Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas by Kadie Scott Five Stars
Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas is the fourth book in The Hills of Texas series by Kadie Scott. This is my first Christmas story of the season and what a great way to start. This book follows Ashley Hughes and Jennings Hill in a beautiful written romance. I read it in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down. All of the books in this series can be read as standalones, but I recommend you read them all because they are all amazing. Review by@sunbarn

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas (The Hills of Texas Book 4) by Kadie Scott is another fabulous book in this wonderful and addictive series. It is a contemporary second chance romance that will restore your faith in men and have you falling in love with the youngest of the sexy Hill men. If there is one thing Kadie does well it is writing romance.

When her best friend shows up, she takes a good look at past events and realises she had more to do with past hurts. Can she make things right with her ex bestie and move on?
Jennings has been in love with Ashley since he was a young boy, but she broke his heart. Now she is back, and he will do whatever it takes to make her his best friend again.

I enjoyed this book. This author continues to impress me with each book I read. The story is well written with lots of emotions and kept me engaged to the end. I read this book in one sitting, the emotional roller coaster had me turning pages fast. Grief and fate bring Ginger and Johnathan together but what will fate do? Do they have a future or will they part ways. They are great characters with heart and in need of healing. I highly recommend their story, it will warm your heart.

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas is the fourth Hills’ family story in Kadie Scott’s Hills of Texas series! You can read it as a standalone but it is such a fun to have read the series in order and knowing who is who and the dynamics among all the cast, leading and supporting! The writer is throwing together Christmas and wedding and a cowboy and homecoming and history and … We have Ashley Hughes whose twin sister Taylor is getting married to Ashley’s ex Eric and as it is a small town then NOONE believes that Ashley is more than happy with this scenario, she only misses not having been able to come home the last 2 years … then Ashley’s childhood friend Jennings Hills, a cowboy extraordinaire, enters the stage, sorry, the honky-tonk where the bachelorette party is taking place and the rest is history … well, these two have a loooong history and lot of things get unearthed and the jealousy and … well, it IS a Christmas story AND it is a romance so you can imagine how it all ends! If you need a pick me up and like from friends to lovers and Christmas stories then Ashley and Jenning’s story is for you for sure!

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas by Kadie Scott is the fourth book in the Hills of Texas series. This book can be read as a standalone. As with all books I have read by this author the moment I started reading this book I found myself lost within it. The characters were fun to read about – the connection between Jennings and Ashley was obvious and it was great that they already had a friendship built up. I could easily see their interactions and found them all to be enjoyable. The story was easy going and well written. It is the perfect lazy afternoon type book. The author does a great job a painting the picture of what is happening. This series has been entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable so far, I can’t wait to see what else is to come.

This book is a must read for anyone who loves a wonderful friends to lovers/contemporary holiday romance. It is a fun read that entertained me from beginning to end. If you have been following the ‘Hills of Texas’ series then you definitely won’t want to miss this story- you should definitely grab yourself a copy of this book and dive in ASAP. And if you are new to this series, or Kadie Scott’s work- then don’t worry, because this book can be read as a standalone, but be warned- there are recurring characters in this book/series, so be prepared to be intrigued enough by them to want to go back and to discover more about them all, by reading the other three books. Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas is the fourth book in the Hills of Texas Series by Kadie Scott. It is a great (western) friends-to-lovers story; with swoony cowboys, a small town atmosphere, a little drama, plenty of chemistry, angst, some emotion, humour, second chances, forgiveness, and new beginnings- all wrapped up with a Christmas bow.
The Hills of Texas Series Books are:
-Saving the Sheriff (Book One)….. Cash & Holly’s story -Resisting the Rancher (Book Two)….. Williams & Rusty’s story -Taming the Troublemaker (Book Three)….. Autry & Beth’s story -Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas (Book Four)….. Jennings & Ashley’s story
Ashley Hughes would love to just skip Christmas this year. She’s been avoiding going back ‘home’- but now she doesn’t have a choice because her twin sister is getting married. Now normally a Christmas wedding would be so romantic- but not when your twin is marring your Ex! Added to her stress is also knowing she will have to face the sexy cowboy who had once been her best friend- whilst dealing with the small-town rumour mill. Jennings, who we’ve met in previous books, is the youngest of the Hill brothers. He’s charming and has a ‘history’ with Ashley. He’d always wanted to be more than just ‘friends’ with Ashley- and now she’s back having to deal with an awkward and painful situation. When he ends up being her ‘plus one’ to the wedding, it and may just ignite the spark that has been simmering between them. This story was just like listening to a great country music song- with all the angsty, push-pull, broken hearts, mending fences, and finding love again. Ms. Scott proves to be a great storyteller who knows her craft and never fails to deliver a wonderful story. This would make a great Christmas movie too. I can’t wait to continue this series. Bring on Book five!!

