Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen – Review by Lisa Helmick

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love StorySimply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is perfect! The title not only fits each main Character but it fits them together. They are Simply Irresistible! Each their love of 80’s/90’s movies and music that sparks more than One heated debate. I have so many highlighted passages it’s crazy! Here is one example:

Tyler is trying to date Melanie exclusive and he says this
“Wanna feel my shirt? It’s made of boyfriend material 🙂 “

ha ha ha I chuckled at this so hard. This is just the tip of the iceberg! There are so many more cute passages either said by Tyler or Melanie. I don’t even want to mention what they say when texting each other. Again..so many highlighted passages.

This is a first time author for me. I loved her creative ideas in this book. The story flowed so easily and i was quickly turning pages to see what was going to be said next. The characters were fun and wildly imaginative. Even the secondary characters were flirty and heartwarming. This is a wonderful feel good story that had me smiling and chuckling while reading. It will be a great re-read for when I want that sweet romance.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OH MYLANTA! If you love contemporary romance, especially from the likes of Phoebe Alexander, India Kells, and Dani Rene to just name a few, then you will absolutely have to have The Sweetest Obsessions Boxed Set Collection on your shelf. This contains 25 books from some of you already favorite authors, and I am sure plenty of new ones to discover. I personally started with Phoebe Alexander’s Sugar & Spice, Spicetopia #1, simply because I know her novels are always five star reads and I had to get my hands on it first! I have since started and finished several others that I just adore. I personally will be enjoying many hours of fun and beautiful stories of love from some fabulous authors. I will include a bit more about Phoebe’s addition to the series below, but be sure to check out all of the books and scoop this gem up as soon as you possibly can!

Sugar & Spice is actually the kickoff of a new series, Spicetopia, from Phoebe Alexander. I can tell that this one will be another one of those I will obsess over as each new book in the series releases. I loved how this was written with the same igniting passion and pizazz that I have come to expect from Alexander, yet it was something new and fresh from her all at the same time. Jolie and Cy were wonderful main characters with dimension and history that makes them vivid and believable to the reader. I loved how these two complimented each other and also had the perfect chemistry to keep the reading witty as well. I personally can’t wait to see what will unfold in the coming books. I am sure it will be just as, if not more so, fabulous than this one!

Sweetest Obsessions Boxed Set Collection

5-stars

Sweetest Obsessions was an excellent collection of steamy and romantic stories. I loved the variety of authors featured in this set.

One of my favorite stories written by an author I love was Sugar & Spice (Spicetopia #1) by Phoebe Alexander. It featured characters Cy and Jolie in he main roles. I loved how with each chapter the author revealed more and more about the characters. I had so many different emotions with her story. Jolie was so strong in her various roles. I also felt that Alexander did a great job on each setting featured in her story.

These books were such a wonderful distraction and all were easy reads. I highly recommend this collection and feel that it easily meets the 5-star standard.

Guilty Pleasures Volume 3: Guilty Pleasures by Joyce McCarthy – Review by Liz Vrchota

Guilty Pleasures Volume 3Guilty Pleasures Volume 3 by Joyce McCarthy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Guilty Pleasures Volumes from Joyce McCarthy are just that, my guilty pleasure reads. I always know I am in for a hot and steamy reading session whenever I pick up one of these novels. I have read the books in order, and recommend that you do as well for the maximum enjoyment of the series. These are short quickie reads of Brad and his various sexual encounters. So, with that said yes, this book is steamy and contains content that the reader would enjoy if they prefer an erotic fiction novel. If that isn’t your cup of tea I wouldn’t recommend you read this. However, if it is your thing, these books are fabulous options. I love how each of the stories stick to twenty or so pages, so it is enough to wet your palate but not overwhelm you with details. I prefer to read these is spurts before bed each evening when I choose these types of collections. This being volume three we are all aware that Brad enjoys several of the taboo subjects that most are afraid to admit they like, let alone detail. Not the case here as Brad shares all about it from his international flight tryst to the kinkiest of threesomes. Every moment is fun and done with class that isn’t so easy to do. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on the next set of stories.

