Ink’s Devil is the fifth instalment in Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter by Manda Mellett. This story was definitely not what I was expecting- in a really great way!! Lots of emotion, some drama, so much chemistry, and lots more.
I have loved all the books in the Satan’s Devils series, including this ‘spin-off’ series- the ‘Colorado Chapter’- and this story doesn’t disappoint. It has everything I love about this series, and Ms. Mellett’s wonderful characters. These two really pulled me into their story, I was rooting for them every step of the way. The character development, as expected, was really on point- and the character growth through the story was wonderful to see. Next book please!!

Set it Free is the third book in the Fallen Eagles MC series by T. Birmingham. This is another really well done romantic suspense- with plenty of emotion that had me reaching for the tissues. Even though this is the third book in the series, and technically could read it as a stand alone- but, I really recommend reading the other two books in the series first as this story includes/refers to things that occurred in the other book- so knowing what happened in those two books will help you better understand and appreciate this story. There is quite a lot happening here, deep issues, tormented characters, and so much angsty emotion- but as usual Ms. Birmingham orchestrates it all beautifully. It has quite a complex storyline which has been cleverly crafted into quite a captivating story. This is definitely a character driven storyline and I was fully invested in these interesting, likeable and fully developed individuals. The story has a great pace and is a quick and easy read. Bring on Book #4!

This is such a great series, really well written, clever, and completely absorbing. You can’t go wrong with a Mark Nolan novel and with this bundle you get three books for the price of one. Brilliant!

Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie is a riveting novel by Mark Nolan. Mr. Nolan has produced a truly gripping and action packed, suspenseful thriller. This exciting book has so much going on within its pages that I was bowled over, in a very good way! It contains drama, suspense, a bit of mystery, police investigation procedures, crime/criminal activities, military tactics/terminology and flashbacks, news and photo journalism references, secret organisations, sexy women, vile villains- and so much more. It is quite a long book, but it is so engrossing, I was completely wrapped up in the story; only putting it down to take care of my ‘real life’ responsibilities- and even then, I couldn’t stop thinking about the story and anticipating what would happen next. Jake Wolfe is a military veteran who is currently working as a photo journalist for a local news channel. He was following a lead on a potential story that had him ‘tailing’ a well-known lawyer, in the hope of digging up some ‘dirt’ on him. The lawyer has driven to an exclusive golf club, where Jake is witness to the lawyers’ murder, capturing the whole thing on camera and in the process he gets an image of the killer on film. The killer who is known as ‘The Artist’ doesn’t like to leave loose ends and when he realises he has been seen, he is determined to kill Jake, “the only good witness is a dead witness”. So ensues a ‘game of cat and mouse’, the killer is hell bent on tracking down Jake and silencing him, permanently! He has a kill list to work through- it’s made up of several lawyers who have been chosen to die. He takes pride in his work and wants to make the kills creative, artistic and memorable. The annoying journalist has just made it onto the list and is going to die very painfully. With the help of his best friend Terrell Hayes, a plain clothes Police Inspector in the homicide division of the San Francisco Police Department- Jake investigates and reports on the killings, while also trying to stay alive. His military training, his dog Cody and a bit of Irish luck, are the only things that stand between him and the killer. But the killer is meticulous, well planned and always seems to be able to evade capture. When you add an abusive and unhinged ex-fiancée, with a drinking problem and a penchant for snorting drugs; a sociopathic police Officer who uses their badge to bully, who can’t stand the sight of Jake and has a score to settle with him; a secret organisation with its own agenda; and an ex-military service dog with canine P.T.S.D- you find the story just ignites into an adrenaline inducing journey, full of unexpected twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat, devouring every word with bated breath. From the conceptualization, to the skilled execution in recounting his story, Mr. Nolan has managed to incorporate quite a lot into this book; such a lot of dynamic, individual and fully developed characters and plenty of action- and this is only a portion of what this exceptional storyteller has been able to capture on the pages. He has accomplished all this in his own, unique style- producing a story that flows smoothly and seamlessly from one page to the next and captivating you from the first paragraph. I wouldn’t change a thing about this book; I loved it all so much! It is a truly remarkable story and I wholeheartedly recommend reading it, you won’t be disappointed.

