This book was WILD. I loved the plot so much and find it so different from anything I’ve read before! James and Jasmine had chemistry off the charts but the marriage contract James has with jasmines best friend complicates things. I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. It was entertaining and a rollercoaster ride. I would read this cozied up in front of the fireplace again and again. Definitely worth checking out!!!

This book was a very quick read that packed a punch. I am giving this book 5 star because it was really well written and covers a lot in quick read. I would have loved more to the story, for it to be longer. The leading female in the book goes through her fair share of trauma before the story really begins. It highlights those life changing events and what has lead her to where she is. She meets the love of her life but there is a huge, HUGE, huge problem with that. Can they overcome that issue and can she figure out what she really wants in life? Those are what you will be asking yourself while reading this book. I finished this book in 2 hours and am really wanting more. There is a slow burn romance that flows throughout the book. This book is witty, entertaining, has a bit of drama, bleeding hearts, and slow burn romance. It has everything the romance reader is looking for in a short quick read.

Jasmine finds herself in love with her best friend’s fiancé. While there are many problems with just that statement alone, the two women run a successful, at one time, party planning business. So, while trying to keep the company afloat, Jasmine is having to plan an engagement party and wedding for the man she loves and Cadence. her best friend! But there are many twists and turns in the book and since I don’t give out spoilers, you will have to read it for yourself. Does Jasmine keep her boyfriend of three years, or does she end up with James, the man she truly loves?
This book had me hooked from the very first page. It is a great quick read and enjoyable. I could not put it down as I was invested in finding the truth and learning how Jasmine will find true. The characters are so perfect. The descriptions of them are wonderful and they just jumped off the page and came to life for me. Definitely a must-read book if you like clean cute romance stories.

My Pearl Heart

I have very mixed feelings about this book. I really like Jasmine, and the writing overall, but I found myself getting angry while reading and it shocked me to gave such a strong reaction to parts of the story along with characters. I usually have hearts in my eyes and smiles when I’m reading.

Jasmine needs to be loved plain and simple. She has lost so much and dealt with heart break for far too long.

James isn’t a bad guy, but he has definitely made some very bad decisions including the one he made just before we are introduced to him.

It was hard putting this one down since I couldn’t wait to see what happened. I would definitely read something written by her again, especially curious to see if i react the same way.

Jasmine was swept off her feet literally by a single kiss. Unfortunately for Jasmine within minutes of the most passionate kiss of her life, the man, James, who gave that kiss to Jasmine announced the engagement to her best friend and business partner. Jasmine has no family so she throws herself into building the event planning business that is Cadence’s dream. With the announcement of Cadence’s wedding to James Jasmine starts to learn more about herself and what SHE wants. Even if that happens to be one thing she can’t have.
This was a page-turner from the start! I could not put this book down. Yes, it did frustrate me at some points but I still needed to keep reading to find out what happened to Jasmine, Jame, and Cadence! Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book had me hooked from the start. This story took me on an emotional roller-coaster. I was angry at certain characters at different times while reading. I felt the hurt of betrayal and loss. I was glad to see Jasmine see things with a clearer perspective the further along we got. There were some unexpected turns in this story and the more I got to know James the more I started to like him. During most of this story I wanted to throw Cadence out a window (haha). Overall I enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading more from this author.

My Pearl Heart is a great contemporary romance novella. At only 88 pages I devoured this in one sitting as I really enjoyed the storyline and it flowed well keeping me engaged.
I really liked both of the main characters Jasmine and James. Jasmine’s best friend, who is also James’ fiancée is another matter. I really did not understand how someone as sweet as Jasmine could have a person like Cadence as a best friend. I don’t think she has a single quality that I liked or admired. Such a horrible, nasty piece of work, only interested in one thing…herself.
I really enjoyed reading Jasmine and James’ story and was hoping that they would get the HEA that they deserved as these two were totally meant for each other.
Even for a short read, the author managed to have quite a bit of content, making this a very enjoyable, entertaining read.
If you’re looking for something quick and enjoy a good romance then I’d recommend this book for you.

