I love hockey and I love steamy romances. This book brings those two things together in a wonderful story of second chances and finding the one.

Brynn Mackintosh is starting over. Brynn needs to find a place where she can be happy and escape the past. Brynn has decided to follow her dream of becoming a fine art photographer but she finds that it isn’t as easy as she thought it was going to be. On a chance, Brynn takes a job that offers to double her normal fee. At this event she meets Bridger, a man that will help change the course of Brynn’s life.

Levi Fawkes has been playing for the Astoria Bay Thunder for ten years. He is the team captain and resident man of mystery. Levi is always ready to help out with the many charities that the team funds. When a promotion between one of the charities is combined with a radio contest winner, Levi is brought face to face with the one that got away, the one he walked away from when he was 18, the one he has missed and longed for everyday since.

Can Levi explain what happened when he left? Can Brynn forgive Levi? Can the ghosts of Brynn’s past haunt her future with Levi? Is there any hope?

The cast of characters starting with Brynn, Bridger, Levi and Tia are fun and enjoyable. I can’t wait for the next book. I love the way the stories are interwoven and will be a part of each other’s stories. The author is amazing at making you feel each character’s emotion. The details in the descriptions paint vivid pictures, like the photo shoot in the shower or with the lumberjack! Jump into this series now! Don’t wait. It is going to be one helluva ride!!

This book was a great read for me no words can define otherwise. I fell in love with the first few pages, and I could not get enough. I loved the characters and how things played out. I was left by the end wanting more. The writing was perfect, and held my interest all the way to the very last page and word.

This one was impossible not to love. Sophia and Theo were two characters that had pasts, but still knew deep down they were missing something. Their chemistry was undeniable. I related to Sophia a lot cause of her past, as I have been in a similar situation. Theo was a good guy from the start, he wanted to only protect her, but I got the impressing from their time together, Sophia really rescued him.

There was a lot of build up. You got so much at a time, and you were able to take it all on. I was under this book’s spell from the start. I fell in love with this book so much. I wish it could have lasted longer. I was not ready to let Sophia and Theo go. Amazing character developments between the two of them!

Loved this book truly. I will be looking forward to reading more by this gifted author. I rally loved the book, you get hooked right from the start. You then go down the tunnel and don’t want to look back or stop till you finish. it holds you and doesn’t let go. Amazing read!

A heartfelt and steamy coming together between a fire investigator and an injured soldier. With many obstacles to overcome, Gina and Bryce, tackle them together with more time spent in lust than in conversation. Everyone seems to work as hard as they play, and the group of friends coming together would be a fun group to spend time with anywhere. This book is so touching because we know that Gina is not alone, and terrible things happen. She has a great group of friends to help her through her trials and Bryce is worth helping him figure out his stuff as well.

Sophia had escaped from her abusive boyfriend and started a new life. She was just getting her feet back under her when she received a text from “him”. Where is he? Is he close? Will she have to pick up and run again?
Theo is immediately taken with the red-haired beauty that drops her phone in front of him. As he picks it up to return it to her, she looks as if she’s seen a ghost. What has her so scared? Being a detective, this is a mystery he feels compelled to solve. This is a quick read that you will stick with until you’re finished. Very likable characters and storyline.

This book tugs at all the heartstrings. This book is impossible to put down once you open it up. Poor Gina has been through so much trauma and she deserves some happiness but she’s so terrified to take a risk. Bruce has never been one for commitment and he gets bored easily but there’s something about Gina that he just can’t resist. I really enjoyed watching the sparks fly between them as they grow closer and she begins to let him in and he does the same. There are some parts that definitely made me tear up but the ending was beyond perfect! Her sisters are great they’re so supportive and funny and now I need to go and read the other books in this story. This is definitely a romance not to be missed.

