Forest Park: Logan Book 2 (The Logan McKenna Series)Forest Park: Logan Book 2 by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start by saying, I enjoyed that this book took me back in time to the start of Vietnam and back to present day but I thoroughly enjoyed how it all came to tie together in a smooth way. I love Logan’s inquisitive nature and how she finds herself in these situations to help others. The author makes Logan come off just as human as the women that we are in real life which made me continue reading this second book of this series. I also love a good mystery and suspenseful story as this book was to draw me in as it was written well but the adventure keeps me at a smooth pace as well.

Finding Ruth: A Daughter’s Quest to Discover Her Mother’s Past by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Faith Jackson

Finding RuthFinding Ruth by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book served as a love letter to the author’s mother’s life and it’s so beautifully written as she makes her mother human. A human and mother I could relate to. As a nurse, we know how the disease affects others but not quite sure how a person’s life was until we look into their life stories and this book paints a vivid picture Ruth left behind. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to take a trip back in time, especially women who want to know how to overcome so much while balancing being mothers and in relationships. Great read!

Better Than Goodbye (Venture Book 1)Better Than Goodbye by Kinney Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great story of a woman out to get her man back after making a career move she didn’t know would ruin her personal life. The way it unfolds, you can’t help feeling Amanda’s pain as she misses Kent in a bed alone miles away from him. You’re holding out just as much hope as she does in wanting them to come back together. I love a story that can keep us rooting for love rekindled between two characters who make up as much as you hate to see them break up or away from one another. This is just as entertaining and easy to read for the reader as it is romantic.

The author’s descriptions of music intertwine with the love story as it’s being developed into this magical story. These two characters steal your heart as they fall in like then in love with one another. Beautiful book that explores the love between the two of these amazing characters. Loved the way it was written and fell deeply for the characters and their love story.

This book is historically realistic and the writing captivated me from the very start. The mystery and suspense that takes a hold of this story and the paintings are all fascinating to be a part of as a third eye of the reader. I love a good mystery and a character that’s out to solve said mystery. I’m definitely looking out for the next of this series and where the characters will bring us next!

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge, #2)Falling for the Texan by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a modern day fairy tale. A good hometown love story. Set in Texas, opposites attract these two young people together. They complement one another in the best ways but both have goals of their own. Can their love endure a threatening past? Of course, I already know the answer as I’ve read the book but I loved how it turned out for these two and the way it was written alone makes your heart swoon.

Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense by KG Fletcher – Review by Faith Jackson

Love Song (A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense)Love Song by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a beautiful story and I love how it all comes into harmony as these two come together. Casey is a wild one who is picked up off her feet by Sam who shows up to give her an unpredictable love. What I love is they’re drawn to one another and are easily in harmony until she receives a scare. Sam is getting away to find peace in life but is coming to Casey’s aid to help save her sister but it’s so much more to the story that I don’t want to give it away. I’m a sucker for love stories like this, though because it shows there are real men of integrity in this world that will stop at nothing but to protect love at righteousness at all costs. Pick up this romantic story and you won’t be disappointed.

A Duke Never Forgets (The Duke Hunters Club Book 3) by Bianca Blythe – Review by Faith Jackson

A Duke Never Forgets (The Duke Hunters Club, #3)A Duke Never Forgets by Bianca Blythe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Witty as these characters’ sense of humor captivates the reader. Great world building as we see England in its heyday. Entertaining with what they have going around one another from the Duke almost drowning to how the family acts around him playing with and on his lapse of memory. Romantic because you can tell she’s getting a little too close to the pot if you catch my drift. The characters are wonderful in the most unexpected ways and their romance gets steamy as the story gets underway. This is a funny book that has a lot of quirks. I love these characters’ chemistry as they build from dislike to like to love as usual but there’s something about this one. It’s easy to read and understand but quite the page turner with the way it unveils. This book is worth my 5 star rating for all of the above and more!

The Trouble With Paradise (A Madeline Dawkins Mystery Book 4) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Faith Jackson

The Trouble with Paradise (Madeline Dawkins #4)The Trouble with Paradise by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Madeline’s cases continue to get even more interesting as she’s attempting to solve two which seem to be at the same time, assisting two different widows in two very different scenarios. Madeline’s ex is out of prison and needs Madeline’s own partner to help clear his name. As the two cases coincide with one another, Madeline must figure out both simultaneously. I can’t help but love Mike and Madeline’s relationship even if it is a power duo saving the world but it would be better if they become official as a couple. Just me wishful thinking on where I hope their story goes because I’ve enjoyed every book’s installment so far so this one is no exception.

