This book is the sixth one in the series but can be read as a standalone. However, after reading this one, I can say for sure I will be going back to read the rest. This is a brillaint romance story with two characters that were easy to connect with. I lover watching their relationship develop over time. The story is one of my favourite kind of storylines. I got into the story quickly and easily and found it hard to put down. I wanted to know how things would turn out. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Ava is in a predicament due to no fault of her own. As luck will have it her brother owes King a lot of money. So King has her kidnapped to do with her whatever he pleases. Her brother is no saint so she knows she has to use her own wits to get herself out of this mess. I highly recommend this book. And can’t wait to read more from this author.

An enjoyable and entertaining story which had me hooked throughout. What appeared to be a simple Christmas romance novel turned out to be much more. The intriguing storyline was full of drama, suspense, creepy Elf’s and of course romance. Marcie Hayes is house sitting in the Pocono Mountains whilst she dog sits Ginger. Thinking this will be a simple job, she’s a bit confused by the owner’s instructions to take daily pictures of a rather creepy looking antique Christmas elf, but apparently they will be entered into the online ‘Big Busiest Christmas Elf Contest’. Meanwhile, Ted Barrett an Air Force fighter pilot and his dog Ace are also in the Pocono Mountains, whilst he sets up his new house. When Marcie and Ted meet whilst walking the dogs, they have instant chemistry and start dating. However, Ted then has to leave to go to his brother’s wedding, and he becomes concerned when Marcie stops answering his messages. When he returns he realises that she’s actually been taken but doesn’t know who would take her or why. Ted’s determined to find Marcie and he finds his first clue as to what happened to her, when Ginger attacks the creepy Elf. The characters and the setting were brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative, and I felt as though I was in the Pocono Mountains along with Ted and Marcie. The chemistry between them sizzled off the page and I loved how their relationship developed throughout the story. I found this to be a real page turner and one which I couldn’t put down.

I loved this contemporary romance novel, set in the Land Down Under! There is a lot of angst with a bit of mystery and some romance as well. This is a heartwarming story involving a teenager and her overly protective father, as well as a runaway. It’s sure to keep you engaged and I am already looking forward to another story by Jennifer Raines.

This is the 4th book of the series. Love this book. Curtis is in the band Canis Major. He just happens to wind up being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Is Lina able to save Curtis? Does their love survive the journey?

I really enjoyed reading this wonderful cozy mystery. Filled with so many great characters it’s a captivating read. Ivy is a fantastic lead character and I really look forward to reading more of her adventures. I have found this series at book 4 and I will now be happily going back and reading more. Just so you know my reading experience was in no way hindered by starting at book 4 so should you choose to do the same it will be OK but why just limit yourself to one book when you can read them all LOL.

This is the fourth book in the Maid Ivy Cozy Mysteries series. I hadn’t read the previous books in the series before stumbling upon this one and although there is some character background which I feel would have made a great story in the previous books, the story is still enjoyable as a standalone. This ended up being a short but fun read, an enjoyable cosy mystery that was both entertaining and easy to follow. The author created a fun collection of character who were all able to bring their own skills to the team. They were enjoyable and believable in their own ways, combined they were a quirky mystery solving team. I look forward to going back and reading the series from the beginning and getting more understanding of the characters and their previous adventures.

Another great read from this series. I can really imagine the authors target audience enjoying these books. They are a great length and would definitely engage the younger readers imagination. There’s lots going on in these stories but not too much to confuse readers, the story is easy to follow and understand. Lauren is a great main character and I can imagine young readers would engage with her and her friends. This book will certainly enhance a young readers imagination through the ghostly goings on.

A King So Savage (The Savage Duet) by April Moran . This is such a good, dark romance. This is the story of Ava who is just a good girl that gets used as a pawn in a debt. Ava’s parent’s died in a tragic accident leaving her and her brother on their own. Her brother has always been a mess and never a great brother to Ava. When he owes Kingston, a dark alpha male, money he gives him the only valuable thing he has, his sister, Ava. Ava is devastated her brother would do this to her. Kingston hasn’t made up his mind what he will do with Ava but he loves aggravating her. Her sassiness just makes her all the more desirable. Kingston gets some of what he wants from Ava and she goes from fighting him all the way to a puddle of goo in his hands. Feelings get involved and Ava finds herself doing things she never thought she would. Wanting things she never though she would. She will never forgive her brother for the mess he has her in. Amazing dark romance!

