Overall this was a great read. My emotions were all over the place. We get emotion, suspense, drama and so much more. The characters were great. And who doesn’t love a bass player from a popular rock band. This can be read as a stand alone but I highly suggest reading from the beginning. This is an enjoyable and engaging Christmas romance with a real festive feel to it. I was hooked from page one and was kept happily turning the pages by this heartwarming story. Investigative reporter Liberty Johnson has a mystery to solve, to figure out the identity of Maine’s Secret Santa. If Liberty can discover who it is then she is guaranteed a promotion and her own weekly feature on the local news. Having narrowed it down, the last person on her short list is someone who she thinks it can’t possibly be, due to his lack of interest in Christmas, businessman Sawyer Campbell. Liberty is instantly attracted to Sawyer and their chemistry sizzles off the page, and it’s not long until she is juggling both him and work. However, with her promotion within sight and her own weekly feature at risk Liberty has to decide between love or work. This wonderfully written festive read has a lovely storyline, likeable and relatable characters, and plenty of romance all of which made me feel immersed in the story. This book left me feeling in the Christmas spirit, a perfect winter’s read.

I enjoyed this book. Their intensity was palpable and fierce. I did feel like I was missing something from the beginning since I didn’t read book 1 or 2 first. It was a little angsty compared to what I usually read but I enjoyed it. The haunts of the past really play really deeply into their relationship development. I look forward to reading the next book.

I enjoyed this book a little more than Cade but that could be because I was more connected to it having read part of the series. I really appreciated seeing how they managed and coped despite the issues they had as well as encountered. I liked the single parent angle and adored Brielle. This one had me edgy because I wanted to see if they made it work. Definitely a good bow to tie up the series.

Ok let’s talk about how much I loved this book. I read this over a few days where work was so hectic, escaping to a fall and winter scene scape where there were giant families that mirror my own was much welcome. I fell in love with both the main characters right away. Liberty being the youngest and how her family acted towards her was spot on, myself being the middle child I totally get it. This book had me warm and fuzzy and ready for the holidays. I had no idea it was a stand alone book that’s part of a series I can’t wait to read the rest of the books.
CC is lost and alone, wanting to change her life she decides to take a journey her father had dreamed about but sadly passed away before he got to take it. So when a opportunity comes along to deliver a Tesla car to Las Vegas she jumps at the chance.
Reese is broken, with a failed marriage behind him and his families responsibilities he is just surviving so when he and his friend are riding the fence line and spot a Tesla in the middle of his fence his anger rises, but when he looks into the car and sees an angel, can she melt his cold, broken heart.
They two of them have there demons but can they overcome them and find love and light in each other.
This is the first book I have read by this author and loved it, it’s not often you get a romance book which is about emotions and feelings but this book touch my heart. CC is lost as she is all alone with no family, losing her father was hard but since that day she has lost her purpose in life until she meet Reese. The story is a slow burn and delves into the both lives and insecurities of both characters which drive the story along.
I loved the secondary characters and the relationships which were established and created within the story. I loved this book and can’t wait to delve back into the world of the Silver Buckle Mine or the The Brockbank’s in the next book in this series.

Snowflakes and Stockings by Marianne Rice a sweet and seasonal five-star read. This was great if a little predictable at times, but it has all the makings of a great story. Christmas, a go getter wanting to get ahead, and someone with a secret. Liberty and Sawyer will warm your heart as well as your toes. If you love Christmas give this one a go.

Luke is book four in the Default Distraction series by A.S. Roberts. Rocking romances are a favourite of mine and this author writes terrific, emotional and intensely sensual stories. She ignites an insatiable hunger for more and her characters are acutely individual and deeply intriguing. Some wear their hearts on their sleeves, while others are surrounded by a shroud of mystery. Her leading ladies are helpless against these men and set out to burrow deeply under their skin and steal their hearts for eternity.
Luke and Nikki were an absolute tumultuous joy to read about. Daughters, desirable nannies and a man fighting a personal struggle, this story has it all. I was unable to put this book down. It was just too beguiling. Too arousing. Too powerful. But not too believable. It was passionate, deep and entertaining. I could not have wanted for more. I fell hard for these two and the eclectic bunch that is Default Distraction. Author Roberts, you should be proud. This was an outstanding story. Also, part of an unforgettable series. 5 stars.

