I don’t want to give away anything but I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading many more books by this author.

In this second book of the series, Tallie is searching for a missing girl but doing so might bring up secrets from Tallies past. While I believe it is possible to read this book as a standalone, having not read the first book, I did feel like I was missing a few details about Tallie and her past. Missing those few details however did not take away from the overall story of the second book nor did it hurt the relatability of the characters. The author did a tremendous job of building relationships between characters while also giving twists and turns that were unpredictable. Great story, looking forward to reading book and more in the series.

Revenge Never Rests starts right where Secrets Never Die ends. Tallie Brown is trying to figure out herself (and her relationship with Jackson) with the revelation of her birth family from the last book. The story follows her in gaining a better understanding of herself while trying to find out the mystery of who is taking previous military personnel. Once her father is taken she is determined to find out who is behind it. All the clues are there for you to determine who is the mastermind. All questions are answered at the conclusion of this book and the ending is highly satisfying. I highly recommend reading this series!

Amaleigha is a back with her proven anything is possible attitude. Like the other book there are bright, colourful illustrations to hold children’s interest.

This story follows Amaleigha’s idea for her community. This book was fun and engaging and left the kids wanting more of Amaleigha.

This story is amazing… Tallie Brown is by far my favorite character yet. She’s been through trying times and as a strong female lead character, she fights with everything she has. Despite all of the hard life she was forced to lead, she makes the best of what she’s got. She uses her talents for good and keeps going.

I love how involved the author is with her military knowledge and the way that she conveys the story. Her acknowledgements are also heartfelt and I appreciate it so much. She did an amazing job and I look forward to reading more of her work.

This is the second book in the series by Byrd Nash. I was excited to read this after finishing the first so quickly. I enjoyed this one just as much. Delicious Death is the second book in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries series by Byrd Nash. This is another superb Gaslamp fantasy with cozy mystery, crime & investigation, ghosts, history, paranormal elements, the supernatural, a dark and moody atmosphere, intrigue, adventure, humour, and dramatic developments.
I loved the first book in this series, Ghost Talker, so there was never any question that I would be reading this as soon as it released. Ms. Nash proves again to be quite a talented author, bringing us another captivating instalment in this wonderful Gaslamp cozy mystery series.
Elinor Chalamet uses her mediumship skills to help solve puzzling mysteries. This time thwarting an assassination attempt but solving the case will keep her on her toes. A great, fun little historical whodunnit mystery. All cleverly woven into a Gaslamp fantasy with a period setting- which gave it an extra element of interest for me.
As with the first book, it is fresh, and fun- with wonderful characters and a moody atmosphere which gives the whole story added intrigue.
I am looking forward to seeing what Elinor gets up to in the next book/s.
Bring on Book #3!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Byrd Nash!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ghost Talker is the first book in the series by Byrd Nash. We begin by meeting Madame Elinor Chalamet. I very quickly fell in love with her character. She is confident, snarky, and takes charge. She can speak to ghosts and is whisked away to help the Duke de Archambeau, Tristan Fontaine. He comes off as snooty and not really believing her, even though he wanted her help. I loved how the relationship between them developed. I also liked how we get tidbits into other mysteries that may be solved in upcoming books! Definitely recommend this series and looking forward to the next book.

A historical romance novel – not my normal genre; however I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is the first novel I have read by this author and I found the attention to detail and descriptive prose leant itself to the authenticity of the period.

Laurel is 17, I cannot imagine living in that era with a husband at war.

A good read. Definitely worth picking up.

This was a book with constant twists and turns and so many surprises. Tallie Brown has finally learned who her real family is and is on a mission to meet the man that is her father when he goes missing. This is a fast paced page turner that instantly pulls you in. Each chapter follows and different characters perspective and it is very easy connecting with each one. I wasn’t expecting the ending but it made it all the more perfect.

The Daredevil: A Friends to Lovers Romance (WaterFyre Rising Book 2)

I found myself waking up in the middle of the night and spent about an hour reading so I could see what was happening. Definitely regretted that this morning. There is a little bit of everything. Mystery/suspense, friendship blooming and of course the mean girl.

Royce and Michelle are great individually and even better together, their dynamic is so electric which led to some pretty hot moments like the pool and waterfall. Wow!

There were so many little details that helped bring the story together for me. I was so happy with the healing and growth they both experienced on their journeys towards happiness.

I read the first book in this series and remember being impressed by the writing and how polished it was especially for her first release. I’m even more impressed now, there was no let down between the two books and as much as I enjoyed the last I think I liked Royce and Michelle more.

I’m so looking forward to the next books release. Can’t wait to see more from this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Revenge Never Rests is the second book in the Tallie Brown Suspense Series. I did read the first book so I felt that I had all the necessary backstory for this book. If you haven’t read the first book in the series (Secrets Never Die), I highly recommend doing so before diving into this one. Laurie Lewis continues Tallie’s story shortly after the events in the first book. There are several returning characters in this book and, again, Lewis delivers unusual yet realistic, humanized characters. This book follows Tallie in the search for her missing father, Cai Kaswell, along with several other missing persons. While this book has many twists and turns like the first book, I felt this one was a little faster paced, which I enjoyed. Overall, this book is on par, if not higher, than the first book! I look forward to reading more books by Laurie Lewis!