Renewed was a great read and I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the suspense that the author brought into the book, it definitely kept me engaged throughout. The characters were great to read about and were well developed. I really liked Ruby and Hayden, they seemed to have e genuine connection. Ruby was desperate to escape her past and I loved that Hayden stepped up to help protect her after she had helped to save his life. Ive not read anything by this author before but I really enjoyed her writing style so I’ll definitely be looking to read more from her and from this series.
Festive Fates: 11 Spirited Holiday Tales Anthology by SE Smith, Jill Wallace, Eliza Sinclair, Kyndra Hatch, Candace Colt, Natalie Palma, Winnie Winkle, Electra Gajdos, Stephanie Harrell, Pauline Baird Jones, Cassandra Chandler. This is an amazing anthology of Holiday romances, sci fi, paranormal, mystery and fantasy. They are so good and each one has its own story by they seem to fall in line as well. These stories revolve mainly around Christmas but there are some other holiday’s as well. These stories will for sure get you in the holiday mood. A couple of my favorite stories are Unwrapping the True Spirit by Electra Gajdos which is a story of finding the true meaning of Christmas. It follows the Keen family and all of their drama, pranks and family dynamics. Retired, but not Forgotten (A Madison Law Prequel) By: Natalie Palma. I loved this story. Its the story of Madison who is a retired detective and now a private investigator. She had to retire as a police detective due to medical reasons so she really wasn’t ready but has really enjoyed the Private Investigating gig. This is a short cozy mystery. Sunshine’s War by Jill Wallace. This is an amazing historical romance and I loved every word! If you need any help getting into the holiday spirit or just love a varied collection of stories this is the anthology for you!
Nice Suspenseful story! I was thrown off at the beginning but I realized that the author was setting the stage. It also made me become involved in the storyline and the characters. I was not surprised at anything that happened but that elf sure gave me the creeps! Not sure if I could stand that in the room either even unknowing as she was. The story has good flow and moves at a quick pace. It easily kept me turning pages until I got to the end.

This was a really intriguing and interesting read. I have read books by this author previously so thought I would give this one a go. The main character in the story, Andrea, is a ghost. It was actually a really thought provoking story and for Andrea it was about her looking back on her journey along with Coyote. The author really brings this characters story to life with her wonderful and engaging writing style. Her descriptive language was great as I was taken along with Andrea as she remembered her memories and brought them to life again. A really interesting read and one I would recommend.

Renewed (Fateful Justice Series) by Sara Vinduska. This is the 6th book in the Fateful Justice series and I loved it! It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them in order to get to know all the characters. Ruby is hiding from her past and her mean ex so when she finds a man on her front porch covered in snow she is leary. The last thing Hayden remembers is checking the fence in the back pasture and that’s all he remembers, how he ends up on this ladies house with a bandage he has no clue. There is also a winter storm so he is stuck at Ruby’s. Hayden finally gets better and the weather clears up for him to leave. He and Ruby exchange numbers and when she packs up to keep moving her ex breaks in and tries to kill her. She runs into the woods and calls Hayden to help her so he takes her back to his house. Neither Hayden or Ruby are looking for a relationship but their feelings are growing. Read this awesome book to find out if Ruby escapes her ex and if Hayden and Ruby make it work!
This is my first cozy mystery by this author. It reminded me of watching cozy mysteries on TV. Cute.

This is a first novel for the author. It was very well written and kept my interest. The author nailed it with a mix of history and fantasy that pulls the read right in. I enjoyed the characters – they all were important to the story line. I liked the idea of a young man finding himself – waking up feeling different and then embracing what is happening. Overall, this is a fantastic read for young adult/middle grades readers.

Starling migration, missing a Grandma, finding wings to fly. This is a beautifully written story. Something that is special about this book is the use of different fonts to show motion and definition in the book – it makes the reader feel the story in a different way than just the same font throughout. Another great Wickstrom book!
Luna is a cute puppy looking for her howl. This is a story about being different and not fitting in. It shows us that it just takes one person to believe in us to help us find out howls and our true friends. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is written in a way that any child/adult can connect with.

