My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is a well written story that had me coming back for more. I enjoyed how the author used her writing skills to make the story come to life. This is a story that could cause triggers in parts but if you can get past those you will find a story that will tick all the boxes. This is a story about an ex-football player and a single parent who needs more confidence in herself. One risks their heart to be shattered and the other holds the key to opening the heart. These are great characters that I enjoyed watching their growth. They have great chemistry and support each other. They made the story for me for sure. This is a fast paced, engaging story that is hard to put down. I found this story to be easy to read and entertaining. It filled my afternoon with romance and a great story. I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it.

The Lie That BindsThe Lie That Binds by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nathan is popular, drop dead gorgeous and part of the group of popular kids in high school. The girls drool over him and want to be with him, and the boys want to be him. Nathan seemingly has it all but he’s harboring a deep, dark secret that could destroy everything he has worked so hard for. He is so terrified of having his secret discovered that he has built up lie after lie to protect himself. He bullies and torments anyone that is less popular than he is and keeps everyone at a distance so he can keep his secret from being discovered.

Holly has just started attending Nathan’s high school and is determined to be one of the popular kids so she can fit in. On her first day of school Holly approaches Nathan and the rest of the popular kids and asks them if she can sit with them at their table for lunch. She is instantly shot down, mocked, and left to feel inferior. Naturally after treatment like that from Nathan and his friends Holly is disgusted when her and Nathan end up as lab partners. Although she finds Nathan to be gorgeous, she also knows how much of a jerk he is and wants nothing to do with him.

When Holly accidentally discovers Nathan’s secret everything changes. Nathan decides the best way to handle the situation is to pretend to like Holly and ask her out. As both Holly and Nathan get to know one another better they fall deeply in love. When Holly finds out their relationship is a sham and based on a lie she is devastated. When the web of lies start to unwind both Nathan and Holly’s lives are changed forever. Will Holly and Nathan ever be the same afterwards?

The characters of Holly and Nathan were wonderfully written. Both were typical teenagers battling all the typical drama that comes with high school. Holly was a true sweetheart who saw there was more to Nathan than he let on. Nathan acted like a jerk on the surface but that is not who he was nor who he wanted to be. It was all an act to protect himself and enable him to navigate his way through high school. This book was wonderfully written and described very well the cliques, the bullies, the mean girls, the jealousy and all the rest of the teen drama that comes with high school. High school can be traumatizing, and a great deal of importance is placed on fitting in.

This book is absolutely amazing! I read it so fast and it held my attention throughout. This is the kind of romance that isn’t over the top and is very believable. I also felt that the main characters really felt believable. Truthfully, I wanted to be friends with all of them.
Tia is the main female character. She has lived a life full of mistakes when she was younger and they are coming back to haunt her. She goes on a cabin weekend with her best friend to act as her assistant on a photo shoot. She wasn’t expecting that this photoshoot was for a calendar of the men of the local hockey team. She decides to indulge herself and allow herself a weekend only fling with the man who seems to get under her skin more than anyone else ever has. Bridger is smitten with Tia and after the weekend, he wishes that their tryst will continue. Tia and Bridger end up falling for each other, however, once they do her past comes to haunt her. She feels that she will never live down her poor choices of her past. Is Bridger the man who is willing to look past her mistakes and see her for who she is today. Or will he be persuaded by her past to run for the hills?
This book is truly amazing and I cannot say enough for how much I enjoyed it. It truly is an enjoyable read and a quick one a that.

Holly is the new girl in school, she has been here before and she is hoping that she won’t have to be here again, but she decides that this time will be different, this time, she will be one of the popular kids, this time, she won’t be an outcast, so apart from the usual first day jitters when she has to introduce herself to each of her classes, but there is one thing she doesn’t expect and that is how gorgeous one of the popular kids is. One lunch, Holly finally decides to try her luck at the popular table, but as usual, it backfires and she is back to being the pariah, back to being insulted and terrorized by the popular kids as they bully her again, so she again gravitates to the outcasts who she knows will take her in and become the friends she needs and wants.

