The Hazed Series Boxed Set
By Brittany Tarkington
5 out of 5 stars

I enjoyed reading the stories in this boxed set. They take you on a journey full of ups and downs just like a rollercoaster. There are raw emotions and situations that I found true to life. The characters face issues that have them wondering where their lives and relationship will take them. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Taylor Thompson and Hayze Clark. Taylor is a young woman who has just started college. She wants out from under the overprotective and overbearing nature of a family member. She has not had a lot of experience with life or relationships. Then she meets Hayze. Hayze is a young man who can have any woman that he wants. He also has secrets. He has found himself attracted to Taylor. Will a relationship between Taylor and Hayze work? Will secrets be revealed? What does the future hold for Taylor and Hayze? Read the stories in this box set. There are other characters that are introduced and interact with Taylor and Hayze. Some of them are friends and family and some of them are only out for themselves. Many of the characters in this book are likable. These stories have both conflict and romance. Don’t miss out on a set of stories that will hook you in and not let you go until the final page. I highly recommend reading them.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a good series! From the onset, I anticipated liking the set but was truly unprepared for the intensity of this opposites attract storyline. Tarkington does a great job developing relatable, meaningful characters that resonate deeply and touch the reader emotionally. I felt connected to the main characters throughout the storyline. I really enjoyed reading these books and look forward to reading more from this author.

The Hazed Series Boxed Set by Brittany Tarkington – Review by Angela Hayes

The Hazed Series Box SetThe Hazed Series Box Set by Brittany Tarkington
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Hazed Series Box Set contains Books 1-3 in the Hazed series Brittany Tarkington. This is a college romance- of opposites attract, good girl falls for bad boy- with secrets, lies, obsession, and addiction all playing a part in this dramatic story.
We meet Taylor Thompson who thought college would bring her the freedom she desperately wanted, getting her away from her incredibly strict father and the small town she called home. Getting a job as a waitress, introduces her to Hayze Clark, the sexy, tattooed, bad-boy bartender- who turns her world upside down. I won’t go into too much detail, as I don’t want to spoil it for you. But what follows was hard to read at times- in a nutshell it’s a little dark, intense, and confronting.
The characters are really well developed, but I just couldn’t connect with them like I wanted to, and I really can’t pinpoint why that was. The story (books) did hold my attention though, and I definitely don’t regret reading them.

The Hazed Series Box Set contains:
Hazed (Book #1)
Unfazed (Book #2)
Ruined (Book #3)

I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Tarkington does next.

Thank you, Ms. Tarkington!

Hi! I’m Brittany! I’m from East Texas where I live with my husband, son, and two dogs. I have a degree in Criminal Justice, and I used to work as a legal assistant for a criminal defense firm. These days I’m a writer and co-owner of Magnolia and Pine. I have a love-hate relationship with both CrossFit and wine. I have my days and nights mixed up, and I spend most of my time doing everything I can to avoid being productive.

I’ve always had a crazy imagination and I love writing. So, I started writing Forever Careless at the age of 21 to see if I had it in me. It was too much fluff for me, however my friends loved it. So, I wrote another; this time I pushed to boundaries of fluff.

One day, while in a very bad mood, I thought of a story without a happy ending. One with real problems and real people. A story that was very close to my heart. It nagged me constantly. Months later, I sat down and started Hazed. At first, he was going to be apart of the Forever Series. Just come in and wreck their lives. Instead, I went another route. Only weeks later, Hazed was finished. I was obsessed with it.

It took me over a year to finish my first novel and weeks to finish this one. I knew what that meant. I liked to write about bad people who do bad things. I like to get inside their minds and feel their crazy. So, if you’re looking for hearts and flowers, you won’t find them here. My stories are real and they aren’t pretty.

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts Book Two) by KG Fletcher – Review by Robin Rankin

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts #2)Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stars Fall From the Sky is the second book in the Reigning Hearts series by K.G. Fletcher.

I fell in love with this story from the beginning. I cried on and off all the way through and was so emotional after finishing it in had to give myself some time to process the story and my emotions.

Ginger’s grief slayed me. I cried for her so many times even when I wasn’t reading the book which doesn’t happen to me very often.

Jonathan was charming, sweet and overall an amazing man. He was more important in Ginger’s working past her grief than either one of them realized.

There is only one thing I would have changed about the story, but since it could give something away I’m not going to into detail. It doesn’t take away from the book at all, maybe more of a preference for me.

This is an amazing book about a woman and a man having a second chance in love and worth every year I shed and second I spent reading it.

