Freedom Rings: Book Three of The CircleFreedom Rings: Book Three of The Circle by Brenda Hardwick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was pleasantly surprised with this book, I did not realize it was the 3rd book of a series but I was still able to follow the story line! The way Brenda Hardwick pulls you into the story with emotion, connections to the ancestors and how magic is not the easy way out but does have consequences. I really enjoyed reading about Miss. Soraya and the other witches who all had unique powers and had their own apprentices to teach. They really felt like a family; they worked at doing what was best and to protect their family throughout the book.
The plot revolves around an enemy that wants to remove their circle for good. Hard decisions are made and they can be felt by everyone in the end. This book pulls you in and takes you for an exhilarating ride!! I very much enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more books by Brenda Hardwick!

I didn’t realize this was book three until I had already read a few chapters. With that being said I was still able to get the concept of the stories. I thought it was an interesting read. I enjoyed the magic and use of ancestor and elders. It is such a common thing for black people to refer to our ancestors.

The main villain Shawn, was very well written. His pride and need for revenge got in his way. He was extremely self-serving and no one mattered but himself. And he even hated hisself because of his lineage. I plan on going back to read the first two installments. This was a good read and I recommend it to anyone looking for an ethnic fantasy novel.

This is quite an interesting book. I read this one without reading the first two books in the series so there was a bit of confusion for me on backstories and such. However, I do plan to go back and read the first two books, then this one again, for the proper context.

This book focuses on Soraya who is now in charge of leading The Circle. She finds herself in various predicaments having to go and save people, replace those lost, and strengthen the ones that she has. There is a lot of mischievousness going on with magic, a good vs evil point of view, removing people from the land due to the color of their skin, broken relationships, and so on. Not much different than what we see today (minus the magic).

The characters are very engaging and you’ll find yourself as a character in this story as well possibly. It’s hard to put down this read but, as previously mentioned, it would be beneficial to read the previous books first.

This book is a brilliant continuation of the story and a great way to conclude the series. I read the books a little out of order, reading this one first before going back to read the others. I would recommend reading them in order as I think you will get more enjoyment out of reading them however, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I loved the characters in this story and how it was told from more than one perspective. I think that added so much to the book and created a better story. I thought the storyline was really interesting. It was easy to engage with, even if you started with this book, and exciting from start to finish. I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to more of this authors work.

Freedom Rings by Brenda Hardwick sees a continuation of Soraya’s story, but it is also the last book in the Trilogy. Brenda writes stories that are unique which makes them refreshing reads.
Using her newfound powers, knowledge Soraya hopes for a better future. A future that is stronger and able to withstand the enemy. For without a united front all could be lost. Unfortunately, others believe they must be destroyed for them to unleash something that will change who you are.
It is fast paced and has everything to hold you drawn to the story. With evil vs good, suspicion and hatred, desperation and lies, ambition and power. Where friends become foes and secrets are revealed. Where sacrifice and hope will be tested. Where the suspense is palpable.
I like that we see much more into a person’s character and who they truly are as the story is told in multiple POV’s which is my preferred way of having a story told.

This is a spellbinding story that will capture you from the beginning. It is book 3 of the series. I came in at this part of the series and I have to say that I will be going back to read books 1 & 2. The characters really grab you and twist you into their world with the exciting plot going on. There is constant action going on, which is something I love in a story. It is truly a story that you should take a look at.

This is the 3rd book in The Circle Trilogy. I do really recommend reading all these books in order. I didnt read the first two so I got a bit lost in the stories and the overall understanding of the stories and the characters. That being said I will definately be going back to read them in order because this book was great. The author’s attention to detail with world and character building really brings the story to life. There is magic, and danger and a sense of good verses evil as two forces are fighting against each other. The Magical side are just trying to survive and have the right to life their lives in peace where as Shawn and his company are trying to rid the world of people that are different to them in all ways including skin colour.

This is an explosive story touching on many aspects of modern day life, with friendships turning into betrayal, someone set on destroying another person because of the colour of the skin and a group of peoples fight for survival. Its beautifully written and gripping and i can’t wait to read the Trilogy from the start.

Devlin: A Forbidden Office Romance

There is something about the “forbidden ” and Devlin and Eve do the forbidden right. The first time they explore it was pretty hot and changed everything.

Devlin comes off as arrogant which he is but he is more than his ego. He doesn’t show the other side unless you’re worthy.

Eve is driven at work and wants to be the best and when a huge opportunity arrives she is determined to take advantage of it.

This is a book to be savored and enjoyed. It isn’t one that you should rush through. Once you hat caught up into the story you will have a hard time stepping away.