As the days pass and the novelty of being the new girl wears off, all she has to do now is not freak out every time she sits with her chemistry lab partner, who just happens to be the gorgeous popular guy who is one of the main bully’s in the school, but sometimes when he thinks nobody sees, flashes of what lies behind the façade show through, but it isn’t until her friend is the target of a malicious prank that she sees just what he is hiding.

Holly discovers the lie which this person has been hiding behind, she discovers just what they have worked so hard to protect and she discovers just how terrified they are that people will discover just how scared they are that everyone will find out and what the consequences of that would be. This lie binds Holly and her lab partner together, but what lengths they will go to keep this lie intact? This is an intense contemporary romance which deals with some hard hitting subjects and will leave you hooked as you follow along on the journey one lie can take someone on and how it affects everyone who comes into contact with it.

There are things you feel you can learn from novels, but rarely is there a novel out there that has you learning how your own emotions work again. That was this one for me. Honestly, I laughed, shook my head numerous times, and cried. Man, did I cry. Happy tears, devastated tears, helpless tears, all of them. This author is something else, and I can’t say enough about her writing that just made me so happy that I read this masterpiece.

The relationship between Katrina, TJ, and Toby is one for the ages. Building, and maintaining a family dynamic is difficult, and I found that this story gave the difficulty the recognition it needs. Having been a single Mom before meeting my partner, the emotions enveloped me immediately, throughout their story. The strength and courage that each of them brought to each other was genuine, and I loved every moment. Not to mention all the precious baby moments. Just when I thought I had my tears in check, the epilogue took that and, well, I will be reading this again soon, and you should too! Highly recommend.

This is a new author to me, so I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to think, but I found a truly unique story that delves into a single parent story and all the drama and angst that comes along with that ride. It really makes you appreciate the men, and women, who are so special and take on the role of loving not only you but your child as well. This book made me cry a lot. From happy tears of joy to sad tears reminding me of my own mom being a single parent and having a difficult time finding someone to love and accept both of us with our flaws. This was a cathartic book in so many ways for me. It is a book I recommend that any single parent read, but it is also a great book just for the story and purpose behind it. Highly recommend reading this book.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It tells the story of Katrina, TJ, and Toby. Kristina is a pregnant artist who moves to this small town. She ends up meeting the “man from her dreams and paintings.” At a furniture store. They have this whirlwind romance that is truely one made for movies. Kristina has her baby Toby, and her mind starts getting foggy. Things just arent making sense. TJ find kristina over in a ditch and finally makes her get help.
This is a story of love, and knowing its okay to get help after having a child if your struggling.

She’s a pop princess and he’s a town mayor. Eric loves Kiki, but dating her comes with a lot of publicity and he’s not sure he can handle the pressure and keep his mayoral job intact. Kiki has only ever seen toxic relationships and people using others for their own gain; while Eric didn’t even know who she was when they met, she can’t help feeling insecure about their relationship and his motives for pursuing her. When the publicity of the couple ramps up and a secret from Kiki’s past surfaces, she questions if things can even work out between them given her own reservations and Eric’s hesitancy to be in the limelight.
This is a super sweet romance without all the gory details, reminiscent of a Hallmark movie. It’s full of great friendships, repaired sibling bonds, and a couple who genuinely loves one another. I adored this book, and most of the characters in it!

Real love is to be unconditional, right? This isn’t your traditional “single-parent” love story. One never knows how much of an impact your past can have on your future love life until it is brought up uninvited. TJ is handed Katrina’s past confessions, but can he accept them when it goes against his beliefs. While based on a true story, this author did a phenomenal job of putting this story into words. She captivates us with her writing skills and keeps us reeled into the story from beginning to end. Highly recommended read!

This is one of those reads that just hit home and I’m not sure how to put words to what’s going on inside of me …..