Vigilante Assassin is the superb second addition to the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. It is a very memorable, gripping and suspenseful read. This is a multidimensional story- with lots of action, drama, intensity and danger. We once again team up with former marine Jake Wolfe and follow his lead, as this incredible story plays out. It is set a little over a month since the last story left off. Jake is no longer working at the news channel as a photojournalist- he isn’t completely sure what he wants to do now. He has something in the pipeline, but needs to wait to see if it will pan out. He is living on his friend’s boat, with his canine companion, Cody. Lauren Stephens wakes to discover her husband is missing- with no trace of him to be found. Jake gets hired to try to find her husband Gene- but what he and Cody discover leads them down a dangerous and complicated path, full of intensely dangerous situations, all while they try to figure it all out. Lauren may not have known her husband as well as she thought she did and now she and her children are in grave danger. Jake may be a magnet for trouble, but he is also incredibly protective, especially of women, children and animals. So, he will do everything he can to protect them and keep her and the children out of danger. This is a fast paced and exciting read with lots of twists and surprising developments. This is such an absorbing read, I ended up reading it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down, I really need to know how the whole story played out! The story is told from several (third person) POV’s, which adds an extra dynamic to the whole story. The characters are so great- they are completely developed, fully realised characters with their own quirks, flaws and unique personalities. I especially loved how detailed and developed Cody’s (the dog) personality was- it’s this attention to detail that really sets this book apart from others in the same genre!

Killer Lawyer is the latest addition to the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. It is an incredibly clever, intense, gripping and suspenseful read. This has a complex, multi-layered storyline- with lots of action, drama, intrigue, humour, danger, tension, and mystery. We once again team up with former marine Jake Wolfe and follow his lead, as all the excitement unfolds. Jake has earned his law degree, and has also been recruited to undertake dangerous, covert assignments on behalf of the government. His constant companion- trusty, highly intelligent, and loyal ex-war dog, Cody, live on a motor yacht owned by a wealthy friend. When a deranged killer starts killing random targets on the streets on San Francisco, Jake and Cody are determined to hunt him down and eliminate the threat. But what happens when the killer decides to target Jake, Cody and all the people they love most in the world? This book really is worth the read to find out all the exciting details for yourself. It is a fast paced story with lots of twists and surprising developments. This is such an absorbing read, I ended up reading it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down, I really need to know how the whole story played out! The story is told from multiple POV’s ( even Cody the dog gets a say), which gives a well-rounded perspective of the developments, and adds an extra dynamic to the whole story.
So, if you are looking for a story with a gripping, well written, interesting, and very absorbing read- then this is definitely the series for you! The next book/s can’t come soon enough for me!

The Istanbul Conspiracy is the seventh thrilling instalment in the Code Raven series by Lynda Filler. This series just seems to get better and better, with each new instalment outdoing the one before. I don’t know how Ms. Filler manages to up the ante each time- but it sure makes for an exciting series. As we have discovered in the previous book/s, this series centres around the Raven Group, which is a top-secret special ops team- and each book in the series chronicles the action-packed mission/s they embark on. Even though each book is a ‘new’ adventure- there is a larger picture being woven in the background- so I would really recommend reading all the books in order to get the most out of your reading experience. All the action starts when a wedding becomes the scene of a violent attack. The Raven Group swoop in and do what they do best! Which makes for an engrossing read. This is definitely one of my favourites of the series, so far- the story was action-packed and dramatic, with danger, intrigue, suspense, twists, mystery, adventure, and gripping situations. A fantastic addition to the series! Can’t wait for more!

What a great book to start off the New Year with. It is a message I want to take forward with me through the year, and the rest of my life. This topic is one that doesn’t just touch close to home, it smashes in the front door. The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L Montgomery is a bit different from her other books- but still has her wit, humour and positive messages stamped all over it. This book is like sitting down and having a coffee and chat with a close friend. It lays everything out and doesn’t pull any punches- but in a really helpful and uplifting way. It gives inspiring advice, helpful hints, motivational quotes, and even a kick@ss playlist to go with your new attitude. So, if like me, you have struggled with body image issues, and loving the skin you’re in- then this is definitely the book you need to help adjust your mindset and give you the positive inspiration to move forward with a new perspective and respect for yourself. Naomi is the second book in the Maggie Trilogy by the talented Mya O’Malley. It is a fantastic paranormal suspense- with an intriguing storyline that hooked me right from the beginning. I really recommend reading “Maggie”, the first book in this series- as it has a lot of backstory, character information and other relevant details which would give you a better perspective of what’s happening here- and enhance your overall reading experience of this book. The story is dramatic, thrilling, and completely captivating. It has a bit of a darker, more menacing feel than the first book, as Naomi deals with a more dangerous ghost- when her past comes back to haunt her. Things take an intense and threatening turn. While Maggie and Bryce’s relationship is put to the test. A fantastic second instalment! The best part is the entire trilogy is available to read now, so no waiting between books. Well worth the read!

