Bookworm Beck O’Rourke and her grandmother live a picturesque life above a bookstore/coffee shop in Manatee Beach, Florida. Lizzie, Beck’s younger lifeguard sister, lives with the two. As Beck is set to host a book signing with one of the finest mystery book writers, an audience member is murdered. Beck is thrown in the forefront to pursue her detective chops to the test as she’s on a trail to catch that murderer. As she’s got her suspects lined up, the murderer is none too pleased about Beck’s involvement but neither is an old flame of Beck’s, a new police detective. This is a book with wonderful characters, great scenic detail for great world building, a pinch of romance with Beck and her ex plus the suspense of the mystery.

12 year old Grace can see ghosts, lots of them along with her best friend, a cat named Midnight. After hundreds of years, she’s the only person with this secret ability to view ghosts in Tansy, her hometown. She loves her ability, the ghosts she’s befriended and would prefer their company to those of the cliques at school. The ghosts soon unveil to Grace a hidden centuries old secret that the town is cursed unless Grace can do something to change it. 300 years ago, a witch cursed every person to set foot in her town, made them ghosts and Grace is down for the cause. Grace soon unveils the truth her family hid for generations and a world a magic that surrounds her. Will time repeat itself with the curse happening to a new generation or will Grace lose all her ghost friends to break the curse? I love the beautiful back story of the ghosts, the curse and I fell in love with Grace from the beginning. She’s so sweet and her personality is adorable. Great read!

Vi, a fire witch and Aiden, a fire shifter are caught up in a game of tug of war. Vi knows she has changes coming that threaten her coven because life hasn’t been easy for her. I’ve loved this book from the beginning. I’ve been two books in before receiving this copy of the trilogy. I’m ecstatic as Bryer and Nathan are walking down the aisle as we’re the guests of honor. As the reader, you’re more than beyond happy for the couple but there are evil forces working to tear them apart. This threatens their forever but will they allow this to deter them from moving forward as husband and wife? This book is most definitely unpredictable because we all know what it’s like to be knocked off your feet not only by love but by the others that surround us as well. So, in that sense, this one is really original and realistic. As to not give away any spoilers, I’ll keep the intrigue going by not giving away spoilers. It wouldn’t do me any justice to not recommend this book. Beautiful!

This book is a beautiful and unexpected read that turns out innocent but forever changes the direction of the character’s lives as they know it. Bailey Walker and Cooper Christie have a playful attraction to one another but it’s also a slight rival. Cooper drives Bailey mad with the things he does to her from breaking her cell and stealing her bra. The truth is they like each other but when they find out their parents are engaged, what does this mean for them and their attraction? This taboo tale will lead you down unexpected paths. This book is such a crazy ride you can’t help but be obsessed to see where it turns. Pick up this one and get ready to go on a journey unlike any other.

Manda Mellett most definitely has a knack for writing the most powerful stories through each and every one of these books. These books stay true to the real world that you can hardly tell that you’re reading a book. They all grip your attention so much so that it should be a movie or few. I love the way Manda Mellett writes because it offers different perspectives and opens your eyes to different outlooks on lives. Great work! In “Turning Wheels,” we meet the guys of the MC and Sophie, a disabled Englishwoman battling inner insecurities and external forces to get her. Frightened, wheelchair bound, Sophie turns to the club to protect her from those out to get her. Wraith, the club’s vice president, is out to show Sophie she’s more than defined by her disability but other than protecting her, he has to help her overcome her past. This is a beautiful book. In the second book, “Drummer’s Beat,” this action-packed book will keep you on the edge of your toes. President of Satan’s Devils, Drummer has been unlucky in love but that is until he meets Sam on the side of the road. He doesn’t believe Sam as she’s on a search to find her biological dad who happens to be a member of his very own club. It’s a race against time as Sam gets abducted into a sex trafficking ring to rescue the girl of his dreams. This one will keep you hooked as the romance is steamy and the action is packed. In the third book, “Slick Running,” we find Ella who used to do favors for the club in her past, found love in the club with Slick but had to leave him behind. When Slick realizes he needs help, he refuses to help her because he’s not ready to forgive. The club owes her and is down to help even Slick who is eager to help as they’re all on a quest to rescue her baby sister from a child grooming ring. This book has it all and it will leave you praying and hoping for the best. I enjoy how Manda Mellett makes every story not only original but true to life. In the fourth book, “Targeting Dart,” Dart wants to pursue a curvaceous black girl but as she’s preoccupied with her sick loved one of a kid, he can only offer his supporting friendship. Dart’s feelings are put to the test when her violent ex but Dart has to take on unexpected responsibilities with her and also within the club. This book tugs on your heart in a lot of ways as you feel for both characters. I enjoyed the tug of war it had on my emotions and was excited about this read! In the final book, “Heart Broken,” we meet Heart who is devastated by his wife’s death as he contemplates ending his life to reunite with his wife. That is until one person reached out to save him by relating to his emotional plight but as months pass, Heart regains the strength to survive through this cop but their love is taboo as far as the club goes. This was a romantic book that makes you believe in life and love. Beautifully written. In each and every book, Manda Mallatt manages to write with intent, such beautiful intent that she captivates her readers. I’ve enjoyed everything she’s written. Great writer! Brava!