Love & Ghosts (Crescent City Ghost Tours Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen
Stars-5

I think that this story had so many good things about it! There were so many different kinds of moments in this book: happiness, sadness, love, funny, and heartbreak. It was not an easy road for Emily and Sean, but it was great to read about. They each had things from their past to overcome. I also loved Sydney and Trish. They are awesome friends! This is the first book in this series, and I cannot wait to read what happens next.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love & Ghosts (Crescent City Ghost Tours Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen was a gripping read. I would give this story a five out of five stars. I love a good paranormal romance and this one had me from the beginning. I loved the characters, Emily and Sean came alive for me. The stories and the supernatural elements of New Orleans alone always manage to pull me in. I enjoyed the pacing, it is always something I look for but specifically in paranormal reads where sometimes certain elements can be drawn out.

Love & Ghosts is the first book in Carrie Pulkinen’s paranormal Crescent City Ghost Tours’ series. She takes us back to the lore of New Orleans so if you love all things NOLA then this book is for sure for you! It is my first read by this writer and I know that I will gladly follow her down the Crescent City Ghosts Tours for new adventures!
Love & Ghosts gives us Emily who has just moved to New Orleans after the death of her sister and to get away from her cheating boyfriend and oh, she does not believe in ghosts, AND Sean who has lived all his life in New Orleans and is struggling after the death of his wife and he is soo into all things ghost no doubts whatsoever! The writer weaves a mesmerizing story that ticks all your boxes, combines legends and ghost stories with her observations about NOLA neighbourhoods and architecture and I promise you will not be able to put the book down until you get to the end!

Love & Ghosts (Crescent City Ghost Tours Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen. This story is probably my idea of the perfect mix of all things I love some suspense and mystery, romance and a paranormal adventure with amazing characters. Emily and Sean had me completely glued to my chair from beginning to end, I just couldn’t put it down. The plot is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m a fan of the writers smooth and detailed storytelling. If you like a story that comes alive right before your eyes I definitely suggest this one because this author does a wonderful job of writing a story that catches even the smallest details. I can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. Five big stars and I highly recommend this story!

Courage of Us (Code of Honor Book 1) by Brooke May

5 +++++ Stars

I loved this book so so much, this is only my second read by this author and that has to change because I absolutely love her writing style and her creative storylines.

Patience is probably one of my favorite characters ever..I want to be her friend and hang out with all her friends as well. I truly felt like I was inside this book while reading. I loved the parents and Aunt Satin cracked me up. I wanted to slap Duke upside the head, I was so mad at him for a good part of this book, he did finally win me over and I was able to forgive him, took me a bit longer than it did Patience, I wanted to slap her as well for not making him grovel a bit more.

This story had me hooked from page one and I seriously had problems putting it down until I finished. I loved all the interaction and I felt almost every emotion while reading, I smiled a lot, but it also made me seriously sad for everything Patience went through.

I hope there is more to come from this town and all these characters. I would love for all the guys to come home and have more interaction with the whole group…

Highly recommend this book!!!

Courage of Us (Code of Honor Book 1) by Brooke May – Review by Cassi Rogers

Courage of UsCourage of Us by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Courage of Us by Brooke May is the first installment in the Code of Honor series. It is a precious military novel that I couldn’t put down after I picked up. The plot of the story was highly entertaining and quickly grabbed my attention. The characters were very developed and thought out very well. Patience and Duke were best friends from the time they were in diapers. After graduation Duke leaves and joins the Marines. Patience moves on with her life and falls into a terrible marriage that she cannot wait to get out of. Both Duke and Patience have been through so much in all their time apart and after he gets medically discharged and comes back home, the 2 reconnect. I was very unhappy with the way Duke left Patience, and it seemed like he was forgiven too easy. However I can see why the forgiveness was given over so easily as Patience has secrets of her own, that she also wants to be forgiven for. It was a pleasant read getting to watch the 2 of them rekindle their connection and build a foundation of moving on with their lives.

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts Book Two) by KG Fletcher – Review by Maura Harper

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts #2)Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

STARS FALL FROM THE SKY is the second book in the “Reigning Hearts” series but can be read as a stand-alone.

If I may make a suggestion before I begin this review, read with a box of tissues handy. Emotions abound in parts of this moving story.

As with other books by this author, the story has a terrific flow from beginning to end, the characters are well developed, little drama (besides the obvious) and some swoon worthy scenes for sure. This is one of those books that can be read in one sitting and a feeling of contentment should be felt after THE END.

