This book may cause triggers!
CJ brings us a dark second chance romance in this the first book in this new series. With lots of feels, tension, and maybe a few tears there is also lots of passion and chemistry.
A funeral brings Deacon and Olivia home to say goodbye to their friend.
He is not the same man he was when he left, no he was bitter and angry because she broke his heart. What he thought would be a quick visit turns into much more than he bargained for.
She was heartbroken when he left her without a word. Now saying goodbye brings things from the past back to light.
Lies and secrets, family falling apart, pain and drama, assault, sexual assault, and someone from the past changes all that.

Deacon (Saints vs Sinners Series Book 1)Deacon by CJ Warrant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an action packed romance that you are not going to want to miss. Deacon is such a mush when it comes to Olivia. He acts all big and tough but the second he lays eyes on her again after all this time, he just instantly starts to melt inside. Olivia barely holds herself together when he’s around because she is still just as in love with him as ever. There is so much action, danger, and pure heat and romance in this book that it pulled me right in from the very first page and I just couldn’t set it down until I was done. There are so many obstacles standing in the way of Deacon and Olivia being happy and they both go through some terrifying things, but it might be just the wake up call they need to admit their true feelings for one another. This is such a good book that I can’t wait to read the next one in this series!

Reunion in the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #4)Reunion in the Outback by Nicole Flockton

This is the fourth book in this series and it was just as good as the first. This is Yolanda and Michael’s story. These two got married right after high school and moved away to the city to start their lives together, but as time has gone on and a tragedy happened they find themselves out of sync. Yolanda goes home to Bunya Junction with her daughter to decide what she’s going to do about her marriage. Michael feels like his whole life is falling apart after his wife leaves. Both of them are holding onto a secret, will their secrets tear them apart? This is a wonderful romantic read. I have read many books by this author and I am never disappointed. I recommend this book.

Shamrock & Clover: Field’s Apart by C.A. King – Review by Amy Brennan

Shamrock & Clover: Fields ApartShamrock & Clover: Fields Apart by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

For a short and sweet romance with hints of tragedy and common ground, this lovely little read really hit the mark for me. Not long ago, I lost my Nana, and though she didn’t raise me, we called each other our own Kindred Spirit, and the connection that Clover felt to her Grandmother was very much how I felt with her. This really allowed me to connect with the character, and the state of mind she would be in after having to say goodbye. Support is so very important to make it through the rough times, and the author seems to know how to allow the reader to feel the grief, the helplessness, and in turn, the sunshine that emanates from others wanting to help.

Shamrock, having had a massive loss and having that loss make it difficult to move forward in his own life, needs help getting back on solid footing. They say that there is always a reason that someone comes into your life, and well, if you read this sweet romance, you’ll discover why these two have met. I read this in one sitting, and loved the feisty friends/co-workers of Clovers, and the way that the author brings the emotions out on every page. I would gladly read this again, along with anything else that this author releases. Highly recommend!

Deacon (Saints vs Sinners Series Book 1)Deacon by CJ Warrant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this second chance romance. It was really well written and the characters were well developed and relatable. This book has quite a few twists in it that along the way you are never sure if our couple would get back together or not which made the story more of an interesting read.
Deacon left the small town to become a famous Moto GP rider but when he friend passes away he returns to his home town. The last person he wants to bump into his the girl who broke his heart Olivia.

Olivia is now a successful woman in her own right. The last thing she wants or needs is her ex love to return especially after he broke her heart all those years ago. However there is no denying the passion between them.
The question is can they both forgive the past so they can have a future? And will they be able to overcome the obstacles placed in their path along the way. Can Deacon win Olivia over or will it be to little too late?

This is book one of the series. It’s also the first book I’ve read by this author but boy did I get sucked in.

Deacon is back home in his small town and sure enough so is the girl that broke his heart. Deacon and Olivia, after some tension, have a second chance? Can they move passed the hurt or is it too much to get over?

