My Pearl HeartMy Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

where’s the movie?
I was pulled right into the story. I may have related a little too much to the toxic best friend situation which made me hate Candice, but I pretty sure that’s the point. I was truly invested in the story and appreciated the ending. I think that the characters were well written and very realistic.
I did give 4/5 stars because I was hoping for more, more back story, more character development.
I do look forward to reading more from J.N Sheats in the near future.

I loved the emotional pull between Finn and Abi. They were so guarded with one another while trying to navigate their rolls both in the show and in their personal lives. I could almost feel the emotional rollercoaster between them. I devoured this book in one setting!

Married Blind is the second book in the King of Screen Series and is a Hollywood Romance/Contemporary Romance that can be read as a standalone. This is a new author to me and I’m definitely going to check out the other books in this series. I truly enjoyed reading this little rom-com the characters are fun and developed and make the story come to life. I found myself chuckling at Finn and Abi and their bantering back and forth. These two have amazing chemistry between them. Is there more to their marriage than just convenience? Can they actually have a HEA? Are their feelings real or part of the script? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

When I read the synopsis for this book, I thought it was going to be a bit cheesy. A famous star joins a reality tv show to marry a non-famous, random girl he’s never met before. I did not account for how great this book was written! It’s so entertaining! There’s comedy, friendship, spite, sorrow, pain, and acceptance. There are so many layers to this story, and I loved it from beginning to end. I couldn’t put it down, but I also wanted it to last longer. Read this book, there is something in it for everyone. And read it with the accents, so much better!!!

Married Blind (Kings of Screen, #2)Married Blind by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Married Blind is the second book in a series called Kings of Screen. Abi is just a regular girl, working three jobs to help her sister pay off her debt from her cancer treatments. Finn is a hot, playboy movie star with a lot on his shoulders and trust issues. They meet in such an unconventional way one needs the money for her sisters debt and one needs to save his reputation so they agree to get married at first site and see what happens three months later. I was so surprised by how much I actually enjoyed Abi and Finns story, all of the books in this series are standalone stories, I haven’t yet read book one but had no issue following book two. Once I started I didn’t want to put this book down and Finn had me hanging by a thread once he opened himself up to Abi and the ‘real’ Finn came out, if only we can all find one of those, lol. The tension and spice level throughout the book is pretty high and it made them seem so much more connected. I absolutely enjoyed this book!

Imagine marrying a complete stranger, a celebrity at that…for a TV show. Abi and Finn go back and forth at first and Finn tries his hardest to keep his distance and not fall for Abi. He strongly believes she’s off limits and it’s hard for him to trust anyone. He’s had a bad experience with a woman and he assumes everyone ends up using him. Things could be so intense between them just as much as it was heart warming. I really do love the connection the main characters have, no matter how hard they try to fight it. Great story all around and I loved EVERY page. I love a good rom com with SPICE 🌶 I encourage every one to read this fantastic book if you love a good romance and a sucker for forced proximity!!

Abi ends up signing herself to a blind marriage to help get the funds to pay off her sister’s Cancer debt. Finn ends up on the show as well due to being caught with a daughter of someone important. Together, they get married, and their story enfolds. There is a lot of romance, thrill, drama, and friendship happening. I loved this book and actually read it as a standalone as I didn’t know there was a series. I’m going back now to read and catch up!

