Bees in Loretta’s Bonnet (Loretta’s Insects) by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Jenni Bishop

Bees in Loretta's Bonnet (Loretta's Insects #2)Bees in Loretta’s Bonnet by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bees in Loretta’s Bonnet is a delightful story that is educational but also entertaining. It teaches children about bees, well the non-stinging type. I’m allergic to bees so these type of bees sound right up my alley for my garden.
Loretta sure loves her insects. In this book she finds a bee nest but no bees. She is on the hunt to find them. Lois once again incorporates learning into her story. There are instructions for creating your own Leafcutter bee nest and lure bees to your garden to allow bees to hatch.
The colourful illustrations bring the story to life as we journey along with Loretta and learn about nature. The story is for children 3 – 8 years. My son and his sons are going to try this out now that they had read this story.