First off I just love the cover and think it’ll make a beautiful puzzle to build , frame and mount on the wall and after reading what’s between the pages it will take on a whole new meaning ….

Being a farmer myself and it being harvest season and having labour issues this read was close to home and I identified on so many levels with what was happening ….

My heart just broke for their father and the loss he experiences as a farmer and a man and all I wanted to do was climb into this book and love on theses people

There was so much to this read , it was raw , it was real , it was human ❤️

There was suspense, mystery , romance , forgiveness , grace , tragedy, resilience …. I cried hard , I laughed hard and I worked hard

These are people I want to keep to myself but at the same time I want to share their trial and tribulations ❣️📕

This is a beautifully written story. The author has filled this story with so many emotions it is a real rollercoaster of a read. The additional twists and turns makes this story so much more than a normal romance. The passion and connection between Kat and TJ is so magical and intense you feel completely drawn into their story.

Kat is a recently divorced woman who moves to this small place where she knows no one. She is planning on creating a new life for her and her baby and she plans on doing this on her own.
However fate has a different idea. And that comes in the form of TJ.

TJ used to be a NFL player who after her retired became a chemistry teacher. He has always wanted to settle down in life and have a family. So when Kat walks in to his parents shop she takes his breath away and there is a spark he’s never felt before. But surely she’s married right?

What follows is a beautiful story and along the way we see fate lending a helping hand in this couples lives in a way neither of them expected. But things aren’t always plan sailing and when Kat starts to confess somethings that go against everything TJ knows and believes can they work through it and trust fate and follow their hearts or will their heads and past experiences stop them from being able to make that final leap together?

I have always loved this author truly! I always read their books with such intrigue and get whisked away into the story and the characters in which it holds. This one was sensational from start to finish. I was hooked, and held, the book had everything I would want and more! Amazing read and writing!

Mia and Dylan were two souls that brought on the heat sort to say. The truth between them though, that was a card that was needed to be played, but what would the consequence be? I loved how the story was such a easy read and the romance had its very own realism. The secrets were vivid as well. The story hooked me spot on, and I was constantly wondering how things would turn out. The twists that unfolded and the turns the story took were unpredictable. I was intrigued all the way through, and I could not put this gem of a book down! Amazing read with sensational writing! Loved it!

As always, I love all the books this gifted author creates and writes. This book was a fast and super good read for me! I was entranced by all it held! Defiantly a must read book and highly recommended by me!

This book really had the heart-warming aurora going on. And that small town feel. I loved the characters and their development they had as I read through! I was swept away, and felt I was transported to the beautiful farm. The book had a lot of heart and was a wonderful sweet read all the way through!

Corrie was a wonderful character; she was strong and did what she must to make it in this thing we call life. She thought she had everything she needed. But perhaps life had other plans. Meeting someone out of the blue, a person she helped in a time of need. The chemistry between them was undeniable but soft and sweet and the same time. Aaron was a sweetie as well, and you could care he generally cared. The book was not easy flow like using a plow all the way through, there were bumps, and I mean some bumps were the type to make you question everything and knock you down. Sometimes faith and a helping hand can make you see and feel otherwise. I loved the power of the heart that was shown in this book, as well as love and trust. All goes hand in hand! And the power of family! Loved it!

Such good read, it was a quick read for me as well. I was very much in touch with the story and the characters as I read. For sure, a high recommendation from myself, and this book is for sure a must read!

This was a truly wonderful and touching story. The characters were very connectable, and my emotions of my own heart were all over the place as I read. It was beautiful to read, and I really felt everything for the characters that molded together as I read. Amazing writing as well! Sensational read!

The book was realistic and had excellent character development. You connect with the characters so well, if you love them hate them, or even question their motives. The more I read, the more I fell for the words of the characters. I know in life when something seems to be going right there’s that card that gets played that could change everything. And its up to the people to work through it. This book was full of light and hope. A passion that seemed fulfilled at every turn. Loved the story and writing!

