Reckless: A Steamy Contemporary Romance Anthology by Various Authors – Review by Anastasia Dodson

Reckless - An AnthologyReckless – An Anthology by Mika Jolie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is composed of four awesome novellas by four authors. All of them are new to me but after reading this I will for sure be reading more by all of them. The novellas are titled Layla’s Chance, Dirty Martinis. Into the Depp and The Spy Who Kissed Me. All of them had fantastic characters (some were freakin hilarious!!) and I just wanted to be their friends and go have a coffee date with them. Each of the four women had something big in their lives change suddenly and none of them were prepared to deal with it. It was interesting to see how they navigated through their problems and at some points I wasn’t sure if they’d make it out on the other side. Each story is amazing in its own way and I highly recommend reading this anthology!

This is the first 3 books in the series and I absolutely loved all three of them! Each one of them is a different couple and their stories as they strive for something better. One word to describe these couples is CHEMISTRY! And a lot of it. These stories were hot and steamy and I couldn’t get enough of each of them. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and I would recommend this to a friend.

It Ends Tonight is the fourth book in the Bayou Devils MC series and they just keep getting better and better as each book comes out! Ugh the emotions with this one had me all over the place but in a fantastic way. Lucas and Quinn are the main characters in this book and they’re thrown in to each others path when a truck runs a red light. Life is turned upside down and fate may have brought them together but the past may tear them apart.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Right off the bat I knew i was going to like this book. It was creative and full of drama and sometimes that’s all a girl needs in her life. For being a novella, this book is full of detail and i thought the main characters were awesome. Tuesday runs a food truck in a small town and while out and about one day, she meets Blake at a grocery store and they hit it off. After another chance meeting they start dating. And in walks in troublesome EX. (GO AWAY HATER) The EX starts to make trouble for Tuesday and Blake and things just started to get great. Will they be able to get past the EX’s shenanigans? Will the EX get the kick in the face she deserves?
Overall i really liked this story and i am looking forward to reading more by this author. I would recommend this read to a friend.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It was fast paced and a very original story about a woman named Collie. She decides to dance and collect enough money to leave but that’s when she meets a man named Tim and he might just be her salvation.

This book is the second in the series and I highly recommend reading book one before picking this one up. It is a military action adventure series based in the future about four women as they navigate their lives in and out of the war. The characters in this book are fantastic. They’re strong opinionated women that you know you would love in real life. I laugh and I cried in a few parts of this book and I felt like I was there right alongside them for the ride! Skye is the FMC and is has has a rough go at things lately and just hasn’t had the best of luck. She has a horrible ex and is big factor in that so called bad luck. I really really really wanted to punch him in the face. But then there is Edward. He is swoonworthy! So he more than makes up for the ex! Small Town Hero (Small Town Brides, #1)Small Town Hero by Kim Koby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by this author and i enjoyed it from start to finish. This author has a great writing style that pulls you in and keeps you reading until the very last page. It was a lighthearted and easy to read romance.
The main characters name is Rebecca. She had a huge blow/betrayal to her life when she finds her best friend and soon to be husband in bed together (and to think she saved herself for that jerk). Determined to get away from the heartache she starts driving. She doesn’t stop until her car gives out on her 10 hrs away from home. Being stuck with a broken down car, Rebecca is forced to rely on a man that offers to help her. In this major twist of events could she have found the one thing she needed?
I also enjoyed all of the secondary characters in this book and loved the banter between the main characters. This may be my first book by this author but it will not be my last.

Marks of the Mazza is the first book in the Mazza series and it is off to a great start. This a paranormal romance/reverse harem and i just ate it up. I couldn’t get enough of the book and when i started i couldn’t put it down.
Isolde is the main character in the book. She meets a mysterious handsome man and feels an attraction that is hard to ignore. After a kiss her world is changed forever.
The male characters in this book are Donato, Sage, Egan and Jari. Oh Man. They are hot hot hot. Pushy typical alpha males. And of course i love them!

Jack and Jillian meet at a party and the chemistry between the two of them is instant and on fire. Someone is trying to keep Jack from meeting his deadline and that cannot happen. Will he be able to finish it on time? Will he and Jillian be able to be together? I enjoyed the interactions and banter between those two and i was eager to get to the end of the book.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it won’t be my last! This book is chalked full of angst it was almost too much for my taste. The two main characters are Lauren and Gage. They were Exes that ran into each other again and not in a good way! This story had those up and down rollercoasters of I hate him, But i still love him. I hate her, but I still love her. But with that being said, I did like the banter between them. It was funny and good banter helps me like the characters more. Even with all the bickering and ups and downs, i was hoping they were going to get a second chance. I just didn’t know if they’d kill each other before that happened.

This is the second book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack but can be read as a stand-alone with no problem. I am happy to say that I really did like this one. A lot. It was an even better story than book one and I felt like I connected with it more.
The main characters in this book are Chase and Rain. Chase is a were who hates witch’s and Rain is a witch who is cursed. Chase is charged with the task of handling the wedding cake for his Alphas wedding and who knew a task like that would end up with him finding his mate. They get off to such a bumpy start and I honestly wanted to SMACK them both. But I loved the chemistry between the two even when they wanted to deny it.

Seriously, where has this author been hiding? This book was fantastic!! I’ve read books by this author but this is by far my FAVORITE!! I couldn’t put it down and I kept on the edge of my seat to see what was happening next.
This book is about Alex and Carter. They are wonderful main characters and I felt like they were relatable.
Alex is such a strong main character. She goes through something that no one should ever go through but honestly she is stronger because of it. Even if it takes her a while to realize that. She is slowly trying to figure who she is suppose to be and what she is supposed to be doing with her life. And in comes Carter..
Man oh Man, this guy is sexy. And he’s the kind of sexy that make the ladies around him few sexy about themselves too. He wants Alex in his life, but he just had to convince her that she belongs there.
Things are rocky for them for a while. Alex isn’t sure what she wants for her future and when her ex shows up and tries to ruin everything that she’s built for herself, she might not come out standing on the other side.

This book is one that will capture your attention from the beginning and It keeps it there, making sure you are still Turing the pages.
