Recall: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 6) by Meghan O’Flynn

5 +++++++ Stars

This is absolutely one of my favorite series ever! I’ve read them all out of order and wish I could go back and start from scratch the 1st time all over again. Take my advice and read them all one right after the other…I was able to piece everything together and that’s mainly because each one can be read as a standalone I guess but trust me and read them all, I am so glad I got to start this one finally in order, and before I go any further let me just say how flipping excited I am to know there is yet more Petrosky to come.

This one started out in perfect Petrosky style sitting in a cafe and his inner dialogue at full force. I about fell out of my chair when I found out he was sitting there with his ex wife! I have become so completely invested in these characters lives that I feel like I personally know them, that’s kind of scary lol

This one had me all messed up, should I really be conflicted about what is going on in this book? No but I was and everything about this story had me on the edge of my seat. I’m not going to even try to sum it all up, she does that perfectly in her synopsis. Just know that I can not recommend this book, as well as this whole series enough. I’ve read other books outside of this series by this author and it’s pretty safe to say she is one of my favorites.

Absolutely Loved It!!

5-Stars

Recall: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 6) by Meghan O’Flynn was an excellent crime /thriller novel. It can be read as a standalone book but does mention things from the previous books. I loved the parts where Petrosky would reminisce about things that happened in the past. Some were good and some were bad. Having read the other books I felt the emotions he was feeling as he recalled them. Following him as he solved this case with his partner Jackson was incredible. There were ups, downs, and several crazy individuals. It never ceases to amaze me how the author creates these characters with such creative traits. I absolutely loved this novel and I highly recommend it.

I give Recall: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 6) by Meghan O’Flynn, 4 stars.

This is a gripping cop suspense book where the police are trying to catch a killer before he kills again. It is quite graphic and dark, so if you do not like extreme detail about gory murders or delve into the darker side of things, this book may not be for you. But if you are okay with that, I definitely recommend this book. The detective has seen much and been through much in his long career. This makes him all the more interesting. I really like how the main character is older and seasoned, not new and fresh like too many main characters in books are. Personally I also enjoy his dark sense of humor. At the same time, so see just how big his heart is. And his partner compliments him so well.

The story itself is so interesting. This is the first book I have read in the series, so I am aware that I am missing out on some things, but the author does do a good of mentioning the things that have happened in the past. I cannot wait to go back to catch up. The story of them chasing after the bad guy with no idea who it could be is not a new one. But the author does this so well, it feels like something completely new to me. I could not put it down and I had no idea who the killer was until the end.

If you enjoy thriller suspense books where the detectives have to put the clues together to catch the killer, this book is for you.

I can’t even find the right words to discuss this book with the enthusiasm that it deserves, and that is saying a lot because well I love my words and I love talking lol. In all seriousness though, this book is like the icing on the cake of the Ash Park Novels. I have loved and devoured each one previous to this book at least twice now, and I foresee another reread in my near future. These books are the best of the best when it comes to thrills, suspense, intrigue, and self-taught lessons often learned the hard way. As such a fan I did some staling of Meghan O’Flynn’s other work and history and turns out she is a therapist of some kind, and I can only imagine the things she spins in her mind on the daily. I adore the way these books seem so real and vivid that you often expect to turn on the news and hear about the murders taking place in real time. Being a true crime junkie makes these books the best to feed my addiction.

Recall is the sixth book in the series, and while you could read them as stand alone novels I would highly recommend that you read the others to follow along some of our character favorites like Detective Petroski and more. I won’t give much more than what is divulged in the blurbs given by the author so I’ll just skip that part and tell you to go grab these novels. Take my word for it and carve out some time because if you are anything like me you will soon become addicted and need the whole story. I sincerely hope that someday we will get more from the ever talented Meghan O’Flynn and her Ash Park series. For now I will settle with a long, dark, and twisty reread!

