Another excellent book I have been waiting for from Storm. I really enjoyed the storyline and finished this book quickly! I especially enjoyed the character development into Emery as she was only a side character in the first of this series. And talk about SPICY! I will be taking cold showers for a week after this one.

Caine (Men of Syn, #2)Caine by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book 2 in the Men of Syn series. Caine is wanted for murder. He runs to his longtime best friend Hawke. Caine needs to find enough evidence to clear his name or make enough money to leave the country. He starts working in Hawke’s members only BDSM club to make some quick cash. What he doesn’t anticipate is the princess that crosses his path. Emery is used to the best of everything, until her father is arrested and all his assets are seized, which includes everything Emery owns except for her car and a couple suitcases of clothes. The first contact between Emery and Caine there is heat.
I love the intensity between Emery and Caine. She can feel his eyes on her even when she can’t lay eyes on him. Even though Caine is a dominant, Emery can’t help but let her bratty side show, even when she knows there will be repercussions. Will the secrets they are hiding from each other be too much for them to overcome or will the feelings they have for each other win? I can’t get enough of the Men of Syn.

Caine by Anise Storm is the second book in the Men of Syn series, this is an utterly fantastic follow up to book one and is quite possibly even better. After reading the description fully expected to not really like this book – spoiled rich girl Main characters aren’t usually my favourite. However the author did such a good job of creating likeable characters that I couldn’t help but fall in love with them.
This whole book felt exciting. I’m glad I read them in order – although this could be read as a stand-alone – because it felt like I got a much better grounding for this book. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for book 3!

The Men of Syn are downright sinful for sure. I fell head over heels in love with the series with book one, HAWKE, so when I saw book two was available I scooped it up faster than you could say one-click. These reads hit all the sweet spots for me when it comes to dark and delicious romance that makes me blush as I read but has me coming back for more every single time. Once again in CAINE we are brought back to the BDSM club of SYN to get the story of Caine, a sexy dom on the run and up to no good for sure. I loved his story and couldn’t possibly think he would have gained higher love than Hawke but I was so wrong and he quickly became one of my absolute favorite characters that Anise Storm has written that I have had the pleasure of reading so far. I cannot wait to see what else this series will hold and who we will get to meet and fall in love with next!

Caine is the second book in the Men of Syn series. Caine is a sexy, tattooed and pierced man on the run from a murder charge. Emery is a spoiled society princess who has not had to work a day in her life… until it all comes crashing down on her. Lucky for her, Caine is there to help her out.

I liked this book. There was less BDSM than I expected, considering it is partly set at Syn, but that didn’t detract from it. A few things in the sequence of events seemed a bit odd, but overall it was a good story.

Wow, this book was absolutely fantastic!!!!!!

I loved Hawke and Charlotte’s story, but Emery and Caine? Chef’s kiss!

Honestly though I absolutely loved the dynamic and all the things stacked against them/bringing them together. This was an absolute perfect start to my September reads and I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy dark romances. Anise Storm did a fantastic job with this continuation of the Men of Syn series and I can’t wait to read more!

After loving the first book in this series I was really looking forward to getting started on Caine and it didn’t disappoint. It was everything I was expecting – dark, exciting and very sexy! I loved Caine and Emery’s story – brilliant from the very first page until the very last, I wasn’t actually sure I was going to like Emery, it did take me a whole to warm up to her but I enjoyed seeing her evolve as the story progressed and seeing how the relationship between her and Caine changed also.
This is definitely a recommended read from me!

I’ve been excited about this one! I enjoyed reading Hawke, so had high hopes for what came next from Anise Storm and her Men of Syn. We met Emery in the first book, but she wasn’t sitting high and mighty living off Daddy in this one. Fallen princess meets dominant Caine. Trying to lay low, Caine is working to clear his name. What happens when their worlds collide? Steam, possession, love and secrets. I loved the growth in Emery by the end, and dare I say… I loved Caine even more than Hawke!

If you love Hawke and Charlotte in book one, you are going to love Caine and Emery in book two. The backdrop of the book is corruption at a high level. Caine reaches out to his long time friend Hawke for help when he has to run from Washington DC.

