It was so refreshing to read a book that not only promises a geeky main character but actually delivers. I really enjoyed reading about Layla. She was such am interesting and entertaining character. For me she is what this whole book was about. This is a new author to me and I really like the feel of the book. It really captured the nerd culture and I found myself easily engaged with it. This was a well written book that I enjoyed from start to finish.
I absolutely loved this book. From the start, I found Layla to be such a relatable character, from the crafty, clumsy, nerd who’s mostly an introvert, to her kind spirit and sassy but loving friendship with her best friend, Alex.
Layla is an artist who pays the bills as a real estate assistant. She creates a cosplay of her favorite comic book character and shows up to a meet and greet at a comic convention to get the autograph of the writer from the series. Fumbling her way through the meet and greet, she’s on cloud nine after Vic, the writer, compliments her costume and asks to take a photo with her. The two end up running into each other again, and after she goes home, they end up chatting online and forming a friendship.
While Layla works to break out into the industry through her art, Vic faces some challenges in his own career that threatens to end their budding romantic relationship before it fully develops.
The book covers a lot of serious topics along the way: long distance relationships, workplace harassment, light touches on racism and LGBT dating, women in the geek universe and their discrimination, and seedy behavior from men in power in the entertainment industry toward those holding lower status or clout. I really appreciated seeing that addressed, even while keeping the story mostly light and fun to read.
I fully appreciate a strong female lead who isn’t dependent upon a man to come and rescue her, and the author did a great job of offering up a story that delivers the type of heroine who can take care of herself while keeping the reader fully engaged. I’m really looking forward to reading more by this author.
Sweet, second chance romance This book is a clean Christian romance. I found the story stalled a bit in places where Kayden and Liam kept being hung up on events from the past. The back and forth was a bit overdone and some of the added angst seemed forced. That being said, I found the writing easy to read and the overall message sweet. This is a good choice for an afternoon escape read.

I have read a few books from this author and every time I read her books she keeps me on my toes. This is a perfect book to read for St. Patrick’s Day. I love a good short romance but this story exceeded all my expectations. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.
Clover has never had any type of luck when it comes to men. She is out one night and feels something that she has never felt before. Clover meets Shamrock and she knows he could break her heart. She gets to know him and she can’t help but to have a connection to him. Will Clover find her lucky man or will her luck be bad once again? Review by @heatherbass
This book is the perfect example of not judging someone based on outward appearances. Shamrock seems to be living it up and enjoying every second of being single. Deep down inside though he’s starting to yearn for more. Clover has had terrible luck with men but when she bumps into Patrick she feels how different and how right things feel with him. He realizes that maybe he just hadn’t met the right woman to make him want to settle down until her. They are both going to have to face their demons head on if they want to make their relationship work. This is such a sweet book that has some great laugh out loud moments and the best, sweetest ending. You definitely won’t want to miss this one.

This is such a sweet story. High school sweethearts break up in high school, and are unexpectedly reunited 15 years later. The author gives readers glimpses from the perspectives of both our lovebirds. It is interesting to watch the personal growth that has taken place through the intervening years. I found myself rooting for the characters to find their way back to one another, yet I also would have understood if they hadn’t been able to do so.

This is a sweet story involving a young woman who reunites with her high school sweetheart who broke her heart several years later. It’s a story of redemption that shows a person can change if they want to. This story is a clean romance and address the issue of forgiveness and moving on from a deep hurt. The fmc does get a little frustrating with her indecisiveness at times but when you stop and ask yourself how you would feel you can relate to her. It was good to see the hea lose his temper at times as well and not just be a doormat through the entire book!

I really enjoyed this cosplay romance that just pulled me in right from the beginning and never let go until the end. This was a new author to me and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but when I saw the cover and some reviews I knew this was something I couldn’t miss the chance to read. I am glad I one-clicked on a rainy and dreary day because this was exactly what I needed. I felt as if I was right there with the characters as they experienced what was going on, sometimes as if I was cosplaying myself. It was just the right amount of steam and love story to balance the geeky nerd parts that I also wanted so much but can sometimes overwhelm the story. I can’t wait to see what else is available from this author and what may come next.
This is such a sweet and clean romance that is all about the characters. The focus was all on them and their growth. It was a lovely second chance story and it was nice to see how they developed. It is quite a quick read but is definitely an enjoyable one. I found myself invested in the characters and where the story was going. It is a little more tame than I would usually go for in terms of the writing style however I still found myself enjoying the overall story.