This book is one steamy read I could not wait to get my hands on! When I tell you just from the summary alone, I was hooked but once I actually started reading, I could not put it down. Seemed like I was obsessed to finish reading it just to write this review! Jax Hunt is a disabled young man who is itching to make some changes in his life. He loves his career but it’s not what he dreamed it’d be. His friends are his ride-or-dies and an understanding family. Jax has a lot to prove to himself but wants to show the world what he can do. Lennox Austin walks into his life where she notices him. As much as he wants to prove himself, Lennox’ brother is the only thing in Jax’ way but Jax eyes are on the prize that is Jax. Will Jax accomplish what he’s setting out to do or will he fold under pressure? This book did not disappoint in the least! Pick up and be entertained in multiple ways; you won’t regret it.

This book was interesting from start to finish. It leads you down unexpected paths as you are seen through Friday’s lens. She’s in a reality show involving superheroes at a high-powered high school. In a fellowship where stardom is all around them as they come into their own as the champions they are. Conquerors are all around them rescuing others around the clock. Captain Fantastic leads the famous heroes. Friday and Jake are both childhood friends who are recruited to be next in line to combat evil forces to save their world from destruction. Returning from the abyss, Doctor Dangerous and the Figure in the Flames, Captain Fantastic faces the ultimate betrayal. Up against major forces including her childhood friends and believing in Doctor Dangerous, Friday must make a dire choice that could catapult her into stardom and rise above as the hero she is. This beautiful world building trilogy keeps you on your toes and to a place you’d never imagined. These characters are lovable and worth the read as we go on an awesome adventure with them through every book. I’ve loved these books from the author. Fantastic reads!

From start to finish, I enjoyed each story. Each one a different take on the classic tales. So many conversations could be sparked following each one. You wouldn’t expect romance, child abuse, mental illness, etc. to be in a series like this but it was such a pleasant surprise to read. Thank heavens I enjoy being scared too, LOL, because some invoke fear in you and also a sweeter side to the series as well. I loved it!
Crystal Brooke just received heartbreaking news and has now found a new lease on life. She’s on an adventure to support her best friend getting married but on the search for a rendezvous, a romp in the sheets, if you will. She creates a tangled web when her new fling is someone totally unexpected. Spencer is on the prowl for the same thing Crystal is but has crushed on one of his best friends for awhile. He’s eager for Crystal to see him differently than who he has been. Will Spencer succeed in taming Crystal or will Crystal’s battle for her life run him away? This book is heartbreaking yet fun to read. Love conquers all and this is well worth the emotional journey we take with these characters through their ride. I loved it from cover to cover.

