While this book was on the shorter side it was very descriptive, full of fantasy, an amazing plot line and wonderful characters. When I first picked up this book it was due to the beautiful front cover. While it took me a little while to get into the story due to the traditional writing, once I got into the story I couldn’t put it down and by the end I wanted more. While the descriptions were great there were some times that I thought the descriptions were a little long. However that being said it is a great prequel and I look forward to reading the next.

Caspian and his cousin are enjoying a fun breakfast with their grandfather and when he uses his magic wand his cousin insist on getting one of her own. As the three enjoy their breakfast and the wands when something starts to happen and the shaking starts. This is a quick read and shows how the three are able to help each other using their own wands. It is a nice way to show communication and how to help others. The only part that I did not like was the way the cousin demands her own wand at the start of the book and she is given it. Otherwise, this is a nice story to show young children how easy it is to help others.
It was a very nice read and even though it was set in the old time, the dialogue wasn’t over powering and still made it able to read. The characters (some of them) were lovely however I felt like it needed more especially in the ending. Parts were very well written and explained and some parts really fell flat. I’m hoping a sequel is next to tie up lose ends!
If I had a sister in law like in this book it would be a murder mystery book haha!

Once again Lois Wickstrom impressed me with another cute children’s story. Not only was it entertaining, but also educational. I learned something new and my 4 year old granddaughter is now interested in bees. We plan to make the project that is at the end of the book. I remember having a favorite author as a child and I believe Lois Wickstrom is my granddaughter’s. I definitely recommend you picking this book up for your child or grandchild.
This book was so mesmerizing that I immediately read the second book in this series (Underboss’s Retaliation). I love romance, I love mafia and what better than to put the two together in a riveting series?! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next reveal because I could not guess the next turn of events for the majority of the book (which I love!). As with any other mafia concept, there’s revenge, death, masterminding, and romance. This is a must read and will leave you yearning for the next one.

This was a good kid’s story. With Characters that we all know about, but with a little different tale to it. A story about that you should treat others that you would like to be treated. Teaching values, morels are a great thing to understand and learn. The pictures in the book were amazingly drawn and the colors were bright and really brought the whole book together. And the educational part about how mirrors work was very interesting to learn. It was a very enjoyable little book.
I feel that this is a mafia version of Romeo and Juliet; two lovers from enemy families who shouldn’t be infatuated with each other, but are. The title gives the premise away, and the underboss’s pawn in the grand scheme ends up being exactly what he’s always wanted. Emelia isn’t to be shoveled under a rug though, she’s ferocious and can certainly hold her own in a world ran by overbearing men. I love the Larussio family and will continue to be a reader of this series!

Little miss loves these books – they are easy for her to read and the colourful illustrations keep her engaged….
This one was super cute – there’s even a touch of magic (wand) so what wasn’t to love. Even her older brother stuck his head in to listen (he’s into Harry Potter currently).
This is a great read for kids and can highly recommend.

This was a very great read. This would be my first book i have read from this author. This is a story written about love and revenge. Just how far is someone willing to go to get revenge? This is the next book in the “Invisible Magic Wand” story, and I found it to be just as cute as the other stories have been. I love that this gives children the opportunity to use their imagination to figure out how to get out of certain situations. This book involved two of the magic wands and an earthquake. This is a perfect book to give parents a chance to discuss natural disasters with their kids and ways to get out of the home should it happen. Again, the illustrations are perfect for the story. Once again the colors just pop off the page and are so vivid. That to me makes it easy to see what is going on in the story and helps set the narrative. Terrific book for kids.
This book was definitely a world wind, like a roller coaster. There were so many possibilities for how the death occurred you wouldn’t know which one it would be. Everything had me guessing of who killed or accidental death of Susie.
Catherine is Susie’s mom she is searching on what really happened to her daughter so she is doing loads of research and on thesearch. Something just didn’t feel right about what happened to her daughter. But the more she investigats the more she realizes how little she really knows who her daughter really is. With ten possible scenarios on who was involved and how the accident happened will Catherine ever finally uncover the truth? Or is the truth best left alone before something else sinister happens?
Eaxh aspect of the scenarios had me doubting who could have played a role in Susie’s death.
I did not expect how the book ended. But buckle up for a great read.