Abi and Finn’s first date is their wedding day. These two have their own reasons for getting married on a reality show. Ability and Finn find each other very attractive but they both have walls up. Will they be able to let each other in to get to know who they really are? I couldn’t help but root for them to really see each other and realize how good it could be. This author did an excellent job pulling me into the story and connecting me to the characters. As the story progresses we get to see the characters make bad decisions and make some good ones that help them grow. I can’t wait to read what the author has in store for us next.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Could you imagine that your first date with a fellow is your actual wedding date to him? We all have our reasons for getting married- love, money, happiness, position in life but what is yours? For Abi, she married for the money to pay off her sister’s incredible medical bill from cancer treatment. Finn married to rehab his reputation. Will these two find romance or are they strictly married for their personal reasons? Not only being married but being married on a Hollywood production and having almost every moment of their lives filmed, critiqued, and questioned?
Such a great read and so intriguing! No spoilers here of course but I love both of the main characters with all their flaws, reasoning, and baggage that follows them into their marriage. The story is told from both of their perspectives and it’s very interesting to be able to hear their inner thoughts on the matter. The characters are well developed and so it is easy to fall in love and then fall out of love with these two. Can I just say that some parts of the book had me yelling at Finn and Abi for the dumb way they handled things or for making such crazy decisions. A must read if you like romance. And the steamy scenes are definitely steamy!

Abi Johnson was determined to pay off her sister’s medical bills by working three jobs and giving up her social life. When her sister Eva and her best friend come up with an idea for Abi to go on a reality show she is convinced they have lost their minds. Reluctantly Abi agrees to be on the show Married Blind Celebrity edition. Three months, she could make it three months living an exciting, totally adventurous life while keeping her end goal of paying off the medical bills. Or so she thought.
Finn McCarthy is on his way to being an A-lister actor when his image and trust are destroyed by a conniving ex. Finn’s agent has signed him up for a reality show in hopes to clean up his image. Could Finn really pull off the biggest role of his life and not fall in love?
This was a great RomCon. It really makes you think could you be in this situation? Could you marry someone at first sight?? I can’t wait to read more from this series.

My Pearl Heart is a short contemporary romance that follows Jasmine and James. It was an easy story to follow but I did struggle at times to connect with the characters and their relationships, especially Cadence. The rest of the storyline was entertaining enough to keep me vested until the end. The author’s writing style and imagery was spot on, so I will definitely be checking out some of her other books.

Would it be easier to just get married on the first date versus the awkward getting to know you questions? That is precisely what Abi and Fin are about to find out as they meet and get married on a reality TV show. Fin is convinced he needs to do this to save his career, while Abi sees it as a break from her tiring life of three jobs and endless debt. Will actual sparks fly though? Can love really start this way, or is it just going to be one awkward encounter after another?

Morgana Bevan has written a gem of a book here, with realistic characters that you want to cheer for. I love how we got a mixed pov and we’re able to get more insight into what each character was actually thinking and a more in depth look at their lives through their own eyes/ thoughts. This modern day marriage of convenience, contemporary hollywood romance was definitely a fun fast read. The characters’ entertaining often sassy banter mixed well with the awkwardness of being forced together, and helped the story flow really well. I love the strength Abi, the main female character, shows throughout as she deals with one thing after another. It was also nice to get to know Fin and see why he made some of the choices he did. To know him was to fall in love with him! I definitely want to read more in this series and recommend this book.

This was a nice easy read! Of course to have a love story there’s a happy ending but I wanted more, I felt like something was missing as I read. I dont know if it was more back story but the story felt very forced. The characters were great but more development could have been for both! Over all a good love story if you like an ending you expect!

This was a great book. I loved both characters. Abi isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. Finn had legitimate trust issues and while I usually don’t enjoy stories where the conflict can easily be solved by a simple conversation, in this case it made sense to me what happened, the sequence of events, and why each reacted the way they did. It actually made sense. I was pulled into this story and had a hard time putting it down.

This is the first book by this author, and I DEVOURED it. It’s been snowing like crazy where I live, so what better time to pick up a steamy romance. It is a little lengthy, but the author is such a phenomenal writer and she sucks you in with every turn of the page.

I fell in love with Finn on page one. This man, yall. This man. Holy smokes. I love a good slow burn, but this one made me want to just throw some logs on the fire! It’s so perfect. Just watching the characters battle against each other and deny how they feel- chef’s kiss.

