Winds of Fear (Fearless Series Book 3) by Gledé Browne Kabongo – Review by Erica Fish

Winds of Fear (Fearless Series #3)Winds of Fear by Glede Browne Kabongo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Winds of Fear is the third book in the Fearless Series by Gledé Browne Kabongo. This is the third book but it can be a stand alone. I did not read the first two books but believe me I am reading them for sure now. Kabongo promised a gripping thriller suspenseful story and I believe she delivered that promise. Her plot line had me guessing throughout the story. Her characters were complex and relatable. In this book, Abbie Rambally is going to school for her PhD. She lives with her husband and three children. Being that she is in school, her family is a little busy and keeps her on her toes. New neighbors move in next door, and Abbie is concerned about the attention that they are giving her oldest child. Too many things are happening to her family and those around them. What exactly is going on? Will Abbie be able to figure it out? Is there something more happening that meets the eye? It is such a great read I HIGHLY recommend this story.

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Scars (Book 2) by C. L. Schneider – Review by Erica Fish

Magic-Scars (The Crown of Stones, #2)Magic-Scars by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Magic-Scars is the second book in THe Crown of Stones trilogy by C.L. Scheider. I highly recommend reading the first book Magic-Price. That story will fill in the gaps so you have a better understanding of Ian Troy’s story. Schneider effortlessly continues the story with Ian. As the story goes on I am falling in love with Ian. His character has been through so much that I was feeling sorry for him. With everything he went through his magic addiction, in this story he is a prisoner for King Draken of Langor again. He is hopeless and his spirit is broken. He is trying to gain his momentum again. Will Ian get away from King Draken? Will he be able to assume his magic? What will happen to Ian? Keep reading to find out about what happens next to Ian.

What a brilliant read! This had everything and more! It had twists and turns throughout that had me completely captivated and had me turning the pages until the very end! It had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation and leaves you actually second-guessing all you know about your neighbours. It is a vivid read, that you can’t help but become invested in. This was a brilliant introduction to this author and I can’t wait to discover more.

Earl of Darby (Wicked Earls’ Club) (Once Upon A Widow Book 4) by Aubrey Wynne – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Earl of Darby (Wicked Earls' Club) (Once Upon A Widow Book 4)Earl of Darby (Wicked Earls’ Club) by Aubrey Wynne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Earl of Darby is the fourth book in Aubrey Wynne’s Once Upon A Widow series. It’s a historical romance with a bit of tragedy and mystery thrown in. The eponymous hero, Nicholas the Earl of Darby, is haunted by his fateful marriage that ended with his wife’s death on their wedding night. He is seeking revenge, struggling to trust any women after being lied to by his mother, and is generally a bit of a mess.
Hannah is more than a match for Nicholas and, when she is in danger of meeting a similar fate to his wife, his protective instincts kick in. With Hannah’s friendship with Nicholas’ young sister, Mattie, she is more than just a love interest and her character is developed and interesting.
Although part of a series, this book can work as a standalone. The series follows different characters in each book, with the characters then appearing as side characters in each other’s books. But if you enjoy this, you’ll love the others so you might as well read them! This one’s kind of a Christmas story but you could get away with reading it at other times of the year.
For me, this is a four star book. I’d recommend it to fans of regency stories, with a warning that it does feature rape and suicide.

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Borne (Book 3) by C. L. Schneider

5-Stars

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Borne (Book 3) by C. L. Schneider is the final book in this series. It’s an amazing conclusion to one of the best fantasy series I have read in a long time. It continues to feature Ian Troy as he travels into the past to correct wrongs and find a way to bring down his father. I love that Malaq and Jarryd continue to be present for this story. They have fun personalities and really seem to balance Ian’s character at times. Like the other books in this series there is a lot of action and build up to a well thought put climax. The story is easy to follow even though it is lengthy. Don’t let the length be daunting though because there is a lot packed into this novel. I really enjoyed this final book and loved the series. It is one of my favorite series now. I highly recommend it!