Laurie Lewis delivers an amazing suspense novel with Secrets Never Die. I was on the edge of my seat the entirety of the novel. While the characters were diverse and often unusual, they were realistic and believable. I found myself completely invested in and rooting for Tallie in her search for the answers regarding her past. The world building in Secrets Never Die is amazing. I felt like I was transported to small town Cutler’s Ridge and the surrounding mining communities. There are a lot of connections to follow, but it wasn’t too difficult. There were so many twists and turns, and changes in the story that it kept me interested and entertained in a way I haven’t been in a while. 5 Stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is a new author to me and I can say….I LOVED this book!! This story was such a fun read and I devoured it in one sitting. I could not get enough of Abi and Finn.

Trying to save face, Finn agrees to participate in a TV Reality show and marry a complete stranger. Finn is such a ladies man and player for sure, but trying to help his own image he decides with hesitation to “marry” Abi. All Finn needs is 3 months…..

Abi is a hard worker with multi jobs trying to help her sister Eva and has no time for any dating or meeting new people. When Eva and Abi’s best friend, Ros, plan up to have Abi apply to be part of this new reality show, Abi is hesitant…but then decides what does she have to lose. Will she meet her Mr. Right….

Can I say I love Abi and Finn together, their attraction is sizzling, even at first Finn being hot and cold…trying to keep Abi at an arms length and not get to close…I was rooting for them from page 1. Such a great contemporary romance that gave me all the feels of romance, banter and sizzle… and I am totally looking forward to reading more from this author for sure!!

This is the second book I have read by Laurie Lewis and is the second book in the Tallie Brown Suspense. A continuation of the first book Secrets Never Die, following the loss of her mother and learning about the secrets that sent her on the run for most of her life.
I enjoyed this fast-paced suspense book! A lot of the stuff in this book felt like it was ripped from today’s headlines. The action and intrigue really drew me in, and I found it hard to put down. It’s a race against time as Tallie Brown is trying to find her father whom she recently discovered and is now missing. One of the biggest twists of the first book is that her mother Julia wasn’t her biological mother and kidnapped her. Despite the dubious circumstances in which she was raised. Tallie learns of a missing girl that she uses the skills she learned while on the run with her mother to help find not only the missing girl but all the missing people. Tallie can thank Julia for everything she taught her about tracking, self-defense, etc. as it comes in handy as the story progresses.

Secrets Never DieSecrets Never Die by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Laurie Lewis. The synopsis drew me in but from page one I was hooked. At first, I was very confused on what was going on and honestly thought I started the 2nd book first by mistake.
It begins in Julia’s point of view, her being in 2014 but still running and hiding from the secrets of her past in 1993. Her one thing that she thought she could do, raising a normal child as a fugitive, until her name starts getting flagged and she receives a call from her handler. After seven seemingly normal years everything comes back in a rush leaving Tallie all alone with the mystery of who her mother was.
What is the Mogadishu incident? What does Julia have to do with it? Why have they been on the run most of Tallies’ life? The world that the author builds submerge the reader in the world. Drawing you into the story and wanting to keep reading to learn the secrets that led to Julia’s death. I made it through this book in one day and can’t wait to start the second book, Revenge Never Rests, to see what happens next in Tallie Brown’s story.

I had not had a chance to read book one yet, but book 2 definitely didn’t disappoint! Despite not having read book 1, I found book 2 to be a very enjoyable read and I was able to follow the story line quite well. I absolutely fell in love with all of the characters, even the Noisy Ghost. I love how independent both Elinor and Charlotte are and how quickly they are willing to jump into action, whether it’s to save a ghost, save a lady, or save the king. I also really enjoyed the relationship between Tristan Archambeau and Elinor, seeing our strong fearless heroine keeping the stoic duke on his toes is quite enjoyable. I am intrigued to see how the rest of the series goes and how they will continue to find each other in new situations. If you like humor along with a mystery twist, full of great characters, and red herrings all over, this is a great series to pick up!

Ghost Talker: Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries Volume 1 is the first book in a 6 part series. I have read other books by this author, and this did not disappoint. She also has to contend with Tristan Fontaine, duke de Archambeau, who is part of another investigation. I like her quick wit and sarcasm. I like the back-and-forth conversations with Tristan Fontaine. I love the setting and the story. This is a gaslamp fantasy with lots of interesting characters. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ladybugs for Loretta (Loretta’s Insects) by Lois Wickstrom. I loved this sweet book about Loretta who is a little girl who is very inquisitive and likes to check things out. She finds a bunch of ladybugs and decides that she is going to save them during the winter. Loretta and her mom decide to put them in the refrigerator so they can put them in their garden in the spring. The only problem with that is when they wake up they begin to make a huge mess in the house. They put them back in the fridge and wait until Spring then another problem occurs…they run out of room in the fridge. Finally its Spring and they can put them in their garden. This is such a fun, cute book and really informative as well. I didn’t realize all the stuff about Ladybugs that I learned in this book. Would make a great gift for the child in your life!
