The Guard by Ashley Pagano a fancy five-star read. This is number two in a Soppranaturale series and it is best to read them in order to get the most out of them. This was such a well-done paranormal story, it has so many fast-paced lines that hook you in and don’t let go. There is something for everyone in this series and this story, action and passion and romance, a story that will run you through the emotional wringer, but you will still love it. I don’t want to say too much, so I will just say you need this story!!

The Perfect Outcast By Melissa O. Hansen ☆☆☆☆☆ This complete novel is great for those wonderfully growing and changing teens, with a wild imagination. This is a fantasy for all ages as well, as I enjoyed this adventure.
Alina is a 17 year old that just wants what all of her classmates have. But her inner teen wants more. She is not pretty, she is not liked and she even has teachers who do not like her. A teen living in a perfect town. No sadness, no death and plenty of happy partiers. Perfect! Just not for Alina. She wants answers, she has many questions, and not even her caregiver will talk to her. So here is where it gets good, sit back and read on.
Melissa Hansen has quite the knowledge of those teens and young adults. Her story will not disappoint. I love her characters for this story. She gave it that realness teens are looking for. While this story is a YA Fantasy. I did enjoy reading it. It holds your interest and keeps you, the reader, wanting more. Take the leap and enjoy this story. I know I did!

I loved reading the book Eternal Wanderings: The Continuing Journey of Kara O’Keefe by Danielle Ackley-McPhail. It is a dark fantasy book that pulled me in from the beginning and I was hooked. I grew to care about the character of Kara O’Keefe. She is a young woman who has joined the Romani caravan. She tries to be accepted by the clan. She also is honoring a vow that she made. I found Kara to be a strong, independent, and caring young woman. What will happen when an ancient enemy brings danger to those in the clan? Read this book to find out. The author has done a wonderful job of world-building and it is very helpful that there is a glossary of terms in the book to help better explain some terms. Both the story and the characters come alive on the pages. There are some suspenseful moments as well as emotional ones. Some bonus stories are included. I enjoyed reading them and found them to be both exciting and entertaining. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that you won’t want to put down until the final page.

This book is an awesome second book. It’s not too often that a second equals or is better than the first. This is one special book because it does that! It is a continuation of book 1 and tells how things are since winning the Gauntlet. Each of the characters is moved forward personally but they also grow together. I loved seeing each of them and their powers.
Do you like action, romance, paranormals? Yes, Yes, Yes?..Me too! This has all that and more! This is full of wonderful characters. I loved wondering what Ommily and Link would do next, who they would run into and what kind of paranormal they were. Or maybe they were human.
Overall I really loved this! Excellent idea (hotel) for the story. The characters are fun, sassy and annoying. They even made me tear up! I would love to see more of these characters anytime!
I would highly recommend reading The Gauntlet (book 1) before reading this. There are a few overlapping stories as well as the first time Ommily comes to the hotel.

This young adult story is amazing. I find that Melissa O. Hansen does an amazing job with her attention to detail. She writes about a perfect world and a young lady who is imperfect. Try to imagine everyone and everything is perfect and then there was you, the imperfect person. Alina is looking for a safe space where she can be her. While looking for her perfect place she finds a dark spot in the past. Will the dark past be too much for her? You will have to read to find out how this story plays out.

Melissa O. Hansen has really written a lovely novel here. I was not sure what to expect since I hadn’t read anything by her previously, but this book was one I look forward to visiting again and sharing with my teenage daughter as well. This book has not only a wonderful storyline with fab characters, it has some really good points to be seen and made about people and personal growth. We are not all perfect or if we are we are perfect in our own ways and for different reasons. I felt like that was such a strong point throughout but it didn’t read lecture like or difficult it had the perfect flow to engage the reader and teach. This book brings us the story of Alina, a young woman stuck in the middle of a confusing time and world. She will get in your head and make you think as you enjoy the magic of her story. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

The Guard (A Soppranaturale Series Book 2) by Ashley Pagano. This is such a great read. I loved book 1 so I was excited to read this one and it did not disappoint. We are still at the Soppranaturale Hotel which is an undercover sanctuary for paranormal & supernatural creatures who run the Soppranaturale. Ommily and Link are the very last two Fae and they love each other dearly. Ommily and Link are assigned to protect and then conquer the Gauntlet. They are now trying to protect the Soppranaturale Hotel from its pending demise. They along with other members of the Guard are using their powers to fight the rouge supernaturals. Going thru horrible battles and testing every bit of their powers and relationship Link and Ommily will fight til the bitter end. Will they protect the Soppranaturale or will they lose this very important battle. Read The Guard to find out!