The following are the titles of each included in this volume…

-My First Time With a Hooker (#1) – Brad and Betsy
-The Hottie from the Mall (#2) – Brad and Amanda
-Naughty in the Train (#3) – Brad and Joanna
-Wedding Fun (#4) – Brad and Susan
-My Hot Summer Training (#5) – Brad and Jackie
-Business With Pleasure (#6) – Brad and Tanya
-Closing the Deal (#7) – Brad and Penny
-The Girl I Met Online (#8) – Brad and Natasha
-Adventure in the Trial Room (#9) – Brad and Anne
-Flight of Passion (#10) – Brad and Natalie
-Room Service (#11) – Brad and Sonia
-Fireworks With Strangers (#12) – Brad, Mona, and Celina
-The Sexy Lady of the Hills (#13) – Brad and Stella
-The Hot Massage (#14) – Brad and Scarlet
-My Girlfriend’s Hot Friend (#15) – Brad, Betty, and Julie.

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Liz Vrchota

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue, #2)Trouble in Mind by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I will be the first to admit that I don’t normally pick up the sci-fi novels by first choice. Usually, when I read them it is because the author has done a fantastic job of grabbing me into needing to read the story with the cover and blurb on the storyline. Trouble in Mind is no different of a situation. I had to know what would happen behind the cover that graces Trouble in Mind. I am glad that I did. I did struggle just a tad with the beginning but once I found my footing among the main characters of Trouble in Mind I was soon swept away in the adventure and intrigue that plague them.

In Trouble in Mind we find Jack, Asia, and Jack on a picnic where things go terribly wrong. Asia and Jack find themselves the victims of a kidnapping and Ethan is badly beaten by the assailants. Things only get worse when Ethan becomes the prime suspect. Special FBI agent Alana Matheson, Lana, works together with the telepathic, Gabriel Cruz. Will they be able to find Ethan’s wife and child safely while clearing Ethan’s name? This book really has it all, romance, drama, crime, and adventure and vivid world descriptions that will sweep you away with the story to a far galaxy. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment in the series, Fools Rush In.

Eternity (Captivity Series Book 3) by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk – Review by Karyn Taylor

Eternity (Captivity Book 3)Eternity by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Eternity is the 3rd and final book in the Captivity Series by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk. I would definitely recommend that you read Captivity and Sanctuary before reading Eternity to properly understand the story and get a deeper insight into the characters.
Eternity starts where Sanctuary finishes. The team of shifters have reached Sanctuary and Aiden has been cured from the blood graft which was killing him. Just as they are all settling down to enjoy their new life they hear that there is a plan to contaminate the water supply with blood graft which would kill all shifters. The team decide that this must be stopped and so head back to the city with a plan in place.
I really enjoyed this book. Again, like in book 2, we get to know the characters in much more depth which I found very interesting. Not just events from their pasts, but what type of person they are.
Relationships also play an important role in this book, with both Aiden & Xander and Lorelei & Douglas experiencing highs and lows. Well, the path to true love is never easy and the author’s do a great job of developing these relationships.
Again, like the previous books there is a lot of humour in this book. The banter and camaraderie between the group is hilarious at times.
Sorry now that this series is over but I’m sure it’s one I’ll revisit again. Highly recommended.

Sugar & Spice (Spicetopia #1) by Phoebe Alexander Featured in the Sweetest Obsessions Boxed Set Collection – Review by Erin Wolf

Sweetest Obsessions: A Contemporary Romance Boxed Set CollectionSweetest Obsessions: A Contemporary Romance Boxed Set Collection by Jane Anthony
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Sweetest Obsessions: A Contemporary Romance Boxed Set Collection, 5 stars.

This was a great collection, but the story I am going to focus on is Sugar and Spice by Phoebe Alexander. Cy is the youngest son of the Sweetopia amusement park empire. Never one to settle down or commit, his family chooses him to go undercover to ferret out who is causing unrest among the employees. He does is begrudgingly, until he meets the new Red Velvet Queen. He cannot get her out of his mind and finds himself wanting more. But will she still want him when she realizes who he really is?

Jolie works at Sweetopia as the Red Velvet Queen. The benefits and pay are not great, but she needs the money. In fact, the whole Sweet family is horrible. The only joy she gets is from the new guy in the bakery. She makes him feel things she swore off long ago. But when he finds out the real her, he will bolt — won’t he?

I absolutely loved this story. It’s like nothing I have ever read before. I would have never thought about a romance book revolving around an amusement park with two of the employees. The main characters feel so real and believable. The secondary characters too felt like people I know. Then there’s the story! The author weaves an incredible tale not only of romance but drama too. It’s not only sunshine and roses either, there are tough decisions they have to make — just like real life.

If you like incredibly written romance that is not only hot and heavy, but has so much more, this book and collection are for you.