Could not get enough of this wonderful book. I cried, laughed, so much as I read. Highly recommend this must-read book. Look forward to more works by this wonderful author, they have a true gift for writing.

This story is told basically day by day for the first and second half. I really struggled with that. It just became boring to me reading about the mundane everyday life stuff. I wish it had moved along at a better clip. I really enjoyed the idea of the story. The coincidences these two have and how they met are intriguing and deserve a story. The characters are built nicely but I did not love them. The connection just got overridden by the storyline. His family is a dream! I enjoyed them all and they added some fun to the story.

I did love that cover which is what made me give this one a shot.

Oh my goodness, heartwarmer and tearjerker all in one. I love this story. Kat feels a sense of déjà vu, even in the guy she meets (TJ). She is pregnant and a surprise delivery brings TJ into her life. This story will bring out all the emotions as they work through their baggage. They are drawn to each other but don’t know why. Could it be reincarnation? The sense of déjà vu floats through the whole book. The characters are wonderful. TJ’s family is so accepting and feel just like a wonderful family next door. The sisters are characters. Ginny, Penny and Lydia kept me entertained. The plot was so beautiful and smooth, not a chunky mess. A beautiful romance. A second-chance, contemporary romance that everyone should read. I would give it more than 5 star review if I could.

Sensitive topics are addressed that may be a trigger for some readers.

Key To His Heart is sweet and heart-warming and was inspired by true events which makes the story even more interesting. It is a fantastic and touching story that captivated me from start to finish. I was fully invested in these intriguing complex characters and their stories. There are so many emotions and never a dull moment as the story progresses and reaching straight to your soul.

With plenty of drama, angst, passion, compassion and healing it has something for every romance lover. It is told in dual POV. This contemporary romance showcases deeply woven connections between our MC’s that are hot and sizzling and certainly seemed to be written in the stars.

Katrina is hurt and trying for a new start in a small town where no one knows her and her secret.

TJ is at that time in his life when he wants a family and kids. He finds the beautiful soul meant for him his soul mate. But he starts to wonder when things go awry.

Well wow, what can I say. I truly enjoy these books. Tj and Kat are both very etching and the addition of TJs extended family, adds another dimension to the book. Kat having Toby was an amazing start and not how I expected this story to start with a divorce. The interaction between Kat and TJs family is that of a nature where you feel a connected bond. I love Kat’s art style and the addition of the vision of love made me think of these two as the ultimate soul mates.

Everything I’ve seen and heard in my loveless past makes sense now, and it’s led me to TJ. The faceless man I conjured in my mind. The missing puzzle piece.

I wasn’t prepared for sparks to fly, filling my life with endless love, comfort, and safety. TJ, Toby, and I are inseparable, like a genuine family. The old me is long gone. Or so I thought.

Right after I confess my love to TJ, I tumble into the black hole of hell. My perfect façade begins to crumble, and I can’t mask it anymore. Once TJ sees between the cracks, he’ll leave Toby and me, just like everyone else has. I’m a survivor, but losing him will destroy me.

TJ

When I love, I love big, and it’s my worst downfall.

After I burst through a stranger’s door, Katrina and her newborn son, Toby, are pushed into my world. My hopeful soul whispers to me that we’re meant to be together. Can I trust it, though?

On the best night of my life, the beautiful woman I gave my heart to isn’t the same one who’s kicking me out of her house right now.

My family says it’s just a phase, and I’m trying to be patient. But her unpredictable mixed signals weigh heavily on my chest. Will my heart be shattered into a million pieces again?

Katrina owns the key to my heart, and she’s the only one who can unlock it.

***This book was inspired by real-life events, but takes place in a fictional world. It features a lovable ex-NFL player turned chemistry teacher, and a single mom who’s never felt loved. It’s an intense single parent, emotionally explosive story, filled with swoony times and sweet baby moments. HEA guaranteed. Sensitive topics are addressed that may be triggering for some readers.

