This is an intense dark romance which is a very quick read, but one that will stay with you. I would recommend checking the trigger warnings before reading. The storyline focuses on an unhealthy relationship which spirals and results in physical domestic violence. For such a short book it really had me hooked. The feelings and emotions of the couple at the heart of the story really came across in the narrative. The suspicion that was felt was particularly powerful. An intriguing and emotional read, but one which I would recommend as long as the triggers are considered first.

I read this book ages ago and have recently re-read the series and it still hits all the places you want it to in your heart. Although I know how the series ends I was still routing for the main characters and digesting as much as the book as quickly as I could. I have been a fan of Anne Mercier since 2016 and I would recommend you read the whole series and other books she has written.
The secondary characters are brilliant and add to the depth of book and the arc these characters go on, my favourite is Sera who is a brilliant delish complex character and of course Xander who is everyone’s favourite screw up but we all love him.
Jessie is the perfect combination of complex and venerable for you to hold him in your heart and want to cuddle him but adding in Lucy and her sassy, strong attitude but seeing the warmth beneath her is just brilliant to read.
Please carry on with this great series and enjoy all the characters as they come to life on the page and you would love to be a part of the family they create.

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series, I was looking forward to this latest edition and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed being back with Emma and Jeremy as they have a new mystery to solve. The couple are now having to juggle new family responsibilities with their undercover investigations. When a friend’s family member is murdered Emma and Jeremy investigate. However, things get complicated when they discover that multiple suspects are looking for money that the deceased may have been hiding. Emma and Jeremy once again have to use all their skills to solve the case. This series has just gotten better and better, and I love being back with Emma and Jeremy who are like old friends now! I was transported back in time by the descriptive narrative along with the added historical details. As usual I felt immersed in the story and was hooked by the intriguing storyline, whilst the plot twists kept me guessing. An enjoyable and engaging read.

James Moore is happy in his life, after solving one of biggest cases of him and his partners case against the mafia they are propelled into the limelight. With cases building up he is so busy, but when Tessa asks for his help he can not refuse there is just something about the baker that has him is a twist. So as the work on finding her stalker can he keep his mantra of “don’t date the clients” or will he go to the beautiful woman.
Tessa is happy building her bakery up and with the popularity growing she is in her element but there is something not quite right, when she discovers she has a stalker and the police can’t help her who can she turn to but the handsome PI James Moore. James decides to help her but as they work closely together there chemistry is off the charts but although they are attracted to each other he has a rule of not getting involved with his clients but when they start blurring the lines it becomes worth the risk.
This the first story I have read in this series and with this author and I can say I will reading more. The story can be read as a standalone and you can follow the back history of the main characters and get the gist of what they have done.
I loved the character of James with his relaxed and work obsessed life until Tessa comes into his life. The dynamic between Patrick, Evelyn and James is lovely to read and shows they really care about each other in the story. Even when James is trying to stay professional you are willing the two of them to get together.
The twists and turns in this book are brilliant to read and will have you at the end of your seat, the suspense is just enough to peak the interest and get you carry on reading til the very end. The characters are well developed and the story is brilliantly written, I will definitely be reading more.

Beth is a independent strong woman, she has closed herself off to everyone but when Scott comes into her life at first she is trying to push him away but can he wear her down and help her recover from her past.
When Scott sees Beth he knows he has to find out more about this woman but with him being stonewalled at every turn can he penetrate the walls of heart to see he wants her and be with her. Slowly he starts to see the true woman inside and how vulnerable she is but with his love can they survive and work through it.
This is the third book in the series and although can be read as a stand alone it is probably better to read the first two books in The Predator series as it does cover some of the story and two be honest it is a great series as well.
These two characters start off as enemies but as Beth starts to see Scott is a good guy it becomes more intense and in depth to read. Beth’s character is a dull on sassy bad a** but you start seeing the vulnerable side too her which is great to read and gives Scott the insight to her. Scott’s character is a brilliant equal and complement to Beth’s character and this had me turning the pages to try and see what happens next.
This is a novella so is short but we are not short-changed on the brilliant writing and plot to make this book a thrilling read. I recommend reading the other two books you won’t be disappointed.

This is a cute, quick read. I read this to my grandkids before bed(ages 8,7, and 3). They laughed, chuckled and even helped me read it. We loved the illustrations and the rhyming. It took us 5 minutes or so to read this and the youngest asked me to read it again. Tricia Gardella has done a fantastic job on this once again. Definitely love reading her books to my grandkids. Seems she pulls from personal experiences with her own grandchildren.

Wild King is the second book in the King Brothers Series and is New Adult Romance that will have you turning the pages till the end. This is a Enemies to Lover’s/Billionaire Romance. Kellan is a Bad Boy and he has earned the title fairly. What started out being a three day weekend uninterrupted turns into so much more. Salem should have high tailed for the hills but she allowed herself to be seduced by the bad boy. She thought she was safe not sharing her name but man oh man foes gate have something else in mind. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m ready for more from this Author.