I enjoyed this romance story that has suspense added to it. This is a still a newer author for me which I enjoy her writing style as well as her attention to details that give her stories a realistic feel. This is a well written story that has twists and turns that had me turning pages fast. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the first word. The characters are not only connectable but they brought the story to life. The chemistry between them is great and keeps the story engaging. This is a fast paced story that was hard to put down and kept me wanting to know more with each page. This is a story that is full of action, danger and protecting what is yours. I enjoyed the growth of both the characters and the plot. Sofia and Theo are great strong characters that truly made the story for me. This is worth the pick up and I highly recommend it.

This book was seriously so good and I could not put it down till I was done. Gina is a badass woman who has been through hell and back through childhood all the way to the military. She came out alive but with scars that made her self conscious about herself. Now living in the same town as most of her band of sisters, she meets a man name Bryce. Once he came in, he never wanted to leave. Their romance is so sweet, serious, and passionate. Definitely a book to leave a smile on your face.

I absolutely loved Gina and Bryce’s story. It was a story about find the beauty and strength within yourself. I loved being on Gina’s journey with her as she found and felt her beauty both inside and out. Both of their characters were very well written and I loved them even though at times I wanted to scream because of their actions. The relationship she had with her best friends was also amazing and I can’t wait to read more about them.

Wow this book was such a super good read and had me on pins and needles! This book is a contemporary romance novel that surrounds Gina and Bryce. Gina was in a horrifying accident while in the military which makes her very hesitant to let anyone in. Bryce is a fire inspector who does not think he can find love until he first lays eyes on Gina. I enjoyed reading this book tremendously as the main character fights her insecurities which hits home for me as I too have the same insecurities. You will not be disappointed reading this book! I loved their ending, and it was perfectly perfect for them and was not expected!

After a roadside bomb leaves her burned, former Army Sergeant Gina Fisher takes comforter in teaching online and sewing.

But her inner peace may come to an end when arson Inspector Byrce Cambridge takes an interest in her but she shoots him down. Seeing him again the next day at the bowling alley, Gina can’t resist the connection between them.

I really enjoyed this novel and I felt that the female protagonist being the one that is scarred and a former sergeant when I usually see that as part of the male protagonist to be different and refreshing in a way.

This was definitely a love worth fighting for and worth a read.

This book is book one of the series. I absolutely loved this second chance romance!

Brynn and Levi have a past. Because of Brynn’s meddling mother, they went their separate ways. Now post divorce, Brynn’s life is a lot different than she thought it would be. After setting her dreams aside for far too long Brynn decides it’s time she do something for herself. On a whim, she wins tickets to a hockey game, never imagining coming face to face with Levi. Will Brynn and Levi be able to use this second chance to their advantage or is the past too much to bare?

I really enjoyed these characters. Brynn is resilient and I really enjoyed that about her. Her whole life changes and she just rolls with it as tough as it is. I really enjoyed her and Levi together as well. Can’t wait to read more of this series.

This book packed a lot of emotions. A lot of heavy, but humor and sweetness too. Gina worked hard to build her life up after her devastating military injury. But that hurt lingers and her insecurities bleed through this story. I wanted to scream at her to get. Her. Man. Because I absolutely loved Bryce. I loved the chemistry and connection. This wasn’t the first book I’ve read by Marianne Rice, and it won’t be the last!

What a great read! From the first page on the story moves along at a good pace and the writing is so smooth. I love that in a book! The story is filled with love, stressors, military women, distrust and a fireman. Really covers everything..oh plus there is girl besties! I enjoyed all the ups and downs and meeting all the characters. They made me laugh, wonder and have doubt a couple times. I really loved how Bryce was all googly-eyed at Gina and not deterred by her refusal. Then I could feel how happy he was when she finally agreed. I felt like fist bumping him!

Overall a wonderful story. I have not read the previous ones but the characters they produce really added to this one. I look forward to more.