I always love a well written slow burn novel, and this one did not disappoint! I loved Nicco and Destiny, they had really great chemistry from the start. She is a little gun shy because she is afraid of putting herself back out there and getting hurt, and he is a up and coming playboy actor and musician. Italy is known for love and romance, and being Italian you would think that he would be ready to fall in love with a woman but past heartbreaks have left him a little jaded and weary of women. Can Destiny change his mind and his heart, or is it a lost cause?

I loved watching their relationship grow despite it, the realisticness of the story made it that much more enjoyable. I haven’t read any stories by this author before, but she has a fantastic writing style, with great attention to detail and the ability to suck the reader in from the very beginning. We’ve all been there at some point in our lives… A fan girl. Having a famous idol as a crush. The story starts out with our girl Destiny meeting her idol/crush, and it’s a whirlwind story from there. What I liked most about this book is that both characters are flawed. In most books that I’ve read it’s usually one flawed character being saved by the other not so flawed character. However as I mentioned both of them are flawed and they have to dig deep to get to the root cause of their issues, and basically save themselves. One thing Is for sure I do wish that Destiny had a little bit more self-confidence in herself. Overall it was a slow and steady burn kind of story. There was great character growth and development, and an HEA in the end!

This is my first book by this author and I loved this story of Evan and Callie. The raw emotion between Evan and Callie feels so real.

Evan…newly retired from the NHL heads to Bellevue and become an athletic trainer for the woman’s gymnastics team. Focusing on himself and his mental health…trying to become the best version of himself…little did he know when meeting Callie how this chance encounter could forever change him. Callie is so strong, driven and smart .. but loves with all her might. She falls for Evan and is always is in his corner when he struggles. Can Evan and Callie overcome the obstacles that come their way?

This story really gives you so much…and it feels like everyday real life in so many ways that I can relate to. This story has love and hope but also the pain and anxiety when mental health is in question. Fantastic book

This is an adorable story of love and loss, sadness and joy, coincidence and fate. The main characters were so sweet and thought out well. The small town vibes just added more soul to the feel good atmosphere of the book. I really enjoyed the way the writing style took you on the characters journey and the short chapter layout had me telling myself “just one more”!

Battling crippling anxiety is not easy. Evan gives up his job in the NHL in order to save his mental health. He returns to college and takes on two jobs. The first as an RA for the school’s hockey team. The second job is as a trainer for the girls gymnastics team.
On day one on campus, he meets Callie, a gymnast, and is intrigued by her. They actually have met before but he doesn’t remember. Even though he plans on staying single and focusing on his mental health, he cannot stay away from her.
Opinion
I love this series. Hockey romances speak to me and this one is a fabulous read. Add in the sweet innocence of their love and this book is a solid winner. The struggles in this book are a bit different than what I’ve read before, especially Callie’s family struggles. It was quite intriguing. Altogether, the book was fabulous.

This is a heart-warming contemporary romance by an author that was new to me. From reading the blurb it seemed like the type of book I normally enjoy reading, so I decided to give this author a chance. I’m glad I took the chance as I enjoyed this book and would definitely read more of this author’s work.
Paige Lister is mesmerised by the artwork of painter Mark Richards and decides to go visit him in Montana to convince him to produce work for the gallery she works at. What she wasn’t prepared for was to fall for the sexy, brooding artist and his lifestyle in Montana.
Mark Richards is determined that painting is just a hobby while he works on his ranch rescuing horses. He wasn’t prepared for the whirlwind that is Paige Lister.
I really enjoyed reading Paige and Mark’s story. It’s pretty much lust at first sight for both of them but how could they possibly make a relationship worth with the very different lives they both lead? This makes for a very interesting story that had me wanting to keep turning the page and reading more. The characters are very well written and the story flows well keeping you engaged throughout.
I’d definitely recommend this book.