Lady Claire of Chevlain is a young woman who harbours a secret, a curse which impacts heavily on her life and as such, she has struggled to mind a match, however, she does have plenty of options for an arranged marriage. Unfortunately for Claire, her curse is the ability to see the future of those who come into direct contact with her, but the following fatigue and the visions themselves leave her exhausted, especially when they are not the positive kind and so she keeps this ability under wraps.
Trian is a member of the Royal Guard and is very good at his job, but he also harbours a secret, it is Claire, from the first time he met her, he fell hard, even if she has no idea, but he embraces any chance he gets to spend with her. He is also the younger son of a popular family and so needs to pursue his marriage match, especially when it is made clear he has a time limit to convince her to marry him before someone else is arranged for him.
One day, Claire is travelling across the Kingdom to her home of Chevlain and Trian is elated when he is chosen to accompany her as her personal guard and this is where their friendship begins. As they spend more time together, they learn a lot, both factual and familial and the more time that they spend together, the closer they become, especially when Claire discovers that her visions are quiet when he is around and this is a godsend.
Unfortunately for the two, just as they are falling further for each other, their group is attacked and Trian is badly injured, the motive for the attack becomes clear when Claire is kidnapped and taken to the rival land of Nifolhad. As she is kept captive, the only people she can rely on are the women of the Fenhri Temple as they hold information and teachings that Claire is supremely interested in, as well as thoughts of Trian. Will she be able to escape the court intrigue and dangers which surround her in this opposing court to her own, or will she escape and return to her homeland and hopefully her love waiting for her? This is an epic fantasy with a romantic undertone where emotions run high, intrigue abounds and life is complicated as you follow the lives of those within this fantastical tale.

Notebook Mysteries ~Art of Deception is a Historical Crime that will pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till you’ve finished. This series just keeps getting better and better with each new addition and this one may be my favorite yet. I got cozy on the couch and pretty much read this in on sitting. I had to know what was going to happen next. Emma and Jeremy are back at it again but this time they are faced with new family jobs and uncover an investigation. These two are my absolute favorite characters I’m always thrilled to see what they are up to. This story is packed with action, mystery, suspense and so much more. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m already looking forward to the next book by this author.

This is a great book and my first read from this author. I did not want to put this book down and was totally drawn to the characters of Reaper and Avi. Can I say, I LOVE a strong willed, kick butt female character and Avi was it! Reaper had my heart…a hero in my eyes and loving the challenge of a strong woman. When two people meet with different pasts…one looking for a better life and thinking family was everything and the other getting over physical wounds and also a bit of a broken heart, this leads to a great, fast paced story with plenty of drama, danger, greed with sacrifice, the true meaning of family and plenty of love.
I loved this story of Reaper and Avi…and looking forward to reading more from this talented author.

I have read the other 2 books in this series and I was simply unable to put them down, so I knew before I started this 3rd book it would probably happen again! and yep it did because this was yet another extremely well written and creative storyline. Neferet, Bener-ib, and friends are at it again! I know I have said this about this authors writing multiple times before but this story truly comes to life in your minds eye as you read it, thanks to such vivid descriptions, that truly make you feel like you are really there. What can I say about another great instalment in the Predator series, I am really enjoying each book Brooke writes, I am also giving this book a 5-star rating. This instalment is about Scott and Beth. I love how their characters have grown through their own story. Beth has told KC past secrets but then there are also some that she has held on to. Beth’s life went from bad to worse when her mother left the family, leaving her with an abusive father who had plans for her that no parent should ever have for their child. Beth decided that she needed to make plans to get her out of the life that she has now. Luckily for Beth she had a lovely neighbour who wanted to take her in but they both knew that that plan would never work, so her neighbour lied and said she was her grandmother so she could change her name. This is how Beth came about and how she came to be in Denver. While in Denver she met KC in the supermarket when KC went into labour, since that day they have been like sisters. After Chamberlain came back into KC’s life to make her happy, he moved Beth to Boston to live with them. Chamberlain helps Beth get into the boxing scene under the Predator group. Unfortunately for Beth Scott becomes her trainer, Beth has never taken to Scott and dislikes the thought of being around him all the time. Fast forwarding to now for Beth, she is in her first season in the featherweight division. She is also taking the featherweight division by storm, currently Beth is going so well she is undefeated, that is until the day her father finds her when she is out having a run. Beth is taken hostage by her father and two other men that is with him causing her to lose her first fight. Before being taken by her father she meets up with her mum after she has been absent from Beths life for years. Beth also notices that her feelings for Scott have changed and as much as she would like to let him into her life, she knows she can’t. How can he begin to love her when she is so broken?

