Finding Hope: A Small Town Beach Romance (Half Moon Bay #1)Finding Hope: A Small Town Beach Romance by Erin Brockus
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hope is down on her luck when her bf breaks up with her and she loses her job all within a couple weeks. Her sister enters her into a contest without her knowledge, to win a tropical scuba resort and Hope wins! Her sister has to convince her to take the plunge and step out of her “predictable” life, but she finally agrees to accept her winnings and move to St Croix. She meets the scuba instructor, Alex, who hides some secrets of his own. They just might find healing within each other that they didn’t know they needed. This was a great read for summer. It kept me engaged and the writing/descriptions were well done. Will definitely read more from this author.

Wildfire Knockout (The Predator Series) by Brooke May – Review by Kerry Carr

Wildfire Knockout (The Predator #3)Wildfire Knockout by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Predator series. This is another contemporary romance which is hard hitting, sizzling with chemistry, humour and banter between our main characters, secrets and traumas from the past that rise it’s head.
Where as the first 2 books in the series deal with KC and Chamberlain’s relationship this story focuses on Beth and Scott.

The attraction and chemistry between Beth and Scott is electric but it is hidden behind anger and smart ass comments. Scott knows that Beth wants him but she just won’t admit it. However Scott is determined to prove to her how perfect they are together. But there are things about Beth’s past that Scott doesn’t know. Things that have affect her as a person and that still pose a risk even though neither of them realise it.

Beth had a rough childhood. After her mother abandoned her and left her with her abusive father. Beth grew up not trusting me and keeping herself closed off from everyone. When she finally gets the chance to escape her father she does just that.
After changing her name and moving on with her life she thinks things are going good, until her past catches up to her.
After telling Scott all about her past and the horrors that happened to her will he still want her knowing she is so damaged? And what happens when Beth finds herself back in danger, will she be able to save herself once again?

This is a really good read. My heart broke for Beth for all that she went through and for the effect it still has on her life. I loved how Scott was determined to give her time to realise that he was always going to stand by her and not hurt her. It was nice to read and get to know these characters a bit more in this story.

Back in the Ring (The Predator Series) by Brooke May – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the fourth book in the series. I really absolutely love this series. There is a lot of sadness at the start and part because of some losses that the characters have. Bijou is a manager/owner of a REC center that is falling apart. Normal wear and tear of the building, her daughter Claire (like most preteens) wants a cell phone. However, Bijou can’t really afford to get her one. So she suggests looking for a job to help pay for one. In the process of doing so, Bijou gets a phone call from Noah (a former boxer) who lost his wife in a horrible accident and is now raising his son Holder by himself. He left the world that he and his wife had to get away from all the speculations of his life. Can he find a new life with Holder in this small town? Read to find out, because I am not going to tell you.

An amazing beautifully story of two people who have experienced loss that get a chance at second love. Oh, this story made me cry several times. It’s got beautiful characters, and it’s written with such compassion and heartwarming love. You can read as a standalone but it is part a series and I would high recommend reading in order. I was a large fan of the chemistry between these two. I really enjoyed watching this relationship develop and them working out their issues. Auntie Mara was a hoot. She brought light to the story. A true story of redemption that is meant to be read. I absolutely loved it.

Brooke May has been a Wyoming girl her entire life, most of it right here in Sheridan where the majority of her family resides. Growing up, she’s always had a wild imagination that came together to publish her first book, a cowboy romance inspired by her home and the rodeos she’s always loved attending.

Now, she continues to write where her imagination takes her with most books inspired by the scenery and beauty that is Sheridan, the Bighorns, and Wyoming. She’s a wife and mother of two and splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her favorite places in the BigHorns.

The sky isn’t the limit for her and all the stories she still has to share. There’s a little bit of everything for any romance reader; cowboys to fighters, bad boys to soldiers, werewolves to romantic comedies, and even a sweet cupid series for younger readers.

This book is part of a series, but it is truly a stand-alone book as well. I love the small town setting. The author certainly gets it right when she portrays life in rural America- especially the fact that many people have to commute to “good” jobs. The lifelong love of the main characters began in childhood, and took many twists and turns. The theme of family is featured strongly throughout this book.

Wow!! I was sucked in from the first chapter. I work in social services and really enjoyed that the FMC runs a youth center. She is angry and upset that the center may close due to a lack of financing and meets Noah who is willing to help her out. Both of these mc have a past that they are trying to heal from and can overcome their trauma.