Eternity (Captivity Series Book 3) by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk – Review by Katie Matthews

Eternity (Captivity Book 3)Eternity by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The third and final book in the series, Eternity by Ms Biglow and Ms Zenk was probably my favourite from the series! I have really enjoyed all of the books but this one really did capture my attention from the very first word. I am still in awe of these two authors and how seamlessly their writing just blends together as if one, it is really difficult to tell that this actually is a dual author written story! I loved getting back in to the action with Aiden and Lorelei – they really had to work hard to make sure that their loved ones and each other were safe from a deadly plot! I have to say I’m not usually a fan of shifter stories but these two authors have definitely piqued my interest – I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole of this series and I am looking forward to reading more from them again in the future – both as joint authors and as individual ones.

He can’t stop thinking about her. He makes up excuses to talk to her. She thought he was seasonal help little did she know he was her boss. Will Cy blow his one night stand rule with Jolie or will he be too scared to risk it. The sex scenes in this book are off the charts and will make the temperature in the room go up 1000 degrees! September Breeze (Cinnamon Bay Romance Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Shannon Fowler

September Breeze (Cinnamon Bay, #2)September Breeze by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Absolutely LOVED this story! One of the sweetest and most heart-warming stories I have read in a long time!
A single widowed dad with 2 young girls and a single adventurous woman make for an interesting mix.
There are no sex scenes so this story is safe for most ages. There was a hilarious reference to being naked as told by a 9 year old, which makes any parent a little uncomfortable, in an “I’m not ready for my kid to grow up” kind of way.
This is a story with all of the feels. Some tears, laughter, sweet sighing. A very nice read after all the sex crazy books I have been reading.

5 ++++++++ Stars

I just finished Sugar & Spice by Phoebe Alexander and she has done it yet again. Opened up a whole new series to come which is sure to thrill… I can not wait!

I loved the Undercover Boss part of this storyline..I could picture it on my television as I loved watching that show and that made this awesome story that much more real. What was fun was seeing when you can imagine the cameras aren’t running and the behind the scenes where the amusement park prince meets the struggling velvet queen and the spice part of the story begins.

This was an awesome story, it had more than one storyline going on and it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book, which i did not put down once I started. The issues in this book are so so real, I know people in these circumstances and this author hit on so many things that are true struggles today so I appreciated that part of the story a lot.

I loved Cy, his impromptu British accent cracked me up and I loved how he saw what he wanted and went after it and Jolie’s story was definitely not what I expected in a really good way. My heart broke for her but her determination and strength was inspirational. This might have been the start of a fun series and there were parts that were fun..I loved Cy’s “boss” Colleen and really hope she gets to move forward into the rest of this series, I think she would be hilarious in the future plans., but there was a very serious side to this book and it made me love it even more.

This author never ceases to amaze me and her and her books are an auto one click no matter what she writes.

Loved it!

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1)Shattered by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shattered is the first book in The Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. This series is a spin-off from The Prestian Series. I seem to be reading Via Mari’s series’ back to front. I started with the 2 Billionaire’s Bodyguards books before reading this series. Judging by how much I’ve loved these, I’m sure I will go onto reading The Prestian Series soon.
In Shattered, the main characters are Jenny Torzial (best friend of Kate from The Prestian series) and Brian Carrington (best friend of Chase Prestian). After her ex-boyfriend brutally raped her it was discovered that he had been laundering money through her business and working with some very undesirable characters. As Kate becomes a target from the Mafia, Brian does everything he can to keep her safe.
The chemistry between Jenny and Brian is sizzling hot, as are the many sex scenes that unfold between them. There is an element of BDSM in their growing relationship as Brian takes control. Jenny is happy to submit to Brian in the bedroom but struggles with him trying to control her out of the bedroom too.
This book is fast paced and full of action from the very beginning and grips you right into the story and keeps a tight hold of you. I thoroughly enjoyed Shattered and can’t wait to see what happens next in this amazing series.

5 +++++++++++

**warning long NO spoiler review to follow**

I have wanted this story for so so long…I love them all but this one has been brewing and I just knew it would be one of those you can’t put down or get out of your mind and I was so right!

While reading this book I just felt comfortable I don’t know why and when I finished and an hour or two went by I went to pick up my kindle and thought Dang it, Im not reading that anymore and literally put the kindle back down. I was so sad when I finished and am still sad I finished. This was the last in the Home Chapter series and I know there is a lot more to come and I know we will probably still hear of and even see some of these characters in the new series that break off from this one because it’s already happened but just knowing there’s no more focus on these people that I’ve become so invested in is super hard.