I’m in love with this book. Absolutely in love with it. I implore all of you romance readers to read it. Both books in the series can be read as a stand alone book, which is how I’m reading this one. Get yourself a copy, a cozy blanket, and some tea to curl up with because this book will not disappoint!!!

This is the 2nd book in the King of Screen series but the first one I have read. Besides wanting to hit Finn over the head through half the book, I loved it! No seriously Finn and Abi are perfect together even though they fight it for their own reasons. Married for 3 months to a stranger is harder than it seems when they are both fighting the raw chemistry that exists between them. Will they give in or run from each other?

Falling Home is about a woman, named Ginny, who returns to her small hometown to take care of her father while he is recovering from a pending surgery. She returns to a lot of people who are excited to have her back in town, including her ex-husband Max.

This was an adorable story about getting a second chance with someone that you miss and wish you never would have lost. It is set in the perfect, small town environment. The cherry on top is the time of the year. I am a sucker for Christmas romances. I really enjoyed the writing style from the author and the story is adorable. I’m not going to ruin the ending for you. If you want to know if Max and Ginny worked things you, you’ll need to pick up the story yourself.

Abi is an everyday woman. Finn is Hollywood royalty. They had never met, until it was time to get married!

The blurb I read seemed a bit unrealistic, but I am so glad I read this book! At the beginning, Abi appreciates Finn’s beauty, but…that’s about it. There aren’t a lot of desirable qualities to start with, but you keep seeing him in between all the attitude. By the end, I was rooting hard for Finn and Abi and really loved how deep and well written they are.

Great characters, fun world building…read this book!

I’m a pretty big fan of “marriage of convenience” tropes and this one was a lot of fun. I liked the reality TV aspect of it- I haven’t read any other book that used that. It wasn’t a drawn out read- always a win to me! Finn and Abi were both wonderful independently (well sometimes- I’m looking at you Finn!) and they were even better together! The chemistry between them was great- and the development of their relationship was refreshing. I like forced proximity stories (like forced to share one bed kind of thing) and this was satisfying. I’m excited for the rest of the Kings of the Screen series!!

This was a good read! I was thrown a little off by some of the reality TV stuff mentioned in the book, it’s not really my thing, but besides that this was a really good book. The chemistry between Abi and Fin was phenomenal. I enjoyed their banter and coming together even if forced proximity isn’t my favorite trope. I didn’t feel like I missed anything from the first one, so this can be read as a standalone. I’m excited to read more from this author in the future!

Married Blind is the first book I’ve ever read by Morgana Bevan and one of the few Hollywood themed romances I’ve ever read. Neither the author or the theme of the book disappointed.
Something as simple as Finn describing his ideal woman as a fiery redhead vs your stereotypical “hot blond” was enough to pique my interest in the storyline overall. I enjoyed that the book showed both Abi and Finn’s perspectives and the banter was fantastic. After reading this I realized it was part of a stand alone series and I look forward to reading more. Morgana Bevan is definitely an author I look forward to reading more this year.

I must admit this book did not go in the direction I thought it would – the storyline is definitely original and kept me guessing throughout! This book has several popular tropes rolled into one. Enemies to lovers, second chances, to name a few. Lots of interesting twists and turns and you realize all is not what it seems as you follow Jasmine’s story. She is a hard worker who is giving her business everything she has. There is not time for her own happiness, as her company demands so much from her physically and mentally. Que her “best friend/business partner” who you just can’t help but dislike. She is inconsiderate to Jasmine’s feelings and all about herself. So when Jasmine realizes that the only man to spark a fire inside of her, a complete stranger at the time, is engaged to her bff she is stunned. Then she gets the “honor” of organizing both the engagement party and wedding! Sheesh! Jasmine can’t catch a break, yet, she doesn’t really put her foot down either. What is a girl to do? This was my first read by this author and it was okay. The beginning seemed too fast paced for the plot. Towards the end it got better but seemed rushed due to the length of the book. Carmen and Patty were my favorites. I would’ve loved for the book to have been longer with more character development.