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series I was looking forward to this latest instalment, and I was not disappointed. Childhood sweethearts Mallory and Beckett married in a pretend wedding on Beckett’s family Apple farm. Mallory still treasures those memories fifteen years later, but now it’s her brother Evan and fiancé CeCe who are getting married. Beckett is returning to his family’s farm having lost his grandfather. He has many memories surrounding his childhood home and they tend to involve Mallory, the love of his life. As maid of honour and best man Mallory and Beckett are spending a lot of time together which is making it hard to deny their feelings for one another and their obvious chemistry. Fearing that Evan won’t support them dating the couple decide to date in secret. However, as their relationship develops they can’t keep it a secret for ever. This is a heartwarming and sweet romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Once again the small town of Buckeye Falls, where everyone knows each other was brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative. Mallory and Beckett are both likeable and relatable characters and their chemistry came across in the story. I loved being back in Buckeye Falls and I have been hooked by each story in this enjoyable and engaging series.

As with the rest of the series, this book is a brilliant novella about two strong and interesting characters. Although this book could be read as a standalone, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. For me, this is one of those books that would be better for having read the previous two books.
I loved the story. It matched the characters so well and I was pulled into it right from the start. This author is one I never fail to enjoy, and it is books like this that show me why. I thoroughly enjoyed reading more of this series I am hope there is more to come.

Ooooo this I’m loving this cover ! It’s one of those you just want to climb into and enjoy for yourself 📚❣️

My bags are packed , my passport is ready , sunscreen and snorkel ready , I’m heading out 😉

So Hope has been working at the Rosemont Inn and has been dating Kyle for 2 years , life in Chicago is good , there’s a promotion up for grabs at the Inn and she applies , confident she’s going to get it , life seems good but life does have a way of throwing you a curveball or 2 at times and it would seem poor Hope not only doesn’t get the promotion but Kyle decides to move on to greener pastures 🤷‍♀️🙈

Don’t fret things do look up when she wins a dive resort in St Croix in the Virgin Island with a raffle ! I know what luck she had ! Change is as good as a holiday and those turquoise waters are just what she needed and didn’t even know it 😉well I do think Alex also plays a role 😍

The previous owner ups and leaves but instead of hitting panic stations Hope takes it in her stride but the staff were very good and so supportive , they’re their own little family really 🤗

Alex has scars but the island life seems to be good for him and as a dive master he’s living a good life but Hope lights a spark within that he didn’t think he’d feel again…..they’re each others healing balm actually and in such a beautiful setting !

I loved watching Alex and Hope evolve , heal and create their own story 🥰 looking forward to the rest of the series ❣️📚

Falling Down (The Rockstar Series) by Anne Mercier – Review by Deborah Joseph

Falling Down (ROCKSTAR)Falling Down by Anne Mercier
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lucy- actress, model, can play instruments and sing… Has family in the mafia that keeps her safe. Everything is basically handed to her on a silver platter with no hard work put in.

Jesse- a rockstar who Lucy has had a crush on since 7th grade.

Lucy is a fan girl of Jesse, literally even when she is 23 she still acts like a teenager around him. She meets him in an airport and gets his autograph and then years (6) later she is a dancer in one of his music videos. Even though they had only met that once he still remembered her and her name… weird…. She has no control over her emotions and even though she is some big actress she doesn’t know how to act normally around other stars?

I get this is fiction, really I do, but this book has no plot and doesn’t seem realistic AT ALL… which makes it harder to even relate with the MC and get sucked into the book.

Crush since 7th grade. Even reasoned with her cousin when they started seeing each other how she had been fantasizing about him since she was 12.
MFC is 23 but never says how old the MMC is… is this an age gap romance?
Any girl Jesse has slept with in the past are all “sluts” and “whores”… childish much? Oh wait, it gets better… any female who is not a family member are “sluts” and “whores” *Insert eye roll here*
Somehow throws a band together and makes an album in 10 days? I get it her rockstar boyfriend called in some favors to help her… but 10 days?!?! Okay!
Plus so much more! The sex scenes aren’t that great, so if you came for the smut this is not the one for you.

This book is a quick read but I just didn’t like it at all. I was trying to find another rockstar story to love like the first one I read… and this one just isn’t it! I will not be reading any of the other books in this series.