This book was not what I was expecting but I really enjoyed it. I was expecting a holiday romance and was confused at first about the antique elf but it all makes sense. There is a holiday romance and plenty of it however there is also danger, Suspense, a kidnapping, a stalker and plenty more. I was hooked from the beginning by the strange elf and the weird list of tasks it has to do and then things just got more and more strange.
Marcie Hayes has taken the job of dog/house sitter what she didn’t expect to be dealing with is a strange elf. When the home owner leaves her a list of tasks to do with the elf she thinks the owner is made. But that’s not the only strange thing. Why does she need to leave the key under the mat for the cleaning people? Just putting it down to the homeowners weirdness she set about her job of taking care of the dog and house. When she’s out one day she meets Ted Barrett and the connection is instant. As the couple get to know each other and start dating Ted has to leave for a family wedding but he’s happy that Marcie will be there when he returns.
Imagine his shock when she isn’t. Marcie has disappeared. When she finds herself kidnapped she preys that Ted will look for her. Will he look for her or will he just think she isn’t interested and not bother?
With the twists and turns, uncovering the reason why she was taken and by who and also the ancient Elf this is a festive story that will keep you gripped to the edge of your seat.
Finding the End Zone (Game Time Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson. I loved this contemporary, football romance. Its the story of Jamaica who is on scholarship and will do anything not to lose that scholarship. When she is paired with Callahan, the star football, to do a project she is determined she is not going to get swept up in his charm and good looks. Callahan doesn’t know what it is about Jamaica that is keeping him up at night because she is not his type at all. She knows nothing about the sport his loves and she is very uptight but she is all he can think about. When one of Callahan’s “stalker fans” tries to come between him and Jamaica he is mad. But when they threaten his NFL dreams and Jamaica’s scholarship he is livid. He will let nothing come in between his and Jamaica’s future. Will they be able to make a relationship work because the more time Jamaica spends with Callahan she sees a lot more than football and good looks. Such a good football, romance!

This is book 2 in a series – I admittedly did not read the first one before picking up this one. I still enjoyed this book very much, and I will be definitely jumping into the first one to get the full experience. The cover art is amazing and inside the covers did not disappoint, either. It was super easy to fall into Joey’s story and stay intrigued with all that’s going on. There’s a little bit for everyone – paranormal, action, suspense, etc. The story is addictive and the characters are vivid and come to life easily in this great world this author has made! I highly recommend this book, and I will venture a guess to say that this series is going to become a fast favorite! This is worth five stars in my book!

Lela’s Choice by Jennifer Raines. I loved this contemporary romance. Its the story of Lela who has always taken care of other people but she has decided its her time and she is going to focus on herself. The only problem is her niece and her boyfriend have run off and if Lela doesn’t find them before her father does it will be bad. Hamish is a widowed International child protection attorney and he has been asked by Lela’s dad to find his granddaughter. Lela see Hamish as the enemy at first but as they work together she begins to see the good side of him. Hamish is very skittish because his wife was killed by a ex client’s husband and he doesn’t want to put Lela in that position. Will they decide to take a chance on love even if it means putting each other at risk? Will the find Lela’s niece in time or will it be too late? Read this amazing contemporary romance to find out!

Renewed is the sixth book in the Fateful Justice Series. This is a Cowboy Romance with a bit of suspense added in. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely going to be going back to check out the other books in this series. This authors style of writing along with her creative yet developed and relatable characters make for a wonderful story. There’s plenty of drama, action, past secrets to keep you turning the pages till the end. This is a story about Ruby and Hayden. She wants a fresh start but what she didn’t expect was to have to save a man who was shot and found on her porch. Hayden works the family ranch and isn’t really looking for anyone. These two have serious chemistry that’s for sure. I don’t want to give to much away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Carrie’s Flight is the first book in the Grandma’s Closet’ series by Lois Wickstrom. It is an interesting story, with a bit of adventure, a touch of drama, and imagination. Grandma has some interesting things stored in her closet. What does Carrie find? I loved the cover illustration, but was a bit disappointed to find that the ‘inside’ illustrations are not the same type/style. The inner illustrations, although whimsical- don’t draw or hold your attention like the cover picture does. The cover picture made me want to find out what happens- but the others were a bit lacking- in my opinion. A cute story though. Hidden Scars is the first book in the Jade series by A. Akinosho. This is the first instalment in Naseer and Jade’s story- where two damaged souls find a connection that changes both their lives. With a bit of a forbidden element, an age gap, grumpy/sunshine factor, grief, drama, angst, different worlds/opposites attract, family/family complications/meddling, insecurities, jealousy, tension, pain/baggage, darker tones, secrets, and challenges. This had all the ingredients that I normally look for to drag me into a story and hold me in its grasp- but I just couldn’t find my ‘groove’ with this one. I also found it really hard to connect with the characters, which made it hard to immerse myself in their story, or invest in them and the outcome. I found myself really annoyed and frustrated with them, and myself- a lot. There seemed to be quite a lot of info dumping/repetition and niggly vibes that kept interrupting the flow of the story- continually pulling me out of the storyline. I have enjoyed Ms. Akinosho’s writing in the past, so maybe I was just having an ‘off’reading session this time around. The story ends on a cliffhanger, and is set to continue in Book #2- so I am hoping that things will fall into place for me there. Happy Reading…