The lord I read of Cadence , the less I like her , she’s spoilt , mean , unkind and entitled and Jasmine deserves better ! Jasmine goes without so her staff can get paid while Madam Cadence lives it up , that makes my blood boil 😡

James is a very bad boy , a delectable speciMAN, yes , a great kisser , yes , a flirt and charmer , yes and Jasmine and I aren’t immune to him 😂😍

Please don’t judge James to harshly he’s actually a honey ❣️

If you like angst and drama this is a read for you. The three main characters are Jasmin, Cadence and James. They each have secrets and desires that you discover as you read the story. I found the story interesting, but struggled connecting with the characters – especially Jasmin. I did enjoy the author’s style and kept reading as I did want to see how it ended. Romance, drama, roxic friendships, and so many ups and downs .

I loved this book from the first chapter and could not put it down. The author truly pulled at all my emotions with this story. I was mad, sad, confused, annoyed, and eventually satisfied with the ending. I got a very “The Wedding Planner” vibe reading this book which was great since that is one of my favorite movies. The characters ran the gamut from antagonist to protagonist which only added to the story. The author did an excellent job keeping me on the edge of my seat with this book. It is a remarkable story.

Jasmine is a woman on her own. She is a good friend, a business owner that plans events with her friend Cadence, and someone happy with her freedoms – until James Conner comes along and literally sweeps her off her feet with a passionate kiss. That would be great, if he didn’t immediately announce his engagement to Cadence afterwards!

James Conner is the black sheep in a family of well known and successful businesspeople. He missed out on the successful, good decision making gene. He’s a drunk, known for spending his time wallowing in self pity after a string of bad business decisions. Now, however – he has a plan, and a contract. It starts with marrying Cadence and getting the funding for a new business venture and ends with a mutual divorce. What he didn’t plan on was Jasmine, or his growing attraction to her.

Cadence is a character you love to hate. She is greedy, mean, selfish, and is completely unreliable. At the start of the book, Jasmine loves her beyond her faults and loves her friend regardless, but as she and James continue to feel the draw of the other, she notices the less desirable qualities that overwhelm her from Cadence. James admits to her the marriage is one of convenience and was agreed upon by both parties, but Jasmine has so many reasons to say no.

Will they walk away from one another, or will Jasmine pursue the feelings James has evoked in her? Fun read, sweet story, recommend.

My Pearl Heart is a Contemporary Romance that is a fast paced short story that I devoured in one sitting. This is a fairly new author to me but their style of writing and attention to detail with fully developed and relatable characters make for an amazing story. This is a story about Jasmine and James. She’s been running away from memories for a while now . She puts a thousand percent into everything she does and her business in which she started with her friend is going to be going through some changes and soon. James is the hot hot guy she threw out of his parents party. James has big dreams as well. Can these to get what they both want? I don’t want to give away anything. But I highly recommend reading this book. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author

This book opened with a banger!! To be kissed like a stranger how she was kissed??? I totally get why she struggled not to be attracted to her best friend’s boyfriend…. If your best friend was the epitome of a mean girl.
This book is like a late 90/early 2000s chick flick. The pining, the drama, the long wait for characters to get their act together. I really did enjoy reading this and watching Jasmine find her groove was beautiful. Can I get a movie please?!

Jasmine Hayes is a savvy businesswoman who spends most of her time and energy running the business she owns with her best friend and partner, Cadence. Their business, Divine Events, caters to the most rich and successful people in New England. Jasmine throws herself into her work planning social events for the wealthy and elite upper class as a way to forget her painful past. Her life is going good until James Connor comes along and turns Jasmine’s world upside-down.

James literally sweeps Jasmine off her feet after she slips and falls and before she knows what is happening James suddenly kisses her. Jasmine is swept up in the passion and intensity of the kiss and afterwards finds that she cannot stop thinking about James. Unfortunately, fate has intervened and Jasmine learns that James is engaged to her best friend, Cadence. Not only that, but James’ family is the wealthiest family in New England and are practically considered royalty. Jasmine has no business swooning over a man that she cannot have, nor should she try to be involved with a man who has a reputation for drinking heavily and making poor business decisions. Jasmine does everything she can to avoid James, but as Cadence’s best friend, and wedding planner, it is impossible to avoid James or Cadence. No matter how hard she tries to avoid him, James seems to pop up everywhere and makes it impossible for Jasmine to forget him or their incredibly passionate kiss.