Recall: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 6) by Meghan O’Flynn. I love this series its about Detective Petrosky whose daughter was brutally murdered but things are finally looking up for him. He and his ex are on speaking terms, his new partner is good but the criminal world is still alive and well. When a councilman’s son is murdered the city turns into mass choas and even though there is no forensic evidence it looks like a professional hit. After searching for the killer and realizing they had killed at least 2 other people are they dealing with a serial killer? Petrosky and his partner are working amazing together and they are hoping to find this killer before even more people end up dead. I have loved reading about Petrosky, he has become one of my most favorite characters I’ve ever read. You can read this book as a standalone but it will be even better if you read all the previous books! These books can be dark and deal with sensitive topics but they are sooo good!

I was once again on the edge of my seat. I was not let down with this the 6th book in this series. The author has such a unique way of drawing out the drama adding intrigue. I felt as though I was in the action as it happened. The characters just seemed to jump right off of the page bringing the action to the reader.

Jumping back into Petrosky’s life is once again a journey into the macabre. I really enjoyed this change of pace and genre. The way that his life has changed for the better and his struggles with the changes show how personified his character is. I really could sense the emotions rolling as he was investigating the case. I was glued to the pages to find out what would happen next. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

Recall was a great 5 star read and book six in the Ash Park series.
I was excited to get reading this book and I was pulled in right from the beginning.

Petrosky is investigating the death of a councilman’s son. We also meet his new partner, Jackson, who is perfect for him. This seems to be the most challenging case yet for him.

Will he solve the mystery before it’s too late?

My emotions were all over the place. We get suspense, mystery and so much more.
These can be read as stand alones but I highly suggest reading from the beginning. It will help you connect better with the characters. Petrosky is great, even after all that he has been through he still has a big heart. All of the characters were great. Meghan has once again brought me into her world with her great writing and I couldn’t put it down until I was done. 1-click and get started today on this great read.

Recall: An Ash Park Novel by Meghan O’Flynn is the sixth book in the Ash Park series. This story can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the preceding books. Detective Petrosky is finally feeling in a good place but of course things don’t always stay the same. After a councilman’s son is murdered things start to get out of control.
This story is dark and gritty but there are moments of humor to break the tension. This is so well written and kept me on the edge of my seat. I always reading books in this series despite the serious topics that are brought up. I look forward to reading more from Meghan O’Flynn in the future.

What a surprise this book was! I didn’t know we would be getting more from this series and what a book this was. It can essentially be read as a standalone, but I wouldn’t want to as we get to know more of the history of Petrosky in the previous books.

We are introduced to a new partner, Jackson, and I felt she was perfect to add with Petrosky.
We’re onto another killer and this one is tests Petrosky and his moral compass.
What a book. You won’t want to miss this one.

This book was a surprise to me. I really wasn’t expecting another one. So SURPRISE! This picks up after the last book. You do not need to read the previous ones to understand this one. The author does a good job smoothing in anything from previous stories into this one. Although Petrosky is easier to understand after seeing all he has been through if you have previously read these. This is as wonderful, scary and shocking as the previous ones.

Jackson (new partner) and Petrosky driving down the road. Freaking people out driving down the interstate….hilarious!! Jackson seems to add to Petrosky’s weirdness. She was a great add especially after what’s happened to his previous partners. She add some levity and sick humor as well as sarcasm.

This is another great story in the Ash Park series. Reading the end after the story. There looks to be more if these two.

Recall is the sixth book in Meghan O’Flynn’s Detective Petrosky Ash Park series! Finally he is back! I think you could read Recall as a standalone but you would get so much more out of it knowing more about our Detective Petrosky and the other recurring characters so if you can take the time, start from the beginning!
Detective Petrosky has a new partner and a new investigation that is leaving him torn as on some level he does not want the killer to stop as he has been keeping Ash Park most vulnerable safe from the criminals that Petrosky has worked so many years to put away … Our beloved Detective is still messing up his personal life but he is working on getting his act together while he is brilliantly working on his cases with a new partner who brings her own dry humor into their partnership! I promise you will get addicted as I am and you will start following (stalking) the writer to make sure you do not miss any releases!

Book 6! Who would have thought this series would keep going! Dark mystery, violent murders, sadness…all the negative feels. No rainbows here!

O’Flynn writes mystery horror stories. I wanted to mention that she’s the Stephen King of Indie but then there’s a reference in the story and that might not be the compliment I mean it to be! I love her twisted way of writing. Page turning even in the gruesomeness of it all.