I love Christmas books! They always get me into the moos for the holiday season no matter when I read them!
Ashley would love to do anything but deal with her hometown and all their whispers about her sister marrying her ex! Ashley has absolutely no feelings for him what-so-ever but that’s something no one believes. Enter Jennings, the ex best friend and person who is now her savior. He wants to help her out when it comes to town rumors but then rumors are linking them together romantically. The feelings stir but they are both too stubborn to admit it to one another! Will their stubbornness keep them apart?
I love Kadie Scott’s books. They being you all the feels, angst, drama, and everything you look for in a good book!

I loved being able to see the Hill family again in this book, and finally Jennings book! You don’t need to read the other books to read and follow this book. This story had something that I’ve not read about but maybe once or twice before, and it was done so well. Jennings, i knew he was a big teddy bear under all the quick witted comebacks and sarcasm. He and Ashley had some history and I was so hooked on how this was going to play out. And I loved seeing the other brothers in this story, even if they were just small interactions. The chemistry was off the charts here, they just needed to open their eyes and see it. Can’t wait for more from this author.

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas (The Hills of Texas Book 4) by Kadie Scott was a great romantic read to get you in the Christmas and wedding feels. I would give this book a five out of five stars. I found Ashley so relatable as a character. Running away, fiercely independent, and over the small town gossip. Jennings has a lot on his plate and his feelings for Ashley are starting to come to the surface. I loved all the twists and turns and could not put this book down.

When I first read the book’s description I knew I was in for a treat and From the very first page, I was hooked and could not stop until the very end and once I reached the end I was sad and immediately wanted to read it again. The Characters were very well rounded and able to relate to. This is the first book by Kadie Scott I have read but it will not be my last. I couldn’t get enough. Ashley was everything a woman should be feisty yet sweet. Jennings is the Epitome of a sexy Cowboy!

Claiming The Cowboy For Christmas is the 4th book in the Hills Of Texas series by Kadie Scott. I have to say that this has been my favourite book in the series, although I have loved the others. This is a beautiful friends to lovers romance with a bit of a difference. Ashley Hughes has come home to be bridesmaid at her twin sister’s wedding…to her ex. Added to that her best friend from childhood, Jennings Hill, who she fell out with due to her relationship with her ex, will be there. Jennings has been in love with Ashley since they were 14 and is out to convince her that he is the right man for her. One issue being that Jennings is convinced she’s still in love with her ex. I absolutely loved the characters of Ashley and Jennings. Ashley is trying so hard to prove to everyone that she isn’t still in love with Eric while fighting with the feelings she has for Jennings. Jennings is actually such a sweetheart, I totally adored him. The outward façade of the big tough cowboy hides a sweet, romantic man at heart. The storyline flows really well and is very realistic and believable. I loved the added bonus that this book was set at Christmas time as that really added to the storyline for me. We’ve now seen all 4 Hill men succumb to the charms of their women, will we now get to see the only female Hill sibling, Carter, get her HEA? I really hope so.

Falling For His Badass by Jessika Klide is a contemporary romance but is hot and sexy. This tantalizing little treat is just what is needed to escape the mysteries of life and plunge you into an alternate world you can only imagine from stories. The characters are complex but so much fun and Jessikas writing style is effortless as her words flow easily and just pop off the page.
Lizzie is over men and just wants a night out to enjoy herself. When she literally bumps into a solid wall of muscle little does she know that her life is about to change.
One look and that was all he needed to make her his but is the road to love that easy?
If you love romances, you will love this one. Trust me it is well worth the ride.