So..in saying all of that..This was brilliant. I dont have another word to describe it. The Peg and Drummer conversation..Simply Awesome! The minute I picked this book up I did not put it back down until I finished, there was so much happening and each one had some sort of emotion weaved into it. I knew Id need tissues while reading this but Oh my goodness…I know my heart is working and it got its cardio workout while working through this story..It dropped, it stopped, it broke, it raced and was totally in love with Truck and Allie and This Club and what they did and how they handled everything…I just Can’t!…this isn’t your everyday love story which is just one of the reasons I love this author so much, you can never predict where she’s going and there have been things that have happened throughout this whole series where I’ve said out loud..This just doesn’t happen in books! She keeps it so real and I have the entire compound laid out in my mind, I can see it and feel it.

I have to stop and try to finish this review…Those that read reviews probably see often pick all these books up you won’t be sorry but I’m telling you right now …Buy ALL 11…It will be one of the best one clicks you have ever made.

I’m so thankful she is breaking off into other chapters. The Colorado Chapter has already won my heart and I don’t know if she planned it this way or not but it makes this one ending just a tad bit easier by giving us a couple installments into the lives of those in Colorado and even planted a couple from Tuscan there.

I can’t wait now that these 11 have been written to sit down and take a few days and read them all back to back all over again.

Thank you Miss Mellett!

Game Changer by Sylvie Stewart – Review by Lisa Helmick

Game ChangerGame Changer by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Small town girl..big city boy. One open emotionally the other is closed. One silly and the other is Intense. Can they ever match? This was a slow starter for me. I understand why later it’s because the author has a lot of setting up to do for the end of the book. That’s where thing really got happening. It all seemed to come full circle. Poppy’s job and Mac’s job. Poppy’s family and Mac’s family. Poppy’s friends and Mac’s friends. Look who is matching now!

This is listed as a romantic comedy but I honestly didn’t feel it was. There were a few times but mostly it seemed darker and more serious. That could be attributed to the male lead. He is a alpha male who is dark and broody. She refers to him as a dragon or King Kong multiple times. He says he doesn’t have a word limit a day but between you and me…I think he does. So getting his story out of him is like pulling teeth.

I enjoyed the sister, Iris, and a co worker, Naveed of Poppy. They both added some flair to the story. Even Bunny, Bobby Lee and Cookie were some nice additions.

This isn’t my first book by this author. I love her Carolina Series. This just seemed to reach quite that high. The story was good and the characters had growth. The author did a good job relaying the intense attraction the two MC’s had for each other. I was saddened and irritated a few times while reading. Then I did get that big “O” of shock. I didn’t see that coming. This is a good story to me though not a rom com

Both Jolie and Cy are characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. The author does an amazing job in weaving a tale that you won’t want to put down until the end. The story Truck Stopped (Satan’s Devils MC #11) by Manda Mellett is an amazing book to read. It is a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I loved reading about the characters of Truck and Allie. Truck is a man that has been badly injured. He believes himself to be broken and refuses to allow anyone to help him. It is when he is at his lowest point that Allie shows up. Allie is a woman who has been part of Satan’s Devils for a very long time. The brothers in the club have known her intimately. She has agreed to take on the task to try to get Truck to return to the club. She sees how broken he feels and refuses to let him push her away. There is an attraction that is felt by both Allie and Truck. Will Allie get Truck to go back to the club? Will they deny or embrace the feelings that they have for one another? What does the future hold for Allie and Truck? Read this book to find out. This story has both heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I have read several books in this series and I enjoyed reading about the familiar characters that have been brought forward in this story and interact with Allie and Truck. I grew to care about Allie and Truck with each chapter that I read and wanted them to find happiness. This is a story that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. It also had moments that touched my heart. I highly recommend reading it.

The story Al Capone at the Blanche Hotel by Linda Bennett Pennell is a historical romance book that includes times of suspense. It is a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I read the final page. It is a book that takes you back to a different period of time and you experience the way that life was. I really enjoyed reading about the characters of Jack Blevins, his sister Meg, Meg’s fiancé who is a sheriff’s deputy, and Liz Reams. They all have their own part to play in the story and I grew to care about each one. I cared about what happened to them. Mystery surrounds that fact that Al Capone checked into the Blanche Hotel which is in a little-known town. Why was he there? Who was behind the increasing body count in Lake City, 1930? What will Liz discover about that summer of violence? Read this book to find out. This story will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. There is also romance that occurs in the story, both in the past and the present. The story does have emotional scenes that made me feel sad and others that warmed my heart. Don’t miss out on an exciting book that you will not want to put down until you finish it. I highly recommend reading it.