Great characters and a fun story! Everybody always dreams of a change in pace or a spontaneous shift in their everyday life. The main character in this story gets just that. Hope Collins has just broken up with her boyfriend and quit her job. She needs to get away for a vacation, or just start over new. What better way to do that than to find out that you’ve won a scuba diving resort in the Carribbean? Unfortunately, the previous owner has gone and left you to fend for yourself. She finds help along the way from staff members that have been working there. She also has a potential love interest when she meets the scuba diving instructor named Alex. He has also been hurt and has been surviving, not truly living. Could Hope be the one to help him be whole again? Alex and Hope were enjoyable characters and I enjoyed reading this story. I have always wanted to go to the Carribbean and the descriptions in the book make me want to go even more. I hadn’t planned on starting a new series but I will definitely be reading the other books to see what Hope and Alex get up to.

Falling Down (Rockstar, #1)Falling Down by Anne Mercier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Falling Down is a well written spicy romance story that has a killer soundtrack that I highly recommend you play along to feel the rockstar vibe throughout this book.

Jesse is a mega hot rockstar that the main character, Lucy has crushed over since being a pre-teen. A chance meeting in a Chicago airport when she’s in her late teens proves to be a bit overwhelming but also a kismet moment. Sparks fly but the timing is all off so both go on with their lives; his as a rockstar and she becomes a Hollywood actress.

Years later she finds herself fresh off the set of a new movie and finding the acting gig has lost its luster. While she and her sister meet to do a surprise music video gig with a music producer friend, they find themselves once again face to face with Mr Rockstar himself and his band.

I think the book flows rather well making this an easy to read book that romance fans will thoroughly enjoy, spice and all.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Hope is in a predictable rut. Even her boyfriend Kyle had compared her to a favorite pair of slippers. Eek! That’s until a day that turns everything upside down. Going into a interview for a raise in job and pay turns into becoming the owner of a scuba diving resort. On the Caribbean!! Talk about a life change! She can hardly believe it, while she upgrades to first class on the way to take things over and meet her new life. Why not splurge? But she isn’t prepared for what awaits her and the complications ahead. Alex, a dive instructor at the resort Hope just inquired, is okay with his life. Things are okay given his past. Content to his life he’s existing day by day. But fates seem to through them together. Mishaps pulling them into each other baths while both searching for something. But can either one trust again? With each other’s baggage there might be to much past stuff. Can these two come together and move past their past? Trust can sometimes be the only way. Leap of faith into the unknown. I can not wait to read more in this series!! I honestly thought this book was part of another series, but as soon as I started reading I realized I was in for something new. Boy was I surprise and excited at the same time! PS. I am bad at looking at names when it comes to not only books or authors names. I know, I know. Bad. But hey I got a great knew series out of it!! Since I hadn’t read anything by this author before, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into. I planned on just picking it up and reading a bit in my spare time here and there. It turned out to consume my entire day as I couldn’t put it down. This is the first book in the Half Moon Bay series, and I find myself already chomping the bit to pick up the next one! The characters are wonderfully relatable, and I found myself rooting for them from the very beginning. Hope and Alex have amazing chemistry, but they both also have a bit of baggage. The author does a marvelous job providing us with vivid imagery that transports you to a tropical island. Having quite a bit of scuba knowledge going into this book, I was thoroughly impressed by the accuracy that the diving scenes portrayed. I highly recommend picking this up if you tend to enjoy beachy contemporary romances!

Finding Hope: A Small Town Beach Romance (Half Moon Bay Series Book 1)

The book started in such a happy way. Hope was starting a new life in St. Croix after many years in Chicago, but how she got there was so very sad and we learn all about it.

Hope’s life was great until it wasn’t. She had a guy and a job with aspirations of moving higher up but that changes quickly. She leaves it all behind to go to Half Moon Bay

Alex hides a lot of his feelings, I think that is due to his time in the Navy and not showing weakness as a precaution. He loves his job and the Island and feels thrown off by Hope’s arrival for so many different reasons.

I have never left the US and would love to find a way to make a trip there. The island and people sounded absolutely wonderful.

I cannot wait to dive (pun intended) into book 2 in the series, and see what happens next.

I love this side story about Beth and Scott, key characters in The Predator series. Beth wants to pursue her dreams of being a female boxer while working to overcome her feelings of inadequacy stemming from her past. Scott is a great manager and could help Beth to soar as he fills in for Beth’s best friend who is out during her pregnancy. The only problem is that Scott is a player, and Beth is the next girl in his sights, claiming to have changed his ways. Will the two be able to their clashing personalities long enough to work together to see Beth reach her goals, or will they fall prey to their attraction for one another?

