Hero Complex is book three in The Bluestone series… It is a perfect quick contemporary romance. I love all the characters and that they all intertwine. Ivy and Ace definitely are a great couple, it just takes them a bit to realize it, Like a fake engagement. I definitely recommend this book and the others in this series. Very well written, funny and sweet.

This may have been a quick read but it still gave me all the feels. The characters were so easy to connect with which can sometimes be difficult to pull through in a quick read. This author however did a great job of doing just that. You get completely pulled into their world and can’t wait to see what happens next. I believe this is a first for me from this author and I’ll definitely be looking for more. It’s well written and paced at a nice speed. Four stars and highly recommended!

With the 3rd book in this series I still very much enjoy this Mafia world. This can still be read as a stand alone but does pick up where book 2 leaves off.
Izzy is a strong independent woman who meets her match in Lorenzo. He takes one look at her and knows he’s in trouble.
There is still a bit of a repetition in the writing that still bothers me and it was missing some of the emotion for me the other 2 books brought but it was still a quick enjoyable read.

Two wounded soul’s one fake relationship……
Hero Complex is the third book in Isobel’s contemporary romance series Bluestone. It is a fun read that will have you laughing at times. I think Bluestone may just be a place to be. I really enjoy Isobel’s simplistic way of storytelling. It makes it easy to fall into the story and lose yourself for a while.
Ivy needs a fiancée, and he is up to the challenge, but his hero complex is getting on her last nerve. She is perfectly capable of looking out for herself.
Ace is battle weary and scared in more ways than one. He certainly is not good enough for his fake fiancée. It’s in his nature to protect.
Will they be able to pull of the relationship of a lifetime or will hearts be further broken?
This small-town romance has something for everyone who loves a romance with sexy cowgirls and cowboys.
I fell in love with Ivy and Ace as much as I did their world of wide-open spaces.
I look forward to reading more from Isobel.

Echoing Hearts by C.R. Alam

This is the first book in The Echo series, and I was not disappointed.
The author created vivid imagery of both the world surrounding the characters, as well as the characters themselves. I could picture each scene with ease and almost felt as it I had stepped into the story to join them. The writing style used was smooth and flowed very well, making the experience more enjoyable.
Dean and Rae are both very stubborn and combined with their past experiences leading to trust issues, leads to obstacles in their growing attraction.
Both showed development at times, moving forwards toward each other, but only one at a time causing the other to drawback. This is one of the reasons that the character felt more real, they’re flawed and their responses to obstacles (e.g. the pulling back) felt believable.
My favourite character was Rae; she possesses patience while still knowing her worth. This combined wither her confidence and independence makes me wish I had half of her personality.
In the next books of the series, I hope that we learn more about the ‘supporting’ characters as the series progresses.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

If you are looking for an enjoyable and easy read, this book is definitely the one for you. It is such as easy book to get into. The story is great and the characters are relatable and engaging. From the moment I started reading I was pulled into the story and passed a great afternoon reading through it all in one sitting.
This is still a pretty new author to me and I am enjoying getting to know her writing style and her works. I always enjoy reading books like hers and I am excited to see what else she has to offer.

This is was very sweet romance about 2 people who have deep issues in trusting people and allowing themselves to be loved finally coming together. It’s such a heartwarming read to see the characters growth as they help each other overcome their insecurities and issues and see what the other person sees.
Ace and Ivy’s story is really special. Ivy has had to deal with a lot losing her parents and then grandparents she has been struggling to keep the family ranch afloat for years. It seems the clients she used to have don’t want to deal with a female.
When Ace a retired Marine looks for a place to stay Ivy offers him one of the ranch shacks and Ace in return offers to work on the ranch.
When Ivy goes to an important meeting Ace goes along for support and somehow finds himself telling the perspective client that he and Ivy are engaged.
Realising that having a man on the ranch could be a way to bring back business Ivy decides to go along with this fake relationship for the sake of her business. But what happens when the fake side of the agreement turns into something real? Both Ace and Ivy have issues and insecurities but will they be able to overcome all that and finally be happy like they deserve?
Meet Leo, a divorced man with 3 children, who under no circumstances considered taking therapy before engaging in his next relationship. He is a kind of normal type of guy, his work is to develop ideas for cellphone video games; but to his heart poems and music is what his soul is meant to make.
Such is the case that he meets Zoya on a business trip and becomes infatuated with her. After a long insistence on his part she allows the situationship to kind of develop, always showing him little of her true nature.
He puts a quite effort in order to have a real relationship with her, but due to life this is not enough for her, and so they give themselves a break.
During the break Leo finally considers going to therapy, only because the obnoxious woman let him know how unhealed scars never close, and there is where he meets Aysha. Now this woman is his therapist and she helps him to better understand the lack of self love towards himself, and how to manage his emotions without being a dummy. They have a conflict of interest and cannot get into a relationship due to the professional one they are having, so they too put on hold the possibility.
Aaannd during that time he meets Jade, another woman who is in his line of work, kind of, but she is still married and has not taken the corresponding steps in order to be able to have a new relationship, although she wants to.
Now he has 3 different women, all of them with issues unresolved, making him wait in order to be an adult and have a relationship.

