Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi Series Book 1) by C.A. King was a thrilling read that had me hooked.

Not my first read by this author, so I was excited to see this little wonder appear. The cover captured my attention (as does all the covers for this author) and once I read the synopsis, I was hooked, line and sinker.

As I am a fan of horror, and fantasy, this was a pleasant mix that really kept me reading. The detail was to shelf as per-normal with this author, and the story telling alluring. This book takes you into a darkness that has a bit of realism to it, making this read all the more heart pounding. The tone and flow matched and helped with keeping you not only engaged but on the edge of your seat.

Original and fresh this book is a must read, so please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will not beadle to put this book down, or look at certain things we eat, the same way again.

Happy Reading

Flower Shields by C.A King was a fun and great read. I would give this book a five out of five stars. I loved Tara’s character, she is down on her luck and needed something to work out. I really was rooting for her from the first page. I was interested in the back story that was presented, I really liked C.A King’s twist. I enjoy God, Demigod, Angels, and Demons paranormal stories and those characters really came off of the page for this one.

The story Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C.A. King is a paranormal/fantasy book. It is a story that will find you turning pages to find out what happens next. I enjoyed reading about the character of Uriel. He is one of the four horsemen. He wears a cowboy hat and doesn’t back down when conflict occurs. Bekka is a woman that loves music. She, however, doesn’t socialize very well. She wasn’t exactly nice when she met Uriel. She then meets a gentleman. Her meeting with both of them turns her world upside down. Will Uriel be able to help Bekka? Bekka has a choice to make. One that can change lives. Read this book to find out the full story of Uriel and Bekka. This book has action and danger. The story is written in such a way that I felt like I was right there with the characters. I also enjoyed that reading about the additional characters in the story. Some of them have been brought forward from the first two stories so they are familiar. Don’t miss out on a book that will take you on a journey that is exciting and intriguing. I highly recommend reading it.

This is my first book by C.A. King and while fantasy is not my go to genre, this was a pretty good story. It does not have a happy ending but instead it ends making you want to know what is going to happen. I look forward to book 2 and checking out other stories by this author.

The plot of this story is different and interesting. Losing all the fish in the ocean is believable, sad but still believable…the part of Evil Sushi, however not so much. The characters seem to be down on their luck thanks to big companies and government taking over everything. I look forward to seeing if the tables turn in the next book.

Fans of fantasy will sure to enjoy this story.

Meet the four horsemen: Michael, Gabrielle, Uriel and Raphael.
For centuries their sole purpose has been guarding the sealed gates to hell. Without keys, there was never any real threat. That was about to change…
Uriel could pass for a cowboy – straight out of an aftershave commercial – at least in appearance. With a trusty lasso at his side, he’ll take on all comers in a fight to the finish in order to prove his worth. There’s no heading home empty-handed, when he already lives in the shadows of his siblings. A couple of days and a handful of puns is all he needs to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Bekka knows exactly what it’s like to be invisible and has her best friend, Veronica, to thank for it. All her life, she’s been too frightened to seize the moment, especially when it came to her music and love. A chance meeting with a cowboy, and then a gentleman, turns her world upside down, leaving her with a choice that changes all of their lives.
Personalities clash and secrets are revealed in this third installment of the Four Horsemen Series.

This book is yet another thrilling example of a suspenseful, thrilling tale filled with fantasy and detailed imagery. King is at the top of my must read list these days. I have read a few novels by this author and once again she did not disappoint me. For me, Evil Sushi was almost a commentary on what life on earth could be like if we continue on our current path, minus the murderous sea monster of course. Evil Sushi has everything every good fantasy novel needs. It has suspense, a villain, a hero, and love. I cannot wait for the next installment of this series. If you are wanting a fun read, I gladly recommend Evil Sushi.

Evil Sushi by C.A. King is the first book in the new Evil Sushi series. I was excited to read a new series by this author because I have enjoyed everything I have read from her in the past. What happens when two fishermen make an amazing discovery which can change the world as we know it? This is a crazy ride which combines tales of old and reality. I was wondering where I was going to be taken next. There are some crazy moments and some which had me a bit spooked. Overall this is a fun ride and I look forward to more in this series to see where C.A. King goes next.

I have a bookshelf in my “library” (my husband calls it my hideout) that is dedicated to paperbacks written by this author. I love her books and and often wonder how her imagination comes up with some of the stories.