The Rebirth: Part One is Book #1 in the Planet Amazon series by Crystal Dawn. It is a sci-fi romance with plenty of action, adventure, danger, agendas, high stakes, intrigue, mystery, and more. While also being a bit of a journey of discovery/self-discovery. There is a fate, predestined feel to the adventure/romance- soul mates finally finding each other. The story has a bit of a Stargate Atlantis x Zena Warrior Princess vibe. The author has given her own spin on the whole Atlantis and Amazonian mythology. The world-building was intriguing, and this story should have ticked all the boxes for me as it is a genre I normally love. But unfortunately, I just couldn’t connect with the story or the characters, and therefore I was unable to fully invest in the characters or the outcome of the story. I will put this aside to read again before continuing on with the series- as maybe I was just having an ‘off ‘reading day with this book. So, stay tuned… Happy Reading…

Art of Deception is the seventh book in the Notebook Mysteries series by Kimberly Mullins. This is an intriguing historical mystery with challenges, crime and investigation, agendas, danger, action, drama, family, friendship, treasure, fun, and adventure. The ‘mystery’ of the story is based on a ‘real-life’ scam called The Priest Scam/Man of the Cloth- which the author explains at the back of the book. I found this to be quite fascinating and it gave the whole story an extra element of interest for me. I have been really enjoying this series and look forward to each new addition. The series goes from strength to strength, with each new addition bringing something ‘new’ to keep me engrossed. Again, Ms. Mullins grabbed my attention right from the outset, pulling me in and keeping me immersed in all the adventure as I followed along to find out how everything would play out in the end. As I have mentioned before, the books in the series could be read as standalones, if you really wanted, without feeling like you are missing anything major. But having said that, I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, as I feel that knowing what happened previously will give you a greater appreciation of the stories, characters, and other important details- which will then enhance your reading experience of this book. This book makes a magnificent second installment of the Heart & Hand Series! The first book in the series was wonderful and yet somehow, the author surpassed themselves with this continuation. It is the perfect fantasy romance with Lady Claire and Trian as our main characters. Lady Claire is such a strong, intelligent female lead that goes through multiple trials and tribulations as she develops into someone I admire! Trian has inevitably fallen in the deepest love with her, but will he be able to break through the walls she has put up? I highly recommend picking up the first book in the series before starting this one. If you love the fantasy romance genre, this is right up your alley! This is the second book in the King Brothers series and it is absolutely amazing! Kellen and Salem are incredible characters. It is very apparent that the author spent an extraordinary amount of time developing them as they felt like people I knew in real life instead of just people on a page. Poor Shank! Shank is a Jack’s dog, and he scratched, and they assumed he had a flea. After all his friends came up with remedies, poor Shank had had enough! This is an adorable book for ages 3-8. The illustrations are remarkable!

This book didn’t disappoint, the author has done it again. This book draws you in from the first chapter and keeps you guessing until the very last page. This is Claire’s story and you find yourself on the edge of your seat rallying for her. This has a slow burn romance with magic, action and suspense. You will not be disappointed in this book and I can’t wait to read the next in line.

Web of Evil (Hani’s Daughter Mysteries) by N.L. Holmes. This is the second book in the Hani’s Daughter Mysteries and even though this isn’t my favorite genre, I’m loving this series. They are so good and very hard to put down once you start them. It’s the continuing story of Neferet and her friends and this time they are trying to solve the mystery of the body that was washed up on the river bank. As Neferet and her girlfriends set out to solve this mystery they encounter all kinds of shady characters and are putting themselves in harms way while they are doing it. This is set in Ancient Egypt and the writing is so well done I actually felt like I was there. There is mystery, intrigue, crime, murder, secrets and lies. Get ready to sit on the edge of your seat as you read this great murder mystery. Its one of those books that will keep you thinking about it long after you are finished!
Allow yourself to get swept up in this great read!! It’s obvious that a lot of time and attention to detail have gone into writing this epic fantasy read. There is a play on words in the title, even though it’s not to a depth that I would have thought. There is mystery, intrigue, lore, and of course, romance to keep you captivated from the first to last words!
This is the second book in a series. This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend going back and reading the first book as well!

This talented creative author has done it again with a great storyline and wonderful characters that draw you in right from the start and have you totally on their side. This book brings us the story of Scott and Beth who we met in previous books so while we kn0w a little about them this book brings their lives into focus and we understand so much more about them especially Beth who has so much more to her than you would first think from the other books. I liked her in the first two books but definitely needed more which I got here. Scott and Beth have a strong connection and he is very determined to be hers and work out her secrets so he can help her. I loved that about him. Definitely read the first two books of the series as it will help you fully understand things better.

Once again the mystical world of Aurelia came vividly to life in this epic, sizzling slow burn fantasy romance. I was gripped by book one so would personally recommend reading it first, however this can be read as a standalone story. Lady Claire has a secret, that she can ‘foretell another’s fate’. Claire is determined to never fall in love due to this curse. Then she meets Trian, a shy nobleman assigned by King Godwin to escort her across the realm. When Claire discovers he is immune to her powers a friendship develops. Claire then finds herself falling in love, however, her fears come true when Trian is attacked. Claire is taken to the dark kingdom of Nifolhad by assassin’s. In order to survive and with hopes of returning to Aurelia Claire ally’s herself with the mystical women of the Fenrhi Temple. She soon finds herself in the middle of the battle for Nifolhad’s throne, but help then comes from unexpected places. To return to her home and to her loved ones she must embrace her curse and think of it as a gift. The descriptive narrative brings both the characters and setting to life making me feel immersed in the story. The epic storyline and exciting plot twists had me gripped throughout. Whilst the slow burn romance between Claire and Trian kept me happily turning the pages. I look forward to book three!