This is a visually written story which, at times, was breathtakingly painful. I can only image how hard it is to write an emotional tale and think this author handled the intricacies well.

I would absolutely recommend this book and this author.

Courage of Us by Brooke May is the first book in the Code of Honor series. This book is a fantastic read that really draws you, as the reader, into its pages. The author immediately builds the connection between you and the characters. I knew right from the word go that I wanted Patience and Duke to find their happy ever after.
The story was well paced too. The author gradually developed the story and the emotions within it. You could feel Patience’s pain on each page. This was a brilliant start to a new series and another great book by this author.

The story Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee is a contemporary romance book. Once I started, I found that it pulled me in, and I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. The book had my emotions going up and down the entire time that I was reading it. It is well-written, and it made me feel like I was right there with the characters. I loved reading about Astrid and Seth. Astrid is a strong, independent, intelligent, and beautiful woman. She is a respected music journalist. That is how she meets Seth. Seth is a man who loves music, be it either singing or writing. He is also a man that was asked by Downbeat to play with them. He then meets Astrid. Both of them feel a pull towards each other. Their relationship starts off as a casual one. Will they find that their feelings for each other are starting to grow stronger? What does the future hold for Astrid and Seth? What would happen if Seth starts moving towards stardom? Read this book to find out. I enjoyed the bantering back and forth between many of the characters. Many of them are friends and they have a good time together. I grew to care about Astrid and Seth with every chapter that I read and wanted them to be happy. Don’t miss out on an amazing story with wonderful characters. I highly recommend reading it.

This is an amazing story to read. It pulled me in right from the beginning and I found that I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. The book had my emotions going up and down as I read about the characters and the situations that they face. The story has heartwarming moments and also moments that are hard for the characters to think about. I loved reading about Patience and Duke. I grew to care about them with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to be happy. The book also has some very romantic scenes. The story has additional characters that are introduced, and I enjoyed reading about the interactions between them and Patience and Duke. The story has the characters in situations that they must cope with. It had me thinking about what I would do if in the same situation. I found myself thinking about the story even after I had finished it. Don’t miss out on an awesome book that has amazing characters. I highly recommend reading it.

This story was an awesome one! It sucked me in from the very first page and I devoured it. It was well written and the main characters were relatable and I liked them alot. This story is all about second chances and finding yourself along the way. Patience and Duke are the MC’s and the chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. Patience is a little lost in life, and she is set on changing her life around and taking control. Duke left her lost and alone when he joined the Marines, but not that hes out will he want that second chance at love again with the girl he left so long ago? Go get this book! Their story is a must read and I would recommend it to anyone that loves when the characters get their second chances!
Happy Reading!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee is a definite read for musicians, music lovers, and rock groupies. Some might say that the author takes her time before getting into the action between the main characters. Others may say she is passionate about the world-building and introducing the characters before trying to build the chemistry. I would compare it to a good ballad – it slowly builds the scene before building the tempo. Regardless of whether you consider the details monotonous or interesting, once the plot starts deepening, it’ll be difficult to put the book down. It’s a wonderful story of overcoming the scars of the past and letting love heal.

Hennessey on the RocksHennessey on the Rocks by Monica DeSimone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hennessey On the Rocks is an engrossing and emotive read by the talented Monica DeSimone. This second chance romance had all the right ingredients needed to keep me hooked. From the interesting and endearing characters, to the wonderful story- full of drama, angst, secrets, discovery, emotion, romance, and humour- I was smitten right from the start.
Charlie and Jonathan were really great characters- enticing me into their story as everything unfolded, and even though they frustrated me at times, I was still cheering them on the whole way through. But it was a cute little 3 year-old who stole the whole show for me. She wasn’t just adorable- she was truly wise beyond her years. The banter and antics were funny and at times really heart-warming. This story wouldn’t have had the same impact without the addition of Abi, or Jace, that’s for sure.
I love the attention to detail, and the wonderfully descriptive scene setting Ms. DeSimone is so good at, and is superbly showcased here. It was so easy to visualize everything, right down to ‘hearing’ their ‘voices’- especially Abie’s cute 3 year-old way of saying things. There were quite a few memorable moments that makes this book one of my favourites of hers. And I can’t wait to try out the recipes from at the end of the book. Snicker-doodles….YUM!
But I really recommend having a box of tissues close at hand while reading, because this story is going to stir your emotions quite thoroughly!
I wonder what Ms. DeSimone has in store for us next?

