My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Traveler is a sci fi with a special time traveler that reveals himself in a unique form. This story has humor, great world building and very interesting characters. Harry is not what one would expect when you think of time travelers. Travis is just a man thats more accepting than most and gets pulled along on a crazy adventure. Highly recommend if you are looking for something different to read that will keep you interested from beginning to end.

The Traveler: Book 2 by Deborah Dugan. This book takes us back to The Traveler book one. I do recommend reading the 1st book to truly understand what you are reading. During book 1 Harry had gone into a very long period of stasis. While he is in stasis it lets his body reload, heal and re-energize. During this process he will recall things of his past and the lives he has lived. While he sleeps we see Tristan living in the present time and seeing how the world he lives in his going. When Harry awakes he feels like a real person after a long time of just being and he will see how it is to live in the real world. If you truly enjoyed the first book you will love this one because it will go deeper into the life of the Traveler and explain his being. Its a very good sci-fi read and you will want to see if Harry can make it in the real world even though he has despair in his heart and is feeling lost. Read The Traveler series today!

I really need to make sure I start at the beginning of a series moving forward, as this was singularly the most unique read, and it’s unfortunate that I didn’t get to become one with the Traveler before moving onto this installment. Despite not reading the first novel in this series, I found myself entwined in the authors writing and the adventures/emotions, as well as the peaks and valleys that come to pass through the timeline in which this takes place. Lately, I have been picking up easy to read, quick novels to pass the time, and this certainly was not one of those. It is a very involved, deep literary adventure, that is best if you take your time to really commit to what is going on within these pages.

I’m a huge time travel fan, when it comes to movies/shows/novels, and this one did not disappoint, nor did the authors ability to weave the fantasy and science fiction into the readers imagination as well as the characters as well. There is always good and bad out there, and it’s up to us to really do all that we can do face our fears and do all that we can to be able to get through this life, and perhaps our afterlife/lives as well. The novel may seem a little jumpy at times, though it could just be me, and I really need to read the beginning to follow the way this is done! Very much look forward to reading the first installment and coming back to this one. If you have the time to commit to this series, do it!

I was so excited to read this book. I enjoyed book 1 immensely. Getting to see more of Harry’s past lives was interesting. I really enjoyed learning about previous relationships that he had a chance to develop. His life as Small Brother both made me happy and broke my heart. It was devastating to see the way people rejected him. The component I enjoyed most in the first book was Harry’s relationship with Tristan and I was so happy to see how much of a positive impact the relationship had on Tristan and that we also got to see his life after Harry. Another book full of great characters and interesting adventures for the Traveler. I look forward to reading more of this series.

The Traveler is back, but this time his experience is slightly different, he has woken up in a different frame of mind, he has woken with despair in his heart and another lifetime to live, however this time he does not know if he will be able to last through the experience again.

While in his latest stasis period, he has been changed, he has woken up in a completely different configuration and cannot understand why, that is until his memories come crashing back. He is overcome by emotion and struggles to take everything in to a point which is detrimental to his health, but eventually he comes out of it and is able to process enough so that he can eat and drink.

One thing which remains though is hope, hope that he can live with the despair in his heart, hope that he can work within his new physical configuration and hope that he can still communicate with those around him, but will this hope be able to get him through the trying times and chaos which lies ahead? Will The Traveler be able to come to terms with this latest ordeal? How can he overcome the loss and despair he is being swamped by and being life back into his current lifelessness?

This is a sci-fi which deals with some hard hitting emotions and situations, through the lens of both the observer and the observed and which makes you think about your own experiences and how they have affected your life while you follow along with the story.

Book Two was a very interesting installment of this series and I could not put it down. If you enjoy sci-fi fantasy storylines with a bit of adventure, you will enjoy this book.

If you’ve read book one, you know that it ended with Harry diving into stasis. While in stasis, he dreams of his other lives while he was living outside of stasis. In book two you follow Harry as he faces his next adventure and challenges, all while contemplating his next step.

The author excels at constructing a magnificent story and fills us in with Harry’s backstory. She left plenty of room for more adventures in this series. I hope she plans on writing more engaging additions to Harry’s life story. She really makes you think about what would go through your mind if you were in Harry’s shoes and lived through multiple lives/life forms.

I enjoyed this compelling gem of a book and think other sci-fi fans will too.

I give this book 4 of 5 stars!

After how much I enjoyed the first book I couldn’t wait to start reading the second. The author transports us yet again into an intriguing and well written story that had a unique feel to it. It feels so different to other books in the genre.
I really thought you could see how the character had developed from one book to the other. It was nice to see that progression and how it carried the story. This series really has been so interesting so far and I can’t wait to see what is near from this author.

4 stars!