Devlin: A Forbidden Office Romance was a great enemy to lovers read. Eve and Devlin are coworkers at a toy company. Eve is an independent, hard-working woman who will not let herself be wooed by Devlin’s charm. Devlin has always been attracted to Eve but understood not to mess business with pleasure. That was until he heard she broke up with her long-term boyfriend and saw his chance. Eve is not having that since Devlin is known as the bachelor with no hopes for anything but a physical relationship. What the two of them don’t realize is that the sexual chemistry just couldn’t be denied. Devlin starts to realize he can no longer deny his feelings and can’t believe that Eve made her way into his heart. There is a problem however, Devlin has kept a pretty big secret that could destroy everything, along with the fact that he is going to also be her boss. Can they keep their relationship a “dirty little secret” to save their jobs and their hearts?
I always enjoy a good enemy-to-lovers story. Both characters were very enjoyable and engaged in a no-bullshit type of way. The banter and progression of their story were romantic, realistic, and sexy. I thought Eve portrayed a character that was relatable and confident. She didn’t let Devlin in without him knowing what she wanted and didn’t. Devlin also had a way of “handling” her, he was portrayed as a confident, but not narcissistic man which came across the page as very sexy. The ending left me feeling meh. I love that it progressed to where it did, however, I feel we went from one feeling to something way beyond that. I liked that there was an epilogue but I almost wished I found out a little more about where they go.

Ooooooh I love this book! The angst, the spice…so good! Eve and Devlin are constantly bumping heads…they work together…and they’re constantly bickering. But they also can’t stop the sexual tension every time they’re in the same room. Can they keep their distance from one another or will they finally give into temptation?Book had my attention from the very first page and I finished in one sitting. If you love a good tense and angsty read, this is the one! Great characters, great plot, GREAT spice 🌶

What makes these books so entertaining for me is the way that the steamy chemistry starts off slow. It’s also steamy that you can feel it as you read each word and as it builds more, it makes you excited for the characters and their intensifying adventures or ways to keep them going. This is a sensational read. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Devlin and Eve both have their career in their #1 spot on their priority lists, that is until they start having a difficult time keeping their distance from each other. They have plenty of struggles throughout, working together, trouble communicating…plenty of twists and turns! If you’re looking for a quick, steamy office romance this is the book for you. Devlin is a businessman and a womaniser but there is one woman who has driven him insane from the first meeting five years ago, Eve.

They are brilliant as a team and with there biting banter and flirtations is just that flirting but when Eve suddenly becomes single all bets are off, the only problem there are certain rules within the office and dating a co-worker is right up there.

One night they have two much alcohol and not much sense but will one night be enough.

This book is a standalone story involving the characters of Devlin and Eve, the chemistry between these two-character jumps off the page at you and feeling of forbidden love is always on the cusp of their banter. The story although short offers you an insight into the world of these two people from the frenemy’s aspect of the story to the relationship that develops after the night together.

The story is full of action and with them trying to keep their relationship a secret is fun to read. This is not the first book I have read by this author and certainly won’t be the last.

This book had me on the edge the entire time, it was a bit of a slow build up. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t amazing! We follow Devlin and Evelyn who are coworkers, Devlin is a massive flirt and womanizer and Eve refuses to see him as anything more than her annoyingly flirtatious partner at their job. But Eve can’t help but appreciate his looks even though his personality annoys the ever-living crap out of her, but when the tension between them becomes too much and Eve’s newly single status has her in a slump. Devlin comes to the rescue by being annoyingly handsome and surprisingly caring and attentive, after one taste neither of them can get the other out of their minds and they want nothing more than to be with each other. But when their wants become a risk to their job, are they willing to take the risk? Or would they rather revert back to their safety bubbles of quietly pining for one another? Can they survive the surprises and twists coming their way?

This is a very enjoyable story. Office Romances are one of my fav tropes and this one surprised me. While I thought this was a cookie cutter office romance story it really isn’t. It has secrets and the characters have to work to find trust in each other. I really liked the characters. They are relatable and fun. I really liked watching Devlin. He liked Evelyn but thought it was a one time thing then strangely he started becoming addicted to her. He became invested in her even though she was extremely leery of a relationship with him.

Overall I read this quickly and had a nice time learning about the characters and their tics. It is a good office romance story. This is a first time author for me. She surprised me by not writing a run of the mill office romance.

Evelyn has just gotten out of a relationship that lasted longer than it should have. She isn’t looking to date at the moment, especially not her sexy-as-sin office partner. When the line is crossed and they end up spending one night together it has them both questioning whether or not there can be more. Eve is usually not the type of woman Devlin goes for but there is something about her that has him wanting more. One night wasn’t enough for either of them, but neither is willing to admit it. Eve is of the mind that it was a one time thing that will definitely never be happening again because he will get tired of chasing her soon enough. After all he is a womanizer isn’t he? Can Devlin convince her that what they had was more than one night?