Caine is wanted for murder and Emery is left penniless when her father is sent to jail. The trouble these two find themselves in is linked together unbeknownst to them. They meet at Syn Hawke’s BDSM nightclub. Sparks fly when these two are together.

I loved that author Anise Storm kept the characters from the first book in the second book with more than a passing reference. If you haven’t yet read this series. I highly recommend them.

Caine is book two in the Men of Syn series by Anise Storm. Dangerous, delicious and dastardly are just a couple descriptive words to convey just a tad of what this book captured. Anise Storm is a masterclass storyteller and her words draw you in and captivate endlessly. Caine, all round bad guy, and Emery, the princess, make a very intriguing couple. Their path was paved in passionate and powerful clashes. Both have battles to fight, and as they learn more of one another, their feelings blossom into ever after together. I hung off every word and the fast paced story kept me breathless and hungry for more. Caine has left a lasting and heartfelt memory, and left me feeling ready for the next drama. 5 stars.

Caine is the second book in The Men of Syn Series by Anise Storm. I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book ever since devouring ‘Hawke’ (Book One). So, to say I had high expectations would be a bit of an understatement.
Caine is on the run and is offered sanctuary at his friend Hawke’s BDSM club, SYN. (We met Hawke back in book one and got to see some of the inner workings of Syn back there). Being wanted for murder means he needs to keep his head down and keep a low profile until he can clear his name. But things take an unexpected turn when he encounters Emery.
Emery’s life was turned upside down in an instant. He ‘perfect’ world destroyed when her father is implicated in a scandal. Her life as a rich, spoiled society princess crumbles and she falls from her throne- all the trappings of her former life are gone, and she’s completely broke. Emery is determined to find a way to clear her father’s name and regain everything they lost. Then she meets Caine who brings his own complications to the mix. Get set for one heck of a hot and steamy ride here. Add in more than a few secrets that threated to destroy everything as well as bringing danger and intensity into the already combustible mix. This has taken my ‘Men of SYN’ addiction and amped it up to a whole new level!
Can’t wait to get my hands on Book #3!!!

Thank you, Anise Storm!

Caine (Men of Syn, #2)Caine by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Caine by Anise Storm is the 2nd book in the Men of Syn series. In this installment, we follow the story of Caine, who has run to Denver to escape false accusations of the murder of his father. Here is turns to his friend Hawke, who helps Caine by offering employment in Syn, the BDSM club. This is where Caine meets Emery Wilder, a socialite living off her fathers wealth who’s never worked a day in her life. Emery is taken by surprise when she is removed from her penthouse home due to her father’s criminal accusations that freeze his assets. Emery is left with only some clothing and her car, which breaks down late at night in the middle of no where. Caine comes in as her savior this night and they grow a relationship that is steamy and unique. I enjoyed this book better then the first one mainly because of the characters. Emery at first is a spoiled girl but she grows into the situation that she found herself in. She wasn’t down on herself the entire story and I appreciate a character with growth. Caine is a protector and his love for Emery shines through. Great series by Anise Storm.

Caine (Men of Syn, #2)Caine by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd  book in the Men of Syn series. I really love these  books. I love the dark gripping side along with the romance which catches you by surprise. The characters are really well written and your opinion of them changes as the book progresses.

Caine is running away from his life in D.C. After his father is found murdered and he becomes prime suspect. He runs to his mate Hawke who gives him somewhere to work and lay low while he tries to solve the murder of his father.
While he’s there he meets Emery. Emery is a princess who lives off her daddy. She thinks she’s above people and her attitude stinks. Emery thinks she has her life sorted until her dad is arrested for drug trafficking charges and all his assets frozen. Now Emery is homeless and broke and the person she turns to is Caine.
What starts out as a way to distract herself and give her a bed for the night becomes so much more as the couple get to know one another and their relationship grows.

However things aren’t that straight forward and when Caine realises the connection between his fathers murder and Emery’s father’s incarceration they need to work together to solve the cases.

This story is gripping and a real page turner. You want the couple to be together and happy however sometimes the skeletons that are coming out could be to much for the couple to bear.