Cade is book three in the Default Distraction series by A. S. Roberts. What can I say about Cade? He has more money than you could poke a stick at, is an insanely talented drummer for one of the hottest bands in the world, has ties to the mafia, and likes to walk on the wild side. I am totally addicted to this author’s dialogue, her characters and the easy way the story flows. It’s effortless perfection. Not knowing what could happen next, I was on edge nearly the whole time. Dramatic flair, crotchety characters and a forbidden attraction thrown in makes for a delectable story that is terribly compelling. Falling for your band mate’s sister was always going to cause friction and fireworks, and what a spectacle it was. And utterly riveting. I obsessively devoured Cade and his journey and can truly recommend this bad boy and his band of colourful cohorts. It is a definite must read. You will be addicted in no time. 5 stars.

This is a great dystopian read! You don’t have to read book 1 but I highly recommend you do! This book follows Derek and Julia a few months after he carries her out of the prison she was being held in. He’s drawn to her and only wants to protect her. She’s known so much pain and suffered so much betrayal. There’s so much they need to focus on besides what’s budding between them. Can they work through all Julia’s pain and still fight against the UNR? I am not so patiently waiting for book 3 to come out!

But Sawyer is someone who could be technically called the “opposite of Santa”, He is strictly business like , and not very good at family relations. Liberty is exactly the opposite, warm, caring, loving. Now when they two meet, sparks fly between them but the differences also stand out between them. Can they resolve these differences and make their relationship work? It is nice romantic story with a christmasy feel to it. A good way to head towards the holiday season !
Born to fall, I absolutely love this book. Just as much as the first. It has me enthralled. Soulmates will do what needs to be done for there significant other and that is bottom line. Even if it means depriving ones self.

Snowflakes and Stockings – Winston Hills Christmas book 4 – Marianne Rice – October 2021
As the weather starts to turn a little colder outside, I am so excited to start reading Christmas stories snuggled inside my fluffy blankets. While this was my first Winston Hills Christmas book as well as my first Marianne Rice book, I am in love with not only her writing style but the characters, the story, and the feel-good vibes she has created inside the world of Winston Hills. Since finishing this story, I can’t wait to go back and check out the first 3 as well as the other stories she has written.
When I look for a story to capture my attention, I look for how well the story is written. Does the story flow well or does it feel choppy? Are the characters believable? Can I relate to not only the main storyline but does the back story of the characters seem to fit with the current story being told? I also look at the length of the book. Is this a story I can read easily in a few days between carpool lines and quiet evenings after my daughter goes to bed? Beyond the mechanics of the book, I also look for a story that is going to leave me feeling uplifted as if I just escaped the stress of my everyday life and was transported to a different world. I enjoy books from multiple genres so I look for books to help me enjoy an adventure into a world I may never get to visit.
When I first stumbled on to the synopsis of Snowflakes and Stockings, I saw the other reviews that mentioned: “It is just like a Hallmark Christmas Movie” over and over again, and while that might feel like a been there done that storyline, Marianne creates such a magical world inside the Winston Hills series that it doesn’t feel like every other Christmas Romance book or movie out there. She takes these two main characters, Liberty and Sawyer, and tells a story of redemption, work-life balance, the importance of family connections, and love. Liberty is out to make her big break as an investigative reporter and Sawyer is helping to run his father’s company. The spark between these two is evident from the very first meeting and continues to grow throughout the rest of the story. There are a few bumps along the way but life has a way of being bumpy when we are working towards our goals especially when fate throws a curveball when we are least expecting it.
I try not to give out 5 start reviews too often as to not dilute the WOW factor a 5-star review brings, but Marianne Rice totally deserves it for this book. What a wonderful way to kick off my Holiday Reading for 2021!
Born to Fall (Can’t Resist You – Book 2) by Brittany Anne was just as amazing as the first installment in this series. While we already had all of the fantastic characters and some background on each one, Ms. Anne gives us so much more in this book that you want to put it done. But what happens when every choice they make could be their last? Will they choose carefully? The book is so powerful and full of emotion that you will find yourself furiously flipping the pages to find out why happens next between Derek and Julia.

I must commend this author on her research of this disease, it shows in her writing here. I havent had a good cry in a bit and this one broke the floodgates wide open. I was put through the ringer with this one and was in the middle with my feelings about it at the cliffhanger . I will be reading book 2 as I want to see what happens and how the author takes this story along.

