This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed it from beginning to end and I look forward to reading more from them. I enjoyed how well written this story is. It is easy flowing and understandable. I also found it to be engaging and fast paced. The characters bring the story to life with epic fantasy action. I had no problems connecting to them. This is a story about Grant. He has been labeled an outlaw because of learning to use a sword. Now fate has some other things in store for him. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what the fates have for him. He made a great character that kept me reading just to find out what happened next. He is strong and handsome to boot. This made a great afternoon read and I was happy I picked it up.

This the second book in the series and I highly recommend reading the first book in the series. This will provide you with the back story and introduce the characters. The description is a fantasy genre but it has many more elements in the story. There is sci-fi, danger, responsibility, secrets, tension, romance and magic to name a few. When the author has a vivid imagination, it makes the story come to life. It is what holds my attention from the very first page until the last page. Character building and relations also keeps the book interesting. In this particular story, I enjoyed the roller coaster ride I took with Xenobia. Xenobia’s storyline continues in book two. She is getting into every bit of trouble, not by her doing but by shadows she does not realize they are around. Danger is present and there is a crisis in the House of Valdis. There is drama and adventure around every corner. I will leave the review with this keep your mind totally open and the images will come to you. Enjoy the series and I cannot wait until the next book.

It Comes From Within by Naomi Valkyrie is the second book in the House Valdis series. I highly recommend reading the first book before this because most of the characters are introduced there. This is a multi-faceted and complex fantasy book. The characters, especially Xenobia, are really deep and interesting. I really enjoy the storyline and it is interesting to see where the author is taking the story. I like the multiple layers of story and character development going on because it pushes the pace of the book and makes it almost impossible to set it down. This is not always one of my favorite genres but Naomi Valkyrie is making a convert of me. She writes and tells a story very well and keeps this reader engaged until the very last page. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I loved this book! This is the second book in this series and it just keeps getting better and better! I would most defidently recommend reading this series in order to get the best reading experience possible. They’re all fantasic and its awesome to see all the characters grow and see the where they are now. Xenobia is our main character and she is awesome! She is determined to show that she is not like the ones that came before her but the road she is on is a tough one! I read this book fairly quickly and i enjoyed all the the action that it held. This is books 4 – 6 of this series. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning. It is great to see that they become a collection. They are fast paced stories that are full of romance and action. Friday’s stories continue in each book of this collection. She makes such a great strong character and just makes the story for me. I had no problem connecting to the characters as they bring the story to life. They made the story easy to read and kept it engaging. I highly suggest reading the first three books to help build the enrichment of this series. I highly recommend reading this collection to find out what happens to Friday next.

It Comes From Within by Naomi Valkyrie was an incredible sequel in the House Valdis series! I think I liked it better than I did the first book! Much more interesting in my opinion, more suspense and action, and more character development. I was enthralled the whole time reading and could hardly put the book down! I’m also glad I read the Xenobia Origin story before reading this one, it definitely helps with some of the characters that were introduced in this installment! I fell in love with this book and I can’t wait to read the next part of the series! I highly recommend this read!

The Perfect Outcast By Melissa O. Hansen 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book The Perfect Outcast by Melissa O. Hansen. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. The author does an amazing job of world-building as well as making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. I loved the character of Alina. She is a young woman who starts as one person in the beginning and during the story starts to change. She shows herself to be intelligent, strong, and independent. She is an amazing character and one that I could root for her to succeed in all that she does. Alina has always longed to fit into the society that she lives in. Everyone there seems perfect except for her. Secrets and a conspiracy are uncovered. What does the future hold for Alina? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning. There were times I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I grew to care about Alina with each chapter that I read. Other additional characters are introduced, and I enjoyed reading about many of them as they are helpful to Alina. There are others however that have a selfish agenda. Don’t miss out on an amazing and entertaining book. I highly recommend reading it.

I enjoyed this book. This is a young adult story that is well written with characters that are connectable and bring the story alive. This is a story about a young girl named Alina who lives in Pria where everyone is immortal but her. But things may not be as they appear. Things may not be as perfect as all want them to be. She really just wants to fit in some place. As she searches for the courage and freedom she longs for she may just uncover some dark past. Will she find what she is searching for before it is too late? This is a little different story but I really enjoyed it. The more I read the more I really liked Alina and felt for her. She made such a great character and made the story easy to read. I highly recommend this book.