I enjoyed this suspenseful romance story. This is the second book in this series which is just as great as the first one if not better. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the first word. Her characters are unique and steamy. They are connectable and they brought the story to life on each page. They made the story fun and easy to read as well as hard to put down. I enjoyed their growth and chemistry throughout the story. The author’s use of details made their story realistic. This is Caine and Emery’s story. Find out what happens when these two have a chance meeting on a stormy night. You don’t want to miss this one, it is worth the pick up. This is a great story that I really enjoyed which I highly recommend.

Caine (Men of Syn Book 2) by Anise Storm is one book I have wanted to get my hands on after reading the first book Hawke. Anise has written these perfectly imperfect alpha men to give us a sexy, titillating and thrilling read. He is on the run and headed to his friend who owns the BDSM club, SYN to hide out. She has gone from an entitled princess to broke overnight. What ensues is hot, steamy, explosive and downright dirty. Secrets from their past threaten them both and will it be too much and keep them apart? I really enjoyed these two and even in the midst of trouble they are fun and their witty banter will have you smiling.
I said it when I read the first book and it is true after I have read this book but I cannot wait for more Men of Syn.

Hawke (Men of Syn Duet) by Anise Storm – Review by Katrina Evanochko

Hawke (Men of Syn, #1)Hawke by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hawke is the first in a BDSM romance series, Men of Syn. Nathanial “Hawke” Hawkins is the owner of Syn, a BDSM club opening in Denver. He hires Charlotte Maxwell’s company to plan the grand opening party. Neither of them realize at first that they actually know each other through a BDSM club in another city the previous year.

I did not like Hawke at first. He is abrupt, rude, and dismissive of pretty much everyone around him. He did grow on me, and learning about why he acts the way he does helped, as did the development of his character. I liked Charlotte immediately, and even though she is submissive in the bedroom, she is anything but outside of that. I liked her independence and fire. The chemistry between Hawke and Charlotte is real! They are like 2 objects being pulled together by gravity.

Overall, I liked the story, but there were a couple things I had a hard time with. I felt their emotions developed fairly quickly, especially with all the conflict. The part in the hotel room also made me a bit uncomfortable. Despite that, I still liked the story and am glad I read it.
[The knife part in the hotel room made me uncomfortable and the speed at which feelings developed when there was so much conflict bothered me a bit. (hide spoiler)]

Despite that, I still liked the story and am glad I read it.

Hawke was a great read! This is definitely a dark and graphic romance story, with some possible triggering points for people who have went through abuse in their life. I couldn’t stop reading this book. Once I started I couldn’t stop. It completely enthralled me. While I felt some of the storyline was drug out and wishy-washy, I also feel like it added to the story. This a completely thrilling romance that will keep you in its grip the whole read. Hawke (Men of Syn Book 1) by Anise Storm

This is the first book I’ve read by Storm. Hawke had me hooked from the beginning. Hawke is the first book in the Men of Syn Series.

Hawke is opening a club in Denver. He has a party planning company plan his grand opening. When he realizes who she is, things change drastically. The quote I chose for Hawke is: “I don’t want you, Charlotte. I never did, but it doesn’t change anything. You’re ingrained so deep under my skin that no matter what I do to you, I can’t get you out from beneath it.”

Charlotte goes to meet her new client and thinks he looks familiar. When she realizes who he is she has to decide if she wants to work with him or not. The quote I chose for Charlotte is: “Have you ever met someone who could push all of your buttons? If so, that would be Haeke. He’s so damn arrogant. I just want to knock the smirk right off his face. The problem is he has the uncanny ability to neutralize me with a single kiss.”

Highly recommended for Dark Romance lovers.

I had to read this book twice, TWICE. To wrap my head around it all – and it literally only got better the second time around. Charlotte Maxwell plans a club opening for a BDSM Club called Syn, but of course the owner of the club Hawke had taken personal interest in her. We follow the two watching them work and grow together. On top of the totally steamy scenes we also get a fantastic dynamic between the two of them, and their own personal character stories. While Syn is opening, there is a serial killer also in Denver. But, the killer might be closer to Charlotte than she expects. This book had me hooked from the jump. I would highly recommend to anyone! & I cannot wait for more books!