Practically-minded, brutally honest, Carol Winters is at the peak of her career and for the most part has avoided relationships by her own default. Her boundaries are tested when she’s chosen as lead designer for Calderone Industries and must work with the bosses’ son. He’s creative and handsome but he’s intervening with her work. Charles Calderone is an expert at the finer things in life but doesn’t want to settle for just a job when his knowledge expands further than just that. Being VP at the family’s firm is challenging (to say the least) but he’s got his sights on an architect. As she is gorgeous and gifted, but she annoys the hell out of him by bugging him to consult on every design decision! The more heated their arguments get, the more they learn to like one another but their worlds entwine sooner than later. They have to wiggle through their madness to find common ground but will they? Or will both their careers be lost because of this? I found that this book was sweet, romantic and unpredictable. The tit for tat battle these two create for themselves make the book playful. Their work relations make it more adult and I found it very intriguing to read. I loved this pleasant read!

As a fan of the first book, I love the way Nathan and Bryer love each other. I think they’re together for a greater reason than even they can even know about. They’ve taken the time to establish their foundation and cement their love. I hated Cash for trying to come through and break them up. This book will have you praying Bryer sees through just how arrogant and pompous Cash is and lives happily ever after with Nathan. Great read — wonderful characters, romantic and entertaining.

These books are kickass! I’m obsessed with Cynthia Hamilton’s writing in the way she captures Madeline’s life. Performing two jobs at the same time, private eye and event coordinator, Madeline is at a weekend-long birthday party for a movie director’s wife when she must track down not only the family’s jewels but also track down a murderer. Madeline works beside the local police department where she finds there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to her clients. If that’s not enough, Madeline’s old abductor was released after striking a deal with the feds. Lionel Usherwood is on the path for revenge, if she doesn’t have enough on her plate as it is as Lionel already killed Rick Yeoman but now Lionel is out for Madeline’s blood next. This book is filled with mystery, action, and suspense all in one! Great read: Original story, entertaining, and realistic.

Leah Marcus was a 17-yr-old wealthy, white, Jew descendant with a well-off family. She was a piano prodigy and aspiring pediatric neurosurgeon. Damon Allbright, all-star football who had a beautiful singing voice in the church’s choir as pastor’s son of one of Cincinnati’s biggest churches. Leah was brutally killed during the 2001 race riots. Her death had a profound effect on the city during the summer and spring of that year. Suspicion fell on Leah’s boyfriend and matters turn worse when the cops find Leah’s DNA on Damon pinning the rape and homicide squarely on him. Sexism, classism and racism all play a role in Damon’s trial. Local crime reporter of the Cincinnati Tribune decides to re-investigate the trial and discover the truth of the heinous crime. I always enjoy a good read of true crime, mystery and unraveling of a character’s life. This book is no different as it has multiple layers. This is a gut-wrenching read considering what happened to Leah but to have her boyfriend accused is what breaks your heart as well. When I read or witness things like this in reality, we want justice to be served but not every time we get it. This is by far one of the best books that’s captured my imagination!

This is an exciting read full of action and crime taking you to a world similar to our own but with a twist. A reporter is on the bend to help the city overcome drugs. There’s also a guy called Vigilante issuing his own dose of justice to those perps but he’s been using Orla Karlsen, the reporter, to get the info he needs to prevail. The two must work together to dismantle the dishonesty, influence and viciousness. The more Orla learns about the man behind the mask, the more she wants to help him. As she realizes his true intentions for the love of the city, she waivors her past assumptions. Allegiances and aspirations are challenged when they give into the unquestionable temptation of one another as they can’t fight how they feel. Orla has given her heart and body to Vigilante but fights to gain his assurance. There’s so much on the line as Vigilante doesn’t know what to trust — the bond he created with her or to protect his own secrets by sacrificing her? This was a great read with steamy scenes and action that keeps your heart racing. The mystery of which way Vigilante will turn will keep the suspense pounding.

Envision you have the perfect life: Cash, top spot, power, an attractive union but you wake up all by your lonesome, naked, hungover with no memory of how you got there. This is Madeline’s life: Madeline is living her fantasy life with a stunning and fortunate husband with the dream home atop of Santa Barbara, she can afford anything she can imagine. Her life is beyond great until her life begins to unravel in a single night. Madeline’s husband, Steven believes she’s cheating but in a rage to prove her innocence, she stumbles on the person out to destroy her life. This will send her down the road of extortion, obstruction, and trickery. Hoping to be free of blame, she accidentally stumbles on the truth as she uncovers her secret rival. After such devastation, Madeline breaks down, goes back to her maiden name of Madeline Dawkins in order to repair her life. She rediscovers who she is, what she brings to the table and where her true self lies. Books like this one inspire women to rediscover our own individuality outside of a man and I find it empowering! Very original and entertaining.