Interesting read. I will be honest, I did not read the first book, I feel like there were holes that would have been filled had I read the first book, so I definitely recommend reading them in order. I really enjoyed the first part of the book the most. Reading of the life of Small Brother and the tribe. I was devastated with the way the Shaman reacted and handled things, I was fully invested in Small Brother’s life and was excited to see him bond and live with the tribe and Old Father. Reading of Stalker was interesting but not as exciting for me as the first and 4th parts. I was happy to learn that Tristan was able to see Harry again after so long but, Elena was getting on my nerves with not being readily accepting of him. Who wouldn’t want to talk to bugs?

I really enjoyed The Traveler so leapt at the chance to read Book 2. It didn’t disappoint! Book 2 brings us loads more of Harry’s backstory, which is fascinating, as well as developing the present-day story. I would only recommend this book to people who have read Book 1 – I think it would come across as a bit slow and confusing if you’re not coming at it from that angle. So if you’re reading this review and haven’t read Book 1 I would put that at the top of your tbr list!
At the end of Book 1, Harry went into stasis – an incredibly long and deep sleep that would allow him to replenish his energy and heal his body. While he is in stasis, he dreams of some of the many lives he has lived before and these make up the bulk of the story. These are fantastic, taking us to a variety of moments in history and seeing how different humans have responded to Harry in these times. These stories in themselves are very engaging, and at times emotionally moving.
Meanwhile, we get to keep up with what’s going on in the world Harry left behind as he sleeps. We see Tristan recovering from the emotional rollercoaster of the first book – I was very grateful to see him still in the story.
This book gets five stars from me! I can’t wait to read the next one! I would recommend the series to readers of sci-fi and fantasy who are looking for something entertaining, thought-provoking and original.

Book 2 of The Traveler was just as great as book 1 if not better.
The author has told this story in such a way that the characters emotional journey is your own.
This book takes us more in depth as well as gives more insight about Harry and this next cycle of his life. This book was very heartfelt, emotional, and addicting from page 1. The Traveler shares life lessons and experiences many times over.

The Traveler is an ancient being, who has taken numerous forms to gain power and more experience.

Seeing as this is the second book, I don’t want to give anything away. I didn’t read the first one but I definitely will now to help fill in the gaps though I was too confused or lost while reading this novel.

This was more emotional than I expected with a title called ‘The Traveler’. I will admit while reading I kept thinking of Doctor Who.

I don’t know if there will be another novel in the series or not. I hope so we can read more about the The Traveler’s experiences.

This is book 2 in the Traveler series. I highly recommend reading the first book before this one so you get to appreciate the Travelers story. The author does an amazing job bringing this story to life with the descriptions of the world and the thoughts and feelings the Traveler experiences.
The Traveler is an ancient being who travels the universe. After each stasis period the Traveler becomes someone else and experiences life in a different way. When the Traveler awakens in this story he feels hope but that soon changes with the circumstances and experiences that the Traveler goes through. After feeling like a lifeless being for so long how will he cope in a living world. Not only that how will the Traveler cope with these overwhelming feelings of despair and helplessness.

This story is very deep and moving. You feel every emotion that the Traveler does which makes you feel so connected to the character.

What an amazing book! Just as much as the first book. Reading about Harry’s adventure with the cavepeople while he was “sleeping” was intriguing. I enjoyed the sociological touch to the story. Reading about Tristan waiting for Harry to wake and the time that passed (with it being so different) was cool because it is so different. The emotions can catch you just in the feels, like a roller coaster. The plot ran fairly smooth for being a time twist. It was easy to follow. The characters were interesting. Not really relatable but connectable, Harry was very easy to connect because he would help but try to stay invisible and not interfere. So worth reading. I would give it more than a 5 if I could. Highly recommend.

The Traveler: Book Two is the second instalment in The Traveler series by Deborah Dugan. As with the first book, it is a sci-fi fantasy with time travel, adventure, plenty of originality and imagination, tension, and intrigue- making for a highly creative read .
This is the second book in the series and follows The Traveler in their journey, so in saying that I highly recommend reading the first book in the series before starting on this one. The first book will help ground you in the storyline, as well as provide interesting and important details that will help enhance your reading experience of this book.
As we discovered in Book One, The Traveler is an ancient ‘being’ who has travelled the universe and has taken on various forms over the millennia’s, using these ‘experiences’ as a means to gaining knowledge and power.
I felt this second story was even more complex, impactful, and emotional than the first. I felt it also had a lot more depth and development than the first- the author has really found her groove with the story and character/s. I enjoyed the first book, but this second book is better still.
Another unique, interesting, and somewhat thought-provoking read.
Happy reading!

Thank you, Deborah Dugan!