EVIL SUSHI is the first book in a new series. It has a very interesting premise, one which has very real aspects to it (over fishing and corporate greed, climate change, weird fish) and some fantastical aspects also (oh please let them be fantasy and not reality). This is a very detailed read that I could visualize while I was reading along. There is great character development and world building along with so many other elements that I could go on and on but I don’t like to “recap” the entire book.

I will say that this is one of my favorite books (WHEN LEAVES FALL being my absolute favorite) that I have read by this author.

I absolutely recommend this story!
I look forward to the next installment in the series and may never eat Sushi OR Sashimi again.

Evil Sushi by C.A. King is a unique thriller where things go bump in the night. It’s like one of those movies where you watch it behind your hands but it doesn’t make any difference and it doesn’t go away. If they aren’t zombies and they aren’t the walking dead, what the h*ll are they? Beware what you don’t understand.

This chilling read will leave goose bumps on your arms and you find yourself checking the shadows and under the bed. I knew there was a reason I don’t eat seafood!

I will not give anything away as I want you to envision each and every bit of it all on your own.

4 Stars

I have read many novels by C.A King and loved them all. This book was weird but in a good way. The concept was so original, I loved it. The story takes place some time in the future. Humans saved the animals and the climate but destroyed the ecosystem under our oceans. By not eating meat, people overfished to compensate and now there are barely any fish left. In a small town on the Eastern Coast, two fishermen trudge out to sea in hopes of catching something to at least feed their family. What happens next will definitely take you by surprise. Excitement soon turns to trepidation and eventually leads to horror. With everything happening in the world today, can this be a possibility in our world? Although the book is fictional, it does make you think. Looking forward to seeing what happens in part two.

Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi Series Book 1) by C.A. King was an excellent read. I loved the characters and the plot of the story. I liked that this book took pollution and issues with climate change to the extreme to create a world almost completely void of ocean life. It made for the fascinating creation of the Evil Sushi. The characters of this novel really brought out the craziness that could happen with a shortage of different resources and the consequences.

This author definitely brought forth her creativity with this novel and the characters. I had no problem following along as the story progressed and I cannot wait to see what happens in book two! Such a fun fantasy novel! I highly recommend it.

Evil Sushi is the first book in the incredible new series, Evil Sushi, by the very talented C.A King. This is such an original and clever story, unlike anything I have read before. It has elements of paranormal, sci-fi, horror, action, dystopia, adventure, thriller, mystery, and suspense. With environmental and political issues and agendas, discoveries, grudges, fishing with a twist, danger, good vs evil, small town setting, conspiracies, desperation, greed, secrets, pandemic, mutation, anger, mistakes, hidden agendas, merpeople/mermaids, fishermen, monsters, and enough intrigue to keep you hooked right till the very end.
This is such an imaginative, unique, incredibly detailed, and well written story. Ms. King has a very compelling and dynamic style- full of vivid descriptions and woven with lots of texture and complexities. Her scene setting and world creation is quite superb, and her words have a ‘visual’ quality to them, which brings anything she writes to life. Because Ms. King has mastered so many different genres, and her books always have a bit of a twist, I never really know exactly what I will be getting into once I embark on one of her stories. But I am always guaranteed of an engaging and fascinating read. And one thing I know for sure after reading most of her extensive catalogue of books, is that her imagination knows no bounds, and she seems to have a limitless well of wonderful ideas and storylines to draw on and inspire her creativity. She never ceases to amaze me.
The story definitely entertained me, but it also really made me think, by highlighting current environmental issues and giving possible future outcomes to ponder- then adding plenty of surprises, a few twists, some humour, and just a dash of crazy into the mix.
I had a lot of fun reading “Evil Sushi” and discovering this threat to humanity- and am very intrigued to see where this series is headed now. Bring on “Sashimi”!!!

Thank you, Ms. King!

CA King is an author that I only discovered relatively recently but she has certainly catapulted to the top of my must read list. Everything she writes is fantastic – with strong story lines and interesting characters. This book is exactly what I have come to expect from her.
I will admit the blurb didn’t exactly grab my attention. However knowing how good her other books have been I jumped straight into this one. The story was crazy in the best kind of way. It had me on the edge of my seat a few times.
This is clearly the start of yet another amazing series from this author and I am already excited for book 2!