I would never want to live in a place like Ash Park but if I did I would want these detectives there battling for good, trying to safe human-kind!

I recommend this story, heck this whole series. But you must read it all in order. You won’t be sorry. Such a great story!

Recall is the brilliant sixth book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. This thriller is a fantastic addition to the series- I was glued to the pages from beginning to end, reading it in one sitting- and absolutely loved every mind twisting minute.
The series has been such a fantastic read. It could be read as a standalone, but there are recurring characters and snippets of backstory and previous information which play a part in this book, so reading all the other books would give you a larger, more developed perspective- which in turn will enhance your overall reading experience. The books are all really great- quite intriguing, intense, and suspenseful, so reading them all is definitely a plus for you!
This series just goes from strength to strength, each book delivering an intense, gripping, and polished read. And, as I have said numerous times now, I am so impressed with Ms. O’Flynn’s ability to spin an incredibly clever thriller- her books just get better and better as the series has evolved. The amount of tension, suspense, shocks, and brilliant twists, surprises, and puzzling situations that she manages to infuse into each story, really makes me sit up and take notice- always unpredictable right up till the end- whilst delivering a heart pounding, stomach clenching, and mind-blowing read.

Thank you, Ms. Flynn!!!

Recall: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 6) by Meghan O’Flynn is a suspense thriller and another story where Detective Edward Petrosky is out to catch the killer, but we get to see the softer side to him as well. I have enjoyed this character and is no nonsense ways and his thoughts make me laugh at times. Meghan has once again cleverly constructed a story that is full of tension and suspense, intrigue and thrills and I was glued to the pages from beginning to end. Meghan also addressed the issue of mental illness and those dealing with the fallout of once being at war.

Petrosky has lost so much and is finally pulling himself together for the women in his life. His way of thinking is clever, and he works hard to catch the killers but he also loses a little bit more of himself in the process. He is also a softy who will always help those who need a little more.

I am looking forward to what the next book has in store for us.

By Meghan O’Flynn
5 out of 5 stars

The story Recall: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 6) by Meghan O’Flynn is an amazing book to read. It has mystery and suspense. There are times when I wondered what was going to happen next. As the main characters try to solve the murder of the son of a very important member of the community you are taken on an investigation that is a ride that will not stop until the end. It is up to Detective Petrosky and his new partner to find and bring in the murderer. This is another wonderful book set in Ash Park. Detective Petrosky is a character whose personal life may be a bit of a mess, however, when he is on a case, he does everything he can think of to solve it. This sometimes gets him in hot water. Is this murder a random attack or is there more to it? Is the killer a vigilante who protects those who need help the most? Will Petrosky and his partner bring the killer in? Read this book to find out. I also enjoyed reading about Petrosky’s partner. She is tough, snarky, and strong. Whatever Petrosky can dish out she can take and has a reply waiting for him. This is a story that is dark and has some twists to it. The story does deal with a sensitive subject throughout the investigation. There are many other characters that are introduced. Some of them are helpful to the detective and his partner, others have their own agenda and plans. Don’t miss out on a story that will have you turning pages and not wanting to put it down until you have read the final page. I highly recommend this book. I also wanted to recommend the entire series. The series is amazing!

Recall: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 6) by Meghan O’Flynn
Genre – Hard-boiled detective/crime thriller
Page Count – 270 pages
Publishing Company – Pygmalion Publishing
Things are finally looking up for Detective Petrosky. Sure, his daughter’s still dead, his granddaughter’s in another state, and they keep putting lemon in his freaking water, but he’s sober, his ex-wife no longer hates him—as much—and his new partner is as good at police work as she is at matching his snarky comebacks. But criminals don’t take a break; those bastards never sleep.
When a councilman’s son is brutally murdered, the city explodes into controversy. Though the teen appears to have been ambushed in a random attack, there’s no forensic evidence at the scene, and the boy’s neck was snapped as quickly and efficiently as if it were a professional hit. Was the murder politically motivated? Or was the victim involved in something else—something bigger? Perhaps the slaying is linked to the old crime scene photos the victim had been collecting, some from cases Petrosky himself worked. And whoever murdered their victim killed at least two others. Ash Park may be dealing with a serial killer five years in the making.
But the victims from these older cases are far from innocent—each appears to have been killed during an attempted rape. Is their suspect a cold-blooded murderer, or a hero vigilante? And what does any of it have to do with the councilman’s son? All Petrosky knows is that until now, their perp has been protecting the most vulnerable citizens of Ash Park from the very worst of humanity—from the criminals Petrosky himself has spent his entire career trying to put away.
And Petrosky isn’t sure he wants him to stop.
Riveting, and as dark as it is mysterious, Recall pushes the boundaries of right and wrong and turns the notion of justice on its head. Fans of Harlan Corben, Lee Child, and Karin Slaughter will love the Ash Park series.