Bees in Loretta’s Bonnet is a delightful story that is educational but also entertaining. It teaches children about bees, well the non-stinging type. I’m allergic to bees so these type of bees sound right up my alley for my garden. Loretta sure loves her insects. In this book she finds a bee nest but no bees. She is on the hunt to find them. Lois once again incorporates learning into her story. There are instructions for creating your own Leafcutter bee nest and lure bees to your garden to allow bees to hatch. The colourful illustrations bring the story to life as we journey along with Loretta and learn about nature. The story is for children 3 – 8 years. My son and his sons are going to try this out now that they had read this story.
Fear Inc: Volume 3 is a fantastic book by Melinda Valentine. This second chance /brother best friend romance follows Kasper and Krysta as the try to work out their feelings towards each other after a disastrous break up years previously while also trying to stay safe from external threats that are out to interfere. I found this to be a very enjoyable read, it had a likable group of characters, some very steamy moments and some suspense and excitement. My only complaint is I finished it too quickly! This is the first book of this series I have read however I will be going back to read the first 2 volumes in the series.
Wonderful and informative fun as we learn about bee’s in the eyes of Loretta. As Loretta is trying to get some wood for her family from the woodpile, Loretta notices something unique in between the wood. Loretta learns about bee’s and how they can help benefit her garden in the spring and summertime.
Fun story, very good illustrations and engaging for any age! Highly recommended!
Before reading this, I would advise checking the trigger warnings: unhealthy relationship spiral, physical domestic violence, adultery and ‘unaliving’. Please note that the story does not appear to encourage such things, but portrays them as part of the characters’ lives. The revenge aspect of this very short novella is what drew me to it as I love psychology. Even though the story is very short, the thoughts and emotions leading to the actions of each character is described well and I was not expecting the ending (the final chapter), I enjoyed the surprise twist. It’s a very fast-paced novella, full of suspense and a little fantasy of only 20 pages. I think that being able to put as much emotion and action into such a short story is quite the talent, especially when done so well! It kept me engaged and wishing it were longer. I didn’t feel as though the story was being rushed or that things were being added just for the sake of it, which was a nice change from other novellas I have read recently. I would have loved this to have been longer as a full novel so that it didn’t end so quickly, but I am still very impressed with it at the length that it is. I would recommend if you wanted a quick and interesting read, but please do read the content warnings first!

Things are Shaking is a super cute children’s book about a magical wand. My four almost five year old son loved this book and all the amazing illustrations. This story will have your impact going wild. Caspian has an invisible magic wand and now his cousin wants one to and this is when things start shaking. This is a cute children’s book that is intended for readers ages four through eight but can be enjoyed by any age group. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. We look forward to reading more from this Author.

Bee’s in Loretta’s Bonnet is a wonderfully written children’s book that children of all ages will enjoy reading. This author is one of my son’s and I favorite authors. He enjoys her books and we read them over and over again. One of the things I love most is her books are fun and educational and each one has a different message. Loretta is a young girl eho loves nature and learning things about nature. In this book Loretta has a arm full of wood and when she drops it a long tube which is called a leafcutter bee’s 0 nest. Read along as she learns the importance of a leafcutter. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next . We look forward to reading more from this Author.

The second book in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries set, fully composed of six books. Elinor Chalamet, crime fighting medium, returns for another round of ghost banter and mischief. I would recommend reading book 1 (Ghost Talker) before this one, as it builds on previous character development and helps to establish the momentum into Delicious Death. I really enjoyed that the story continues, but is not dragged out extensively. We find ourselves in a new location with a whole different array of ghosts and characters, and of course dilemmas to deal with! I did find this book to be a change of pace from book one, and a LITTLE slower, but still a fast and easy read that I highly enjoyed. Byrd Nash knows how to engage the reader and keep the pages turning, and I am looking forward to the next one.
I found this story to be entertaining and informative. Miss Loretta gets a lesson in bee habitats. The story is fun, age appropriate. It gives just enough information to not overwhelm but to make the child want to learn more. My grandson will be studying gardening and insects. This book will be going in that unit with hopes it will encourage him to learn more. Engaging, fun and a great read.

This was a great Thanksgiving story for children about how a turkey can be eaten for Thanksgiving or pardoned. I recommend this book to families who make want to share with their little ones that there are traditions but also that each person is allowed to deviate from those traditions if they see fit.