This is a well written, cute romance. Although short, it was quite entertaining. Clover is a wonderful girl who unfortunately because of circumstances, is left alone in the world. Besides her name, she is not very lucky. She is looking for love but so far has not found her four leaf clover. Shamrock is the last single man amongst his friends. If reputations are true, he will forever be a gigolo. The two cross paths in an unusual way which leaves quite an impression on him. Can Clover ignore his past so she can have her happily ever after? This is a quick, delightful story that I highly recommend.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. I will say it’s the first book like it that I’ve read. Shamrock and Clover may be lucky charms but they are also human.
Clover is a human who wants to find love. When Shamrock shows up she starts falling. Then his past keeps being thrown in her face. Can she forget his past? The quote I chose for Clover is: “How could I ever walk into a room with him? I’d spend the whole time wondering if the women staring at us had already slept with him.”
Shamrock wants love but he doesn’t know how to do it. When life brings him Clover he wants her for good. He can’t find a clover for Clover. The quote I chose for Shamrock is: “Change. In the future. That’s it! You’re a genius. I have to show her the future. Let’s go. You’re driving.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Have you ever had that yearning for a long lost love? Liam has pined after Kayden for years, but he realizes that he royally screwed up in high school. Kayden is now a Marriage and Family Therapist and is doing a radio show that is heard by Liam. Next thing Kayden knows, Liam is showing up in her office. Things start falling apart right away and one would wonder if this relationship is bound to be doomed again. Can they move away from the past and see that they’ve both changed?
I enjoyed this story of Liam and Kayden! It’s a pretty intense read at times and I found myself wanting to smack them both but the end is ultimately as it should be. I enjoyed this clean romance and a new-to-me author! I’ll be looking for more of Cherry’s books!

Personally not a huge fan of Stella. Didn’t really Care for the character itself. Who she is, what she is, how she got there. I dunno. Just not really into it. This is the first book in a steamy new contemporary romance series. I have read this author’s work before and was hoping I’d enjoy this book as much as I had enjoyed the previous one. Thankfully I did. At only 176 pages, I devoured this book in a few hours. It’s a hot and steamy romp from start to finish. I’m surprised patients get better in this hospital as the doctors, nurses, surgeon etc are too busy having sex with one another. I absolutely loved Stella as a character. She’s a recovering alcoholic and has a total IDGAF attitude to life. She’s pretty awesome. I totally forgot when reading this book that it ends on a cliffhanger and I wanted to throw my kindle out the window when I got to the end and realised that the BIG question had not been answered!!!! How could the author be so cruel? Thankfully, I really enjoyed this book and would want to read more from this series anyway as now I’ll have to as I need to know the answer. I have my own preference for who I want the answer to be but others may have a different view from me. I hope I don’t have to wait long to get the next instalment in this series.

I really enjoyed this short romance. The story gripped me from the beginning and I was invested in the characters the first time I met them. Even though this is a quick read the story felt complete and packed so you didn’t feel like you were missing out on the story. Clover is an amazing character. She is so.hard working but she never seems to catch a break until she meets Shamrock.
Shamrock has never wanted a long term relationship and never entertained it until he meets Clover. Now his past of random hook up come back to bite him and add to the confusion misunderstanding between them and the reader is left wondering if Clover and Shamrock will ever get their happy ever after. Is Clover’s luck about to change for the better? Or will Shamrocks luck run out?
This book is a sweet second chance romance. It is a short story so quite a quick read but still really enjoyable. I really liked the characters and the story of young love and teenage hormones is relatable. Kayden and Liam were school sweethearts. Kayden wants to save herself for marriage but when teenage hormones get the better of him Liam ends up breaking her heart and also losing the girl he loves.
Fast forward and things are different. Kayden is a successful therapist and has moved on with her life. That is until her past love comes back begging for forgiveness and a second chance. Both Kayden and Liam have changed and matured but will Kayden be able to let go of the past to try for a future with the man Liam has no become? Or will the pain from past betrayals stop them having an happy ever after?

When I saw that this author has come out with another book, I knew I had to read this, and I was not disappointed. Shamrock is a guy who is a player that is known to make the girls dreams come true for one night fueled with passion. Clover is a quiet girl who is a hard worker who is looking for love. This is a sweet romance story that will satisfy everyone’s need for a good wholesome love story. I could not put this story down and have found myself rereading their story over and over!

Clover does not live up to her name as being lucky, first in life and then in love. While trying to take care of her grandmother, a unfortunate brush with the law when her grandmother passes and out of the rainbow their is a pot of gold. Maybe her life is getting better.
Shamrock is the alter ego of Patrick, always wanting a good time, never wanted to be shackled to a women he has lived the playboy life style for ages, but as his friends starts marrying off life hits him and he wants what his friends have, but can he put his reputation behind him and find the one girl who can see through the shield.
This was a lovely short story full of fun and true optimism, we start in the middle of Clover’s world a bit down on her luck not really wanting to find love and happy as she is, but when other circumstances happen she realises that she needs to live life and opens her heart. As for the character of Patrick he has lived his life a little too much and going through the journey of discovery with him was him realising he wants what his friends have. It is a lovely meet-cue that brings these two brilliant characters together and the story wonderful flows right the way through.
I have read many books by this author and they have all been different but the style and the quality of the writing never falters.