I loved reading this book and I can say listening to it was just as great! Love the story and the flow of the story. I literally listened to the book in one day lol once you start you just can’t stop! The great world building and character build-up are great, it really pulls you into the story! 4 Stars Alamir, Blood of Kaos is the first Book is this new series and it is a great start, Etain is a very powerful woman who came into her power in a bloody and messy way. She is constantly trying to decide who she is able to trust and who is out to get her. While Miller does an impressive job of weaving a tale full of descriptive action scenes and well-developed characters, the strongest point of this story is the supporting characters such as Spirit and Inferno. These characters give color and depth of the story that would otherwise be two dimensional.
Miller is an amazing author who impresses me with her ability to take characters from pages into reality. I am excited for book two.

House Valdis Origins: Xenobia by Naomi Valkyrie is a prequel to the first novel in this series, The Rise of House Valdis. This is a quick read but very entertaining. I enjoyed getting a new insight into the character, Xenobia. This adds to the first book and the rest of the series and the relationships and characters being developed. I read this in record time and was sad to see the end of this book. I felt like it covered what was needed and now I will be rereading the first book before grabbing the second book. This is a great series and I look forward to reading more from it in the future.
Alamir (Blood of Kaos Series Book 1) by Nesa Miller, was an epic love story, epic action and adventure story and an epic save the world story. So much going on in this story. Mystery, intrigue, revenge, I am sure I’ve forgotten some. It’s a little difficult to pin this story down to a genre as it sounds like elements of several. Fantasy, science fiction, horror and more. The characters are fully fleshed, and the world is intricately constructed. The love story between Etain and Dar has all the tension of a tightly wound spring. A very creative, keep you on your toes story.

Xenobia: House Valdis Origins by Naomi Valkyrie was a great, and quick read! Naomi did a great job with the back story of this main character from the House of Valdis series! You don’t have to read the series to understand the origin, it is a great stand-alone novella. This was also a super short read as well. I immensely enjoyed reading this novel, and it was great to be back in the world Valkyrie created. I can’t wait to read not only the next origin book, but the next House of Valdis installment as well. I highly recommend this story!
Alamir: Blood of Kaos Series by Nesa Miller. Let me start with the fact this was outside my read comfort zone but I’m trying to branch out and boy am I glad I did. From page one I knew I was in for an interesting story and I was not disappointed. The characters are complex and truly draw you into their world. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. This author has a wonderful way of keeping readers completely hooked and on the edge of their seats with the twists and turns. Even the smallest details are focused on and truly bring the story to life right before my eyes. I’m giving this story a four star review and highly recommend it. Looking forward to more from this author for sure!

This book took me on a great adventure of action and wonderful characters. The story line kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat. Etain didn’t know who she could trust, and I felt like I was right there with her. I didn’t know what was going to happen next. Etain is a very strong character and we get to see her grow in this story. There are some other really great characters in this book that you won’t want to miss out on. Alamir is the first book in Nesa Miller’s Blood of Kaos series. It’s an exhilarating fantasy story centring on a young woman, Etain, whose magical powers have brought her to a world vaster and more dangerous than she could have imagined. Miller has created a really detailed and grounded fantasy world. There is something of the urban fantasy to it, with some events taking place in the modern human realm, but there are many unfamiliar and original aspects of the world that we get to explore through the story. I particularly liked the use of Celtic languages. The Welsh in particular added to the sense of place and it was so wonderful to encounter the languages when I wasn’t expecting it! (and don’t worry – translations are provided so you won’t miss out on important information). My favourite character is Spirit. I appreciated how much agency she had, even when underestimated by others. Her observation and understanding of others, as well as other powers such as healing, lead her to be a really important and loveable character! For me, this is a five-star book. A thoroughly enjoyable fantasy with plenty of original and unexpected aspects. I would recommend it to fans of supernatural stories with tight, messy family relationships.

House Valdis Orgins: Xenobia is my first experience with the author Naomi Valkyrie. It was not at all what I expected, but I really liked it. It is unlike anything I’ve ever read, I highly recommend it. While it is technically the 3rd book in the series, it is written as a prequel and is advertised as taking place before the first House Valdis novel. I will now go back and read the others in the series, and honestly, cant wait. The book is not for young readers, as it contains scenes of rape and topics of sex slaves. It is a very quick read, but so full of action that it seems like a much longer story. It has great world building and the characters are well written.
This mystical fantasy was a great start to an amazing read. From first listen, I was enthralled with not only each character but their past and how it affected each one of them in so many different ways to the point where their past defined their present, their future and the way they operated because of that. You were captivated so much from loss, love, lust, betrayal and the impacts of distress, grief, loss and the way their trauma impacted their life. I don’t want to give too much away other than that but this was worth every single page to get engulfed in!

