Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas Book 4) by Marianne Rice – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas, #4)Snowflakes & Stockings by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Snowflakes & Stockings is another really cute book by Marianne Rice, in the Wilton Hills Christmas series. It can be read as a stand alone- it is the first book I read in this series and I loved it. I look forward to reading the others, as they are each about one of Liberty’s siblings. At first it had a Fifty Shades vibe to it- not the bondage, but the characters. Young innocent reporter interviewing gorgeous millionaire bachelor. The mystery surrounding he and his family… But, this book was clean and adorable. I loved the characters and their chemistry. Liberty has a really tightknit family and they are all loveable. I liked the added tidbit of how she and her siblings got their names, it really brought the family to life. I like that Sawyer was really sweet, and wish there was a little more detail about his childhood loss. I felt it was breezed over and he didn’t get as much background built as Liberty. I recommend this book as a quick cute romantic book to get you in the holiday spirit, and enjoy the happily ever after.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas, #4)Snowflakes & Stockings by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had no clue when I downloaded this book that there were three other books before Snowflakes and Stockings. But no the less I picked right up on the storyline. I felt like I was in the middle of a Hallmark movie scene the whole way through the book. Rice did a great job setting the tone while keeping the reader hooked.
Liberty is a driven, independent spitfire who comes from a big close family. While Sawyer is equally driven and independent, he is the co-owner of Maine’s big tech firm. While Liberty is trying to investigate the identity of Maine’s Secret Santa, which she hopes will help her to land a promotion at her job, she comes across Sawyer. Personally, the way Rice developed Sawyer’s character I found very relatable. He comes from a workaholic family background, who don’t spend too much time outside the office together. When Liberty invites Sawyer to Thanksgiving dinner, she has no idea that he would fit in so perfectly.
I truly fell in love with this book so much that I downloaded the three-book the preceded Snowflakes and Stockings. This series is a must-read series, especially with the holidays approaching.

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour) by Victoria Zak – Review by Heather Lopez Renteria

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Victoria Zak knocks it out of the park with Rock Me To The Top! I absolutely love Joe and Melody’s love story! Melody falls in love with a famous drummer from the rock band called Gracefalls not only is Joe the all star drummer but her childhood best friend. This story gave me Nicolas Sparks love story feels but had enough smutty romance to it. It was hard to put it down as you go through the twist and turns with Melody living on the tour bus as GraceFalls manager and falling in love with her childhood best friend Joe. I loved that both had rough past and both come out on top of the world at the end. I found myself crying in some parts because of how much Joe loved her. I really hope there is a second book to see what happens next.

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairings Series Book 1)Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship by Parker Fairchild

I really enjoyed this Christmas romance. It was full of Christmas magic and really got me feeling the spirit of Christmas. The characters are really well written and relatable which brings the story to life.

After finding out her sister is engaged to her boyfriend Olivia decides spending Christmas with them is a bad idea so she decides to go away on a cruise to get as far away as possible. This cruise was just supposed to be a chance for her to escape and work on her book. Little does she realise that her hero in her book will come to life.

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 1) by Amy Argent – Review by Karyn Taylor

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! What can I say about Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent? For a start it needs to come with a ‘tissues required’ warning. Honestly, if you can read this book without sobbing like a baby then you must have a swinging brick for a heart.
I really don’t think that there are enough superlatives or that I have a big enough vocabulary to describe just how amazing this book it. I have to say that it totally wrecked me. I laughed. I cried, oh God, I cried so much. I was angry. In fact, I think I went through every emotion possible reading this book.
29 year old, terminal cancer patient Will Everson has to be one of the best characters that I have ever read, followed closely by Tori Somerset. They both blew me away.
This book is a total eye opener to just how awful cancer can be. Reading what Will’s character went through is just totally heartbreaking. I felt so much for him as we went through his awful journey with cancer.
This book now has to be up there in my top 10 favourite books ever and I know that I will read it over and over in the years to come. I wasn’t even halfway through it when I bought and downloaded the 2nd book in the duet as I just had to know how Will and Tori’s story ended.
This book is worth more than the 5 stars I’m allowed to give it!