James has not been able to stop thinking about Jasmine since he first met her two years ago at an event she organized for his family. Jasmine is known for not only being a savvy businesswoman but for her quick wit and hot temper. It was her hot temper that got the best of her when she kicked James out of his own party. At first, James was upset and angry but then he realized that Jasmine was right to kick him out and it was the boost he needed to turn his life around. Two years later, he has worked hard to stand on his own two feet and become a better person. The only thing standing in their way is his upcoming nuptials to Jasmine’s best friend, Cadence. Even when Jasmine learns that the marriage is nothing more than a business deal between James and Cadence it does nothing to change her mind about being with him. He is still forbidden fruit for Jasmine, and she does not know if she can wait for his and Cadence’s business deal to be complete in two years so she can be with him.

I immediately liked the character of Jasmine and felt that she was very relatable. She was smart, sassy, feisty, quick-witted, and had a bit of a hot temper at times which intrigued me. Jasmine was not only a savvy businesswoman but she valued her employees and put their needs above her own which I found commendable. James came across initially as a bit of a player at first. In all honesty, I could not stop thinking as I read that he was a jerk for kissing Jasmine while her best friend, his fiancée, Cadence, was in the other room. It was something that I felt only a real player would think was okay to do. However, as I started reading and got more involved in the story, I realized there was more to James than what I initially thought. Although he might have started out as a spoiled, rich kid Jasmine made him realize that he was not on a good path and that he needed to change his ways. After meeting Jasmine at one of his family’s social functions he worked hard to turn his life around. If Jasmine had not told him off and thrown him out of his own party he might have hit rock bottom. From that moment on, James could not stop thinking about the woman who made him want to be a better man. Jasmine obviously had a profound effect on James for him to want to change.

The character of Cadence was one that I wanted to slap many times throughout the book. She was clearly spoiled, self-centered, controlling, manipulative, and cruel. The way she treated Jasmine who was supposed to be her best friend was appalling. Poor Jasmine tried not to see the bad in her friend and did her best to brush it off and make excuses for her, but it still hurt her deeply. Jasmine overlooking her friend’s bad behavior was relatable because too often we are oblivious to how we are being treated by those that are supposed to love us and we only want to see the best in them. It is not until after the fact that we can see the relationship for what it was and realize that the warning signs were there all along. I feel that for many of us this is something we have experienced so it is easy to see why Jasmine tried to ignore how Cadence treated her.

This was a remarkable read that was full of love, passion, romance, wit, humor, and even some hard lessons about the importance of true friendship. I highly recommend.

This book hooks you in from the very first page! You have to know what and why right away! Jasmine has had some ups and downs in her life. She lost her parents, moved away, started a business with a friend Candence, and has been throwing herself into their business ever since. She and her friend organize events for the social elite with their business- Divine Events. Unfortunately her friend’s extreme personality gets in the way more than it helps!! When a random guy (James) sweeps her off her feet, literally! and kisses her like a starved man, it throws Jasmine off her axel completely. James comes from a rich family who are the closest thing to royalty in New England. His smugness and no care attuite show it too. Drinking and making a mess of his life and business choices has him rethinking his path after Jasmine mistakes him for a guest and kicks him out of his parents anniversary dinner! Yeah she didn’t know who he was! Talk about awkward!! First he plans to marry Candence. Yes! Jasmine’s best friend!! After he just kissed her too! Way to go best friend, kissing the fiancé. Ugh!! Not only that but now she has to help plan the wedding too!! Boy oh boy you are in for a a treat with this one!! Can Jasmine with her redheaded temper cool it enough to plan this outrageous wedding with her friendship in tact? Will Candence find out about the kiss and blow everything up in revenge? Their business is already struggling and this wedding is a bit out of control. Can James keep his hands to himself long enough to make it down the isle and get the money he needs to start his new business venture? What about this crazy contract between James and Candence?! This is just a disaster waiting to happen and time is ticking for them all!