I absolutely LOVED this book! These characters are written so well I feel like I know them and could hang out with them. I really just want to join their fun family for any reason 🙂 They made me laugh, tear up and giggle a time or two. Mostly though I sit here with a BIG smile on my face while reading. That’s total enjoyment for me out of this story.
I can’t get enough of this family. These brothers! I just love when they have out and offer advice to each other. They have such great banter which shows a wonderful relationship between them.
Ashely, Jennings, Taylor and Eric….I really *felt* for these characters. What they have gone through and survived..this is one tough story because it could have easily gone another way. I enjoyed the way the author told the story to make it all believable and have he say..”Yeah that could happen” Many times I was irritated at Ashely or Eric then to turn around and be irritated at something Jennings did. Next they would crack me up and we would start all over again. Taylor was just a wonderful sister and so happy most of the time.
I love this series and this author does a wonderful job on the story. The chemistry between Jennings and Ashley is WHITE HOT! Be beware! I liked how the Christmas theme was weaved throughout this story. It was all perfect! Next please!

This is my second book by this author, with the first being book 3 in this series…Still have to go back and grab books 1 and 2 and then will read all 4 back to back. I LOVED this one as much as I loved #3. This author’s writing style has me completely hooked, this book was my first of this holiday season and it made me want to grab as many more as I can 🙂
This was such a sweet story and I read it in one sitting. Ashley escaped her hometown a few years back and moved to Denver to prove to her twin sister and her small town that she really was over her ex. Now she returns to stand next to said sister in her wedding to said ex boyfriend. She knows she’s over him but no one else believes her…Enter Jennings, someone Ashley has history with who agrees to stand in as a love interest so Ashley can once again prove she is perfectly ok with the upcoming wedding. Problem is she wants what her sister has, not who her sister has but as things get complicated with her stand in BF, misunderstandings and trust issues arise, along with issues from the past.
I again absolutely loved this story and there was a scene towards the end that completely took my breath away…I’ve only read two of these and had no problem, so they can be read as stand alones but it has made me want to read them all so Id recommend grabbing them all.

These two have chemistry between. Chase asks her out to keep the director from hitting on her.Things move quickly and they end up married. There’s drama in their marriage. What does their future look like ? Find out what happens next in this must read. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Sugar & Spice (Spicetopia #1) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Randall Murphy
This book is full of interesting characters and plot lines. It’s “Undercover Boss” meets Harlequin Romance and “Exit to Eden” with a bit of standing up for employee rights. While that may sound convoluted and twisted, it’s actually pieced together in a way that grabs your interest and has you hoping the right decision is made by Cy and that Jolie forgives him. While this isn’t like most of the romances that I’ve read, it definitely was one that I enjoyed and found myself wondering what the next volume in the series would be about.
Sugar & Spice (Spicetopia Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander Stars-4
This was an excellent start to this series! I really liked Cy and Jolie. Each had great development through the book. They have great chemistry. Phoebe Alexander did well the the steamy parts and the development of the storyline. I loved the undercover boss idea in the book. This was a fun and enjoyable read. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
CLAIMING THE COWBOY FOR CHRISTMAS is Book 4 in “The Hills of Texas” series and can absolutely be read as a stand-alone .
This is a quick and easy read. There is a teeny bit of angst and some really sweet moments. It is a story of forgiveness and second chances. Told in first person with dual POV this story moves at a good pace and is very holiday centered.
I enjoyed this story and the other books on the series.

The Billionaire Bodyguards series is a spin off from the Torzial Affair books, only told from the point of view of the Bodyguards that take care of the Billionaires. In this first book, we learn Jay’s story. He is the head of security and set to own his own division of the company. He met Sasha in the Torzial books and was infatuated at first sight! He hasn’t been able to forget her or get her out of his mind. Sasha is a ballerina and at least in my opinion, a bit of a weak and needy individual. She has extremely low self-esteem and doesn’t believe that anyone could possibly want her for more than a night. Even though I didn’t care for her character, I did enjoy the book immensely! There is action and adventure, travels around the world, and sexual tension that cannot be ignored! We learn so much more about not only Jay and Sasha, but others from the Torzial Affair books. It was extremely interesting to see the events we read about in the last series from a different perspective. Great start to a new series!