Hero Complex is Book Three in the Bluestone Series. Ivy is struggling to save the studding ranch left to her by her grandparents. When Ivy is approached by a local business owner with a proposition to save her business, she tries to hear him out. That is, until he opens his mouth and starts acting like a male chauvinistic jerk who knows more than she does and treats her like she does not know anything about how to run a ranch. That is when Ivy learns the true reasons behind why her business is failing. With her being single, it seems that men do not want to bring her their business because their old-fashioned way of thinking makes them believe that a woman is not capable of running a business.
Retired Marine, Ace, has been living on Ivy’s ranch and helping her in exchange for room and board. When he learns of Ivy’s meeting with the local businessman, he goes to the meeting with her to act as moral support. Ace gets upset at the way Ivy is being treated and, in an effort, to placate the businessman he informs him that Ivy and he are engaged and that he is helping her run her business. Now the rumor is circulating in the small community that Ivy and Ace are engaged, and things begin to get messy. Ivy is horrified about the rumors but goes along with them because she needs to save her ranch.
As Ivy and Ace play the part of being engaged the sparks fly between them. Ivy is attracted to Ace but wishes that he would stop trying to save her all the time. She is independent, smart, and strong so she does not feel as though she needs a hero running to her rescue. Ace is attracted to Ivy as well, so he only wants to protect her. He would love for the relationship to be more but feels as though his battle scars will turn off Ivy. Both Ivy and Ace do their part in their engagement and try to fight off the intense chemistry between them but find the attraction becoming more undeniable as time goes by. Can there ever be a real relationship between Ivy and Ace?
I loved this entire series and have fallen in love with this author’s writing. I could not put the book down and found the storyline and the characters amazing. The characters of Ivy and Ace are believable and relatable. Ivy sees herself as an independent and strong woman who does not need a man running in to save her. When Ace tries to come to her rescue, she is offended yet realizes that she must accept help, or her ranch will fail. Ivy has trauma from her past that she needs to deal with and is carrying a huge secret that she has not told anyone about. This secret could prevent her from having the future life she deserves. Ace feels damaged and unlovable due to the scars he suffered during his time as a Marine. Neither Ivy nor Ace feel that they are good enough for the other. The events that ensue are gut wrenching and take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Be prepared to laugh, cry, scream, and maybe even swear out loud a bit as Ivy and Ace struggle through the demons from their past and try to push forward.