Second Chance is the third and final instalment in the Flowers in December trilogy by Jane Suen. I really enjoyed the first two books, so I was really happy to find that the third book had arrived. It is everything I could have hoped for as the conclusion to Connor’s story. A lot has happened since we met him back in book one. This sweet story is all about second chances- with a very realistic and believable storyline. Ms. Suen definitely saved the best till last, as this is my favourite of the three books, for sure. Even though you could read this story as a standalone, I really recommend reading the first two books before beginning on this one- as all the backstory and other relevant information is contained in those books. As with the other two books, Ms. Suen had me hooked quite quickly and kept me engaged the whole way through. It is a short story, which makes for a quick and easy read. For such a short story, it definitely leaves an impression. Looking forward to what ever Ms. Suen decides to do next!

Master’s Rise: Book One is the first book in the Phoenix Series by L. Ann Marie. This is the first book I have read from L. Ann Marie, so I really wasn’t sure of what to expect from her. I always enjoy exploring new-to-me authors, so I grabbed a copy and jumped right in. The story took me a little while to ‘get into’. I felt like I was missing something, and the flow was a little slow to begin with. But once I found my groove and adjusted to the style- the story flowed much better. This is a descriptive and detailed MC story- with drama, action, violence, chemistry, and more. The brotherhood and comradery between the characters was great, which added to the whole ‘feel’ of the story. There were also some lighter, humorous moments which helped to balance the overall storyline. L. Ann Marie has quite a long list of books to her name- and I am surprised that I had not found her before now. I will be adding a few of her other books to my TBR to explore in the near future- as well as keeping my eye out for the next book in the series to see where it takes us.

This is his story of how he discovered who his birth parents were, and how they defied the church, and society with the love they shared. This was an interesting story. Told from the perspective of Joe Steele, their son. A story of how love always finds a way, and doesn’t discriminate. Well worth the read!

The Ash Park Series Box Set contains the first three books in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. I have read all the instalments in this series to date, and I can tell you that series just goes from strength to strength, each book delivering an intense, gripping, dark, and intense read. This box set is a great introduction to the series, three books for the price of one! Brilliant!! This box set contains “Famished” (Book 1), “Conviction” (Book 2), and “Repressed (Book 3).
Famished (Book 1) Famished is the first book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. It in an intense, dark, gory, clever serial killer thriller/crime novel that had me completely gripped in its hold from beginning to end. There were times I thought I should have looked away, closed the book and stopped reading because it was quite shocking and disturbing in places- but I couldn’t, I was glued to the page, heart in my mouth, on the edge of my seat trying to piece everything together and figure it all out before everything was revealed. But, wow- I did not see THAT coming, at all!!! Ms. O’Flynn spun a brilliant web of intrigue, mystery and danger- cleverly choreographing everything into a riveting story and keeping me guessing right till the very end!!
Conviction (Book 2) Conviction is the second instalment in the gripping Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. I am really enjoying this series, as it has all the elements required to make it a great thriller. This second book could be read as a standalone, but as it has recurring characters, and some backstory from the first book- I really recommend reading book one before embarking on this one, so you get the entire picture and the ‘complete’ experience. The story is quite suspenseful, and the author did a great job of creating tension and building anticipation. I was trying to pick up any clues and piece the puzzle together to figure out what was happening and solve the mystery. Ms. O’Flynn has woven a compelling story, full of interconnected details, multiple layers, intrigue, danger, mystery, drama, thrills, and chills. She kept me guessing the whole way through. Conviction is set about a year after Famished and we get to catch up with Shannon Taylor, Eddie Petrosky, Curtis Morrison and a few other characters who we met in book #1. Ms. O’Flynn gave this story a flavour all its own- and it’s a fantastic follow up to Famished.
Repressed (Book 3) Repressed is the brilliant third book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. WOW! This book was intense, dark, disturbing, chilling, graphic, dramatic, and gripping!! This psychological thriller is a superb addition to the series and had me swinging between never wanting to put it down, and needing a break from the tension and suspense. I was glued to the pages from beginning to end, reading it in one sitting- and absolutely loved every mind twisting minute. The series has been such a fantastic read, and this book just took the series to another level. I didn’t think it could get any better, but I was wrong! This book could be read as a standalone, if you wanted to, but there is a recurring cast of characters and snippets of backstory and previous plot information that pop up in this book, so reading all the books would give you a bigger picture and provide a larger, more developed perspective- which in turn will enhance your overall reading experience. The books are all really great- quite intriguing and suspenseful, so you it’s really a win-win situation! I knew when I met Curtis Morrison back in book one that there was going to be so much more to him that what he was letting on, or what we were being shown- and man-oh-man this story really unveils him in a raw and revealing way! His story was startling, intense, emotional, and unforgettable! He has been through so much and come so far, but his past just won’t let him forget! After the harrowing events in the previous book, and Curtis and Shannon getting married and having little Evie, this book picks up with them adjusting to parenthood, Shannon trying to manage with Postpartum depression, and Curtis returning to work after a month off. Things are never simple in Ms. O’Flynn’s world, because it’s not long before we are once more swept into another brilliantly twisted tale. This is definitely the best out of these first three books!
If you like crime thrillers on the dark side, with intense storylines and heart-pounding twists- then this is the series for you!