Hidden Obsession (An Alliance Agency Novel Book 2) by Maddie Wade & India Kells – Review by Karyn Taylor

Hidden Obsession (An Alliance Agency Novel #2)Hidden Obsession by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! The Alliance Agency Series by Maddie Wade and India Kells just keeps getting better and better. Hidden Obsession is Book 2 in the series (the third book if you add the prequel) and Maddie Wade and India Kells have totally blown me away with this book.
As with all books that both these authors have written, this book grabs you straight from the very first page and takes you on the most amazing journey before spitting you out at the end thinking WTF!! happened there.
This is the story of the Alliance Agency’s office manager Cleo Darwin and gorgeous British operative Mason Bentley. Both have been hiding their feeling towards each other for about a year but when Cleo’s life becomes threatened, Mason will do anything to save the woman he loves.
This story has some amazing twists and turns and I’d be shocked if anyone could see the outcome of this story coming. OMG I did not expect that outcome. This is an edge of your seat page turner. Amazing writing and storytelling from Maddie Wade and India Kells. No wonder both these ladies are high on my list of favourite authors. I honestly cannot wait to see what these ladies come up with next, either on their own or as more of this awesome series.

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Scars (Book 2) by C. L. Schneider

5-Stars

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Scars (Book 2) by C. L. Schneider is an amazing addition to this series. It is a continuation of the storyline that begins in book one and cannot be read as a standalone. Ian, Jarryd, Malaq, and many other characters are back in this exciting novel. The story was full of action, magic, friendship, and loyalty. Ian has no memory at the start of this book which made a huge difference in his character compared to the first novel. Things change as the storyline moves along though. I felt that the author did an excellent job pulling me in for an amazing climax with this story. Its length may seem daunting to some readers but so much is covered! I highly recommend it! It is so good and may be my favorite of the series.

Winds of Fear (Fearless Series Book 3) by Gledé Browne Kabongo. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it certainly won’t be my last. Its the 3rd book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Its the story of Abbie Rambally who is chugging along with normal single mom problems until she gets new neighbors. They are fascinated by her oldest son to the point of being weird. When Abbie’s loyal Nanny up and quits without giving her any notice her new neighbor Jenna is more than happy to take over. Abbie begins to suspect the Payne’s are hiding something huge and she feels like she might be in danger. This book is so amazing I can’t wait to go back and read the others. Winds of Fear (Fearless Series Book 3) by Gledé Browne Kabongo – Review by Shani Kenny

Winds of Fear (Fearless Series #3)Winds of Fear by Glede Browne Kabongo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this suspenseful, scary yet terribly entertaining psychological thriller, you’re thrust into the world of Abbie, a driven, determined, strong-willed, dedicated mother, and wife. She’s dedicated a good chunk of her life to making the best life for her family. One that includes furthering her education, a goal she’s held strong with for a long time. Now, with things on a good track she feels like she can breathe again. But all does not stay on that track when her past threatens to overtake her current reality and her future. It started out with small things like new neighbors, questions being thrown out to them, moments of unease as well as incidents that shake the foundation they’ve built. Then it all hits the fan and suddenly Abbie is fighting for the one thing she holds closest to her heart, her family.

An unexpected threat is trying to tear her world apart. The question is, can she defeat it and get her life back? For a woman who has survived the unthinkable, this is the biggest crisis of her life.

This book was so amazing! There were so many times that I racked my brain, questioning everything and everyone as I read. I’ve become a suspicious reader that makes me think about things on a whole other level with each story I read. For me, this was an exceptional winner! I was thrown around with each twist, various POV’s and the sheer determination of Abbie. It has been quite some time since I’ve read a thriller that was able to grab me from the beginning and hold my attention. With this book, not only was my attention caught but held steady! I found myself reading half the book in one sitting, not wanting to miss a thing! I loved every bit of this book. Even though it can be read as a standalone, I would suggest reading the other books leading up to this one for more history on the characters and their stories. I will be going back to read them myself very soon.

Burning Greed (DI Tanya Miller investigates Book 2)Burning Greed by Diane M. Dickson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

BURNING GREED: a gripping murder mystery, full of suspense by Diane Dickson is the second book in the DI Tanya Miller Investigates series. I had not read the first book and enjoyed this one immensely. This can be read as a standalone but I’m sure it is even better having the first book already read. Tanya Miller is up to her eyeballs with two cases. First is an arson investigation bringing out the worst about people. The second is her missing niece her sister is frantic to find. Can Tanya keep it all together and solve both cases?
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. The story kept me reading because I had to know what was going on between both cases. I also enjoyed Tanya and the secondary characters. This is a good read that kept me up late one night reading. I look forward to catching more from this author in the future.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow! Good Read! Even though this is a novella. There is a lot of story here. I enjoyed meeting these characters. The story takes me through ups and downs before giving me what I want. My only wish was that this was a bit longer on the backside. It seemed more abrupt when everything previous seemed to take its time.