The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance)The Debt Collector by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You cannot help but get divulged in a book like this. The whole thing has your heart racing chapter after chapter! I’m sorry to get so excited but this doctor is a true heroine! She is that one you get caught up in and knows she’s the “it” (excuse my French) and for a great cause but this book goes deeper!
As the doctor means well to save the girls, she’s caught up in a trap of manipulation at every turn: She knows better with all her fancy education but lust keeps screaming her name and her body is betraying her mind. The truth is behind the savagery she has to go through for answers. Is she really ready to risk it all? The choice is up to the doctor and her quest for answers.
This book is filled with everything I love: A mystery, sexual chemistry, lust, desire, and suspense. I was all in reading this one! I couldn’t help it — I highly recommend it as India Kells is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Anything I see with her name, I can’t put down and this book was absolutely no exception. So, pick up your copy and you won’t be disappointed.

Trey: European Redemption (Russian Mob Chronicles Book 7)Trey: European Redemption by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is one of the grittiest I’ve read in awhile. I didn’t enjoy how graphic Kristina’s life was prior to meeting Trey but at least she kept a decent head on her shoulders to move away from all of the pain she endured. I love the way they not only loved one another but sought out to heal one another’s wounds after a worse past that could’ve taken the both of them down but in different ways. This is a sweet book about resilience, determination and the sweetest love that one can experience. We have to remember the characters are also human but as we all are, they are also flawed but in the best ways possible.

The Walls Between Us: A Borderland Love StoryThe Walls Between Us: A Borderland Love Story by Kate McGahan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is told through two characters’ eyes and how different their opinions vary from life to politics. Circumstances allow both characters to see their situation at hand in different lights but I loved this book because all tied together from the characters to the scenes themselves. This allowed me to enjoy it that much more. The story itself is multifaceted in various ways that allow any and all readers to join in enjoying where the story takes them. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this book as I find it educational from social, injustice and emotional facets but it all works out in the readers’ favor with the way it all makes a turn for the positive. One of the best educational and fascinating reads I’ve seen in a long time. Beautifully written by this great and compelling author.

The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul Remembers by Stuart Ledwith – Review by Faith Jackson

The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul RemembersThe Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul Remembers by Stuart Ledwith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was heartbreaking from the first sentence to the last. Following her journey was harrowing to say the least. You can never believe how, I wouldn’t say, “bad” (or better off you are in your life) someone else’s life until you’ve heard someone else’s experience. This is such the case with this book.
This book shook me to the core but also showed that there is some compassion with the way that Sarah’s husband saved her in a way. When you take this view through Sarah’s soul’s eye, you’ll realize it was unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before from her abduction through Quebec to Canada, her story of love in a losing situation, but protected by a nunship to later become a healer but it taught her life lessons and experiences her soul just can’t shake.
Reading her story, your soul will thank you as you learn to be grateful for the life you have no matter your background. This one grips you through the good and the bad of this story but with hope for a future in just a glimpse into Sarah’s life in this journey called life.

Lady Isra is witty, funny and unpredictable in her quests with Astrid, the raven, at her side. This is great world building by the author. Action-packed as we discovers what makes her her and easy to read as well. Great book to start!

This is one true love story in an unlikely pairing. The couple, the male and female, are drawn to one another but choose to deny their initial attraction. The male wants to run from his feelings of fear of being shut down and the woman is ill-trusting after a difficult breakup. The more they spend time with one another, the more their mutual attraction brings them closer together.
This is a beautiful story, perfect scenery and perfect characters to bring it altogether. I absolutely love how everything ties together, especially bringing the best characters together, beautiful descriptions of the world around the characters, steamy and seductive scenes with beautiful characters. I loved this!

A Divided Mind (The Divided Series Book 1) by M. Billiter with Kyle Thomas – Review by Faith Jackson

A Divided Mind (The Divided Series Book 1)A Divided Mind by M. Billiter

This book is seen through different characters’ perspectives and it’s also a journey for the mom and for one of her sons’, Branson. We follow as Branson struggles with a new diagnosis of schizophrenia but also struggles to balance a girlfriend, life as a twin brother but a sibling to Carson, his sister and being a high school senior preparing for college. This whole book had me feeling for poor little Branson and how his life wouldn’t be the same as he ventures into the world battling so much for the rest of his life as he goes on. This is a beautifully written story of mental illness and how it impacts your world from every which way you can ever imagine. Great and intense read!