Singles and Other Singularities (The woman Scientist Trilogy 2- The Italian Saga) is the latest offering from Gaia B Amman. This series has slowly worked its way under my skin- and I can’t help being invested in these great characters and the outcome of the story/series. Reading from book one and following along on The Italian Saga, I have enjoyed seeing the characters evolve, grow, and develop along the way. It is interesting- Ms. Amman’s descriptive and detailed style creating an entirely believable, and relatable cast of characters- and situations. I like how well rounded they are- this is definitely a character driven storyline. Looking forward to more!

Renegade is the first book in The Mercenaries series by Raven White. This is the first book of Ms. White’s that I have read, so I was curious as to what I might find between the covers. This is a romantic suspense- with danger, mystery, opposites attract, Alpha males, and a sassy leading lady. This is a tried and true recipe, which Ms. White has put her own spin on. It is fairly predictable, but enjoyable nonetheless. I really feel that the story could use a little more development and depth- which would make it an even better read. There were intriguing and suspenseful moments, and the chemistry between Eliza and Renegade was off the charts. So, if you like your stories on the spicy side- this definitely fits that bill. The story definitely got better as the story evolved- but there were parts where the flow was disrupted, and the story lagged from time to time. I am intrigued by where this series is headed, so will be keeping my eye out for upcoming releases: Hacker (Book 2) and Sensei (Book 3) are listed as releasing soon. Alpha Male sexiness meets sassy leading lady- and the sparks fly!

Tanuja Ramachandran: Hunter-Seeker by Kumar Sivasubramanian is a crazy and at times, madcap, action adventure. It felt like “Machete” meets “Monkey” (TV series) then mixed with high octane Anime, and all wrapped up in a Bollywood action movie. Add in a quest for revenge, a fast pace, violence, an unorthodox covert operative/mercenary, roller derby, mutants, and narcolepsy- and it was one heck of a crazy ride. I read this book a few days ago and I am still thinking about it- and wondering how I really feel about it. There were times I laughed out loud. Other times were intriguing and intense. There are a lot of characters, quirky and interesting (some with very hard to pronounce names), a fast pace, and a LOT going on- so there were a few confusing moments for me. And times where I was pulled out of the story while I figured out how to pronounce a name. This is just me though- and others probably won’t have these same issues. It didn’t detract too much from my enjoyment of the story though. Very original!!
Recall is the brilliant sixth book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. The amount of tension, suspense, shocks, and brilliant twists, surprises, and puzzling situations that she manages to infuse into each story, really makes me sit up and take notice- always unpredictable right up till the end- whilst delivering a heart pounding, stomach clenching, and mind-blowing read.

Somebody In the Neighborhood is a murder mystery by Judy Moore. This is the third book of Ms. Moore’s that I have read, and I have enjoyed them all. The story is essentially a murder mystery, with a whodunit quality to the storyline. There is of course murder- intriguing mystery, some action, danger, plenty of suspense, drama, secrets, and surprising developments- which had me trying to predict the outcome and ‘whodunit’, before any revelations. But Ms. Moore once again kept me guessing through the entire book, twisting and turning the plot while I attempted to piece everything together to try to figure out what was going on. The story was quite detailed and descriptive, and really well woven. Ms. Moore had no problem leading me in any direction she required- while also enticing me further and further into her story. She built the suspense and tension superbly- and had me anticipating the outcome. The characters were well developed, interesting and somewhat quirky individuals. They added to the whole ‘atmosphere’ of the story- and made it all the more intriguing. Definitely looking forward to more from Ms. Moore!