Love Tools is Book One in the Bluestone Series. Lily has recently moved from London to the small town of Bluestone County after inheriting her father’s hardware store. Although Lily was estranged from her father and had not since him since she was a small child, she took the move as a fresh start. She needed to escape from the life she had in London. The city was too busy, her apartment was cramped, and she felt like she was going nowhere in her job. Plus, she found her mother to be too overbearing, and she found herself in one bad relationship after another. The excuse to run her estranged father’s hardware store clear across the country came as a welcome excuse to flee from the life she was hating and start over.
When Lilly arrives in Bluestone, she throws herself into cleaning the hardware store and preparing for it to reopen. Lily is wrapped up in cleaning the store when a drop-dead gorgeous cowboy walks into the store. She finds it hard to take her eyes off of him, but as soon as he opens his mouth the attraction rating drops drastically. Lily refuses to get into any sort of a relationship, especially with a man as annoying as Jake. Besides, she figures that nobody that good looking would be interested in her anyhow. Jake cannot seem to help messing up every time he opens his mouth but finds he is intentionally saying things to get a rise out of Lily. Although he has all but sworn off relationships, he finds Lily not only sexy as all get go, but he loves her sassy attitude.
Lily finds that she cannot seem to escape Jake who seems to be everywhere, including at her new friend, Sam’s, place. The two begin to spend time together as Jake helps her with prepping the hardware store for the reopening. As they spend time together Lily lets her guard down a bit and opens up to Jake about her relationship with her father. She is seeking answers about why her father abandoned her and what type of person he was. Why did he move across the country to run a hardware store in the middle of nowhere? Jake and her father were close so he may be able to give her some answers. As they spend more time together the chemistry between Lily and Jake intensifies and the attraction becomes undeniable.
This book was well written, and the characters were lovable and relatable. Lily and Jake both have trauma from their pasts that have left them feeling a bit broken. Both have all but sworn off relationships and have chosen to focus on other projects. For Lily it was the hardware store and for Jake it was the ranch. Jake did not know what love was and had only wanted casual relationships until he met Lily. No woman had ever made Jake feel like he could not live without her until Lily came along. Now he needs to convince Lily that he is serious about her and will not treat her like her exes had in the past. Lily has had one bad relationship after another and is scared to let her guard down for fear that Jake will also end up hurting her. The hurt, drama, angst, and betrayals from their pasts must all be worked through before either can be fully capable of having a healthy relationship. This was a wholesome love story with sexy cowboys in a small-town setting with a bit of sass, humor, and witty banter sprinkled throughout. A fantastic read that immediately made me want to read other books in the series.

Hero Complex (Bluestone Series Book 3) by Isobel Reed. I love this series. Its a fun romance series that will keep you flipping pages until you are done. Its the story of Ivy who is trying to save her studding ranch that has been in the family forever. With Ivy being single men don’t trust her to use her ranch because they are old fashioned. Ivy will do whatever it takes to save her ranch including pretending to be engaged to Ace, a handsome retired marine who has his fair share of battle scars. Ivy doesn’t really mind pretending to be in a relationship with Ace but he is constantly trying to “save” her and she doesn’t need saving. From the minute they start their pretend relationship sparks fly and even though they drive each other crazy they are also crazy attracted to one another. Will Ivy be able to pull of the hoax of being engaged to Ace to save her ranch and will they let down their guard long enough to have an actual romance. Read Hero Complex to find out! You will love it!

I loved this story of Ace and Ivy. Heaven knows, these two have issues to overcome. Being at risk of losing her ranch, Ace comes to her rescue. They kept me laughing and feeling all the emotions as they worked through their relationship. These two try so hard to keep things professional as they fake a relationship to keep the good ole’ boys studding their horses at her ranch. Yeah, the sparks flew from the moment they met. Loved the characters. It was so great to see characters like Jake/Lila and Brady/Alice from the previous books appear. Teddy/Summer made an appearance, I can’t wait for more of their story in the next book. This story has so much love, humor and romance. It’s a feel good with a second chance feel. Ivy is a spit-fire of her own that Jake is going to wrangle, if it’s the last thing he does. This is a fantastic and quick read.

This is a fast paced story that packs a punch. It has mystery and romance which will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time reading this. The steam in this book may make you blush a little, maybe even have to fan yourself. It’s good. What I really liked was the leading female had a role that is normally given to male characters. She has grit and whit. I love a strong female lead. Don’t think that just because the female lead is strong that the male lead isn’t. He is just as strong and who doesn’t love a good looking firefighter in their stories. This book is semi-relatable because everyone has a crazy ex out there, maybe not to the extreme of his crazy ex. These are just glimpses of what lies ahead for you when you read this story. The suspense and drama that unfolds is completely worth it and will keep yo turning the page to see what happens. It is really well written and flows seamlessly. I can’t wait to read more in the series. Trust me you won’t be disappointed by picking this up to read. It is worth it.