3.5 Stars

Christmas Cookie On a Cruise Ship is the first book in the Perfect Pairings series by Parker Fairchild. This is a fun holiday romance- who doesn’t love Christmas and romance, right?
Dr. Olivia Chasen has decided to spend Christmas alone and lonely, rather than have to face her gorgeous twin sister or her sister’s new fiancé, who just happens to be Olivia’s ex. Urg! Awkward much! So, she decides to cruise away from her problems- literally! Things take an interesting turn when Santa turn up and she overshares while being a bit too tipsy. Will the magic of Christmas help her deepest desires come true?
If you love Christmas, romance, quirky characters, and a fun story- then you will definitely want to get your hands on this book asap!

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour) by Victoria Zak – Review by Bethany Rollins

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rock Me to the Top by Victoria Zak was a good first book to the Gracefall Rock Star Romance series. This book centers on Joe Grace, drummer for the rock back Gracefall, and his best friend Melody, a musician who’s hopes to join the LA Orchestra are befallen. Upon her loss of her dream, she joins Joe and his band on tour as their manager. During, this tour, Joe and Melody discover their true feelings and desires for each other and learn how to become more than just best friends.
I did enjoy this story and the deeper subject matter that it glimpses into. I was slightly miffed that Melody was a bit naive on the secrets Joe was keeping. Although I understand his secrets, I don’t understand why he felt he could not share them with Melody, as their trust for each other should never have been in question. Other than that, I really enjoyed the dynamic among all the characters in this story. I will gladly read the second in this series to discover more about Gracefall and the stories within.

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairings Series Book 1) by Parker Fairfield is an interesting read. This Rom Com is flirty and witty, with some quirky characters, and some strange moments. There is lots of Christmas spirit and an abundance of Christmas cookies. This light-hearted romance takes place on a cruise ship with Navy SEAL’s, Santa and Mrs Claus and a little Christmas magic and a lot of alcohol.
It is a fast and an easy read and an afternoon escape with drink in hand.

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairings Series Book 1)Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship by Parker Fairchild
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Olivia is shy, insecure, and tired of living in her twin sister’s shadow (who is a supermodel). After Olivia caught her boyfriend cheating on her with her sister, and they get engaged, she decides to take a cruise for Christmas instead of having to endure it with the new couple and the rest of her family. Jace is taking a cruise with some of his Navy Buddies to go to a wedding. Olivia is a scientist who is also an aspiring novelist, and is writing one about her true love, a man named Jace Morse. At first he seems too good to be true, and they start to fall in love. Olivia finds herself with help of new friends and works on having a better relationship with sister.
I can’t wait until book 2 comes out! I loved this book. It was cute, funny, cheesy, and romantic. If you like Hallmark Christmas movies you will love this book! The only negative thing I can say about this book (and why it’s only 4 stars) is Olivia is too childish, she drove me absolutely crazy! She did seem to have grown up a little by the end of the book, so hopefully the next one will be 5 stars.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas Book 4) by Marianne Rice – Review by Felicia Bates

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas, #4)Snowflakes & Stockings by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, despite Snowflakes and Stockings being the fourth book in the Wilton Hills Christmas series. I am a sucker for a good holiday romance the second the seasons shift so this cozy read hit the spot. I loved all the characters and while I usually find myself
more drawn to the male lead character in romances, Liberty was an exception. I enjoyed both she and Sawyer and their chemistry was adorable. I loved that the storyline had a lot of family involvement and the feel of the book was honestly small town, warm and welcoming (if that even makes sense). Snowflakes and Stockings was a great way to kick off my annual holiday book spree and I look forward to exploring more of Marianne Rice’s writing in the near future. 5/5 stars for me!