This book has a little of everything. Racing, motorcycles, love – what’s there not to love? The characters are great and so well written. I was so immersed in the story!

Deacon (Saints vs Sinners Series Book 1)Deacon by CJ Warrant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This one is a powerful book that makes you come to terms with what the characters experience in your own life. It definitely brought tears to my eyes at multiple points in the book and yet I couldn’t stop reading. I just needed to know what happened next.

Deacon who left his home town and never looked back to pursue his career in racing returns home battered and a little more broken than when he left. He returns to attend his best friend’s funeral and figure out just what to do with his life and that of his mother who has been diagnosed with alzheimers. As if that is not enough on his plate he runs into the one person who turned him inside out in the past and left a bitter, angry taste in his mouth, Olivia. Meanwhile, Olivia has found herself a new life after the heartbreak of the past. She is a nurse in Nashville, with a pediatric doctor as her boyfriend, all the pieces seem to be falling in line for her. That is until a trip home for a friend’s funeral makes her confront the one person who broke her heart and left without a word. The longer Deacon and Olivia spend in their home town of Alama the more problems come their way. With so many trials and tribulations will they ever find their happily ever after? Can the past really be forgiven or is there too much water under the bridge to move past?

There was a lot of action packed into this book and plenty of cliff hangers. Most of which were answered in the end but there are several openings for the author to close in books about the other characters. There are also highly difficult topics confronted in this book like physical assault, sexual assault, and dealing with a loved one that has alzheimers. Most people have faced these topics as they happened to them or someone they loved and the author does a great job with showing care in how they are presented while remaining true to the characters’ experience. This was a fantastic novel and I will wait with bated breath to see about following future release dates from this author in this series. After all, I would like to close the rest of the cliffhangers left open in this book!

A lucky in love five-star read. This was short and sweet and packed full of drama and fun, Clover is really something, she just made me smile at every turn, her optimism, her situation, there was just something that made me warm to her at every turn. Patrick, well he took me a little while to warm to, but I got there in the end. This was a great story and it comes from a great author.

Yolanda and Michael had been high school sweethearts and had a storybook love. Lately, however, they had been drifting apart. Having eloped and leaving their quaint hometown when they were just out of school, Yolanda stayed home with their daughter and made makeup tutorials on YouTube. Michael was a successful executive chef, working his way up from dishwasher. So, when Yolanda suddenly announces she’s leaving and taking their daughter, Michael is blindsided. How could he convince his wife that they still belonged together? I thoroughly enjoyed this latest book in the series. I was drawn into the story and loved every minute of it.

This is Yolanda and Michaels long awaited story. Michael and Yolanda married right out of high school. They had the perfect marriage until… Losing the baby and almost Yolanda has brought a strain to this family. Yolanda goes back home to Bunya Junction to be with her family and work things out. While Michael is needed at his demanding job, he soon finds he wants his family back. But will they two come together and work through their secrets? Communication is what this couple needs to get back on track. This being the 4th book in this series and having met Yolanda’s siblings. I was overjoyed when it finally came. As usual this author did not disappoint. All of your emotions will be on high alert. This quick page turner will keep you reading until the end. Family is the most important highlight and the characters bring it all home. I highly recommend you read this series in order. As some valuable information is within this series.

This book was a very cute, honest, slightly awkward out of this world love story that had an adorable ending.
Layla is a “Blerdy” girl – a black, nerdy girl. She absolutely loves everything nerdy. Craft a costume? Yo got it. Write fanfic? You go it! Meet your favorite idol? You. Got. It!

Layla was too excited to get the opportunity to meet her idol, Vic Williams. A couple of awkward moments later and Layla is heading back home, lots of funny stories in her pocket about meeting her idol.

However, Vic wasn’t letting it end there. Vic reached out to Layla on social media and a few messages turned into a long distance relationship and Layla’s happily ever after!

This is a romance for every everyone full of giggles, all those great, awkward first moments and the moment that every nerdy girl wishes for.