Misplaced is the much anticipated second book in the Joined Series by Mara Gan. I have been anticipating the release of this book, waiting to continue from where we left off in book one. To say I had high expectations would be an understatement! I adored the first book and couldn’t wait to dive into this one. I am so impressed by this exciting second instalment!! It is everything I could have hoped for, and more!!! The story picks up a little after the climactic events at the end of book one. Meda awakes on a remote beach- with no memory of where she is, how she got there- or anything else for that matter- except for knowing her name. I won’t go into too much detail here, because I don’t want to spoil the story for you. But what ensues makes for an exceptional, and spellbinding read which any real fantasy lover sure won’t want to miss. As it is a continuation of the story from book one- I really recommend reading the first book before beginning on this one. There is a lot of backstory, character introductions, and other important information contained in Joined (Book One), which I feel you need to know in order to fully appreciate this book. This book has so much going for it- it has a bit of a Greek myth feel to it- but with an originality all its own. It’s a mystical and suspenseful- with mystery, drama, danger, action, adventure, brilliant world building, superb characters, intriguing storyline, choreographed beautifully, with real historical facts sprinkled throughout the storyline to add an extra element of interest to the whole thing. I can see Ms. Gan put a lot of time, effort, research, planning, heart, and soul into this story- and it really shows- setting this story apart from many others in the same genre. As I mentioned in my review for “Joined”- the characters are really superb! They’re so well crafted, complex, and incredibly endearing. Ms. Gan’s world building skills are top notch- she has built an entirely believable, vividly detailed, rich and fascinating world in which to set her story/series- right down to intricate backstories, histories, and even languages. The story is elaborate, and multi-layered- with so much happening, I was on the edge of my seat. That ending!!! I NEED the next book NOW!!! I CAN-NOT-WAIT!!!! My mind is reeling with possibilities- anticipating where the story is heading!! It’s set to be EPIC!!!

Hidden Obsession is the second thrilling instalment in the Alliance Agency series by Maddie Wade and India Kells. As I have said previously, these ladies are two of my favourite authors, so when they team up to write a book, I just know I have to read it, no questions asked!! I am really loving this series- right from the gorgeous covers, to the superb writing, and all the intense action-packed and gripping storyline(s)- featuring such fantastic characters- so, colour me hooked. Like the first book, this is a romantic suspense- with intensity, action, danger, a stalker element, emotion, secrets, thrills, tension, intrigue, mystery, drama, chemistry, surprises, interconnected details, complexity…. and much more. The authors built the suspense, tension, intrigue, and drama superbly- holding me in the story, right on the edge of my seat a lot of the time- and kept me guessing the whole way through. These two ladies definitely know how to weave a gripping and engrossing story, that’s for sure! The authors styles definitely complement one another, as the story is a really well written and polished piece of work-and is a testament to the authors writing skills and compatibility. Now, I can’t wait to get my hands on more! Fantastic!!!

Rule is the first book in The Larussio Legacy series by Via Mari. It is a fantastic romantic suspense- with lots of drama, action, danger, secrets, passion, intrigue, spice, threats, twists and turns- and really superb characters. I have been working my way through Via Mari’s books, and have really enjoyed them all- so, as you can imagine, I had pretty high expectations for this book. Via Mari definitely didn’t let me down, producing a captivating story, which kept me engrossed the whole way through. There is plenty of suspense, and Via Mari built the tension to quite a high level- keeping me on the edge of my seat a lot of the time. There were a few unexpected developments and twists which kept thing quite interesting and had me clamouring to know how it all played out. I loved that we get to revisit characters we’ve met in previous series, whilst also meeting new ones as well. I can’t wait to see where this series will lead!! Bring on Book two!

The Traveler: Chimera Rebellion is the first book in The Book of Eleanor Series by Shannon Nemechek. It is a time travel fantasy- with magic, mystery, witches, history, war, love, suspense, drama, action and adventure. This has the feel of “Outlander”, but with a flavour all its own. I really enjoyed this first book and am looking forward to continuing with the rest of the series. Katie Butler is a Major in the US Army- and she has no idea that her love of old books will catapult her on an adventure through time- and to a date with destiny. While on leave, Katie hears of a rare book which piques her curiosity and she is determined to track it down. This leads to her to being swept back in time- and smack bang into the middle of a war- crossing paths with Captain Colm O’Donnell. This twist of fate will be revealing in more ways than one. Will she find a way back ‘home’, or will fate intervene? This is a fast-paced story that’s full of intrigue, excitement, surprises, and some suspense- which kept me hooked, and flipping pages to discover what would happen next. The characters are fantastic, they are really well crafted into fully realised individuals who have a great connection and chemistry. I loved the time travel aspect to the story, it was quite cleverly done. The story is detailed and very descriptive- so wonderfully woven with rich and vivid historical elements. This book is such a great way to start the series- I can’t wait to read the next book!