Jasmine and her best friend started Divine Events, so all her time is split between organizing events and keeping her best friend happy. She has nothing to complain about until James Conner and throws her world into a frenzy. Only to turn around to announce his engagement to her best friend…

The Conner family is old money and full of success, but James has a past that is a bit different. With a string of poor choices behind him, drinking and business decisions alike, he’s determined to fix things up. Unfortunately, that means marrying Cadence to get the money to start his new business and then followed by a divorce both are happy to move forward with.

Jasmine, however, wasn’t part of the plan. He can’t keep her out of his mind and wants nothing more than to be with her. Can he convince her that she has his heart while Cadence has his last name?
This shot book has so much potential. I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters are beautifully done. There were several errors that were hard to get past, though, and I wish we could’ve had a bit more detail on the relationship with Cadence and Jasmine.

Overall, I enjoyed this and found it to be a fairly quick read. I’d definitely read more like it.

Oh my heart suffered with this one ❣️

The injustice of it all , going to hail for a crime you did not commit 🥲 at least when Ted is released the first face he meets is a friendly one , the moment the elderly lady shared her juicy apples with him I know I’m done for , kindness speaks volumes 😍he’s on his way home to help his family with their Christmas farm and winery ..,.

Now Ted needs to keep his nose clean and out of trouble , his family is so excited to have him home and now they start living and healing from their wounds left by the harsh judgment passed by the judge that was determined to make an example of Ted …..

Sam is his probation officer and not did I laugh when a pretty dainty lady arrived as opposed to a man 😂but she’s good people and she hats heart of gold 😍

The love this family shared is precious and something to treasure it brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion

Robyn was Ted’s love and thought the trial she was there to support him and she was on her way to becoming a hotshot lawyer I’m the big city but then life happened , Robyn stayed home and looked after her grandmother living a serene life in her hometown …..

I’m not sure if it’s because I was in a tender state before reading this book but let me tell you something I cried hard I’m not even going to try and deny it but here’s the thing these people are so real and what happened to them is so unfair and this story is about their redemption, forgiveness, healing and moving on .

This is one of those reads that you want to share but also don’t want to share because you feel like you’re betraying them but at the same time sharing their story will encourage others 🥰

Jasmine and Cadence are best friends. Cadence is marrying James, who maintains a weirdly flirty demeanor with Jasmine in private, especially for someone who recently got engaged. Jasmine has a long time boyfriend, Bryan, but neither seem all that invested in each other or the relationship.
Cadence is the typical spoiled rich girl who always wants all the attention and uses and abuses the people around her to get what she wants. She treats Jasmine like a door mat and everyone can see it except Jasmine, who just wants to be loved by someone. Throw in some business dealings and shady behavior, and it’s a twisty tale of deceit and letting go of the thorns that looked like roses.
All in all, I didn’t hate the book, but I also didn’t love it. This book just had a couple of themes that play into stories I don’t particularly care for: lead female is a weak, predictable character in an overplayed trope; and a “nice/good” person wears their kindness like some martyr badge, sacrificing themselves and their happiness while making themselves the underdog in their own story.

This book took me by surprise. Jasmine meets a stranger at her best friend’s house that kisses her so passionately it sparks a huge flame. Within minutes she learns that this stranger is James Connor and he is off limits. The author takes you through each relationship which some are toxic and did get to me. Half way through the book, the author throws you a curve in the story. For most of the story I was made at Jasmine, James, the best friend and the boyfriend but as the story went on my feelings towards Jasmine and James changed. I guess the more of the story the better it got. To say this book had me in my feelings is an understatement. If you are looking for a book to kind of make you mad, feel the emotions of loss and betrayal but still end with a happy ending then this book is definitely one to read.