Heartbreak Rebellion is part of the Hero High series by Mina Chara. If you haven’t already, I would recommend starting this series from the beginning, otherwise you will be a little lost. The story picks back up with Friday, who is still recovering from the last battle. She finds herself with a new love interest and thrust into the limelight once again. As her fame grows Friday finds herself in turmoil with some tough decisions to make. She finds it hard to know who to trust. I love the character of Friday and you really get to see her grow up in this book. She has to stand on her own two feet a little more. If you’re already a fan of this series there are lots of familiar faces. As always the story is action packed and fast paced. This was probably my favourite book of the series so far.

I enjoyed this fantasy story. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the first book to help you get to know the characters better. One thing I enjoy about the author is her attention to detail and her ability to write a story that pulls me in from the beginning. This story is no different if not better. Lady Isra is back in this story. There is alot going on in this story that you don’t want to miss. The twists and turns in this story will keep you turning pages as it reveals revenge, suspense and even some romance. I enjoyed reading this book as it is fast paced and entertaining. What does the future hold for Contessia and Everilda? Will Lady Isra’s plans succeed? Read this book to find out. This is a story that is wonderfully written. It is exciting and entertaining. Once I started the book, I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. Another interesting character and part of the story is Lady Isra’s raven companion. The author does a wonderful job of taking you into a land of fantasy where you never know just what will happen next. The characters and the storyline come alive and I found myself lost in the pages. This book fully captivates you into this world the author has created and you get lost within the pages, it feels like you are there within the story living it out alongside the characters. Heartbreak Rebellion is a collection of stories in the Hero High series by Mina Chara. It contains ‘Depression’ Book Four, ‘Acceptance’ Book Five, and ‘Hero’ Book Six. This is a fantastic way to follow this superb series- three books in one. But I really recommend reading the first three books before embarking on this collection- either by getting each title individually, or by reading ‘Figure in the Flames’ which contains the first three books. The series has a continuing storyline, and even though Ms. Chara does do a nice job of catching us up on what has transpired previously- nothing beats reading the action for yourself. This is a young adult fantasy adventure series set in a ‘superhero’ high school/TV show- it’s full of action, danger, superheros, villains, pressures of fame, responsibility, angst, and a little romance. The story/series is set in a near future world, Icon City, and follows Friday Fitzsimmons on quite an incredible adventure. I thought this set of books were a little darker and edgier than the previous three, making for an even more intriguing read. So, if you love young adult fantasy, with plenty of action, adventure, and superheroes- then this is definitely a story/series you won’t want to miss.

Tompkin’s School For The Dearly Departed is the second book in the Supernatural Academy Trilogy by Tabi Slick. It is an original young adult paranormal academy story/series- with drama, mystery, action, adventure, suspense, and some fabulous world building. After reading the first book in the series, I was hooked, and couldn’t wait to read what came next. We meet twins Izzy and Kain in Book One, two teenager who have some pretty unique abilities- but they seem to consider their powers to be more of a curse than a benefit. They still don’t fully understand their abilities- and are still looking for answers. With unknown enemies lurking, it makes knowing who to trust quite difficult. What ensues makes for a fantastic adventure! I really recommend reading book one- so as not to feel ‘lost’ in this story. I think going into this book as a standalone could be a little confusing- so do yourself a favour and read Book #1 first. Bring on the next book!

Fall of the Western Kings is the first book in the Tirumfall Trilogy by J. Drew Brumbaugh. This is an epic fantasy, full of action, adventure, magic, demons, dragons, wizards, knights, elves, danger, drama, surprising developments- and a story of good vs evil. Gant is thrust into quite an epic adventure, meeting some very intriguing characters along the way- and I loved following along, getting a front row seat to all the action and interesting developments. This story is quite original, and the world building was richly detailed and well crafted. The story was a little slow to get going, but after a few chapters, the pace picked up and the story took off. This story really sets the series off to a great start and I can’t wait to see what the next book holds.

This series has completely pulled me in from the very beginning. The characters are complex and relatable, the storyline smooth and engaging. The author does a wonderful job of writing even the smallest of details out enough that the story comes alive for the readers. Each book takes you on an adventure you won’t be forgetting anytime soon. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. The characters are complex and pull you into their story world and you’ll have fun getting lost in the pages for a while. Four stars and highly recommended.