This is the authors second book, and it is just as good as the first one. It is a Sci Fi fantasy story that Sci Fi fans will enjoy. The authors creative visual is unusually different and uniquely quirky and different, but it works. It is not just a story it is an experience. The tale is original, and it captivates it audience. The Traveler is a fascinating character. It is a timeless ancient being. This is imaginative storytelling whilst exploring a great unknown. Once again, her passion shines through for this genre in her writing.

I absolutely loved the previous novel, and this one was certainly no different. I loved the story in this one, the flow of the story was more heavier than the first one, but it made me really love it. I love this authors way of writing, she really brings the story to life, and really mesmerized the reader fully in body and mind.

The Traveler is a wonderful being, this one as I have said was heavier in the sense of the things he has gone in the previous vs this one. Things he is faced with and emotions behind them, really make you feel. As the Traveler did as well. it was not all candy and sugar canes. The story was real as it can get and you literally feel everything! His impact though on the characters he meets in the story were truly impacting as well. I found even more so in this one than the previous. The journey you take in this one with The Traveler is one beyond your imagination! Loved this one just as much as I did with the previous novel!

If you didn’t get the wonderful enjoyment of the previous book in the series, I do say you should look into it. I really loved this one, and I certainly highly recommend this book as well as the series to anyone that wants an out of this world adventure. And defiantly look up the author, their a high recommendation too!

It is an engaging, full of action, fast paced story that was hard to put down. I enjoyed how the characters brought the story to life. The Traveler is my favorite character as he is strong and I felt for him in parts. I enjoyed his growth as well as how supportive all the characters were to each other. This is a well written story that took me on a journey of challenges and a question of who you really are. This is a great story that I really enjoyed. I highly recommend this book.

When I first stumbled across this book, I was intrigued by the premise and wanted to know more. From the very beginning of the book, the author tosses the reader feet first into her world. She truly builds a world where the reader can picture exactly everything that is happening. There are so many questions and every time we find an answer more questions come up. This was an amazing story and it has a sequel I can’t wait to read!

So much happens in this story that you don’t know end game.
The traveler is this being that can take power over all.
But one human can be the savior or demise of man kind.
There are morals to this story that had me hooked.
By the end I did not know how to feel and I love it
So many different adventures go on in this story and I am telling you I may be addicted.
There is a book two and I cant wait.
Love the characters and the worlds that are created it is so creative and defined.

The Traveler is an exciting speculative fiction novel. I didn’t really know what to expect when I started it, just that I was intrigued, and can safely say I would never have anticipated what it would actually be like. Totally original, and captivating!
Tristan is very down-to-earth and likes things predictable and familiar. He likes to be able to make sense of things, and isn’t particularly fond of surprises. So when the Traveler turns up, he has a lot of questions. And concerns. And panic.
The Traveler is a fascinating creature, and the more I learnt the more I wanted to know. If you’ve ever been disappointed that aliens and fantasy creatures are often humanoid, this will satisfy your thirst for something different!
There’s something Douglas Adams-y in the tone of the story, and there are similarities between Tristan and Arthur Dent. So I would recommend this book to fans of wacky stories like that! And any fans of speculative fiction looking for something new and a bit different. I would not recommend it to arachnophobes, unless you’re working on exposure therapy…
This book gets five stars from me. There’s a sequel out soon which is definitely going on my tbr list! Can’t wait to read more of the Traveler’s adventures.

While I will admit that I am not normally a Sci-Fi reader this author definitely changed my mind with this book. Our author really knows how to grab ahold of her reader in the beginning and keep them on the edge of their seats while she takes them on a wild ride. The ebb and flow of this book and its plots were both equally beautiful and I loved all of the characters. But more then loving the characters I love how she takes us almost behind the scenes and really let’s us see what makes each character who they are. This story really has it all from the power of friendship, trust, survival and so much more I just simply couldn’t put it down. So if the beautiful cover and the blurb aren’t enough to make you read this amazing story, then I also highly recommend you pick up a copy today.

This was a unique Sci-fi fantasy story. It is a story like none that I have ever read before. The author did wonders with creating their own take on how first contact with extraterrestrial happened. There were a number of ways things could have gone in the story, but many times I found that my guesses for what would happen next was not right. I was left wanting to continue reading to know what would be happening next. Had I met the Traveler in the same way I would have had a totally different reaction than Tristan. I highly enjoyed this read. I am most definitely looking forward to continuing this series. This book drew me in and kept me wondering! I just wanted to keep reading to understand. Honestly, Tristan’s immediate reaction to Harry was much more mild than mine would have been. My roommate would have been dying laughing at me while I cried in a mixture of fear and confusion. I have to give this author kudos for just having such a knack for showing the world she’s designed with words in a way that makes me want to know if Harry has tried to talk to me and I had the aforementioned freakout and made him leave, or if she has just created this world that is like ours, but not.