He believes he fell for her after one night. From her laugh to her smile and her touch or the way she moaned in his ear. Can he find her and get her without going too deep? This is a beautiful, sensual read that will have you craving for more. You can’t help but get attached to the characters and figure out where their journey is gonna take them.

The more I read Tricia Copeland, the more she’s becoming my favorite author. She has a way of telling stories that capture your imagination or stir deeply within you. This science fiction read is no different. In this read, that’s completely different from any other books by the same author, we find 16-yr-old Jema, a teen fugitive marked runaway who exposed a DNA based deadly virus, she and her allies are being hunted by her menacing uncle. Until she can put pressure on him to release the antidote, the world will be at risk. Subjected to fighting like soldiers in a desert island, Jema seeks out those who’ll take pity on the group in an effort to help them but their supplies are being depleted at every turn for the teen and her allies, it’s a fatal trek to escape. Can Jema heal the public territory before the world sinks into the abyss? Great read again from Tricia Copeland as it’s full of action, bravery, and time-pacing to surely have your heart racing!

These small town romance novels are a hidden treasure as they’re always so beautifully written and quite steamy to read. Set in the small town of Green Springs, Mississippi where the times heat up moment by moment. In this steamy read, we follow characters, Meg and Drew. Meg who is heartbroken and grief-stricken, not once but twice, she becomes a nomad as she’s running from her past until she lands in Green Springs. In Lee County, Drew has failed at his desired path of a football star on the rise. Now that he’s set into his comfortable country life, here comes Meg who comes along to shake his world up. Drew can sense the pain on Meg but will she let him unravel what she’s been through? Can Meg stay in one place long enough for Drew to help her? Should Drew be strong enough to release her? I think this is one of the best stories I’ve read in a minute. I’m a sucker for a love story and an even more sucker for healing of any kind. This is a beautiful read and you’ll love how this one turns out.

Kat’s life is in chaos. Earth is in the clutches of an unknown entity when another ill-fated scenario is being uncovered. Meanwhile, Bran, the deity she loves, has taken off to the Outerworld but hasn’t returned. A sip from the vessel of intelligence and influence should have given her something to work with, but whatever she’s learned has left her memory or she never tried to take it in. As anarchy emanates around her, Kat sways from place to place, she becomes lost in her ability to switch from her sea of disbelief. Her inevitability lies in symmetry but balance. Fate takes hold and adjusts it. As her recollection is snatched, the threads that held them together seem to resolve. The fairy is equipped to help her but are their intentions honorable? Her life is about to adjust but if she isn’t thorough, she’s gonna lose herself in the process. This book is a beautiful book with great world building as it’s unpredictable with great characters. It’s also whimsical and entertaining in the best of ways. Original and easy to read, it’s quite the page-turner!

When a crime scene photo breaks the Internet, an admirer turns pursuer, but how far will one FBI proxy go to rescue her loved ones. FBI Special Agent Libby Irish seeks validation by outsmarting her male counterparts on the job. After unraveling a weapons ring, she finally believes she’s gonna get her due. That is until a revealing picture of her in front of the arsenal goes viral and she’s under the media’s radar but puts her as a joke to her fellow coworkers. If that’s not enough, Libby is receiving random letters from a secret admirer, an untamed cat attacked her plus someone has been sneaking into her house repositioning everything in there. That’s enough to make any girl go insane. All the while speculates her gorgeous but lunatic of a next door neighbor. When devastation hits his home, he lends a helping hand to help the agent find her pursuer but she winds up seeing there’s more to her neighbor than meets the eye. Once the stalker becomes more audacious, the two must work diligently to destroy him before it takes a dangerous turn. This book will most definitely keep you on your toes with the twists, turns and unexpected plus romance along the way. This is the third of this standalone series that will keep you hooked on this mysterious collection. I say collection because none of these books leave you without wanting more. Great reads, every single one because you can’t pick up one without starting another.