I love getting into a series and reading a different point of view for each book. This book followed Derek and Julia’s story. We met them in book one but they weren’t the focus. After the fall the resistance is trying to help the people. They have taken over a UNR compound that has become their new base and their new home. Derek is a resistance leader and the youngest of the “brothers” in charge. Derek saved Julia from the UNR and is still trying to make her feel comfortable and safe in the resistance. Julia is terrified of everything and isn’t sure who she can and cannot trust. The resistance is looking into a town that killed two of their men and learn that their leader is good at hiding the truth. It looks like a great community with caring people and leaders, but is it? This book is action packed with plot twists and turns and there is even some romance thrown in too. It was a great read and I can’t wait until the next one comes out!

‘Born to Fall’ is set in the same dystopian world, where America has fallen, the world has gone dark, and all technology is a distant memory, as book one in the series ‘Born to Fight’. I recommend reading them in order as the characters do crossover, and readers will be more familiar with the background to the controlling UNR and the Resistance. It was nice to ‘catch up’ with Hunter and Rain from book one, but this story concentrated on Derek who is part of the Resistance, and who is trying to free people from being slaves and Julia who he helped rescue. Derek had always put his duties to the Resistance first until he finds himself drawn towards Julia, but he worries that if he allows himself to fall in love he can’t still help save the movement. Julia has been through hell and survived but she now finds herself attracted to Derek, the man who literally carried her out of her prison. However, she sees love as being dangerous and is at war with herself about her feelings and her fear of her past being repeated.
The couple have to decide whether to take a chance at love, but will their decision lead to the fall of the Resistance. The dark dystopian world was yet again vividly brought to life by the authors wonderfully descriptive world building which insured I felt totally immersed in the story. The exciting, dangerous, action packed storyline kept me hooked from page one and the characters and the romance kept me happily turning the pages. I found the connections between the characters to be very natural and realistic, and Derek and Julia’s chemistry really came across in the narrative, as did their angst. An engaging read and one which I definitely recommend, and I hope this series continues.

Born to Fall by Brittany Anne is the second book in the Can’t Resist you series. This book is absolutely fantastic. I loved the first book but this one is even better. I was captivated by this story and the world the author has created. It feels like such a dark place, simular but so different. I love the whole idea this book is based on and the way the author creates such a vivid image is amazing. I loved Derek and Julie. I thought their story was so haunting and intense. They had both been through so many things. I am hooked on this series and I can’t wait to see what is next.

This is the 4th book in the Wilton Hills Christmas series. This is a Contemporary Romance novel and is 184 pages in length. This story follows Liberty and Sawyer. Liberty is a reporter and she is heading towards a promotion – her last assignment, is finding out who the secret Santa is. Sawyer is the owner of tech company and is at the top of Liberty’s list as suspected “Santa’s”. But after interviewing him and finding out he has no interest in Christmas, the assignment goes back to square one. Turns out she may not think he is the secret Santa, but her heart wants it to be.
So this is my first holiday-themed book for this year, and I really enjoyed this. It was a fun little read and I really enjoyed the relationship between Sawyer and Liberty and it was so cute. I may have to go back and read the others in this series. It didn’t take from the story either. A good chrismtas story to start the season off.
What a powerful yet witty book. Also full of pain, the story of Luke and Nikki with past pains. Luke and Nikki have had some rough times through their lives. They come together over a pink tutu, pink snow cap and mittens. You’ll need to read the story to find out about that scene. I promise, it’s funny. Nikki takes a job as Brie’s nanny and falls in love with Luke. Their relationship goes through struggles that brings them out stronger and tougher. I couldn’t have been happier for this couple. Well done by the author. The story flows well. I fell in love with the characters. They felt like real people. You should give this one a try. I high recommend you do.