Power Play is the first book in the Astoria Bay Thunder Series. This is a Second Chance Hockey Romance that once you start reading you won’t want to put down till you finish. The characters are relatable and fully developed and the authors style of writing simply amazes me. This second chance romance had my emotions all over the place . Levi is the Captain of a local Professional Hockey team and Brynn is recently divorced and trying to get her life back. These two had a summer romance years ago and now he wants to win her back, she’s the one that got away and he never stopped loving her. Can they reunite? Is it to late for them to have a relationship? The chemistry between these to wow! I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. This is definitely a great start to this series I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Emotional roller coaster to happiness
Bryce and Gina’s story. This had all the feels. The author handled sensitive issues with ease and presented a love story filled with a rawness and honesty that made it so much more relatable. Gina’s insecurities and Bryce’s fears hit close to home. A beautiful story filled with hope, some drama and a whole lotta love. This is the third book in the series, can be read as a stand alone but the characters from the previous books do appear in this book too. Looking forward to Skylar’s story.

I couldn’t put this book down! This book is amazing, it’s romantic, heart wrenching, sweet, steamy and funny all at once. Levi and Brynn were the love of each other’s lives, but a series of misunderstandings tore them apart. Ten years passed and neither could shake the other from their mind or their hearts and fate brought them back together. The chemistry between them is undeniable even when they haven’t realized that know each other, there’s that pull between them. I loved watching them discover each other again. This was a good four star read.
After divorce Brynn is starting life over with her cat and following her dream of photography.
She ends up doing a job at a very ritzy home where she meets someone who will bring her in the path of someone from her past.

She also wins a radio contest to go to the hockey game. This is where she see’s Levi and he realizes who she is and old sparks start to fly. With a twist she ends up shooting a calendar for the team at Levi’s cabin. Will this finally be the time for them to reconnect? What will happen when the truth finally comes out?

Overall this was a good read. Brynn had me LOL with her thoughts, she was quirky and down to earth. Levi was of course the hot hockey player who wanted his first love back. There are twists and turns and the secondary characters added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a fun 2nd Chance romance 1-click and get started today.

I enjoyed reading this book. The story progressed at a nice pace although the two main characters were quite frustrating with all of the miscommunicating going on. I wanted to throttle them both while i was reading. Gina is a strong willed woman who takes no flack. I think being an army Sargant that has seen action does that to people. But I’m glad Bryce tried to make things work and gets her to listen and work things out. Bryce’s character is sweet and understanding and had me drooling. It is a slow burn book and definitely has you crying out for more. This author is amazing when it comes to writing about army women. I cant wait to read more of her books!

When I first read the synopsis of this book, I was excited to read about this amazing Army sergeant who has left due injuries and turned to crafts such as quilts, and jewelry. I did not realize this was the third book in a series until after I started reading it and I am looking forward to going back and reading the first two books in order to get a little more of the back story. The story written here was detailed enough I could keep up and enjoy the book, but I feel I will love the characters even more after reading the first two books.

It was a very easy read, the story starts right from the first page and instant you are drawn in. A very light care free story that didn’t require a lot from the reader. It was a fun story with depth I was not expecting.

After their first encounter doesn’t go well because of a misunderstanding Bryce works hard to redeem himself and he quickly does, but is it ever going to be enough to win Gina’s love? She doesn’t make it easy on him from the start. Gina has things holding her back from truly opening up and allowing Bryce to simply love her. With everything she had been through and all her reservations they press on and something beautiful emerges from the pain she is hiding. I love that this book doesn’t shy away from talking about the hard things like PTSD, there are so many people living with it especially our men and women who have served our country.

Even though this book was a part of a series, it was written in a manner that it was a stand alone! In my opinion, this helps in making it such a good read! It was a light hearted romance with a young single life vibe! I really enjoyed how Gina’s history reflect what some of our veterans have experienced, this is what makes it easy to relate to. Gina has trust issues, rightfully so, therefore it takes a lot for her to open up to Bryce. As far Bryce, he seems like he can’t get enough of Gina or learning about her past. Can Bryce get in Gina’s heart and learn of her dark issues that cause her not to trust? Can Bryce show Gina a world she never knew existed? I suggest reading this wonderfully written book to find out!