Paranormal thrillers normally take me a little to settle In but I was intrigued by this storyline from the beginning. I really enjoyed the second book in the Soppranaturale Series by Ashley Pagano. I don’t usually read this particular genre but I really liked book 1 and the authors writing I felt was really engaging and enjoyable to read. Again I was quickly absorbed into what I was reading; the author’s descriptive language makes for great world building. The characters are very creative and I liked reading about them. I enjoyed following Link and Ommily again in this story, they definitely had some obstacles to face this time – I loved reading about them! The story does have quite a few layers to it which made it more exciting to read, I found myself easily lost in what I was reading! I think this book definitely needs to be read after book 1 to fully understand everything going on. I definitely recommend this series!!

It is an original premise that is creative so you can imagine the worlds of mortals and immortals and what they consider beautiful or not. But what is the definition of what one person perceives as beautiful as opposed to the next person. If I found it an interesting read the YA’s will definitely like it.
Valkyrie continues to impress with her ability to weave an involved storyline with complex characters and not lose track of the big picture. This continuation from book one definitely picks up where the first ended and is best appreciated if read in series order. You won’t fully appreciate the brilliance of the author’s words without book one – and brilliance is what you find in these pages. I love how Valkyrie has grounded these characters even within the fantasy/paranormal genre. Go ahead and pick up the origin story and book one when you grab this book. Once you start I promise you will want it all.

It Comes From Within (House Valdis Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie 4 Stars
The story picks up after book one ends. Xenobia has a lot to deal with since taking over House Muerte. As in any takeover, some join willingly whereas others cause problems. Between that and trying to handle the mind link, Xenobia is exhausted. A new evil has stepped up trying to take over causing more stress for her.
Though the book is short, a lot happens within these pages. Drama and suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author throws in a few surprises to keep you on your toes. I enjoyed everything except for the ending. It ends a bit abrupt but I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

YES! I had high hopes for this novel after reading the first in the series, which I recommend that you do as well before diving into this one, but this knocked it out of the park. I really have grown to love taking an escape type vacation to a magical world of the Soppranaturale. The way this book is written you are transported to a land you could only imagine in your wildest dreams with all kinds of magic and inhuman creatures.
This book picks up just shortly after the last with Ommily and Link finally finding each other and in the Guard but with a whole new set of obstacles in their way. There are several layered elements between the Guard and the romance between the two that there is hardly a moment to breathe let alone get bored. I found myself reading this well into the night to see how the culmination of everything would turn out. Not one missed wink was missed. I look forward to seeing what will come next from Ashley Pagano!

The Guardis the second book in The Soppranaturale Seriesby Ashley Pagano. It is a really intriguing paranormal fantasy, and a really original and fun read. I loved the first book and couldn’t wait to dive into this story and continue the adventure. Full of magic, secrets, supernatural and paranormal beings, discovery, action, danger, and more. We discovered The Soppranaturale Hotel in Book One- the ’undercover’ sanctuary for paranormal & supernatural creatures who all do their part to keep things running and contribute to The Soppranaturale. We met Ommily and Link- the very last two Fae, as they proceeded to connect and then conquer the Gauntlet. This book sees them being tested like never before, as rouge supernaturals enter the picture- placing everything they hold dear in grave danger! What happens next kept me avidly reading to discover if they win out in the end. I highly recommend reading book one before starting on this book, as there is important backstory and interesting details contained there, which will enhance your appreciation of this book. So, if you love a well written and incredibly intriguing paranormal fantasy- then you really won’t want to miss this story/series! Looking forward to more!

The Perfect Outcastis the first book in the Perfect Outcast series by Melissa O. Hansen. It is a clever and though-provoking story of self-discovery and finding where you belong. It is a YA fantasy- with sci-fi and dystopian themes- the story is woven with meaning and hidden messages, which really made me think. There was so much going on in it, in a good way- from secrets, drama, deadly conspiracy, hidden agendas, corruption, mystery, romance, parallel worlds, power, responsibility, mortals/immortals- and the idea that ‘being perfect’ is not everything it’s cracked up to be. This is a fantastic start to the series- and if this is anything to go by, the rest of the series is set to be outstanding. Ms. Hansen’s world building is superb- creating quite a vividly detailed setting in which to place her story. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here.