Fun! I thought this book was a lot of fun to read. There were a lot of characters to keep track of, and if you are like me and didn’t read the first book then you may get slightly confused. I still pushed through and was happy I did. I would highly recommend you read the first book so you can get some background on all of the characters you will be reading about, which will help you figure out what is happening in this book and what relationships they have with each other. I did read House Valdis Origins so I was at least able to get a glimpse at Xen and Urd. I like how each chapter told whose point of view I was going to be reading, that helped with figuring out what was going on. From where Xen started to where she is now, it seems like she really made something of herself and has been surrounded by people that truly care about her. The relationship between her and Matthew and Onyx is crazy, but in my mind I’m hoping she can sever the ties that hold them together and can be with Chiamaka, I feel like there is something there for them. The twist with the white queen had my mind blown! I loved how the story flowed and all the drama involved around House Valdis. This is not my usual genre but this book really intrigued me with the story and how nicely the characters were developed. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

This was a great short paranormal story. It takes place before The House Of Valdis. Which is also a great book. It was a gripping story that kept me hooked and I read it in one sitting.
Xenobia lives in a home for slaves. She has shut herself off from people as she always ends up hurt when they leave. That is until Urd arrives as her room mate. Try as she might she cant help caring for her and their bond is strong.
When they are sold to a master who is very sadistic Xenobia does all she can to protect Urd from harm. And their master takes great joy in seeing the pain and torment in Xenobia when she is unable to do so.
Can Xenobia and Urd escape their master and be free of their torment or will it be too much for them to survive.
Alamir: Blood of Kaos is the first book of the Blood of Kaos by Nesa Miller. This book is the first book I have read by Ms. Miller but definitely won’t be the last. This story was an amazing and original story of light and dark. Etain and Adar are fantastic characters the grow as the story moves along. I can’t wait to listen/read the second book in this series.
This narrator is Ashley Nicole Stevens is a new to me narrator also. I enjoyed her tone and speed of the reading. She really brought the characters to life. I highly recommend this book.

This is one of those dark and detailed fantasy books that you just get completely lost in and lose track of the world going on around you. Alamir was instantly on my TBR as soon as I saw the breathtaking cover come across my feed and I was itching to find out what the story behind it was going to be. It definitely did not disappoint and I am even more elated to find out there will be more books within this series to devour.
Alamir introduces us to Etain, an ordinary gal at first until an event changes everything. She is left to figure out where she fits in the new world of the Alamir, and help to keep the balance between the good and evil surrounding her. Her new powers are just the tip of the iceberg and she finds herself in some adventurous situations. I felt transplanted into this fantasy world and I loved every moment of it. Bring on book two!

I loved reading the book It Comes From Within (House Valdis Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie. It is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I love the character of Xenobia. She is the head of House Valdis. She also is feeling the strain of that leadership. I love that Xenobia is intelligent, strong, and independent. She is also considerate of those around her and truly cares about them. What will happen when situations begin to overwhelm her? What will happen when the past collides with the future? Read this book to find out. This is a character-driven book. It tells the story from the POV of many of them and you get a chance to find out more about them and the part that they play in the story. For some characters, this is an emotional journey and for others, it is a time of self-discovery. I love fantasy books and this one is a good example of why. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. I felt like I was right there with them. Don’t miss out on an exciting and entertaining story that you won’t want to put down. I would recommend reading these stories in order for a better experience. You won’t be disappointed.

Dont let the page count fool you. This story packs so much into it that I felt I read a great story in a short amount of time. Not many can pull that off but this author sure did. Whether you have read anything else by this author or not, this is perfect to get into this world and learn more about Xenobia. This takes place before Rise of the House of Valdis so no matter which order you read them, this is a must read. I cant wait to read more !
House Valdis Origins: Xenobia by Namio Valkyrie is a prequel to the Rise of House Valdis. This is an amazing short story that transports you right back into the gritty world you have already been introduced to. I loved the insight it gave us into Xen and where she came from. And I loved the fact that the author knew exactly how much we needed from this story and how much needed to be held back for the rest of the series. This book is just brilliant. I was thinking about it long after I had finished reading it and it has just whet my appetite even more for the next book in the series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