Brooke May is such a great writer, who takes the time to create dynamic characters as well as placing them in realistic situations that deal with real-world issues. I love that the reader is entertained by the author’s use of witty characters, and we get to laugh, cry, and fight alongside them, cheering for them to overcome all obstacles to achieve their goals. Every book in The Predator series continues the storyline of our characters, allowing the reader to watch as the storyline continues to progress throughout the lives of these amazing characters. If you like reading a romance series with strong women, and men who fight for the love of their lives, then this is the series for you. Happy reading everyone, may you enjoy this knockout book.

Falling Down is the first book in The Rockstar Series and is a Contemporary Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you’ve finished. I’m a huge fan of Rockstar Romance and this one definitely checks all the boxes. This is a fairly new author to me but I’m definitely a fan of their style of writing and attention to detail. The characters are developed and relatable and bring the story to life. The chemistry between them is electric and off the charts. Some moments had me over here fan girling and others had me shaking my head. What will happen when what was supposed to be just a fun and games turns into way more? He wants everything but can she handle all he has to offer? Can they have a happy ending? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. This was a well developed story. The Titans series has always been delightful with its drama.. This story did not disappoint. I enjoyed how the story developed. The characters were very well developed. I felt they were kind of like friends to you. Even with the drama and everything else going on they still found time for each other. Right from the beginning I was drawn in. Callum is one of that I’d love to run into in a dark corner. The chemistry was just right which made for great romance.

She makes Buckeye Falls sound like a town that you just want to run away to. I can always picture it like a fall town in Maine. Her characters feel like they could be your best griends. You know that you’re in a town where your business is everyone elses. This is a story that I enjoyed reading. it was like a ride through the country. I loved seeing all the characters. It’s so intimate. You don’t want to leave. You feel every emotion. One of my favorite romance series, I couldn’t put it down. Romance, apples, and love.

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls Book 5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Buckeye Falls is a magical place, full of lovely couples who have found their way to each other, as well as those who are yet to get it together. This small town is a charming place where everyone knows you and knows your business. It is filled with sassy, sweet, nosy, quirky, and colourful characters.
“Forever to Fall” is the fifth book in the Buckeye Falls series. It tells a friends-to-lovers story of childhood friends who finally reveal their feelings to each other. However, sharing what they have may not make everyone happy.
Libby Kay writes magical stories of love, hopes, wants, needs, and dreams. The journey the characters take to get there is part of the adventure Libby presents.
“Forever to Fall” is a charming tale that has it all to make your heart sigh with happiness – a little angst, lots of sexual tension, spice, wit, and banter that had me laughing. Oh, and there is a wedding and delicious food to make you drool.
Grab a drink and escape reality for some “me time” with this delightful tale.
I wonder who is next to arrive in Buckeye Falls.

I can’t get enough of the captivating books in the Titans of Chicago series. “Forbiddenly Yours” is my favourite so far. I always say that about each new book, but it’s true. Make sure to start with the first book in this amazing series or you’ll miss out on some delightfully wicked tales that only Anise can write so well.
The Titans draw you into their beautiful yet dark world, full of alpha men exuding sexuality, intense passion, and a new level of heat. But there’s also extravagance, greed, deception, and at times, pain and suffering. Being a Titan means getting what you want.
What was supposed to be a holiday fling, a one-night stand, turned into something more once he realized she was so much more. Now, the one thing he wants may be the one thing he can’t have, even with all the money in the world. All thanks to someone hell-bent on breaking him of everything he holds dear.
The story is beautifully written, and Anise brings the depth of these complex characters to life with a solid hand. I can’t wait for what comes next.

This the second book in this series which is just as great as the first one if not better. I enjoy this author’s writing style that makes their stories hard to put down and realistic. I highly suggest reading the previous book as well to help your enjoyment of this series as well as this author. A well written story about Callum and Nicole. Their story is one that starts with a one night stand only to find out that they are professor and student. Their story is one of romance and some suspense. They are great characters with great growth throughout the story. Their chemistry is off the charts which made the story easy to read and entertaining. They are connectable characters that bring their story to life. This is a fast paced, engaging story and one you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this story and this series.

Forever to Fall (Buckeye Falls Book 5)Forever to Fall by Libby Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by this author. I enjoy their creative writing style as well as their attention to details that made the characters pop. This is a well written story about Beckett and Mallory. When they were younger they had a pretend wedding. Now that they are adults and have been dating in secret. What will happen when their romance comes out? Will she be the one to wear the family heirloom or will her brother’s fiance? I enjoyed both these characters. They are connectable and bring the story to life. They have great growth and chemistry throughout the story. Their story is fast paced and hard to put down. An engaging story that is easy to read and entertaining. I highly recommend this book.