Thank you, Monica DeSimone!

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee a four-star read that will be music to your ears. This is my first story by this author, and I can’t wait to read more, there is promise to the writing that will whisk you away. Astrid was complex and intriguing, she has lived a life and got the t-shirt (a band one maybe but still, they are the best). The natural flow of the novel gave great pace and didn’t feel rushed or like it dragged, the pacing was well done. The balance of Seth and Astrid again was well done and made me smile. This is a light story with great heart, but there were also serious moments that challenge you. Overall a great story.

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts #2)Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stars Fall From the Sky is the 2nd book in the Reigning Hearts series by K.G. Fletcher. While it does follow Run to the Sea, it could be a stand alone book. The characters overlap, but this is a full story, with enough detail that you would still enjoy it. It is a beautiful story of second chances and finding love again after loss. The story follows Ginger McCormick after the loss of her high school sweetheart husband. If it weren’t for her newborn daughter, she probably wouldn’t even get out of bed in the morning. She slowly finds her way out of grief, and back into living her life. Much from the help of Jonathan Walden, the town doctor. He too is grieving the loss of his wife earlier in the year. They lean on each other to cope and mend their broken hearts. They hit it off straight away, and developed a quick friendship. But it seemed fate kept bringing them together. Perhaps each other are just what they need to move on and love again. Highly recommend this story. It was really sweet and I didn’t want to put it down. There is a shocker toward the end, but without giving it away, I’ll just say, I did NOT see that one coming!

Courage of Us is the first book in the code of Honor series by Brooke May. I have read a few of Ms. May’s books now and love the way she brings her characters to life, and how easily she is able to get her readers invested in both the story and the characters. Her characters are so realistic and entirely believable. It’s like I have known them for years, instead of only the few hours I was immersed in their story. I love Ms. May’s emotive and inviting style and the way she is able to make me ‘feel’ everything her characters have, and are, going through. I really felt for Patience and Duke and was rooting for them the whole way through. I really wanted them to find their HEA, together.
This is a wonderful second chance contemporary military romance, with emotion, pain, struggles, chemistry, drama, realism, courage, and more.
Ms. May delivers on all the promise held in the blurb, and then some. Now I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Bring on Book #2!

Thank you, Ms. May!

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts Book Two) by KG Fletcher

5+++++++ Stars

This book…..not sure how to write this review so just going to go with whatever pops in my head.

This story grabbed me from page 1…squeezed the ever loving life out of me…destroyed me …blew life back in to me, knocked me back down again, and then picked me back up…I ugly cried more than once, well more than twice actually and feel completely worn out. I’ve read I think all of this authors books, I’ve loved every one of them and will read them all again at some point, but this one even though the second in a series stands with in my top favorites of all time.

Ginger and Jonathon brought out every emotion I didn’t know I had. This story was written so beautifully and felt so real. I swear I feel like I stepped back out of Sandersville Beach after reading the last page. I loved Ginger in Emmy and Cappy’s book and love her even more now. Speaking of which it was so completely awesome being back with Emmy and Thomas again as well..I loved their story and it was nice to be apart of their continuing journey. I love this town and I love the people in it…I want to move there!

I want so bad to get into more details of the story itself but I don’t trust myself to do that without giving away things I shouldn’t be so will end here and leave you with…these books are a must read, there’s too much in the first book to skip it so I don’t recommend that. I can not wait for Fiona’s story, I’ve been curious since book one how she would be handled and her story is next..YES!!

Many thanks and much love to this author!

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts Book Two) by KG Fletcher – Review by Karyn Taylor

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts #2)Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stars Fall from The Sky is the outstanding 2nd book in the Reigning Hearts series by K.G. Fletcher. It can be read as a stand-alone although Emeline and Thomas from the first book Run To The Sea have a prominent role in this book, I would advise to read that first. (It’s helped by the fact that Run To The Sea is also an amazing book).
This first thing I’m going to say about this book is that you are going to need tissues handy when you read it. I even posted on the author’s Facebook page after a few chapters asking why she hadn’t warned that tissues were required. She told me to hang on in there, so I did. Guess what? I cried even more.
Ginger and Jonathon’s story is so emotional. I’m not saying you will be constantly crying, although there was some happy crying from me too. There is a lot of love and laughter too.
Ginger is widowed very early in the book and is left devastated to bring up her newborn daughter Daisy. (This is not a spoiler as this information is contained in the book blurb).
Jonathan has recently moved to the area and taken over the doctor’s practice. He’s moving on from heartbreak and wanting to start his life over.
The 2 are drawn together when they both join a grief club in order to help them control the grief they are both suffering from. As their friendship grows and both start to have feelings for each other we have an amazing story of 2 grief stricken people who are facing so much personal guilt about the possibility of loving another person.
KG Fletcher is an author whose writing I have totally fallen in love with and this book is a wonderful example of the amazing characters she writes and the journeys that these characters go in. This book just has everything. I’m struggling for the right words to say just how amazing and beautiful this story is. I know I have just finished reading this, so it’s front and foremost in my mind but I think this has just become my favourite K.G. Fletcher book.
Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Love & Ghosts is the first book in the Crescent City Ghost Tours series.