A Song to Remember: A Crescent City Wolf Pack Novella is the third book in the Mystifying Music series by Carrie Pulkinen. It is a fantastic paranormal romance- with werewolves, witches, second chances, betrayal, danger, supernatural elements, mystery, suspense, drama, and plenty of sizzle….. and once again set against the vibrant, colourful and mystical backdrop that is New Orleans. The characters are really fantastic and really made this story come alive. They were really interesting and very well developed. I loved Shane and Bekah, they were so great, I was full on board right from the beginning, and cheering them on the whole way through. As I have said on more than one occasion- Ms. Pulkinen is one of my favourite authors and I have developed a severe addiction to her work- but, this is one addiction that I am more than happy to indulge- no rehab needed, ever! Looking forward to whatever she has in store for us next!

Naughty & Nice is the fourth book in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. This is such a fantastic contemporary romance- with quite a lot of surprising elements to the story. Ms. Alexander takes all the stereotypes of contemporary romance and turns them on their head. This book is anything but the usual trope we may be used to. She introduces a few little twists of her own- and adds her own ‘spice’ recipe to the mix, to really hold our attention. This story is everything I had hoped for, and much more. It’s naughty, nice, sweet, and spicy- with drama, surprises, humour, discovery, chemistry, and a wonderful romance. Natalie Roux is the event planner at Spicetopia, the ‘adult’ theme park- and her first big event is the owner’s wedding. No pressure, right? She is determined to make this the best holiday wedding, ever! But when she meets the minister who arrives to perform the wedding ceremony, she realises that it’s not going to be so easy staying on task. How hard could it be though? It is only for a week. Micah Green is about to discover a whole lot more than he ever imagined, when he agrees to officiate at the wedding. The week is about to get very interesting. What ensues makes for a captivating read- and is one of Ms. Alexander’s best books yet! I sure hope there are more books planned for addictive series!! Bring on Book 5!!! Amy’s Santa is the first book in the new Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation series by Manda Mellett. As the title alludes, this is a second generation series- following the children of characters we’ve come to know and love in the previous series. And even though you could read this book as a standalone, I recommend reading the previous series first- as a lot of background information, character details, and relationships are revealed in those books and knowing all that information will put you in a better position to understand and appreciate this book. This is an MC romance story, and as such it is full of protective bikers, secrets, violence, pain, angst, banter, comradery, action, drama, emotion, sizzle, danger, suspense, and more. After having loved the previous series soooo much, I had some pretty high expectations for this book/series, and I was so curious about this story, and the direction it would take us. So I jumped on it as soon as I saw it appear on my recommended book feed. Ms. Mellett definitely doesn’t disappoint. If you have been following Ms. Mellett’s previous series, or if you love a great MC story, then you will definitely want to read this book! In this book we get to catch up with some of our favourites from the previous series and see what’s been going on at Satan’s Devils MC in the time we had not been privy to. But this book is essentially Amy and Drew’s story. Amy has loved Drew for as long as she can remember- but life got in the way and they headed in separate directions. Amy has come home for Christmas, a little broken- and with secrets she’s trying desperately to keep from being found out. Will fate finally bring these two together? What happens when secrets are revealed? As I have said before, and as expected from Ms. Mellett- this book had a great plot, with surprising developments to keep things really interesting. But, again, it’s the characters who really make this story good- and the book (and previous series) definitely wouldn’t be the same without the cleverly crafted and complex individuals who whisk us along on their journey- making you believe in them, invest in them, and cheer them on the whole way though.

The Earl of Darby (Wicked Earl’s Club) (Wicked Earl’s Christmas) is the fourth book in the Once Upon a Widow Series by Aubrey Wynne. I am really loving this historical romance series- they just seem to get better and better with each new release. There is plenty of drama, action, a little danger, some humorous moments, suspense, second chances, secrets, lies, intrigue, historical detail, passion, a little mystery, and of course- a wonderful romance. Ms. Wynne proves herself to be an incredibly good storyteller- painting vivid imagery full of wonderful attention to detail. She brings her stories to life, giving her reader a very immersive experience. There was quite a lot going on in this book- but it was all superbly orchestrated into a smooth, captivating, and very enjoyable read. Like with all her books, the characters are really well crafted- becoming ‘real’ individuals. This gives the whole story an extra level of believability. They were so easy to like, or detest (as in the case of a certain character)- again proving Ms. Wynne’s writing talents. Being able to get a reader to invest in some characters, while detesting others- is no easy task. But Ms. Wynne manages this, easily. So, if you love regency romance, historical detail, wonderful characters, and a story that will pull you in and engage you from beginning to end- then this is definitely the book for you! One of my favourites, for sure!