Cross-Country Christmas (A Silver Buckle Brides Romance) by Laurie Lewis – Review by Tamisha Janay

Cross-Country Christmas (Silver Buckle Brides #1)Cross-Country Christmas by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I tend to start and finish books like this quickly, but this story was so good and life got in the way so it was a slow read for me this week. Laurie Lewis did a fantastic job making characters that were so easy to fall in love with. We meet CC who has gone through a horrible breakup and is caught in the worst possible situation with no idea how to get out of it. Insert her knight in shining armor – equipped with cowboy boots and a rancher’s hat – and maybe there is a way her horrible situation can turn into a blessing in disguise. I loved the timid feel from both main characters and the love that was felt between Carlos and Emmie. It spoke volumes that there was so much to be uncovered and that it happened slowly. It felt like a true love story, rather than a rushed one. Reese had gone through a major loss in his life and had some demons that he needed to work through while CC was learning to face her own. The comparisons between the ranch and their lives were beautiful and heartwarming. This story was well thought out and well written. It made me want to read more from this author and learn what else is to come, not only for the main characters but for the families and the ranch itself. If you haven’t started your Christmas reads for the year, this is definitely a great one to start with!

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairing Series Book 1) by Parker Fairchild – Review by Erica Shoebridge

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairings Series Book 1)Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship by Parker Fairchild
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Who doesn’t love a bit of magic at a Christmastime, or a sweet romance set on the high seas? When the destined couple each separately meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus, they are initially skeptical that the wizened elderly duo are the real deal. Resident Navy Seal Jace Thomas, being the sober one, is the first to believe that the storybook pair are actually the one and only St. and Mrs. Nick. Good thing he is trained in doing recon, as he trails the beautiful Dr. Olivia Chasen around the ship, trying to believe that this captivating woman might be his own prettily wrapped gift. There is a healthy dose of cheesy lines in this romance, as well as many unlikely plot points that wrap up all of the coincidences with a neat bow. You’ll need an above average-sized ability to suspend disbelief for this tale to be believable. But, if you are a sucker for a Christmas miracle story, and a heartwarming soulmate happily-ever-after, you may enjoy this whimsical book.

Born to Fall (Can’t Resist You – Book 2) by Brittany Anne – Review by Erica Shoebridge

Born to Fall (Can't Resist You, #2)Born to Fall by Brittany Anne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Derek and Julia have an intricate romance, that has more substance than other, more whimsical romance stories. Julia’s history of abuse and torture make her falling in love with Derek complex and fraught with her growth as a character. She comes to realize the depth of her feelings for him, but her emotional and psychological health is still healing from her imprisonment. Her past associations with sex are non-consensual and shame-filled. Because of this, her reaching for him often is two steps forward, one step back. Luckily for her, Derek is supremely supportive of her, and doesn’t seem to mind her tentative steps toward him. This romance, set in a post-apocalyptic world where revolution is rolling makes it even more emotionally fraught. Julia must come to terms with her fears and learn to stand up and fight for what matters to her. Everyone’s safety may be hinging on it.

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent an emotional five-star read. This is number one in the Embrace tomorrow duet, and it does make you ponder, what if you don’t have a tomorrow, do you have enough to make it worth the fight for another tomorrow if you had too. This story will make you laugh, it will also make you cry, but most of all it will make you hope. I am not going to say if that hope gets lost as you need to read to find out, but I will say bring tissues, and wine, and a space in your heart for this duet. I am so excited to read the next chapter and see what will happen next, will I need more tissues, or more wine?

Born to Fall (Can't Resist You, #2)Born to Fall by Brittany Anne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A beautifully written dystopian romance series. Born to Fall is book two in the Can’t resist you series by Brittany Anne. This book picks up where book 1 left off except it is focused on Julia and Derek. **Read book 1 first**

Julia has been freed of her enslavement to her husband aka slaver, but her pain and fear still lingers. Derek is one of the leaders of the resistance. He has a lot of responsibility and work to do to help free the brain washed people that lived under the UNR’s rule. However, he is attracted to Julia and he wants to help her. He just doesn’t know if he can. Julia is attracted to Derek too but with the hurt and mistrust that she still has she isn’t sure if it could ever work.

