Olivia has had her share of heart break. Garrett left his one true love behind, to follow his musical managing career, and his up and coming band. Now, while both of them fight the second chance for romance. There are still heartbreak feelings. Can the two people work through their delima? Is romance salvageable for them? This was a fast paced romance. It will open many emotions and leave you wanting to read more of this series. This story is a stand-alone but, reading the series only opens your feelings and those we try to avoid. This author is no longer new to me. Her love for rock music is what makes this story fun and easy to follow. I enjoyed reading this story and will be going back to read the others.

3.5 stars
Cecily in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager is a sweet YA romance that will delight YA readers. It is a quick read with teenage drama and angst, anxiety, jealousy and deep-seated insecurities and misunderstandings. As I said before Krysten is known for her YA romances and it is what she does best.
The story is well written and flows well that will keep her younger readers engaged.
Cecily has two passions than man she loves and acting. Unfortunately, she learns that it is a cutthroat business and the lies, the images and innuendos will either break you or make you. Trying to deal with the fame and dating someone famous maybe harder than she ever imagined. Once again jealousy and uncertainties make for a precarious relationship.
You shouldn’t believe everything you read in this business.
Mind games others play when they don’t get what they want are a dangerous road to traverse. There are characters that you can’t help but like and then there are those who you want to take down a peg or two.

Where Fire Meets Flame (Yours From The Ashes Book 1) by Elena Kincaid – Review by Allison Davis

Where Fire Meets Flame (Yours From the Ashes, #1)Where Fire Meets Flame by Elena Kincaid
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

There was a lot love about this story but I did have some things that bothered me.

I love a second chance romance, and the overall story was great. Riley is a private investigator who has a good time in the romance department because she spends her days busting cheating spouses. Tristan is a firefighter with a psycho ex that is causing allot of issues in his life. Together they find an unbeatable love to overcome all.

My only issues come with the timeline and development of the characters. The self work that each man character needed to with through was rushed. If this story was a tad longer with more main character work it would have been a way 5 star!

If you are looking for a super cute, steamy quick read, this will totally sooo the trick.

I enjoyed the third book in this series, it was a quick easy read and had a good storyline. I still really like the character Cecily and think that she could be quite relatable for the young adult audience that is the target reader group for this book. The characters were really well written and I could really feel some of the anxieties that Cecily in particularly went through. I think having followed Cecily’s story through the first two books I really feel like I’ve been on this journey with her. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next for Cecily in book 4!

This book is about Riley Scott who is a private detective. She mainly catches cheating spouses so she isn’t looking for love in her life. She meets Tristan Cain at a coffee shop and immediately they are Both attracted to eachother but neither lets their feelings known. However Tristan goes out of his way on his days off to go back to that same coffee shop in hopes of running into her again and again. When Riley’s coworker sets her up on a blind date, it’s one of the firefighters who Tristan is close with so he and Riley get to talking and get to know eachother better. Tristan is a firefighter and rescues her when she needs it. Seeing Riley again after so long, he thinks he’s seen a ghost and then it all makes sense. This book was a great short read. Wish it was longer.

Riley and Tristan keep crossing paths. Riley is a Private Investigator who finds herself in a rescue situation. One in which Tristan will be her knight in shining armor.

Tristan with a crazy ex tried multiple times to get Riley out of the picture. When this is discovered while Tristan is keeping himself and Riley safe while waiting to be rescued they take precautions and hole up together.

This leads to a fall in head over heels in love in a 48 hours type of scenario. Then the crazy ex shows back up and threatens the fairy tale ending for Tristan and Riley.

Will they survive the crazy ex again? There are some crazy people in the world that will go to great lengths for the one they love and this book makes you think about that! I found myself wanting more story and not wanting it to end.

I'll Love You Tomorrow (The Trading Heartbeats Trilogy #3)I’ll Love You Tomorrow by Julie Navickas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this kind of Novel, I love when the character feels like the happy ending is at the beginning of the story. I thought that too when I read the part about Lauren falling in Love with Mitch at six years old. I was like aww that is cute but that really never happens, does it?
But like any other story fairy tales only last for a while especially for Lauren and Mitch. I truly did not like how Mitch can do that to her. Treating her like a queen and then like nothing. I am glad that Lauren kept on going and not letting Mitch ruin her, but that is what I thought.
Poor Lauren towards more at the end of the story reality hits harder for Lauren when her hard-working restaurant went down in flames and her marriage. I never thought that I can feel her pain until that happened to her, letting her emotions take the best of her into gabbling her life away.
An amazing story that I would recommend to anyone but start with the 1st book. The author did an amazing job, it kept my eyes watery for most of it.