The Divided Twin (The Divided Series Book 2) by M. Billiter with Kyle Thomas – Review by Faith Jackson

The Divided TwinThe Divided Twin by M. Billiter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I fell in love with these twins’ stories when I first read about what happened with Branson and I felt he was not only misunderstood. My heart ached for him as I got through that first read. Coming from a family where mental illness is present, that book had me hooked just as much as the second.
When you meet both twins, who are away at separate colleges in different states, no less but you’re concerned with Branson who has to fight schizophrenia. You’re concerned with what Tara’s sickness can do for his mental health and how it will create new choices for both twins.
I loved how this book was written as much as the first. You also find each brother battling their own emotions in their own ways when they’re hit unexpectedly with a life-altering illness like cancer. This story had my heart aching for the twins as they’re going through the grieving process with one another and battling crippling mental illness all at once. You can’t help but want to jump through the pages of the book to help the characters on their way to survive it all but you can’t which leaves you feeling helpless and upset at a fictional book. Great read and well-written.

This is a very descriptive book that grips you with the way Tasha dreams and in such detail. The way the author approaches the subjects of dreams and it’s so beautifully written by the author. You can’t help but want to save Tasha from the grips of these dreams and the bigot boss in them but there is a hold that won’t let loose. I loved that about this book because it’s so emotionally driven as well. These characters are lovable, their stories entwined is intense; such intensity that it seems scary, twisted but mysterious, original and entertaining. The truth is this is so much of a page turner and very easy to read.

The Widow: A Dark Romantic FantasyThe Widow: A Dark Romantic Fantasy by Naomi Valkyrie

This book drew me in because I could relate to the character, Vashti’s pain of growing weary of the world around her of loneliness and grief. No, I’m not a widow but I’ve been there where I’ve experienced both emotions but I loved where this book took the reader. The lives of the main two characters are disrupted with the entrance of another character who brings drama into their fold and their privacy is shifted but also to where it leads to unexpected changes that force their lives to take on drastically as it all unfolds. I hope this is the start of a series because the mystery captured my attention because you wanted to know more. The suspense kept me tuned in till the end to read it.

I loved how beautifully this is written by the author. Kudos on a great book! I loved how romantic everything in life never is for these characters that come together to save one another. Love always prevails as they attempt to help one another heal not only from life’s circumstances for them but this couple manages to overcome it to not only become better people but a better couple as well.
What’s not only entertaining but also inspiring is how well it’s written but the wonderful characters are the way they come together for one another almost at the perfect time in their lives. This is a happily-ever-after love story that’s easy to read and a great page turner.

This is one of the best paranormal fantasy reads I’ve read in awhile. Gabriella is what makes this book one of the best because as you get compelled further into the story, you see what all she’s battling and you quickly find out why she’s “blessed” by powers that are higher than who she is. As Gabriella is ready to escape her destiny at the academy, a handsome commander is keeping her interest. The truth is, she knows how important it is to hide her identity and what she possesses to protect herself from the fallen angels. I love the ups, downs, twists and turns this book brings the reader on through Hani’s eyes as an Egyptian diplomat. Prepare to have your boots knocked off with the mystery and intrigue of this suspenseful read. This book involves the best that mysteries have to offer including everything you can imagine. No matter how high this unfolds for him, he’s prepared to take down whoever or whatever is in his way. My heart raced reading every line of this book and where it would take Hani to solve the mysteries that were laid out before him.
This book has everything you could want in one of its caliber: Twists, turns, tragedies, great descriptions of Egypt including Syria, easy to read, fun to read, entertaining, and full of action. Excellent read!

This is a cute story with cute characters and the dogs are an added bonus. You can’t help but want them to overcome their obstacles and choose love over misery. You know I can’t help but fall for the books or movies like these where a love story appears out of nowhere with two unexpected characters. The dogs are just as much a part of the story as the characters are which makes you happy. The mystery of whether their love can pass the test of time is another question which leaves you wondering. I loved this amazing book!