While I loved being part of Kayden and Liam’s journey I must just add that Grandma Flora is one of the most entertains characters I’ve met in a long time , she’s honest and knows the power of prayer and her throbbing big toe had me in stitches 😂😂😂🤗
Once again the value and gift of forgiveness to both transgressor and “victim “ came across and really pulled at my heart strings , we all have a hurt that we rather hold on to than let go and we forget what a relief it is when we actually let go of it and we realise how it was holding us back and how much we have lost out on ….
I loved these characters and yes I got a little frustrated with Kayden but that is exactly what made her so relatable ! Thank you Liam for believing in your love ❣️

I am a big time nerd, and I do cosplay as well so of course this book spoke to me in that particulat sense. I started reading and I felt I had fan girls eyes as I read. The story was amazing, it was real as it could get, and seeing Vic and Layla, really showed how stars could align!
I personally loved Layla as a character. I really never felt so connected to a character as I did to her. She may have had same interests as me, but like myself, less than perfect. That what made her so connectable. What I enjoyed with her and Vic, it wasn’t star crossed love and was easy from day one. No. There was a lot of issues and occurrences that gave them a million reasons not try out their relationship. I found as I read, things came more clearer on their end, who they are, and who they wanted to be. There was a lot of emotions associated as well It was a really good read, I really loved this one truly!
Wonderful story, and I shall be sure reading more by this wonderful author. I loved the story and it had something fore everyone. I truly highly recommend giving this a read, it is not one to be missed!
This series keeps getting better and better, omg, I can’t get enough. I am in love with this author. A different angle of love and lust in every book. This was an emotional 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. This was a great ending to this series.
After a conversation with her husband Michael, Yolanda has decided to return to her hometown with her daughter for a break. Michael follows Yolanda, determined to work things out and get his family back where they belong. I do have to say that I had a love/hate relationship with these two. I had moments where I wanted to shake them. We also find that they both have secrets, what will happen when they come out? Can they make their marriage work?
Overall this was a great read. This story hits on several things that affect marriages everyday and shows just how difficult things can be. It was great seeing characters from the other books. This can be read as a stand alone but I suggest reading from book one so you can meet the rest of the family. Laylna is a science nerd whom makes cosplays costumes. She’s a crush on Vic whom is not the same as how he portrays himself to the world. Meeting the guy of her dreams was not what she expected they relationship has it good moments.
This book touched on alot of people insecurity in the world today because of the way society is conformed.
Full transparency- it took me until I was halfway through this book before I really loved it. Once pieces started to fall into place and both characters met, the storyline really picked up for me. I have to say, I love that while this is a casual, romantic comedy, it was a storyline that I felt had a lot of meaning. I loved Shamrock and appreciated the growth of his character in just a short time. There was one point in the book where I literally gasped- drawing attention from my whole family. I would definitely recommend this book to others and I LOVE the cover!
I Dream of Cassie: A Student-Teacher Age-Gap Romance (Kirk University) by Diana Vale
This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. I Dream of Cassie is a companion story to Professor Valentine. This book is in Diego’s point of view instead of Cassie’s.
Diego is a professor at Kirk University. He is going through a rough divorce and finds himself in a tough position. He finds one of his student’s gorgeous and knows that he can’t get involved with her. The quote I chose for Diego is: “Rest assured, your secret is safe with me. And the Kirk security staff, but I’m sure they don’t eyeball each and every piece of CCTV footage.”
Cassie is a student at Kirk University and finds herself falling for her professor. She isn’t exactly sure what to do because she keeps running into him. Not only that, but she also has one on one meetings with him for class. The quote I chose for Cassie is: “Oh yeah. Most people are really friendly. I mean, of course you get the odd snobby person, that’s to be expected somewhere like here. But most people I’ve met are pretty down-to-earth.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This is a sweet, clean, Christian romance novel. It’s quite a short book, so is good for a nice relaxing afternoon read. This author was new to me so I was unsure what to expect from this book. It is a second chance romance. Kayden and Liam were high school sweethearts who split up when Liam kept pushing to move their relationship on to a more intimate level which Kayden did not want. Years Later and Liam has walked into Kayden’s life again and this time wants to win her over but Kayden doesn’t want her heart broken by Liam again. Teenage Liam, I wanted to slap but I’m sure he’s just a typical horny teenager who wants a more intimate relationship. Adult Liam I really liked. He knew he’s done wrong as was willing to di anything to make things work. Kayden, I just couldn’t connect with at all. She really exasperated me on so many levels, making me struggle to enjoy this book as much as I could have. I like a second chance romance but struggled with this one. I liked the author’s writing style and the story flowed well but Kayden spoiled my enjoyment.