Shane! I really felt for you. Just trying to be a nice guy and all. That didn’t work out too well for you. The music was an awesome detail and you are obviously very talented. I’m glad you found the connection in your song. Bekah! First off great name! I like your connection to the pack. I loved how once you realized who Shane was you were in his corner! Fighting for your man!

This can easily be read as a stand alone. Although Chase and Rain’s story is fun-food filled and their story might enhance your experience in this book. I enjoy this authors stories. She writes a nice all encompassing characters as well as the story.

This is book two in this series. It picks up where the first one ended. It is very important to read this series in order or you will have a hard time understanding everything and the connections between the characters. I really enjoyed this book much more than the first. In this book , the story continues and the plot thickens. The story progresses quite rapidly with so much happening. The growth and evolution of certain characters is amazing. Once again the author did a fantastic job of creating his world. The author is detail oriented which helps in these epic adventures. Certain things happen which I wasn’t too happy about but I realize they are vital to the story. There were certain hints that were dropped about what is yet to come. I’m very excited about reading the next part.

Testament of Feats: Book of Judgement Book One by K.H. Jones

Testament of Feats is an epic adventure fantasy series. Giants, Bards, Druids and demons fill the pages of this novel. Night Scream is a ranger for the Dogs Clan. Some of his fellow rangers have disappeared and during his patrols, he tries to find them. Scream is so much more than just a ranger. He is cursed with being the Jaw of his clan. He exacts justice for those that need it.

There is a malevolent force awakening and it wants Night Scream. Throughout the book Scream is being stalked, he feels it breathing down his neck in his nightmares. Falling into trouble several times, Night Scream fights to survive and figure out what is hunting him.

The author does an excellent job of creating the world these characters live in. The book was so intrinsically detailed that you could almost feel the frigid air biting your bare skin. At times I found the story a little long because of this but the story kept me interested. I want to know what happens. Will Scream find his friends? What evil is chasing him? I will definitely be reading part two.

Winds of Fear (Fearless Series Book 3) by Gledé Browne Kabongo – Review by Emma Chirgwin

Winds of Fear (Fearless Series #3)Winds of Fear by Glede Browne Kabongo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

From the very beginning Glede Browne Kabongo sets the scene of intrigue which makes the reader want to know more. Winds of Fear twist and turns with every page you read – just when you think you know what really happened to Lucas and who the Payne family really is, the author sends in a curve ball. By the end you realise that a mother’s instinct is never wrong and it a reminder to us all to listen to this little inner voice. This is the third book in a series about Abbie Cooper and while I haven’t read the others the author has done an excellent job of making it easy to understand events in Abbie’s life that have led us to this unthinkable situation. I am now looking forward to going back to the start of the series and re-introducing myself to Abbie Cooper.

Amy’s Santa (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Angela Hayes

Amy's Santa (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #1)Amy’s Santa by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amy’s Santa is the first book in the new Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation series by Manda Mellett. As the title alludes, this is a second generation series- following the children of characters we’ve come to know and love in the previous series. And even though you could read this book as a standalone, I recommend reading the previous series first- as a lot of background information, character details, and relationships are revealed in those books and knowing all that information will put you in a better position to understand and appreciate this book.
This is an MC romance story, and as such it is full of protective bikers, secrets, violence, pain, angst, banter, comradery, action, drama, emotion, sizzle, danger, suspense, and more.
After having loved the previous series soooo much, I had some pretty high expectations for this book/series, and I was so curious about this story, and the direction it would take us. So I jumped on it as soon as I saw it appear on my recommended book feed. Ms. Mellett definitely doesn’t disappoint. If you have been following Ms. Mellett’s previous series, or if you love a great MC story, then you will definitely want to read this book!
In this book we get to catch up with some of our favourites from the previous series and see what’s been going on at Satan’s Devils MC in the time we had not been privy to. But this book is essentially Amy and Drew’s story. Amy has loved Drew for as long as she can remember- but life got in the way and they headed in separate directions. Amy has come home for Christmas, a little broken- and with secrets she’s trying desperately to keep from being found out. Will fate finally bring these two together? What happens when secrets are revealed?
As I have said before, and as expected from Ms. Mellett- this book had a great plot, with surprising developments to keep things really interesting. But, again, it’s the characters who really make this story good- and the book (and previous series) definitely wouldn’t be the same without the cleverly crafted and complex individuals who whisk us along on their journey- making you believe in them, invest in them, and cheer them on the whole way though.