The story Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi Series Book 1) by C.A. King is a supernatural thriller. It is a book that I found entertaining and mysterious. It has suspense, danger, and strange situations that defy reality. Just what is Evil Sushi? Is it a fantasy, fiction or a prophecy as to what many come to pass? I enjoyed reading about many of the characters in the story and some of them I came to care about what happened to them. Others have their own agenda and plans in which they will do anything to make them a reality. The story pays tribute to the horror tales that are told throughout time and had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. What will happen to the characters in the story and Evil Sushi? Read this book to find out. There are moments that I found to be suspenseful and others that I had to shake my head at what the characters did. Don’t miss out on a thrilling tale that is bound to keep you up until you have read the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

Flower Shields by C.A. King a four-star read that gets a star for each horseman. This is the first story in the Four Horseman series, and I need the rest of the series as I need to know more. I love this author as the stories are super quick to read and always pack a punch, they start on the first page and don’t let up, usually that would mean that you miss character development but it’s not the case with this author. This is definitely a paranormal fantasy read with a little romance on the side, rather than a primary romance. But the story is good, and the writing is great.

New from award-winning author, C.A. King – Meet the four horsemen: Michael, Gabrielle, Uriel and Raphael.

For centuries their sole purpose has been guarding the sealed gates to hell. Without keys, there was never any real threat. That was about to change…

For Gabrielle, protecting mankind was merely a job for which she received little credit. The vast insecurities of men altered history itself, portraying her as a masculine brute. Taking a back seat to her brothers seemed the right thing to do, but left a bitter taste in her mouth and an impenetrable barricade shielding her heart.

***********

Ryder bounced around the system from the moment both his parents were killed. Between that and run-ins with the law for crimes he never committed, it seemed the whole world was conspiring against him. Never growing attached to anyone was rule number one: a rule he’d never broken until a white-haired vixen, with blocks of ice on her shoulders, walked right into his life. Melting through those frosty layers became all that mattered, even if that meant sacrificing himself in the process.

This new battle is a race to see which side locates them first.

Michael couldn’t care less about the love story behind how and why the world was created. In fact, nothing matters to him other than keeping the gates to hell closed. Another good book by this author. I always like reading shifter books with a twist. Something that is a little different than the norm. And this one did not disappoint. My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dangerously Close To Extinction (Knollville Legends Book 1) by C.A. King was a pretty okay read that kept me reading.

The first book in a new fun series, I went in with an open mind and excitement. As an avid reader of this authors works I knew I was in for something original, twisted and action packed. I will say that this book hit most points, but it did, for me, lacked a little when it came to the romance. But I think that more so had to do with the fact this book is a pretty short read. Coming in at 184 pages, there was a lot packed into this wonder, so I believe the love-development might have suffered because of that. To be a little blunt, it felt forced and a little off balanced, but I believe and hope that as this series goes on, it will even out. Just needs a bit more time for it to fully become believable.

Overall this book is worth your time and the read. It’s well written, well built, and it will hook you. It has a strong plot, that stands on its own, and the action and shifter lore was on point. To end, this book gets my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

Dangerously Close To Extinction (Knollville Legends Book 1) by C.A. King was a fun and exciting fantasy novel. I loved Tawny and Felix and the variety of shifters in this novel. The author did an amazing job and was very creative with them. I also really enjoyed the plot and felt that the storyline was easy to follow. The reader is immediately pulled in at the start of the novel with the mention of Tawny’s dad disappearing. The story progressed quickly from the start which made it difficult for me to put down.

Something else I enjoyed about this novel was the artistic cover. It was very appealing and I felt like it drew me in and helped increase my interest in reading the novel.

Its the story of Anthony Puma and his daughter named Tawny. Tawny is a young woman who has 2 rival gangs after her only to get to her father. Tawny is also a WereCat and she has no idea. She also has no idea why people are after her dad but when all these secrets from her past start coming to light it begins to make sense. Throw in one of the guys after her being super hot and throws a whole new spin on everything. This book is full of shifters, werewolves, dangerous adventures and its for sure a page turner. One genre that I really enjoy is books that are about the supernatural, including shifters. I find them interesting. So, as I began this book, I was curious to find out how this book by C.A. King would explore this genre and would there be anything new and surprising that I had not seen before. I was pleasantly surprised, this author did manage to introduce something new into the mix. For me, it was too short. I wanted it to go further. I will be on the look out for the next installment of this universe because C.A. King left me wanting more.