Jolie has a few secrets of her own. She works two jobs trying to make ends meet- taking care of her responsibilities is her number one priority. Sparks fly and the heat rises. But what happens when secrets are revealed? You really need some Sugar & Spice in your life to find out all the delicious details for yourself! This was such a sublime introduction to the Spicetopia world!
Virtue & Vice. Virtue & Vice is the second book in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. I though the first book was sexy- but this one turns the heat up even more- but still with the wonderful depth and substance Ms. Alexander is known for. This story picks up from book one- so I would definitely recommend reading the first book, Sugar & Spice, before jumping into this one. Cy and Jolie, from book one, play an important part here- but it is Moon and Katja’s perspectives that really drive this story. Cy’s idea about an ‘adult theme park’ brings these four together, in more ways than one. Plans come together, and their ideas are flowing. They will all need to work together to bring their dreams to life. Add plenty of spice, turn up the heat, sprinkle some emotion, and blend a great storyline into the mix- and we have the recipe for a captivating read. The story has a few surprises thrown in to keep our interest heightened. As well as having a lot of erotic moments throughout the book- with swinging/ménage, light BDSM, and plenty of ‘adult fun’ to be had- so don’t say I didn’t warn you. A fantastic story, with great characters- makes this a superb addition to the Spicetopia series!
Fire & Ice. Fire & Ice is the third instalment in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. Fire & Ice is my favourite of the series (so far). I know I say this with every book Phoebe Alexander releases, but I can’t help it, her books just seem to get better and better- as each new book slightly eclipses the one before it. This is such an engrossing romantic suspense- with an enemies to lovers element to the story, as well as drama, action, mystery, intrigue, humour, spice, passion, BDSM, and erotic fun. The story has a few surprising developments thrown in to hold our interest. This was definitely one book I wasn’t putting down till I’d read every word. This book follows Neve Romano and Enya Moore. Neve is ex-military and the new head of security at Spicetopia. He is the ‘strong-silent-type. A man of few words. Disciplined and controlled. Holding people at arm’s length, gives him a cold-as-steel facade. This makes him the complete opposite of Enya- a chatty, friendly ‘people-person’, (and at times fiery) redhead, who is perfect as the Director of Public Relations. Her personality grates him and makes him shake his head. She thinks he has a huge chip on his shoulder. They’re oil and water. With the Grand Opening of Spicetopia fast approaching, someone is hell bent on Sabotaging the whole thing. Neve and Enya are thrown together to try to figure things out and get to the bottom of it all, before it’s too late. And things are about to heat up!!! Another addictive addition to the Spicetopia series!

Summer Break: A Joe Football Novella by Autumn Sand reunites us with Brice and Favor from “Joe Football”. I enjoyed the first book- so catching up with Brice and Favor for this story was an added bonus. It could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading Joe Football before beginning this book- as there is a lot of backstory and other important information that is worth knowing in order to enhance your reading experience of this book. This is a short story, with a fast pace- which makes it a very quick and easy read. Though it may be small in size, there is nothing lacking about the story, or content- there was a lot packed into a small space and it felt like a much longer story (in a good way). Brice and Favor have been through so much, and are taking a much needed break. We follow along as these two travel to New York with their friend Egon, who is playing in a band. But just because they are off to have fun doesn’t mean it will all be smooth sailing for them. Looking forward to more from Ms. Sand.

I spend the next twenty minutes transfixed by his grace in the water, enjoying what appears to be his natural talent for surfing. But then he looks up and spots me. He’s straddling his board, in a lull between waves. I can see his grin even from this distance, and I’m mortified to have been caught watching him. He, however, seems amused as he raises a hand and flashes the hang loose sign. I finally turn away, wondering what I was doing staring at this surfer boy.”
Hula Girl by Lara Ward Cosio was such a fun book to read. I love the ‘Rogue’ series, but this is a little bit different, and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it as much as the previous books- but HOW WRONG I was. This has turned out to be my favourite read of hers, ever!!!! (well so far, anyway) It was a little slow to get going, for me- but not too far in the pace picked up and things started to get very interesting. I ended up staying up well past bedtime, just so I could finish the story and know how it all played out. I really needed to know if Surfer Boy gets his Hula Girl! The story is a sweet vacation fling with a bit of a twist- it is flirty, fun, and romantic- with just enough drama and angst to keep things interesting. The chemistry between Ava and Ford was enough to steam up the screen on my kindle- and made for some sizzling reading. It is set against the picturesque backdrop of Hawaii, as well as the taking us to the concrete jungle of LA. I loved Ford and Ava and I was rooting for them right from the moment they laid eyes on one- another. They really were so perfect for each other, even though them seemed such opposites to begin with. I loved their story- and Hula Girl will be hard to beat. So now I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Ward Cosio comes up with next, just to see if she can top this! Happy Reading!