I absolutely loved this book. We got to see more what living in a UNR community looked like and the damage it caused. We get the chance to see Julia in a compelelty different light and we get to know Derek too. This series is chilling because this could be a future realty. It is a what if series and that is terrifying. I cannot wait for book 3

Cross-Country Christmas (Silver Buckle Brides #1)Cross-Country Christmas by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story written by Laurie Lewis was a breath of fresh air after a long stressful week. I absolutely loved Cross-Country Christmas! Beautifully written and wonderful characters to boot.
It all started with an accident that brought 2 lost and broken souls together!
CC contracted to drive a brand new Tesla from Chicago to Las Vegas received some devastating news, which caused her to make a bad decision, landing the car crash and being buried under a snow drift. Reese received a call from a neighbor saying there was an issue with his fence. An issue that would forever change his life.
With the trials and tribulations of the holiday season, plus the accident looming over her head, CC and Reese spend this story navigating life and being around one another.
Will this adventure heal them both? Will it break them further? Will CC have to pay for the ill advised decision she made?
Everything gets answered throughout this story, not without tears(which I myself shed at points) and heartbreak. This is such a sweet Christmas Romance to indulge in by a fire cozied up with a mug of hot chocolate! I dare you to do just that, because that’s the exact homely feeling this book represents!

Born to Fall (Can’t Resist You – Book 2) by Brittany Anne

Born to Fall is the second book in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. I freaking loved this book just as much as the first one and I highly recommend reading the first book if you haven’t already. I’m a huge have to read a series in order kind of gal. This author continues to amaze me with her attention to detail and her ability to make you feel as if you are right there with the characters. This is a fast paced story that once you start reading you won’t want to put down till you finish or pass out like I did. I had to know what was going to happen next. This is Derek and Julia’s story ,he has always dreamed of saving the world so that drove him to join the Resistance. She wants no part but that changes once she meets Derek. When faced with a situation can she trust him enough and can she finally move on from her past? I highly recommend reading this to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour) by Victoria Zak – Review by Erica Shoebridge

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Rock me to the Top is an easy-to-read romance set in the backdrop of the electric beats and growling vocals of the rock n’ roll world. I enjoyed this aspect, and liked reading the details of live concerts and life on the tour bus. Joe and Melody are childhood friends, and have the solid background of so many memories together. I found their friends-to-lovers romance to be a bit abrupt; I would have liked a more detailed build-up. I liked the character of Joe, and found his feelings and motivations to be well drawn out and believable. Melody slightly less so; I wanted to know more from her perspective about what her personality was like beyond her feelings for Joe Grace. It took awhile for her to reveal her character and what matters to her. Still, this is a fun romance with a good theme and the supporting characters round the read out nicely.

Book Review: Cross-Country Chrismas
Author: Laurie Lewis
Five Stars
Sweet Christian, cowboy romance.
The magic and charm begin from the very start. This book was hard for me to put down. I managed to read it fairly quickly even though I have had a bunch of personal life stuff take me away from reading for a little while.
The story between CC and Reese is built on trust and almost destroyed because of broken trust. But more importantly they find they have to get back to their “true selves” before they can work on them as a couple.
The family relationships and their spiritual relationships are wonderful fillers in this story. The way Reese and CC connect spiritually in chapter 14 was really sweet and meaningful.
I am assuming that since Reese is the oldest of eight brothers that the Silver-Buckle Brides Romance may continue with the other Brockbank brothers.

Cross Country Christmas is a sweet, clean romance from Laurie Lewis. This was the second time that I had read any of this author’s work and I have enjoyed both books so far, I would definitely read more in the future.
The author does a great job of pulling you into the story with a dramatic first chapter that grabs your attention and makes you want to read more.
I really enjoyed reading Reese and CC’s story. The story is quite angsty (is that a real word?) as both struggle to keep their budding relationship/ attraction chaste and not progress to quickly. It was actually nice for a change for the two main characters not to jump into bed with each other straight away. I really enjoyed reading their progression from strangers to friends to realising their feelings for one another.
As well as Cc and Reese I loved the main secondary characters of Emmie and Carlos. They both add so much to the story and I really enjoyed reading about their relationship too.
Cross Country Christmas is a really great, heartwarming romance that is just ideal for cosying up on the couch with a hot drink to lose yourself in.