THE ASH PARK SERIES STARTS HERE…

Edward Petrosky joined the Ash Park police force with two goals in mind: escape the military and silence the demons that followed him home from the war. And no one soothes those traumas better than his fiancé, Heather—he doesn’t even mind that she has a checkered past of her own.

But his dreams are obliterated when one night, on a routine call, Ed stumbles upon a scene as horrifying as any he’s seen in combat: Heather’s bloody body, half-buried in the snow. Though his superiors order him to stay away from the investigation, Ed can’t help but notice the inconsistencies in Heather’s case—her supposed cause of death doesn’t mesh with what she’s told him about her past.

When another body turns up, Ed realizes that Heather’s murder wasn’t an isolated act of violence; this new victim was connected to the same shelter where Heather volunteered and attended the same church where a kindly priest seems to know more about the murders than he should. And the detectives working the case seem indifferent to these links despite being no closer to finding Heather’s killer.

Now Ed must choose whether to play by the rules or sacrifice his career to seek justice for the woman he was supposed to spend his life with. One thing’s for certain: Ed can’t go down without a fight, because Ed isn’t the only one seeking vengeance.

And in Ash Park, the innocents aren’t always who they appear to be.

Chilling, and as twisted as you’ve come to expect from Meghan O’Flynn, Salvation will keep you glued to the pages. If you like James Patterson’s Alex Cross series, Tana French’s Murder Squad series, or Vargus and McBain’s Violet Darger FBI thrillers, you’ll love Ash Park.

Killer Lawyer (Jake Wolfe Book 3) by Mark Nolan – Review by Emily Walsh

Killer LawyerKiller Lawyer
ByMark Nolan
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Killer Lawyer (Jake Wolfe Book 3) by Mark Nolan was a pretty okay read that has many heart stopping moments.

My first read by this author, I didn’t know what I was getting into. I will say that this book is part of a series, and though this book can be read as a standalone, I did find that there were many things, in regards to character background, development, and past plots; that at times made me feel lost. So I highly suggest reading the other books before this one.

As much as I enjoyed this book, I have a mixed review for you.

This was for me, a slow read, that was a little all over the place. I felt like there were too many sub-plots, too much non-essential information, and way too much overexplaining. The lulls between action were dull, too long, and frankly I got a little bored. To be blunt, I got some Issues with Sara. Now that could have come from me jumping into this series at book 3, but man oh man, she got on my nerves. I don’t like when ultimatums are given, and frankly I found the way she acted towards Jake was immature and closed minded. There has to be give and take, and to make a relationship work, compromise is needed, and one person should not have to give up their entire life/job, when the other party isn’t willing or won’t do the same. I’m a serving member, and maybe I’m pulling at old wounds, but that whole situation was, you could say, triggering for me.

On to the good.

I have a deep love for the amount of research that when into this book. I’m talking the little things, one that got me was the “hurry up and wait.” It’s a common military situation, one I have been in many times. Nothing like to have to show up for 0530, only to be told you’re on standby, but you can’t relax because you might have to jump into action at a moments notice… three hours later and you’re still “on standby“… so yeah, that one made me chuckle.

When the action got underway it was suspenseful, heart stopping, and detailed. I like the multi POV, especially when the killer was narrating. It was a creepy look inside his twisted head, and added a darker, almost panic like layer, that offset the slower parts of this book. I like all the characters, their connections to Jake and even though they gave him greef, you could feel the respect they had for him.