This is a love story between Jenny and Brian.

Jenny is a successful business woman with her own company, who has had a traumatic incident happen to her.

Brian is a very successful man in his own right, who i used to women wanting to be with him just for his money.

A meeting between them at their friends weddings starts a relationship which neither of them expected and revealed things about the past that Brian wasnt expecting to hear.

This is a lovely story about how you can overcome something so horrible and find love again. The author tackles the subject of abuse and rape between a couple and it is done in a respectful way.

Shattered by Via Mari was a steamy quick read. I would give this book a five out of five. A brief warning, it does reference a different series but it is separate from it. I was a little confused at parts but as I continued to read the past made sense. This is a steamy read and surprisingly wholesome. I know it sounds contradictory but without going into too many details there is a sense of honor. I loved Jenny’s character she is strong, but vulnerable. Not a cry baby, has very distinct wants and knows how to ask for them. Brian from the outside is your standard billionaire bad boy but as the story continues, you start to get the bigger picture about him.

Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Robin Rankin

Rule BreakerRule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander is a standalone but is connected to another book by a different author. I read the other book first, but probably should have read this one first not that it matters it’s mainly the timeline in my head.

I love Ms. Alexander and everything I have read by her to date. This book held nothing back, Athena and her husband Warren start it in chapter one and it doesn’t let up.

I remember a time when I could relate to the female lead because we were young and close to the same place in life. As I’ve gotten older I have found that I don’t get that connection simply because I’m now the age of the lead female’s Mom.

Athena, Warren and Ramsey have such an interesting dynamic and the heat is off the charts. Had to put it down a few times just to catch my breath.

If you are looking for some hot moments with a great story to go along with it then this is the book for you.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Game Changer by Sylvie Stewart is a standalone but is connected to another book by a different author and I didn’t even realize it until I got to the very end.

Poppy is adorable! She’s brand new to New York from Georgia and is trying to show no fear. She does okay about half of the time. She’s has no idea how different her life will be. Now that she’s in the big city.

Mac, oh what can I say about Mac? He is a giant, built, tattooed man who has so many layers to him. He is quiet, thoughtful, loving, artistic and vulnerable. He has been hurt by people he trusted and so he tends to keep to himself.

I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like this story. Why does the Southern Belle always leave her hometown to go to the big city and try to reinvent herself? Too often but it worked so well in this story.

Ms. Stewart is a name I’m always looking for when I’m trying to find a new book read. I can’t wait to see what she releases next.

Game Changer was a great 5 star read by Sylvie Stewart.
I really enjoyed this read, Poppy and Mac were great. I had so many LOL moments.

Mac is a true alpha male, he had some bark but no bite to him. Poppy was a great southern belle who knows how to stand her ground. I loved the bantering between these two.

You could feel their chemistry coming off of the pages. The storyline was great, it had a slow build that moved forward very well. The characters were great which always makes the read enjoyable. This is a great opposites attract story. There are several unexpected twists and turns. I enjoyed the cookie wisdom as well. If you’re looking for a great read, 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from Sylvie Stewart.

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Michelle King

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1)Shattered by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Spectacular start to this series of books! I can’t wait to read more! This book is about Jenny Torzial, a confident and successful woman who dominates the business world. However, she is emotionally scarred from a past relationship and feels her submissive needs in the bedroom may have played a role in her tragedy. When she meets Brian Carrington, a sexy as hell, wealthy, cocky, womanizer who doesn’t do relationships, she is instantly attracted to him and can feel a pull towards his dominance even though she doesn’t understand why she feels the way she does. Brian tasks himself as her protector when outside forces are threatening them from all sides and he will stop at nothing to keep her safe. As they are thrown together, will their attraction to each other be enough to overcome their obstacles, or will they walk away in the end?

Shattered has a bit of everything. Authentic well developed main and supporting characters, romance, suspense, danger, tragedy, mafia, and of course plenty of hot and steamy sexy bits! I am looking forward to more of the Torzial Affair series and getting to know the characters better and delving deeper into the twists and turns of their lives. Definitely a must read series and must read author!