Consigliere’s Revenge by Via Mari

The story follows Lorenzo, consigliere to the Larussio crime family, and Isabella, a journalist who is determined to spill the dirt of every crime family in Vegas. Lorenzo realised the Larussio family could use Isabella’s skills to their advantage, but he doesn’t expect to fall in love with her. My favourite character is Isabella and my least favourite character – it’s the same every single time, evil man – is De Rosa. I recommend this book because I’ve now read the three of Via Mari’s Sicilian Gods series, and I’ve loved all three of them. Each one is full of angst and passion, with a different take on mafia romance each time, and I can’t forget the strong, independent women featured. I can’t wait to read her next book. I know this quote isn’t romantic, but it felt important to share: “Sometimes it feels like we deal with more sharks on the legitimate side of the business than when dealing with the men who sell arms to the highest bidder in the dirtiest of alleys. Perhaps it’s because we expect differently of them, but they are just as dirty if not dirtier than the rest of us.”

Isabella is determined to expose the dirty under belly of the Mafia in Vegas, from the De Rosa’s feud to the revenge of the Larussio family, so when she gets access to to the inner sanctum of the VIP floor of Larussio’s hotel she sees things which would make a great story, upon leaving she is stopped by him, The Consigliere, he should scare her but with his dark soulless eyes and his alpha present she is attracted to this fascinated man who in one order could have her killed. But there is something there she can’t quite understand, but she has learnt not to trust these powerful men.
Lorenzo see’s her and instantly is drawn to her, once he makes her a proposition to work with them, she is his not just in work but in body too, can he get Izzy to trust him and love him back?
OMG, I love this series. This book although the third book in the Sicilian Gods Series you can read as a stand alone as each book focuses on one member of the family. This happens to be Lorenzo’s book which what a fast paced brilliant read. Lorenzo in the other books has always been a fleeting character and it was nice to read his “Forever Love” story. The character of Izzy was a brilliant equal to his character with fight and sass and it seems all your woman have the strength running through which makes them brilliant alpha ladies to these violent alpha males.
The only regret I have is not getting more of the Izzy’s relationship with “Families” in Italy as there is certainly a back story there which would be fascinating to read, also to understand the secret her father is keeping as that really peaked my interest but that may be in a different story relating to other characters we will see.
The story was well written and the two characters where just the right air of illusion to each other and to see the trust and chemistry build was brilliant to discovery.
Please, Please make Sergio your next story, he needs calming down with the love of a good woman, LOL.

I just love these dark mafia romances by this author. In this particular book, we get insight into the Lurussio’s family’s consigliere, Lorenzo. He is a dark, private, intense man, but on the inside, he is more caring then he lets on, but only for Isabella. Isabella is a reporter that is trying to secretly get the scoop on the mafia families of Vegas. However, Lorenzo, as consigliere, he knows all and calls her out when caught in one of their private clubs. The chemistry between the two is instant. In addition, they are both familiar with circumstances because Isabella’s father use to work for the family. Because of the attraction and her father, the Lurussio family offers her a deal to be their reporter and write the stories they want to be published. Isabella takes the job because, well does she really have a choice? It definitely starts as a love-hate relationship that quickly advances to love-love. However, being someone who is trying to spill the family’s secrets, will need to try really hard to gain her trust, but she needs it from him too, the lady’s man. Can the two of them find common ground to do what is best for all families involved? Can they learn to trust each other, even when love is clearly present?
As all the other books in this series, it was a great, quick, sexy read. The author has a great way of just getting to the point – I am not a slow-burn lover and this author never keeps you waiting. Both characters were quite loveable and you can see the growth of love they both portray for each other. I also love that you can see the trust unfold through the story on both sides – it just makes the love story seem more believable. I am not sure if this is the end of the series it seemed like yes, but I know there are more characters that can become important pieces for the family so I hope to continue to read more on the Lurussio family.

This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed reading. This is a well written story that has a lot of emotion including funny parts. I enjoyed how the author used details to make the story come to life on each page. This is a story about three women and a man. A story of a man who just keeps getting hit with disastrous women, one after the other. But what will happen in November and what fate has instored for these characters are something you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed how connectable the characters are. They brought laughter and other emotions to the story. They made it easy to read and made it hard to put down. They made the story for me, for sure. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. I highly recommend this book.

Travis is book one of the series. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author but it was a good read! It’s quick but it pulls you in until the end.
Riley and Tristan bump into each other and their connection is instant, even though Riley is sure Tristan doesn’t feel a connection. Tristan knows that his ex is going to be a problem and doesn’t want to bring that on Riley. Their connection builds as they continue to run into each other. Is that connection strong enough to withstand anything?
This book has it all. Suspense and steam are plenty! The characters are great and it’s very well written. The only thing you may find yourself wanting is more to their story. I highly recommend!