Overall this book is well written, engaging and intriguing. It could use a hair cut, to get rid of some of the unnecessary bulk and filler, but in the long run, I very much enjoyed my time reading this thriller and it gets my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading.

ByT. Birmingham
My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

Written in the Stars (Fallen Eagles MC Book 2) by T. Birmingham was an addicting read that will hook you from start to finish.

My First read by this author, I went in blind and man am I happy I did, well I have one regret, I regret not reading the first book. Though this can be read as a standalone, you can tell there are overlapping characters and things from that first book that would have helped me in this one in regards to character development and background. So don’t be like me and get that first book.

This book is more than a romance, it has a spine tingly murder mystery that plays quiet the roll, it’s actually the opening scene. Telling you right away that this book isn’t going to be light hearted. That alone pulled me in hard, and hooked me. I love me a good thriller and this book delivered. It not only gives you dark mystery, it gives you a serial killer to chase, as well as a growing love stories that somehow gets intertangled in it. This story has a little bit of everything, with rich, engaging writing and lush detail, you will get trapped in this stunningly real world that T. Birmingham has created.

Overall, and if you haven’t guessed, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

”Dark and intense, with an M. Night Shyamalan-level twist.”
~Kristen Mae, bestselling author of the Conch Garden series

OLD SINS. NEW BLOOD.

Deputy Sheriff William Shannahan doesn’t feel like a detective, at least not like the ones he admires on TV. Not that he needs to be; the small town of Graybel, Mississippi, is a peaceful place, with acres of farmland, neighbors who always take care of their own, and noise from the outside world muted by a hundred miles of forest.

That silence is about to be broken.

When a child is found dead in the woods, the medical examiner deems it a dog attack. But the paw prints belong to something far larger than any creature in the Mississippi forests, and what animal would remove the victim’s eyes? Though no one believes him, William can’t shake the feeling that a human killer lurks in the shadowed woods.
And his girlfriend, Cassie, has a son the same age as the victim.

Cassie Parker was raised amid horrors she’s long pushed from her mind, but her scars won’t let her forget. Nor do the hallucinations, dreams so vivid she can feel and smell and taste them. And no one is more terrified than Cassie when another victim is found mauled to death—because this body has been drained of blood. She knows exactly what type of person would sacrifice a child, and why they’re after hers. But how can she explain it to William?

This is William’s chance to act like a detective, to protect the woman and child he’s desperate to save. Pushing back against prejudice and presumption, he uncovers a trail of cruelty that spans decades, but each clue brings him closer to a truth more horrifying than killer beasts in the forest. For concealed beneath small-town politics is knowledge that will shatter everything he knows to be true about his town—and the people in it.

A compulsively readable thriller in the vein of Cujo, The Girl on the Train, and M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village, Shadow’s Keep is a mind-bending exploration of obsession, desperation, and how far we’ll go to protect those we love.

Meghan O’Flynn is a clinical therapist, writer, artist, wife, and mom. She adores her amazing little boys, dark chocolate, tea, dirty jokes, and back rubs with no strings attached, in that order. Meghan is the bestselling author of The Jilted, Shadow’s Keep, and the Ash Park series—which includes Famished, Conviction, Repressed, Hidden and Redemption—and has penned a number of short stories including “Crimson Snow” and “Alien Landscape.” She is frankly amazed that her wonderful husband still agrees to live with her after reading them and even more shocked that he seems to sleep soundly.

Redemption An Ash Park Novel, Book 5, by Meghan O’Flynn – Review by Madison Degraffenreid

Redemption by Meghan O’Flynn An Ash Park Novel Book 5

5-Star Novel

Out of all of the Ash Park Novels this one by far is my favorite. Hannah Montgomery disappeared in the first book after escaping death from the Looking Glass Killer. She is discovered by Detective Petrosky and Detective Scott. She shares that she may have info on the person who killed Petrosky’s daughter so instead of hauling her in for questioning he provided her a safe place to stay.

  1. I loved Hannah being back in this novel. I really liked her character in the first book. The author never ceases to amaze me with the detail in her books. I also like that Petrosky seemed to be remade into a better man with this novel. This novel was also an emotional one but very enjoyable. I thought I had it figured out toward the end but there was a change I did not foresee.View all my reviews
