come out. This story may not be for the faint hearted it’s got some dark points that aren’t for everyone but it adds to the storyline. This author writes so many emotions into a story and I as the reader felt every single one. I’m already a huge fan of this new series and can’t wait for more. Well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

5 Star Recall: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 6) by Meghan O’Flynn is a murder/ suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what happens next. When it comes to the Testament of Feats Book of Sorrows (Book 2), I was completely blown away, more so than I was with the first one. K.H. Jones not only took an original idea and made it into something, but in turn owned it. I was amazed with the first book, but this one took the cake. Following Scream on his quest to find the missing Ranger, as we know in the world of fantasy, a quest never turns out as easy as it seems. Such as the saying goes “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.” This was no exception. The level of emotions I felt while reading and following along were off the charts, often times a book can say “Sorrow” but will ultimately fall flat, this ‘Book of Sorrows’ did not fall short and there was sorrow, as well as adventure, suspense, romance, and, my personal favorite, twists and turns. I recommend this series, and especially this book to anyone who loves Fantasy, especially Dark Fantasy, and brilliant Original Ideas. 5 out of 5 stars!

Oh my word! I was terrified to read this because I do not do ghosts well but I am SO glad I did! This was hands down the best book I have read all year. Incredible writing, rich characters, surprising plot points, and a feeling of absolute realism are woven throughout this entire book. I can not recommend it enough! I am already hooked and can’t wait to read the next. Absolute perfection. 5 stars.

This is the first book I have read from this author and wow I was blown away. I fell in love with her writing style right away. I love mystery and romance but she has exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book in the Maggie Trilogy and it was a great way to start an addicting series. I could not put this book down for anything. It only took me a few hours to devour this awesome story.
Naomi is an author that is looking for her next best seller. She just can’t find a muse that she is falling in love with. Naomi goes out to do some thinking and she finds herself in a cemetery. She sees a grave that catches her eye and she feels an instant connection with this spirit. Naomi reads the name Maggie and she is intrigued by what happened to her. Naomi finds herself in a love story herself with two men that she can’t stop thinking about. She has the dark and gorgeous Ryan and the hot single dad Bryce. Naomi is torn because they are both great guys but which one is right for her? Also as she figures out the truth about Maggie danger comes to her who can she trust more Ryan or Bryce?
“Maggie” by Mya O’Malley will have you questioning whether ghosts are real or not. I found the premise of this story to be fascinating. Our main character, Naomi, is inspired to write a novel about a woman named Maggie who is buried in the cemetery behind Naomi’s home. Naomi believes Maggie has an untold story about her death and begins seeing her ghost.
As I was reading, there were a few things that bothered me. For example, everyone seems to believe in Naomi’s story about seeing the ghost of Maggie without much skepticism. Also, at times the dialogue seemed unnatural. However, this was an easy and enjoyable read. I would recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal romance.
Tanuja Ramachandran:Hunter-Seeker by Kumar Sivarsubramanian was quite a surprise. I have to confess when I first started reading it, I thought this is the craziest thing I’ve ever read, and I must say I had my doubts about it. As it turns out it was crazy good. Our main character Tanuja is one tough gal, made even tougher by the fact that she has narcolepsy. Not what you would expect by an ultra-bad James Bond type gal. Tragic thing have happened in her life that drives her, and she is teamed up with her brother Max to do a job. It is a very touching note to the story that no matter how far out there his sister is Max believes there is redemption for her. To sum it all up, this was a story well worth my time and I think I want to follow Tanuja on more of her adventures.
Rule is the first book in our amazing Via Mari’s new series called Larussio Legacy. I hesitate to call it a spin-off of her Prestian series as Larussio is Katarina’s family and for the ones who are in the same boat with me aka die-hard fans of Via Mari, then you all know that Katarina is the lead character in the Prestian series with her husband Chase Prestian … so you can see it is all kept in the family! Rule is told from FOUR different points of views! Of course Katarina and Chase and then Giovanni, the next in line to become the Don of the Family AND Serena who has lived her life in the fear of the Larussio family … Throw these four together, add to this the magic that Via Mari adds to all her writing and you are left with an opening move that will leave you panting for the next book in the series!

Tanuja Ramachandran: Hunter-Seeker was a great novel! I’m not typically a fan of this genre, and the names were confusing. I feel like I might have understood better if I read the rest of the series first, but it wasn’t hard to get into at all! Great characters and character development! It was very entertaining and I would recommend reading this book!

Ok this author has done it again! I think I know the answer and I’m wrong. This book had me hooked. Dawn feels a connection to her aunts house in Florida so she makes the decision to move there after she’s murdered. Things start to happen and she come to the conclusion that the suspect they have in custody isn’t the right person. I couldn’t put this down as I just had to know and boy was I wrong on my first guess. Great book!

I give Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore, 4 stars.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought Dawn was a great main character and I understood her thoughts and needs perfectly. She needed to get away and start over, and her aunt’s house was the perfect place. The neighborhood had the type of people you would expect in a small town type atmosphere. While you don’t always agree with them, they do really exist. I liked how each person was different too, not just cookie cutter placements.
The whole book is shrouded in suspense as you try to figure out who is killing and why. There are things happening throughout the book to keep you involved too. The list of suspects is quite long, and so many people could be the suspect. I was pleasantly surprised by the actual killer, it wasn’t one of my top suspects.
This is a great whodunit suspense set in a small Florida cul-de-sac that offers an interesting story and unique characters. If this is your type of book, I highly recommend that you pick this book up.

A great read about answers. Ian Troy struggles to keep going against the strength of his enemies. Desperate for answers to solve things and tackle his ever growing magic, he seeks the stories of the past. Can he find the answers and defeat his enemies before it’s too late? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Ian trying to keep going despite the odds. Great catsbof supporting characters like the stern Sienn or the caring Jillyan or Jarryd as wise but kind and more to him. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the prologue with the stones and auras and waterfall and magic with their bright and beautiful colours for a sense of awe and wonder so vivid it’s as if you’re actually there. Or the portal with its vivid colours and strange sensations wonderfully written. Or Kabri later with its white sand and beaches in the sunset for a sense of beauty and calm. A great example of world building with a range of fantastical beings with their own rules and laws and societies. I loved how the author explored more of the history of the Shinre in this novel adding more to them. I loved how the book brought the reader straight into the story with short sentences and fast paced action to grab your attention and draw you in to make you want to read more. I also liked the use of the journal entries as part of the narrative was written well and didn’t disrupt from the narrative of the present. It also added suspense, with small details revealed slowly to make you want to keep reading, wonderfully written. The only issue I would raise is that I by the end of the story I felt the rivalry between the world and Langorians was never truly explained when it was a major point in previous novels. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.View all my reviews

Absolutely amazing book! I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t put it down. You think you’ve figured it out, but there are so many twists and turns. The main character Naomi is a writer, and she seems to be the only person that can uncover the truth about Maggie. As I was reading I felt spooked out but in the best way possible. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!