Magic Borne is the third book in The Crown of Stone Series by C.L Schneider. This is such an intriguing and action-packed high fantasy- with adventure, magic, time travel, tragedy, sacrifice, questions, discoveries, tension, drama, originality, superb world building, suspense, and fantastic character growth and development. I definitely didn’t want to put it down till I had discovered how everything played out in the end. This book sees the completion of Ian’s story- and what a journey it has been. Ian Troy had been through so much- and has borne the weight and price of the magic. All the pleasure, as well as the immeasurable guilt that has come with it. Ian wants a life of freedom- from slavery, suffering, and tyrannical rulers. Ian has carried a heavy burden, the hope of his people lays on his shoulders. So much hangs in the balance- and the outcome of his success. Ian has made some discoveries and finally learned what he has to do. He will need to destroy The Crown of Stones in order to free the people in the realm. Sounds pretty simple, right? But is it? And at what cost? You really should read all the intriguing developments for yourself- it’s definitely an adventure you won’t want to miss. I really recommend reading the previous two books first, before starting this one- as those two books contain important backstory, character details, and the developments that have led to this point. So, knowing what happens in those two books will enhance your understanding, and enjoyment of this book. I really recommend this book/series to anyone who loves an epic, action-packed fantasy! Superb!

Magic Scars is the second book in The Crown of Stone Series by C.L Schneider. As with the first book, this is an action-packed high fantasy- with adventure, magic, tension, drama, originality, brilliant world building, suspense, and so much more. I loved the first book, and couldn’t wait to continue the series, reading all three books pretty much back to back. The story starts off a couple of years after the events in book one. Ian Troy had been imprisoned, tortured, and drugged to suppress his magic. He is ‘battle-scared’, both physically and mentally. The world he returns to hasn’t fared much better than him- suffering at the hands of the new High King. Ian is the only hope of freeing the people, and so there is much at stake. He carries a heavy burden of responsibility but struggles to piece his life back together again after what happened. What about The Crown of Stones- and what of his connection to it? His addiction to magic is also a problem. So, he starts searching for the answers he needs- delving into the past to find them, where he uncovers ancient secrets that have shocking implications, not just for him, but for his entire race. What price will the magic cost him this time- and will he find the resolutions he is looking for? Again, this is pretty dark and heavy- and I was left really feeling for Ian and what he had been through, and what was still left for him to endure. Ms. Schneider world building skills are really superb, with so much attention to detail that it seemed so realistic and believable. This fantastic series is really epic, and oh so intriguing. I very much enjoyed Ms. Schneider’s unique and very imaginative adventure. There are still a lot of threads left to tie up- but don’t worry everything comes together in the next book- Magic Borne (Book Three), which is available now to read. I really recommend this book/series to anyone who loves an epic, action-packed fantasy!

Burning Greed is book two in the DI Tanya Miller Investigates series by Diane M. Dickson. This is a crime and investigation story- with police procedural elements, drama, suspense, some intrigue, tension, and some fast-paced ‘action’. This may be the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. The cover and the title really drew me to this book, and as Ms. Miller is a new-to-me author, I was also excited to explore her work. Having now read this book, I will definitely continue with the rest of this series, as well as going back and reading book one. The story follows DI Tanya Miller as she investigates her latest case. One of arson and murder- but Ms. Dickson doesn’t stop there- adding another mystery for Tanya to solve, one that hits close to home, as her niece has gone missing. So, this book is really more like two stories in one- with plenty going on to hold your interest. The story is well constructed, with an intriguing plot. There were surprising developments which I didn’t see coning, and I was left guessing ‘whodunit’ right till the reveal. I found it a little difficult to connect with Tanya at the beginning, which frustrated me, because I always want to feel drawn to my MC’s and invest in them and their story. But little by little, I began to warm up to her, and by the end I came to understand her much better than at the beginning. I am hoping that as I continue the series, I will be able to invest in her more. But don’t get me wrong, this didn’t prevent me from enjoying the story and trying to predict how everything would play out in the end. I look forward to reading the rest of this series, as well as exploring any other work/s by Ms. Dickson.

All the stories focus on the theme of ‘first responders’ from Firefighters, to Police Officers, EMT’s to Collision Investigators, and dedicated Emergency Dispatcher- are just a few of the many first responders who play a part in this fantastic book. We get to see these everyday heroes as ‘real people’ with real issues and emotions. We get to look behind their professional mask, to the person behind the ‘job’. I really thought the authors did a great job of showing their characters vulnerabilities, quirks, and flaws. It made them all quite ‘real’, and entirely believable. It also made for some emotive reading which tugged at my heartstrings. There is s define spicy element to the anthology too, which will keep you warm while you are reading.