Luke (Default Distraction Book 4) is another wonderful addition to this Rockstar romance series by this great author A.S. Roberts. I was like a kid in a candy store when I saw this book was coming out and may have in done a little dance, apparently I forgot I was on the bus. Anyhoo, I have been waiting and waiting and did I mention waiting for this book to come out but now that I have read it I am sad to see it end. Make sure you start with book one and work your way through to get the most out of the reading experience. These complex yet loveable characters and their back stories are everything you could ever want. It is so easy to get lost in one of AS’s stories and become invested in the characters whom feel like old friends. I am not going to give away anything. Nope no spoilers. Marianne Rice really had me going into her romance Snowflakes and Stockings, but I fell in love three quarters of the way through when she referred to Italian Sauces as “Gravy.” Having a heavy Italian background in my family that was what I heard growing up, but I’ve been looked at as I was crazy calling it that but I digress. Back to the story between Sawyer and Liberty! Liberty, tasking herself with finding out who Maine’s Secret Santa is, never thought the quest would change her life. Sawyer, a workaholic eligible bachelor, never made time for anyone in his life, till his eyes landed on Liberty. Coming from a “ broken home” myself, I understand both Sawyer and Liberty’s lives and family dynamic. I was always one to throw myself in my work as well. I feel at home reading this book and want to be part of their lives! In an idyllic holiday setting in Maine no less, dreaming of a white Christmas yet, I can imagine how beautiful it all must be. This is the first book in this series I read, so now I have to go back and read books 1-3, to see if I love them as much as this 1!
What’s not to love about Rockstar romance- right? This is all that and more! Hands down one of the best Rockstar romance stories/series that I have read- and I have read quite a few. Ms. Roberts knows her craft so well. This story has so much depth, development, interest, and attention to detail. And, when combined with the rest of the series- magic happens! Luke is the fourth book in the amazing Default Distraction series by A.S. Roberts. As with the previous three books, this is a superb Rockstar romance with plenty of emotion, drama, angst, chemistry, sizzle, tension, family friendship, choices, new beginnings, a touch of suspense- as well as being a bit of a window into the Rockstar lifestyle. It could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the previous three books first, as they help to build the backbone of the series, introduce the characters and provide other important details that can only enhance your reading experience of this book- as well as the series as a whole- not to mention that they are a wonderful reading experience in their own rights. Can’t wait to see what Ms. Robert’s has in store for us next!

This was the whole reason CC decides to take a temporary job driving from Chicago to Las Vegas, but fate would put up a few different obstacles before she could finish the trip. Reese is content living the bachelor lifestyle on his cattle ranch with little time for holiday cheer. Together they both must learn how to trust not only each other but themselves if they want to move past the pain from their pasts.
Laurie L.C. Lewis has written a beautiful story about taking a chance not just on love but on life. There are some twists and turns along the way which help to take this book to the next level. The beginning few chapters were a little slow which stopped me from giving the book a 5-star review but it is definitely a solid 4.75 star read! Highly recommend this to anyone who wants a quick read (less than 5 hours) and a wonderful feel-good Christmas story.

This book gave me the same warm and fuzzy vibes as watching a sweet Hallmark movie. Just comforting and wholesome. Liberty is a journalist on a mission to find the Secret Santa who has been making donations at Christmas time, and Sawyer is on her list. At first glance Sawyer is smitten. They’re both workaholics, but while Liberty has a big family she’s close with, Sawyer quickly realizes what little life he has outside the office. I loved them both. I loved Liberty’s family. I’m going to go read the first three in this series now!

I read this book without realizing that there were three others that came before it! It obviously works well as a standalone novel, which is great. Marianne Rice did a fantastic job with this book and the characters and interactions were always the perfect tones. Liberty absolutely had all the spunk of a journalist attempting to advance her career and the youngest sibling in her really stood out on the page. She’s a workaholic – which is evident from the very first chapter. This spoke volumes. She didn’t attempt to hide from her work or blow it off because she met a guy – and that is TRULY appreciated here. Sawyer is the big man at his (and his father’s) company and never takes the time to eat, let alone have a relationship or even a friendship. The fact that he and Liberty get along so well from the start and allowed their interactions to get better over time was heartwarming and made the story that much more believable. I loved the family scenes and appreciated how each individual had their own personality. This book really jumped out in my head like a movie and I respect any author that can make me visualize every page. The secret Santa aspect was unlike any holiday romance novel (or movie) I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying and I look forward to reading more from Ms. Rice in the future.
This is book 1 in this series and I loved it!! Melody Sterling is the daughter of a Rockstar and as she grew up around that lifestyle she had sworn to never get involved romantically with a Rockstar, that is until she becomes the manager for the rock band Gracefall. Joe Grace is the lead singer of the band and he has always been in love with his best friend Melody and the more he spends with her on the bands tour the more he realises how much she wants him too. Can she continue to fight her attraction for him or will she give up everything she swore she would never want and take their friendship to a different level. I can’t wait to read the next book. This book is steamy as hell.