Seductively Yours (Titans Of Manhattan Book 3)

I had been looking forward to this book as soon as I saw which Titan was going to fall next and it did not disappoint.

Though Mason wasn’t a feature character in the first books there was something about him that intrigued me.  I just knew when he finally fell he was going to do it hard and fast.

Rhyann ended up bring so different from the girl we were introduced to in the beginning.  I loved watching her evolve throughout the story and discovering who she was.

This  book was hard to put down for me.  I found myself thinking about the story even when I wasn’t reading it and after I was done.

This book and series is worth the time.

I enjoyed how the author’s writing style and attention to details made the story realistic. The characters are relatable and have great chemistry. They made the story pop which made it easy to read. This is a story about Deacon and Olivia. They have a past together but now fate is giving them a second chance. Is Olivia too hurt to forgive Deacon? You don’t want to miss what happens with these two. I enjoyed their growth as well as the plot growth throughout that made it entertaining. Reunion in the Outback is a story about Yolanda and Michael Watson. They are high school sweethearts that leave Bunya Junction to have a better future and leave their not-so-good past behind. I thought that this book has likable characters that are well written. There is a lot of care and thought put into this story that I greatly appreciate. The characters can be infuriating because they make everything harder than it needs to be by keeping secrets and not communicating. Without this, the conflict would have been resolved within a few chapters. If you are a person that likes angst, then you will probably enjoy this story a lot. Overall, it’s a pretty good read.

Seductively Yours (Titans Of Manhattan, #3)Seductively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a wonderful adult book that is part of a series, yet stands alone Beautifully. We have the strong yet vulnerable Rhyann Ward as our female lead and Mason Steele or Manly male lead. Both of these characters have traumatic incidences in the story, yet these aren’t defining story points that define our characters. It’s refreshing that our female lead who ends up as an Exotic dancer, doesn’t do so because she’s jaded from some character defining trauma or tragedy.
While the sex scenes are steamy, the story is still solid and the love story aspect is solid without falling into the trap of being to soap opera sappy or pathetic. This is a solid well-rounded story that stands on its own while leaving you wanting to read about the rest of the Titans of Manhattan.
I look forward to delving into this Manhattan that Anise Storm has spun and seeing what comes next.

This time it is Nightclub tycoon Mason, a playboy of epic proportions who is a love him and leave him kind of guy. When he has a chance encounter with Rhyann, a small-town Kansas girl who has come to the city to study dance, he struggles to process the feelings that she brings. This book took me by surprise. I’ve found many romance books, especially those in a series, are heavy on romance but can be very predictable and be lacking in character development. This author was able to do it all. The romance was hot and heavy and I loved the characters. The main character was strong and easy to like. The plot didn’t feel repetitive and even had some twists. I plan to read the rest Anise Storm’s books.

I mostly enjoyed this book. It is a fast burn, insta-lust and connection story. Rhyann is a Kansas girl who moves to New York to pursue her dream of being a dancer on scholarship. Mason is a rich club owner and one of the “Titans” of New York. They meet when Rhyann visits his club. They instantly connect but don’t exchange names when they hook up. The twist occurs when Rhyann unknowingly applies for a job at Mason’s club. Mason has a strict ‘no sleeping with the employees’ rule but Rhyann needs the money, so they put a stop to any relationship… or try to anyway.

This is a sexy, read and the characters have serious chemistry. I didn’t understand why Rhyann’s roommate decides to work at the club but that doesn’t detract from the story. The one thing that I had a hard time with was the on-page assault without a trigger warning. The character is not raped, but it was still traumatic and could be an issue for some people to read. I can understand why the author made the choice she did for the story but thought people would want to know about it before reading this book.