Three Women in November is a brilliant romance which has such a range of emotions. From the funny highs to the raw painful lows this story had me glued. Leo’s quest for love is an original tale, as he plays his hand with three strong and successful women. Based in Australia I thoroughly enjoyed this. Recommend.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was like a modern day 90210/Gossip Girl. Cecily was a wonderful character, and there was a lot of growth for her in this book. She is excited for her new opportunity, and she is loving her life with her boyfriend and her volunteer work. As things take a turn, she starts to question a lot of things and a lot of choices. Fame and everything behind the scenes is nothing as she expected. This was a book I would definitely read again, and give to my teenage daughter to read.

This was my first read in the series and by this author. This read is definitely geared towards older middle school aged/high school aged readers. It’s written well, and tackles normal issues for that age group. I didn’t feel lost even though I didn’t read the first two books. This book can definitely be a standalone but reading the first two would probably give more background on the characters.

Where Fire Meets Flame (Yours From The Ashes #1)
This is great book to read if you have a quiet afternoon on a weekend. Not very long, but it has enough happen to grab you and keep you reading and doesn’t skimp on details. I have read a few others by Ms. Kincaid and she hasn’t let me down.
Riley and Tristan go through a lot more than you would expect in the short time they know once another after meeting by chance after a wrong turn. And they keep finding themselves running into each other over the months in various ways.
Very entertaining book that pack a lot into a fairly short story. Looking forward to reading more in this series once released.

This was a good 4 star read. You get pulled in right from the beginning. Riley is a private detective who has some interesting cases. We get danger, suspense and so much more. Fate keeps bringing Riley and Tristan together. Tristan is a firefighter who wasn’t looking for anything until he met Riley, something about her pulled him in. Riley has some pretty high walls, can Tristan get through them? Riley is in danger, will Tristan be able to keep her safe? I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see who was after Riley and why. I really like the characters, you could feel their connection coming off the pages. I am looking forward to reading more from this series and author. This book was a page turner! I loved the enemies to lovers story line and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. Rae is a single and very independent woman who writes a travel blog. She is asked to pick up some work for a friend because the original writer couldn’t make it. Rae shows up to an amazing home in Georgia and she meets the homeowner, Dean. Dean was left at the altar a few years prior and he has a lot of feelings and baggage that he just pushes down and he swears off women and dating.. Dean’s sister is the one who set up the magazine article because she designed the house and he is rarely there. Rae and Dean do not get off on the right foot and after a few days they say their goodbyes. After the article is written, Dean reaches out to give his thanks but Rae doesn’t want to have anything to do with dating or even dinner with Dean. While attending a party where her best friend’s band is playing, she runs into Dean again, after all his company owns the contract for Brandon’s band. Dean decides he needs to spend time with Rae to see if whatever is happening or whatever they are feeling will be worked out and they can move on. They walk the park, they spend time eating and talking, and enjoying each other’s company. Rae says they are friends but Dean starts to feel more and becomes very jealous of the friendship that she has with Brandon. I loved getting to know the characters and would like to know even more about their pasts. I liked the story line that kept me turning the pages. I can’t wait to start the next book!

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by her. I enjoy her writing skills and her ability to pull me into her stories with ease. This book is no different. This is a young adult story about Cecily and how she believes she has it all. A new job, Andrew and working with charities but now the spotlight is on her and some are just waiting to watch her fall. What happens with Cecily you don’t want to miss. I enjoy her character and what she brings to the story. She is a strong character that has determination and just wants to be happy. There is great growth with her and the plot which made the story easy and entertaining to read. I found this story to be fast paced and hard to put down. It is a great story that I highly recommend.

Three Women in November by Jim Shomos is an entertaining read full of all the clever touches I have come to expect from this fabulous author. That it’s based on a true story gives it an extra element of interest for me.
Full of emotion, this story gives us a window into modern romantic Leo’s quest for love and the three strong, independent, and high achieving women that he connects with. With plenty of challenges, angst, highs and lows, chemistry, choices, humour, and drama- while being told from a male perspective, really gave it complexity and ‘character’, and made for a lovely and engrossing read.
Looking forward to exploring more of Mr. Shomos work.