My Pearl Heart is a story about a woman named Jasmine Hayes. She is a witty, beautiful, smart business owner of Divine Events. She comes from a socialite family and after her parents died, she went into business with her best friend, Cadence. Cadence is an unreliable, money-hungry, selfish business partner. The first chapter actually starts with Jasmine making out with a stranger in Cadence’s kitchen. She quickly comes to find out this stranger is James Conner, an old client’s arrogant son and Cadence’s new fiance. Needless to say, Jasmine is shocked to find out this news, and even more when hears that Cadence wants her to plan her wedding. Jasmine is professional, but how is she going to get through this when she has never had a feeling like the one James gave her? Throughout the story, James is super flirty and comes clean that he wants her and the marriage is just a “scam” to help each other’s needs. She also wants him but they just can’t for so many reasons. However, will they find a way to make it work, will it be worth it, and will Jasmine allow Cadence to continue treating the business and people around her like crap?
I really enjoyed this book. I think it was a storyline different than the normal enemies-to-lovers/friends-to-lovers mentality. Cadence was that annoying, thinks she is better than everyone character that you just want to punch her in the face. However, Jasmine and James were great characters. Jasmine is a confident, established, smart woman who is also very down to earth. James is a pain in the ass, but no bullshit type of man. He has always made his feelings pretty known to Jasmine and really continues to fight for what he wants. The banter, the description of how he looks at her, etc were all really sexy. The building of a love story was a good one!

Quick read. Not my favorite story this year but it is a quick read and it will keep you entertained for a couple hours. Business partners in a party planning company, Cadence and Jasmine have been friends since college, but will that all change now.
Jasmine is the sensible one in the party planning business while Cadence is the spoiled brat partner that gets her way all the time. However what happens in this story happens when Jasmine is trying to plan the wedding of James and Cadence. Interesting and irritating to say the least.

Jasmine has had a rough past. The death of her parents and the way the other people treated her after has left her quite alone in her world. However, she busies herself with keeping he company, Divine Events, running alongside her friend Cadence. However, a kiss with a hot stranger sets her life on a path she couldn’t have seen coming.

James has had a rocky path when it comes to business…but his new venture is going to be different. However, he needs the financial backing, and he knows just the person. It will be a mutual benefit for them…he will get the funding and she will get the perks that come with having his last name. But he didn’t intend to fall for the quick tempered Jasmine. How can he make it work with her while keeping his venture with Cadence afloat?

This was a good book that kept me entertained from beginning to end. I felt for Jasmine and it was sad to see how the people in her life were using her…and she was too nice to do anything about it. When she told the story of her past, my heart just broke for her. However, with James’ help (whether she will admit that or not), Jasmine was able to stand up for herself and put her wants and needs above everyone else’s! Quite an enjoyable read!

I had no idea what this book was about when I opened it. I just really loved the cover art. That being said, I have mixed feelings about My Pearl Heart. The first half of the book I was really annoyed at what was happening and feeling like I was missing information. The whole relationship between Jasmine and James really didn’t sit right with me. They were expressing interest right under the nose of Candice. However, as the book goes on and we are given more details, things start to fall into place. Once all was revealed, my feelings switched to justifiable karma and I ended up liking the ending. I thought the author did a great job bringing everything together and wrapping up the story nicely. I would read more by this author, and recommend the book. But, give it a shot. I wasn’t feeling it in the beginning, but I liked it at the end.

I knew going in based off the title it would be a strangers get married trope but I so enjoyed this!
The author showed who each character was but still kept some details to find throughout the story.
Finn and Abi were great to read about as both are vulnerable in their own ways but still looking for love, whether one of them thinks it or not.
I was hooked from page 1 and I loved how this story unfolded and the emotions this elicited from me for both of them.

I was drawn to My Pearl Heart because I loved the cover art. Once I read the first page, I knew I made the right choice. I have mentioned in reviews before that I tend to load my Kindle with books and read them “blind” not remembering or rereading the synopsis… this was one of those books. My Pearl Heart has great characters, ones you love and ones you love to hate (looking at you, Cadence). While I liked that this was a short book, there were times I wish it were longer. I wouldn’t say the storyline was rushed, I just would have loved more time with James and Jasmine. Especially James! Overall, great story from an author I look forward to reading more from.

What a whirlwind of a romance that lays in this novella!

Jasmine and her “friend” Cadence own an event planning business… more so Jasmine does all the work we come to realize very quickly! Cadence betrays Jasmine in so many ways.

Jasmine is able to find her prince charming and it all started with an unforgettable kiss! He may not have been available at first but things change when the truth comes out!