This book absolutely took my breath away. Rhyann is new to New York, ready to make her dream of being a professional dancer come true. She quickly learns how different New York is from her hometown in Kansas. In an attempt to break the goody two shoes mold her friend has cast her in, she gives in to Mason the first time that they meet. They have no idea who the other is but the attraction is intense and undeniable! Soon she’s working for him and they just can’t seem to stay away even though Mason does his best to remain professional. They are both quickly developing feelings when something horrible happens that has Rhyann running back to Kansas. Is there anyway that they can get past the barriers being thrown in their path and make this work? This is a book that you are definitely not going to miss! There’s heat and swoon worthy moments, along with plenty of action and drama along the way to the most amazing ending ever! I can’t wait to read the next installment in the Titans series.

I completely loved this book! This is the 3rd book of the Titans of Manhattan series… I loved all the books but this book is my favorite … the story of Mason and Rhyann.

Rhyann is from a small town in Kansas but has big dreams. She moves to New York to pursue her goals of being a dancer….and learns quickly how life in New York is different than at her hometown. Rhyann needs a job for some money while attending school ….

Mason, strong, driven business owner and a “Titan”. He does not like mixing business with pleasure .. but just one problem…. He hires Rhyann for his club …. He is protective but keeps her at arms length.

Will Mason be able to forgive his past and let his guard down to fall for Rhyann…..this story just gives you all kinds of feels… love, seduction and lots of heart palpitating sizzling moments. I loved this story of Mason and Rhyann and looking forward to the next book in the series!!

Her new roommate wants her to let loose and have some fun. So they go out dancing at a club. While there, Rhyann meets a gorgeous man and the two of them have some serious fun. Allison, her roommate tells her they to get some jobs and Rhyann agrees but didn’t realize the job was stripping. Who turns out to be her boss, but none other than Mason, her mystery man she had all that fun with. Will her school suffer with her new job or will she be able to juggle them well. What happens when Mason and Rhyann find out who each other are? I enjoyed reading and I can’t wait to read other in this Titans series.

Enchanting. Exquisite. Elegant.

28 year old Layla has found herself in a dream. She stumbled into comic-con excited to get an autograph from none other than Vic, author of her favorite comic book. A few weeks later she is in a romance that leaves readers hungry for me.

This book was everything I hope for out of a love story. It was cute, spicy, and fun. Even the darker parts of this book were handled with so much love and care. I found myself hooked on every word. Layla is someone I wish I could be friends with! She’s nerdy, loves manga, enjoys a teenager diet, and has such a true heart. Sometimes these types of stories can make a character feel 2-D. However I felt as though I could easily be friends with Vic and Layla. I even found myself whispering advice.

I absolutely recommend this book to anyone ready to get lost in a nerdy fairy tale!

A wonderful ending to series that captured my heart. This book was about Yolanda, the youngest of 4 siblings, and her husband Michael. Yolanda and Michael left Bunya Junction right after high school. As with many families, things happen and conversations change as life changes. After a scary incident fear has caused the two of them to stop communicating like they used to. When she can’t take it anymore, Yolanda runs away back to Bunya Junction and her family.

I loved the characters in the series. It really made it special to see the family and couples come together. Each book had situations and people that I could relate to and feel the love shared between the couples as the siblings each find their way to love. This last book was emotionally hard to read at times but it is definitely a great ending to this series.

Unchecked: A Steamy Love Triangle Love Romance by Carina Alyce – Review by Katie Stapleton

Unchecked (MetroGen Downtown Kiss and Tell, #1)Unchecked by Carina Alyce
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is as intelligent as it is sexy! Dr. Stella Magi is a fantastic leading character who is bold, honest, and claims her narrative. She is a strong woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. The action grips you right away with a variety of supporting characters and medical knowledge that deepen your connection to the MetroGen world. The doctors in the love triangle that centers this story are unique, well penned, and nearly impossible to choose between! Unchecked is a book you just want to keep reading!
I personally loved the way Carina Alyce tied in an exciting story line with lots of steamy sex scenes. You get just enough specificity around medical procedures and relationships to know she has an in depth understanding of the way hospitals work, yet it is presented in a way that anyone could follow along and enjoy. With a surprise at the end that makes you want even more; I will definitely be seeking out other books by this author!