The Magic Man is the third book in The Olympic Peninsula series by Cat Treadgold. It is another well-woven contemporary romance with interesting characters, family dynamics, emotion, drama, angst, complications, a bit of a love triangle element, interconnected characters, intrigue, and more. Here we meet David O’Connell who has arrived for his sister Teresa’s wedding (Teresa & Liam’s story ->’The Guardsman’ Book #2). His family notice that he isn’t the man he used to be- what is he hiding? What happened to him to make him so serious, subdued, and secretive? As the story unfolds the intrigue mounts, and when revelations are made, the story doesn’t let go. As with the first two instalments, Ms. Treadgold has woven a great story with complex characters, interesting developments, tension, and emotional touches- which made it really easy to connect with the characters, and completely invest in their story (but, that’s not to say there weren’t a few frustrating moments with them along the way). Alien Redemption by Gloria Oliver is a great, twisty, sci-fi adventure story with plenty of suspense, tension, drama, action, secrets, mystery, agendas/plots, high stakes, blackmail, betrayal, intrigue, emotion, discovery, challenges, space travel, new beginnings, and aliens. I was pulled into the story right from the beginning- reading the book in one sitting as I really needed to know how things would play out. There were twisty moments where I wasn’t sure where the story was headed, but in a great way- it had me avidly reading to find out what would happen next. I was invested in Claudia (‘Z’) right from the get-go, I really felt for her and the circumstances she found herself in- and was rooting for her the whole way through (and her new ‘friends’). Some of the characters made me angry- Captain Bennet in particular, and spent a considerable amount of time plotting Claudia’s revenge along the way. All in all- this turned out to be an intriguing and engrossing sci-fi story… Looking forward to whatever Ms. Oliver does next- hopefully more of ‘The Discoveries of Julia Xero’ series- but I know whatever she does will make for a fantastic read! Triple Threat at Amberwood is the fourth book in the Amberwood Hall Ballet School Adventures series by Eleanor Dixon. This book continues the ghostly adventures of Lauren (and Grace) at Amberwood Hall ballet school, whom we have met, and followed, from Book #1. This is another intriguing paranormal children’s story (missile school- ages 7 to 13) with ghosts, mystery, friendship, fun, drama, unexplained and troubling happenings, adventure, mischief/hijinks, high stakes, ticking clock, loyalty vs commitment, and a touch of the paranormal. Triple Trouble at Amberwood could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading right from the beginning to fully appreciate the story and characters. I have been enjoying following along on this charming adventure series since the beginning, and think was this is another great instalment to the Amberwood collection. Dreamscape J.J. Morris Book 2 By J.N. Sheats Review by: Susan Ratchford 5 Stars
The first thing that drew me to this book was how entrancing its cover art was. Once I started reading, I was happy to see that it was just as entrancing on the inside. Unfortunately, I did not read the first book in this series called Lineage and I will be remedying that shortly because I absolutely loved this book! Even though I didn’t read the first book, Dreamscape was pretty easy to follow as a stand alone. I found Joey’s character to be relatable and J.N. Sheats made it so easy to see her world through Joey’s eyes. Her writing is phenomenal and riveting with a plot that is intriguing and complex. Truly a wonderful thriller with all things paranormal! The J.J. Morris series is turning out to be a new favorite of mine! I cannot wait to read the first book to see how it all started!
To Catch an Elf appears to be the first book in a new series- Pennsylvania Fighter Pilot– by Debra Parmley. It is a romantic suspense with drama, challenges, a creepy factor, stalking, sinister intents, agendas, secrets, dramatic developments, K9 companions, an antique elf with a story to tell, abduction, connection, and more. This is Marcie Hayes and Ted Barrett’s story. Marcie has been hired to house sit, to look after a dog and document the activities of a strange elf for her employers to enter a Christmas competition. What happens when strange things start happening? Ted Barrett has a neighbouring home that he is looking forward to spending the holidays in for the first time. He and Macie seem to connect, but then she disappears while he is away for a family wedding. What happened? Things are not all as they seem. I think Ted is the twin brother of Jack from ‘Montana Marine’ – which is one of the Brotherhood Protector series stories. If so, in a way, this book/series could be a bit of a spin-off to that. In ‘Montana Marine’ though, Jack’s last name is Barr- not Barrett. So that made me a little confused. But all the other factors fit, like his fiancé being Lucy, the same as Ted’s brother’s fiancé in this book…. So, I think I am right about them being twins and the connection. Happy Reading!