Thank you, Ms. Mellett!

BURNING GREED: a gripping murder mystery, full of suspense (DI Tanya Miller investigates Book 2) by Diane M. Dickson is a crime mystery story-where we follow DI Tanya Miller who investigates a horrible murder along with her team. I was a definitely frustrated with a few of the characters and I wanted to give them a good shake and sometimes a little something else. I felt that some of them didn’t have the development needed to make the story stronger but that may come in other books in the series.

With mayhem and mystery, drama and intrigue, and high strung emotions and the team striving to catch a killer gives a thriller feeling. I have not read this first book in this series but didn’t feel I was missing anything. It is a game of cat and mouse and a whodunit story with a side story of DI Millers family drama, her missing niece. The story is well thought out and is an intriguing read that certainly keeps you on your toes.

DI Miller is feeling the pressure when in the middle of a murder investigation her niece goes missing. Even though she is kept in the loop with the investigation but it’s not the same as being there. Will she find her niece before it’s too late? Will they be able to piece it all together before anyone else is murdered?

I look forward to seeing where the story goes.

I felt like I was in Meda’s shoes and was experiencing everything right along with her. At the beginning of the story, she wakes up a a beach with only the knowledge of her name. The Crown of Stones: Magic-Borne (Book 3) by C. L. Schneider – Review by Jonell Collins

Magic-Borne (The Crown of Stones, #3)Magic-Borne by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I must confess. After I read the second book of The Crown of Stones Trilogy I knew I was hooked. I had this one, The Crown of Stones: Magic-Borne by C.L. Schnieder standing by and I started it as soon as I finished Magic Scars and read it from cover to cover. Did not do anything else till I had finished the book. It was that good. From the beginning of Ian’s story and the tremendous guilt he carries, to the dawning of his realization of what his world needs, all things come to a climax in this last book of the series. If I was to boil it all down, I would say love and sacrifice is what this book is about. Truly outstanding. There are a few steamy scenes but nothing that distracts from the core of this story. I can’t say enough good things about this story. I will be reading it again and maybe a third time. This is a book you will add to your library and come back to. I am only disappointed that this book completes the trilogy. I am ready for more adventures with Ian Troy!

If you read Crown of Stones Magic Price then I know you are in line for this one. The Crown of Stones Magic Scars by C. L. Schneider was a stellar encounter. I was blown away by Magic Price but this second book in the trilogy has me hooked for good. The nearly unbearable guilt that Ian Troy has been burdened with sees a new direction in Magic Scars. You can see the struggles that our own society is going through in the pages of this book. To see a thing and know that it is good and feel such sorrow because others can’t or won’t see it. There are a few steamy scenes that may be uncomfortable but this is a story you must read. You have my word you will not be disappointed.

Even if you have not read Joined, this book will stand alone. It’s a wonderful story about an ever increasing love. Meda doesn’t know anything beyond her name. Who she is, or where she came from. Whatever her situation though she is a gal with a can-do attitude. Perseus, doesn’t know why but he feels drawn to her in spite of himself. This is a feel-good love story without the distractions of steamy situations. This one was a true treasure.

This is a great story! Full of action! I couldn’t wait to read this story. These two are so cute together! I love how Mason knows what he wants and finally decided to go after it. Cleo has other ideas…..no dating coworkers. Until a stalker shows up for Cleo. Everything changes after that.

Cleo is a stubborn, sarcastic, out-going violet haired girls with a different past. Mason is a clean cut, suit wearing, polite former secret service bodyguard. Complete opposites but man they have some HEAT between them.

I loved hanging out with this group again. Seeing everyone and getting a refresher of what they all do and how they work alone but still get along so well.

The cover of the book…look at it, look at it closely. It completely shows how this couple is together. They are in tune completely and feel everything. I loved their interactions and love they have for each other.

I can’t wait for this next one in this series. This crew is becoming like family.

We follow her on a quest to find out her past and have some great reading along the way.

I can’t wait to read more from Phoebe Alexander- you won’t want to miss a single one of her reads!