Wow! Just Wow! Sharing his Nanny was so much better than I thought it would be going in. I was intrigued which is why I chose to read it, but what the author wrote was amazing. I read it without putting it down. Spicy, sexy, hot, ect! Who knew a polyamorous MMMF story could be so hot and intriguing. Plus the forbidden fruit step-sibling aspect. Though it’s a mental thing, they are blood relations nor did they grow up together. Just a formality. Stella, Charles, Alex, and Jordan definitely never expected to end up where they are. Charles had a baby dropped on his doorstep right before him and his bestfriends headed to his Malibu home for a July full of sex and debauchery. Which completely threw a wrench in their year tradition. Charles thought that he, Alex and Jordan could manage, 3 men and a baby style. Stella is not your average woman. She’s plus sized and has the ambition of creating a fashion line for women of plus-size stature to be proud of. Unfortunately the investor had other plans, that Stella wasn’t on board with. At a loss she called her step-mother, which is how she landed right in the middle of the guys’ July in Malibu with a baby in tow. You want fun, you want conflicting feelings, you want sexual adventure with some romance thrown in the book is for you. It has it all! Again the author took an intriguing idea and made it a masterpiece.

I love this series! After reading book 2 Chasing Redemption I love it even more. This author knows how to pull at one’s heartstrings the right way, and to add in just enough drama/fear to keep you on the edge of your seat. One becomes invested in these characters based on how they’re written. I will also say this, though it’s a series this book very well works as a standalone novel. Max and Marley have both been through their fair share of misery in life. Maybe that’s why they are drawn to one another. Though they never expected that one night would lead to a world more. That they would still crave and what the other. Problem they don’t know who the other person is. Max never thought he’d see her again, besides hoping otherwise. But there she was, by Ellie’s side on her big day. Little did he know that not only was she walking back into his life, but an instant family as well. Unfortunately someone was out to hurt/scare Marley and Max couldn’t have that. One truly becomes invested in these characters. You get mad for them, sad for them, you feel happy for them. The author makes you feel like you know these characters personally by the words used on the page. I look forward to more potential books in this seires.

Wow!! Where does one start? You should know that this ends on a big ol’honkin’ cliffhanger! But it is so worth it. The chemistry between “Nolan” and Jack is straight up dripping off every page. They bring the heat and the steam. I can only imagine what it will be like when these two meet in some future boardroom or courtroom and the action between them is just as hot as the “action” between them. Can everyone see my eyebrows going up and down when I say that? Since this is just the beginning, I know that this series is going to be a helluva ride! Can’t wait!! Ah-maze-zing start to this 2nd generation!!

Holy Cow!! I wasn’t sure about this one but I took a chance and wasn’t disappointed. If you are unsure after the first chapter, keep reading. The first little bit really sets up the nonstop action and intrigue for the rest of the book. One might need a character list to keep track of all the people and nicknames but even if you lose track of who some of the peripheral characters are, focus on the main characters!! The ride is phenomenal. If deceit, love, hate, revenge, sexual tension, unrequited love, action, biological warfare, steam, money, honor, and family don’t do it for you, then don’t worry. We will just keep this secret all to ourselves. When you get to the point where you are saying, “How much more can one person take,” just know there is more. Take a chance. Jump right in!!

Book two of The Invisible Wand series, this story is a continuation of Caspian’s story after he receives his invisible magic wand. When Caspian uses his wand in front of his cousin, she wants one too. Luckily, Grandpa has one for her and that’s when things get fantastical: everything starts to shake. For children ages 4-8, this book centers on a family with the ability to use wands that control time. The story is short and to the point with well-paired illustrations that are easy to comprehend. The subliminal message about earthquakes/safety during one such event was placed into the story well.
I was so excited to go back to Quimby Grove so we could see how Max’s story played out and it did not disappoint! We get to meet Marley, the one who got away that fateful night on the beach, who runs into Max and shocks him with a surprise, they had twins. It was so wonderful getting to watch Max and Marley grow as a couple and find their footing together as they navigated uncharted waters as a family. Luckily we had Ellawyn and Beckett, from the first story, to pop in and lend a hand as needed. As always, the residents of Quimby Grove not only have matters of the heart to deal with, but a suspenseful mystery to deal with as well. The author did an amazing job with the flow of the story, while keeping the reader on high alert as to who the bad guy was. Numerous times I found myself internally yelling at the characters, this is who is doing all the horrible stuff, only to have another twist thrown at me. The final conclusion completely threw me for a loop! If you like steamy heartwarming romance with a dash of suspense, the Quimby Grove books are for you! I read the first book, but I think you could read this one as a standalone.