Garrett has managed the biggest Rock band for almost ten years, but over the past few years he has done things he is not proud of which has made his trust with the band shaky at times but he excuses have always been for the good of the band. Garrett has loved the lifestyle and enjoys the single, young guy status but Garrett has had his regrets and one was the woman he left behind all those years ago to manage the band, but he has never really loved anyone else but her.

Olivia is at the top of her career, getting the gig of directing the Grammy’s is a once in a lifetime thing and she has to pinch herself, the only thing is she will see the man who walked out on her ten years ago and took her heart with him, choosing a group of young rock stars instead of her, hurts more than he will ever know. But, when Olivia gets a request to direct the new video for Balefire is he prepare to see Garrett and will all the old feelings come back. She has learnt to hide things can she hide the love still burning in her heart for this man.

OMG, I am not the biggest Garret fan but I loved this story of love and lost and the fairy-tale that can come true. Did he deserve to get Olivia back into his life, NO but to be fair the more I read of the book the more I actually warmed to Garrett and you get to understand the reasons behind all the things he did. I loved the characters of Olivia with her sassy, kick ass side to her but underneath all the glamour and armour still was still that lost girl hurt by the love of her life.

This was a brilliant well paced and written story, which if you have not read the series from the start can be read as a stand alone story but I recommend reading the whole series as you get the full view of Garrett and what he has done and how everything fits in. The relationship between him and the band in the end was lovely to read and how they understood his sacrifices that he took at the beginning and was a great end to the story.

Thank you for a brilliant series and a fitting ending to this series and pulling Garrett out of the idiot section to the AHHH section.

Cecily in the City (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 3) by Krysten Lindsay Hager

• Cecily in the City is the third book in The Cecily Taylor Series. This is a YA Contemporary Romance that will have you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next. This maybe directed more towards teen to young adults but in my opinion anyone of any age can enjoy this story. Tbis authors style of writing and her amazing characters make for a wonderful story. Her characters are well developed and very easily relatable. I felt like I could imagine every scene as if I were there. Cecily can’t imagine her life getting any better after she’s moved to the city and landed a dream position on a daytime soap opera. She’s very excited to be in the same town as her pop star boyfriend. Rumors get started shortly after she stars in another singers music video. Lots of drama behind the scenes. She just wants to be happy with Andrew. Soon she will find out life is much different in the spotlight.. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Three Women in NovemberThree Women in November by Jim Shomos
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My favourite quote from the book. “Don’t go alpha-male-diva on me.”
Three Women in November is a wonderful romantic tale based on a true story. It is a very emotional and funny read and yet it is very confronting as everything is put on the line for the name of love. Jim is a brave man to turn his life into a story.
I loved that the story was set in Australia. It made it seem more real as it’s easy to visualise the places.
It is a unique and raw look into one man Leo and three very successful women on a search for love. It was interesting to read as it was told in the male perspective. The characters are real, complex, have heaps of baggage and make plenty of mistakes.
The challenge, the pain, the joy, the drama and the humour as we follow along on this journey.
Leo is a man who knows what he wants. He knows the world would not give him anything but a soul mate. Unfortunately, life is not that simplistic. The road to love is not paved with gold.
I look forward to Leo’s next romantic adventure in, Kissing Scars.

The is a shorter story that packs a punch! There is also quite a few bits of danger that show up in here. I enjoyed the book and the flow which makes it easy to read. The characters are few and they have interesting jobs. The two main personalities are just adorable when they see each other. Their chemistry is electric and I could feel that first kiss to my toes.

Overall this is an easy to read first book in a new series. Interesting characters and a suspenseful storyline make this a good book.

Stay For Me is the fifth book in the Balefire series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. It is a contemporary second chances rockstar romance, with past pain, love, loss, heartache, drama, humour, emotion, angst, plenty of chemistry, and steam.
Even though this is the fifth book in the series, it could be read as a standalone if you wanted, as each book in the series focuses on a different member of the Balefire rock band.
I have to be honest, I really wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this book going in, as I wasn’t a fan of Garrett as he’d been a bit of jerk in the past (books). So, I was prepared to not like this book at all. But Ms. DeRudder Jackson surprised me and won me over through the course of the story. Ten years ago, Garret made the biggest mistake of his life. Now he has a chance for a re-do… What happens? Will Love win out in the end? No spoilers here, you really should read all the intriguing developments for yourself.
Happy Reading…

I never miss a book by this author and I’m glad to see the series continuing! I love everything about Tam DeRudder Jackson’s writing. The way she pulls you in and makes you completely forget about what’s going on around you. The world she creates encapsulates you so quickly that you don’t even realize what happened. Garrett broke Olivia’s heart years ago when he chose his career over his future love life with her. He says he has never forgotten her, but she’s not falling for it quite so easily. Fool me once! Olivia used that pain as fuel to get her name recognized as a music video director, but it’s starting to flame out. Will she give him a chance to show her what he’s made of, or has the pain of him leaving left her too devastated to try? I highly recommend picking up not only this book, but the entire Balefire series!