Wow! I stayed up into the wee hours of the night because I couldn’t put it down! Literally from the time I started the book to the last page, I didn’t put it down. I loved Hawke. A tragic and tortured hero with an awful childhood will break your heart and make you scream. At the same time, you will totally understand his issues. I didn’t connect as much to Charlotte, but loved her insistence. It isn’t a light read, but I felt the author handled dark subjects very well. The plot and romance were believable. I look forward very much to the next book with Caine’s story.

Dark, Spicy, and absolutely Thrilling!

This book is not for the faint of heart, please check the trigger warnings before reading. With that being said if you love a dark spicy read this book is it! The chemistry between Hawke and Charlotte is absolutely palatable. He’s dark and twisted thanks to his past while she is sweet and full of light, throughout reading it’s clear opposites attract. I loved that BDSM was integral for the story. Then the fact of the thriller aspect was fantastically thrown in as well. What a rollercoaster that was. I feel like I loved and hated Charlotte and Hawke both, but somehow in the most enjoyable way. Most of the time I wanted to throttle Charlotte because she just kept crawling back for more. But…. I loooooooved it! And stayed up much too late devouring this story. Hawke is dark, with scars so deep he thinks there is no hope for him. Charlotte is impulsive, and even though she drove me nuts at times, she did what Ryder told her. She fought for him, even when she probably shouldn’t have. This is steamy, and will make you hate and love and blush, a wicked convocation. Read it!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hawke by Anise Storm is the first book in the Men of Syn series. I took a chance on a subject I’m not too familiar with but I’m glad I did. This story leads you into the BDSM lifestyle and how love can be found within. I really enjoyed the character of Hawke and uncovering how he became the dominant. He is a broken soul who feels he is undeserving of good and love in the world. Charlotte was only a decent character. I found her to be a bit too “bad things happen to me too” type of persona and just did not vibe with her rich girl ways. She was a bit needy in my opinion but maybe that is why she makes a good submissive. The story itself was fun to read but the suspense thrown into the mix came late into the storyline and didn’t really make a huge impact on the overall love story. Overall, very satisfied with this read.

Hawke is book one in the Men of Syn series by Anise Storm. A new author to me, Anise Storm’s writing quickly became a very interesting addition to my ever expanding library. A creative and imaginative author capable of sinning a sinister and mysterious tale full of intrigue, passion and seriously hot characters. Appealing to my love for the alpha male and dominant men, Hawke ticked all the boxes and sent every single sense tingling.

The story grasped my attention instantly and had me gasping. Each character was complex, especially Hawke. Each scene well executed and thought out. Each sexy moment meant to create shortness of breath and spine tingling bliss. Not ever quite knowing what the next turn of the page would bring, this story was engaging, captivating and unforgettable. Hawke and Charlotte had history, worked their way past it and created memories and paved a new path to HEA. A thrilling read that satisfied and mesmirised. 5 stars.

Hawke (Men of Syn, #1)Hawke by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Steamy enemy to lovers, second chance, BDSM novel.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Hawke, as this was my first book by Anise, and I was pleasantly surprised. I think I’m gonna like the world of Syn.

Hawke has just moved to Colorado and is opening up a BDSM club after finding success in other cities. While there are some obstacles he will stop at nothing to have the Valentine’s Day kick off party go off without a hitch. Charlotte may be a rich girl, and the only daughter, but she’s not your typical soon to be trophy wife. She owns her own business and enjoys working. Little does she know when she takes a job to plan an event it’s for a man who literally left her hanging and unsatisfied.

I enjoyed the push and pull between Hawke and Charlotte. Hawke is more of an Alpha-hole, as well as Dom, and doesn’t come across as likable at first, but he quickly grew on me. The attraction between Hawke and Charlotte was palpable, but of course they had to fight it.

I enjoyed the build up of background characters, meant to whet the appetite for more to come.

Trigger warnings for abuse and self-harm.