This was a very fast paced read but my goodness what a story this was. We get the needed details, the steamy scenes and the Insta-love all wrapped up nicely with a happy for now ending. I hope we get another book for both couples in this, even if Tara and John were brief. I was captivated by this book and who doesn’t love a military man?

This is a well written story that has characters that pop off the pages and into your heart. A story of never dying love, a strong love and second chances. Charlie packs her children up and returns home, hoping to find herself again. Jonathan has been trying to out run his past but when he finds himself back in his hometown, he may just hit his past face on. These two have history, is there a second chance in their future or will lies destroy what’s left? I highly recommend this book.

Falling For His Badass by Jessika Klide is a fun read that will let your easily get lost within the characters. This book is the perfect easy read. The characters and fun and interesting. I often found myself amused by them. They were engaging and entertaining. I liked that the story wasn’t too heavy at all. A lot of books nowadays tend to try and take themselves too seriously. The author however stuck to a fun and easy romance which I think makes this book better. This is the first hook that I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last.

Sugar and Spice (Spicetopia #1) by Phoebe Alexander 4 Stars
I’ve read other books by Phoebe Alexander and enjoyed them. This was no different. It was a fun, light read with a lot of steamy romance thrown in. It was amusing to see what goes on behind the scenes of the theme park. Cy Sweet is the youngest son of the Sweets, owners of Sweetopia. They send him undercover to work in the bakery to find out who is leading the revolt that’s in the works. The moment Cy lays eyes on the Red Velvet Queen, he quickly gets sidetracked from his objective. The better he gets to know Jolie, the harder he falls. Working in the theme park is an eye opener for Cy. Can their budding romance survive the secrets that they are both hiding?
To be honest, I really didn’t like Cy. He was arrogant, selfish and full of himself; a total spoiled brat. Thankfully he changed throughout the book where by the end, I was on team Cy, cheering him on. It was a fun read and I’m interested to see what happens in part two.

Kadie Scott can write one mean cowboy alpha male love story. I have read the previous three books in The Hills of Texas series and enjoyed each one. Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas adds an extra bit of sparkle and magic with the Christmas season as a lovely backdrop to the festivities that take place in the book. For that reason alone I truly enjoyed this book. The bonus was the relationship disaster that is Jennings Hill and Ashley Hughes.
Ashley has struggled with the idea of putting on her supportive and happy face while she attends the wedding of her sister and her EX. Yes her ex is marrying her sister. As if the stress of this isn’t enough she is faced with her ex best friend, Jennings. Jennings has had crazy feelings for Ashley since day one. A falling out has made even a friendship seem impossible to attain. Then the rumor mill gets started and things get even more complicated for these two. Will they be able to get over the past? Can Jennings be the man Ashley has overlooked all those years?
I will say this wasn’t my favorite of the series, I was just left wanting a bit more from the characters and more of a deep and thoughtful backstory. I did enjoy it and it was a nice light and airy rainy day read. I will be back to see what else is in store for the series!

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas (The Hills of Texas Book 4) by Kadie Scott. I loved this story, I was so excited to read this story because just from the description I was hooked. This may be book 4 but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone without any confusion. Ok so this one may be my favorite one yet but shh don’t tell the others! Ashley and Jennings will forever have a special place in my heart, they completely hooked me into their world and wouldn’t let go. Each character is complex, relatable and brings something unique to the story. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I love a good Christmas type heartwarming story. Five stars all the way! I need me a Christmas cowboy.

The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase ( The Holmby Hills Series Book One) by Allyson Simonian. This is a new to me author. As soon as I read the blurb, I wanted to read this book. I was looking forward to the book and I did enjoy it, I was just hoping for more. Maybe more knowledge of the characters. It was a very easy and quick read. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

This story is the first for me by Allyson Simonian. It was a surprisingly fast read, almost too fast as just as I was getting into the characters it was over. However, it was entertaining enough for me to want to read other stories by Simonian. This series definitely has potential.
Chase and Carrie are two very different characters drawn together by love and attraction. What they do with that love is what makes this story interesting.
Looking forward to reading more about this couple and others that follow.