This is the second book in the Balefire series that I have read, but it is the fifth in the series. This book is so well written and it sucks you right in. This book features Garret, who is definitely the one member of Balefire I have had a hard time warming up to. However, this time it gives some insight into his personality and demeanor. Years ago, Olivia was the one who got away. The one that he left for the band. This time he gets a second chance at love with Olivia. However, will he mess it up again or will she be too hurt from before to even let him in. I definitely recommend picking this one up to see what happens. It packs on the steam as well as showing well written characters.

Stay For Me is the fifth book in the Balefire series although it can be read as a standalone. The series focus’ on each member of the band Balefire and this is Garrett and Olivia’s story. It is an erotic rock romance story.

The story is told in dual POV. I had mixed feelings about Garrett but he is shed in a whole new light in his story. Don’t get me wrong there are still moments when I want to smack him.

Garrett is hoping for a second chance after the biggest mistake he made 10 years ago.

Being in need means taking on the biggest rock band in the industry. Only along with them comes their manager the one who left me behind. Has the man changed and can he be trusted?

Sparks fly in this sexy and hot, steamy and seductive, passionate and intense tale.

I can’t wait for more.

Garrett and Olivia get the second chance at romance that they should have had. Garrett has gotten a reputation for being a putz with the ladies in the band (the guy’s gals). They aren’t too fond of him. Now Garrett has found Olivia and is wanting to win her back. It’s a long road for them but to watch them work on it is kind of a redeeming road. You are glad to see what happens. A romance that will have you feeling the emotions and enjoy seeing old faces in the story. Entertaining and fun, serious and romantic, a definite must-read.

Garrett

I’ve made a few mistakes over the last decade, but the one I regret most was letting Olivia Carter go. When I see her again, the past crashes over me, reminding me of everything I ever wanted and gave up when I let our dreams separate us.

Managing Balefire into the world’s biggest rock band came at a personal cost—walking away from my only love. When fate brings her back into my life, I’m determined not to screw up again. After Balefire hires her studio to produce their next music video, I have a second chance to rewrite our song—if I can convince her I’m a changed man.

Olivia

Ten years ago, Garrett Phillips chose to go with “his boys” and leave me in the dust of a ratty old tour bus. Now I’m working my ass off to make a name for myself as a Hollywood music video director. Unfortunately, my fledgling studio is bleeding money, and my only hope of saving it is to make a video with the biggest rock band on the planet. Too bad that means working with the man who tore my heart out of my chest when he chose his rock ’n’ roll dream over me.

He says he’s grown up. He says we can make things work. But can I truly trust that this time he will stay for me?

Tam DeRudder Jackson’s love of all things Celtic led her to write the Talisman Series. Steeped in Celtic mythology, these steamy, fated mates, paranormal romance adventures are set in the mountains of Tam’s native Montana and the Highlands of Scotland. Rogue, the most recent book in the series, was named a best romance of 2022 by the Independent Book Review.

An avid fan of rock music, Tam never misses a chance to see a live show, especially if it’s Shinedown, one of her favorite bands. Her love of rock music inspired her contemporary rock star Balefire Series, a sexy fun ride following the lives and loves of the members of a fictional mega-band. Readers of this series consistently give the books five-star reviews.

Tam earned her BA in English from Montana State University and her M.Ed. in literacy from Lesley University. After a short teaching stint in Bath, England, she settled in the wilds of Wyoming where she taught adolescents all about the Celts and a bit about writing before she stepped out of the classroom to pursue her writing career full time.

When she’s not writing, you can find her working her way through her mountainous TBR piles, alpine skiing, or traveling to some new place on her ever-expanding bucket list. Where Fire Meets Flame (Yours From The Ashes Book 1) by Elena Kincaid – Review by Bethany Rollins

Where Fire Meets Flame (Yours From the Ashes, #1)Where Fire Meets Flame by Elena Kincaid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tristan, a firefighter, cannot forget about the red haired angel he rescued. Riley, a private investigator, cannot forget her blue eyed hero. Fate keeps jumping in to have these two encounter each other and find love.
I’d state this is a solid 3-3.5 stars for me but rounded up because I have hopes for this series to keep getting better. Things I enjoyed about this story was the relationship that developed between Riley and Tristan. I also enjoyed the suspense that was added into the story, although it was a highly predictable level of mystery. The one thing that left me hung up on this read was the initial time jump. With a book this short, the time periods were so quick. It just wasn’t a good flow for me but the storyline was good. I would have preferred to begin with initial meeting rather than a future meeting of our main characters. Overall good read and hoping the storyline continues nicely through this series.