I loved Carrie’s Crescent City Wolf Pack series so I had to check this one out. This book did not disappoint. I’d give it more than five stars if I could. It does have a different feel than the Wolf Pack series, but the characters are just as entertaining and the story is expertly woven. I jumped into this book and couldn’t put it down. You can’t help but keep reading to find out what is up with the box!

One of my favorite things about this book was the costume that Sean wore to the ball and the running theme with it throughout the story.

Perfect Halloween season read! I look forward to reading the next book in the series!

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee – Review by Angela Hayes

Hidden TracksHidden Tracks by Zoe Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee is a contemporary rock star romance. I loved all the banter, quips, camaraderie, friendships- and the fun vibe of this story.
Astrid Sinclair has had to work incredibly hard to get to where she is. The music journalist knows all the ins and outs of the music industry first hand, having been married to a ‘rock god’. Since the divorce, she’s had to put in extra effort to earn her respected reputation. She may make her living from writing about rocks stars and musicians, but she has vowed never to get personally involved with one ever again. Her rule is about to be tested though, when she decides to do a story on the band “Downbeat”. Spending some time with the band to get all the information she needs puts her in close proximity with Seth Riveau, and their chemistry is instantaneous. Will he find a way to break down her defences? Will she decide to take a chance on love?
I had a little trouble finding my rhythm with this book. I struggled to connect with the characters and the story, but I think that maybe I was just having an ‘off’ day. There were times Astrid and Seth frustrated me quite badly and I had the urge to shake them. I loved seeing and catching up with some of the characters we met in ‘A Perfect Fit’- I especially love the camaraderie and friendship of the group.
If you love a great rock star romance, with wonderful characters, and just a little push-pull; then this is definitely the book for you!

Thank you, Zoe Lee!

Falling For His Badass by Jessika Klide. This is a new to me author. Just the cover and title were enough to want to read this book!!! This was an extremely fast read for me.

Lizzy always picks the wrong guys. So when her best friend asks her to take a road trip with her, she figures, why not. When she drops Tara off at her boyfriends house, his brother is there. She leaves before they can play matchmaker. Heading to her hotel, she just wants to let go and have a good time. Never realizing that BA already has his eyes set on her!! Will she fall for his badass????

I absolutely LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!

Falling For His Badass by Jessika Klide

5 out of 5 stars

Falling For his Badass written by Ms. Klide is the first in this series. This is a short story with a major cliffhanger….
The characters are well written, and you can see the sparks coming off the pages. The plot was great even though a little short I just loved it…
I read this book in one sitting I just couldn’t put it down.

Lizzy is tired of making the wrong choices when it comes to men, she trusts her best friend Tara to take her away for the weekend, She knows that if she wants an all-consuming love, she’s going to have to take a bigger risk to attract a different type of man.
Her panic button will be pushed, and before the first night is over, she will be Falling for His Badass.

In comes Brody Andrews (or otherwise known as BA or “badass”) is a military man to the core. He gets a quick peek of Lizzy at his brother’s house and must have her. In comes a Brody plan where they meet by chance. I’m not saying any more because the book is to short but.

Do BA and Lizzy hit it off? Can Lizzy overcome her panic attacks? Will BA show her she is worth the effort? Will Lizzy take the chance on BA? You will need to read this great book…

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts Book Two) by KG Fletcher – Review by Sara Oxton

Stars Fall From the Sky (Reigning Hearts #2)Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher a four-star read that you will want to catch like a shooting star. This is the second story in the Reigning Hearts series and be warned you will need the tissues by your side as you read this story as its very emotive, touching and dramatic reading. Ginger and Jonathon prove that two wrongs can make a right, as two broken hearts can hopefully make one between them. It really is a heart-breaking story and compelling reading; you will be doing yourself a disservice if you miss this series.