I loved Devlin and Eve’s banter and most of their relationship, but I just cannot stand the miscommunication trope anymore. It makes it SO frustrating when the characters just REFUSE to talk to each other. I mean I get it, it’s hard to be vulnerable and honest, but I just felt like it was overly repetitive and then it somehow also felt really rushed. The writing itself was….there was just more to be desired. But it was an entertaining book so that’s why I gave it the stars. I loved the overall plot and the twists, it just felt like it took forever to get there. And I absolutely LOVED the spicy scenes!

This is the first book I have read from this author and she has a new fan. I love a good slow burn story but this one exceeded all my expectations. I was hooked on this story right from the beginning. You can’t help but to fall for these characters. I could not stop reading this book until it was the end. I can’t wait to see what this author writes about next.

Devlin Hughes is a businessman that always gets what he wants. He has been waiting for this amazing promotion and it is finally here. Devlin is so excited that it is finally his turn and the only rule is not to date any co-workers. He knows he has this in the bag until he finds out that Evelyn is now free. Devlin knows he can’t get into a relationship but he could have some fun. He was not expecting to fall for this girl. Will Devlin be able to get the job he has been waiting for and the girl or will he have to choose?

This book is a standalone, forbidden office romance. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author but I wasn’t disappointed.

Devlin is aiming for a promotion and he’s only got one to follow. No fraternizing. Seems easy enough- at first. Evelyn wants to move up so she’s going to take the steps she needs to, starting with this party. Going through a breakup makes things a bit challenging but she’s determined. She doesn’t count on Devlin and the last thing she needs is for them to get caught. Their connection is real but is it worth the risk?

I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Devlin and Evelyn was so believable and extended beyond the wanting want you can’t have. Definitely recommend giving it a read!

I loved reading this book. There was so much chemistry between Devlin and Evelyn. They were coworkers who actually worked very close and shared clients. They were a team. They gave eachother a hard time…it was like a game to both of them until Evelyn and her boyfriend broke up.
Devlin saw this as his chance to finally
go after what he wants. He’s in the process of taking over the company when their boss finally retires until the boss finds out just how close Devlin and Evelyn have gotten.
There was a moment when I was like what???? Never saw that coming. I thought this book was beautifully written, loved the characters, great read from beginning to end.

This forbidden office romance was so good. Devlin is cocky and the last person Eve would consider dating. Eve is someone Devlin can’t get involved with even if he wanted a relationship, which he doesn’t. They can’t deny the desire they feel. There are definitely twists and turns I didn’t see coming in this book. I just could seem to put it down.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I fell in love with immediately. This is a stand-alone book also. This is an amazing book and I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves , frenemies-to-lovers office romance.
He’s been warned, but she’s worth the risk.
Devlin Hughes is a businessman first, and a charmer second. With his sights on a big promotion, he just has to follow one rule: don’t fraternize with his coworkers. But when his sexy, shrewd coworker suddenly becomes available, his ambitions may not be strong enough to overcome desire.
Evelyn Parrish is ready to climb the corporate ladder. And planning a company function is an important rung, even if she’s reeling from a breakup. The arrogant but handsome Devlin might just be the distraction she needs… unless they get caught.
When their one-night fling develops into true attraction, it gets harder to keep their distance. Rules weren’t made to be broken, but maybe they can be amended.
I’m excited to read more of this authors books in the near future.

A fantastic read with a good amount of drama and spice. Well written and a great read if you enjoy reading a book and getting both characters’ points of view.

This book follows the story of two co-workers, Devlin and Eve. Eve is an intelligent, driven, young woman fresh out of a relationship. Devlin is the playboy, the heartthrob of the office, with a passion for annoying Eve. They have a banter like no other and know how to push each other’s buttons.

Everyone knows that alcohol can lower your inhibitions. What happens when you put a man and woman in a secluded place with alcohol and tension? Will it lead to sparks or will it lead to war? What happens when one alcohol and lust-filled night changes the dynamic between the dynamic work duo? Can one night indeed be enough when you see someone every day? How well can something stay a secret in an office that loves gossip and drama?

Read this book to find out what happens between Eve and Devlin. Their story is one for the books and hard to put down. You will fall in love and get frustrated like those in this story. Welcome to a world of what ifs and who knows.

The characters were amazing, the spice was just the right level, and the way the author brought everything to life was just perfect.
