Pandora’s Poison (Hart & Cole Book 2) Sacha T.Y. Fortune 5 out of 5 stars
Pandora’s Poison is the page turning, second book in the Hart and Cole series. I really enjoyed the second installment in this series, even more than Climbing the Walls. I would recommend reading these books in order to get a full picture of the storyline and to get to know the characters in depth. This series has done an excellent job drawing me in and showing the complexities of adult relationships. Without ruining the story at all it’s difficult to write a review that does this story justice. The characters are raw and real and the story has so much emotion behind it. I’m truly looking forward to reading on in the series. Pandora’s Poison is definitely a 5 star read and the Hart & Cole series is definitely something you won’t want to miss out on.
Luke (Dark Water Security Series Book 1) By Madison Quinn. This entire story was simply incredible. I love a story about characters that go through things that seem impossible to survive and the characters written in this story will stay with me for a while I believe. This story may not be for everyone but it’s one that gets my highest recommendation because it’s amazing. The storyline is captivating and the characters are complex and take you on their journey with them. The attention to details is spot on and I was completely hooked from beginning to end. I’m so glad I picked up this book. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it.

Jenny and Brian’s story continues. Jenny is such a strong woman. Even with all she must indore. Brian has a great stress reliever, in the bedroom. Thankfully she has not only Brian, but a whole team that protect her. As she continues to fight for her life, in and out of the court house.
Via Mari continues to impress me with her writing. Her characters are so likeable, and her story is a real page turner. I was drawn in on page one and yelled on the last page. Her story got so intense as well as Hot in the bedroom. Now I can’t wait for book 3! Well done Via Mari!!

The Future Memoir of Ann Jones was a great 5 star read. This was a different storyline than I’m used to with a little bit of magic and travel through time and I really enjoyed it.
It took me a little bit to get into the story but than I couldn’t put it down. We meet Ann who has visions about her future. She is a widow who joins a knitting club that had some very interesting members and rules.
I really don’t want to say much more and give away things about this great story. There were several twists and turns that pulled me right in. I really liked all of the characters, some gave me LOL moments. I really liked Ben and how he pursued Ann, he wasn’t going to give up. I felt like we got several different stories and it was great. Alex Bailey does a great job of pulling you in with her writing and telling a great story. I look forward to reading more from her.

Pandora’s Poison is an amazing addition to the Hart and Cole series. It can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading the first book to have background on several supporting characters. I loved Darren, Luisa, and Gianni. They were all very interesting and had great personalities. The storyline was easy to follow and I literally could not put this novel down. I also had a hard time picking a favorite between Darren and Luisa. They were both amazing in their own way and dedicated to their family even if one had not spent as much time with the kids before. Luisa really is a supermom and I loved reading all the things she has balanced to take care of her family and hide her little secret. Sacha Fortúne has done a magnificent job with this book and I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Luke (Dark Water Security Series Book 1) by Madison Quinn was an raw emotional book, that will get you right in the heart.
My first read by this author, and well, I’m going to be honest this book could have been much more. Now the writing isn’t bad, it was pretty solid and had a nice flow. Told in dual POV we get inside both Luke’s and Emily’s head. Something I’ve always loved when dealing with darker, psychological books. I did kind of prefer Luke’s voice, I found him to have more emotions, and witnessing his change mentally from that first chapter onwards, is something to give this book praise for. His character development was exponential, and it really stole the show.
Now let’s get into why I have mixed feelings about this book. The beginning is dark, heart clenching and nightmare fuel. It isn’t for the faint of heart and there are scenes that may be triggering to some readers. Since the synopsis gives it away this isn’t a spoiler. Luke plans an escape, they get out, and, I’m not going to say anymore on that, cause that will be a spoiler. So after this escape the books slows down, and after such an intense opening, that sudden pace change throws off your reading momentum. Looking back now, it’s not that everything after was dull, it was just made that way because of the way the opening is written. Also it takes way too long for Luke and Emily to get their shit/feelings together, again throwing off the pace.
This book read like two in one, and I think that’s what it should be. The opening should be its own book, like a novella, then the events afterwards should be its own story. I believe doing that will give more focus to Luke and Emily, as well as the two other subplots, that didn’t get as much attention, or hype because of that brutal opening.
Overall this is a good book, it has amazing character development, detail and info placement. It will draw you in, that opening alone will keep you reading just so you feel at ease with Luke and Emily. It’s a need, a desperate need to know that they’ll be okay, that they’re going to be okay. You’ll get attached to them, and even with the pacing issues you will still find yourself engrossed in this book.
So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will be holding your breath, flipping the pages, and have you wishing you could save them.

The author took a different way in telling this story, the method was interesting and fun. From the characters, to the setting/locale, to the unusual events that unfold, this story captures the reader and carries them on the journey with Ann Jones as her life changes in ways that are unexpected. What is this knitting club? That is one of the questions that comes with this story as the author leads us from one thing to another. A unique story with wittiness abound, Alex Bailey provides the unexpected in the most interesting of the ways.

SHATTERED is a spinoff of The Prestian Series and I enjoyed the continuing threads from the first series. I’m not sure I would have been as understanding of it and the complex world surrounding the main characters if I hadn’t read the first series.
The story is written in such a way that I found myself questioning what was going on. I started to side with outsiders for a few minutes because they made a great case (I know this doesn’t make sense, but you will understand it when you read the book). THAT IS THE SIGN OF A GOOD STORY… My wavering faith in the “truth” kept me turning the pages.
There are a lot of characters in this story, both main and secondary, and at times I had to remember who was who and who worked for which company. There is a briskness about the story that made it feel like it was constantly in motion. The story moved along in a way that the end always seemed just around the next corner. This story actually goes to unexpected places.
I look forward to reading the next story in this trilogy.

This a really short story about a girl being sold for food. When you don’t do your part for the king you have to give something up. That something has to be Sol. A young girl who just wants to live. This kind of felt like a prequel to the beginning of a story. You don’t find out much about Fenris. If I was Sol’s mom I wouldn’t let her in the woods. The story was getting interesting and bam it’s done. Hopefully the author gives us another book for this story. I would like to know what happened with Fenris and Sol. Reviewed by @gguerrero89
Caught I the Spin is the second book in Sharleen Scott’s The Caught Series and if you have read the first book, like I, then you already met Tom Black (he is the main in this story). You can read the story as a standalone but as they are linked through the characters then I suggest that you start from the beginning! This story picks up two years after the first book. As I really liked the first book and I wanted to learn Tom’s story then I could not wait to get my hands on Caught in the Spin! Caught in the Spin is the story of Tom Black, a former bull rider, and Tallie Peters, assistant to Nashville’s premier music manager. Tom is such a good natured and too perfect of a man, and let’s not forget how hot he is! He is so opposite of Tallie who is a heck of a brave woman who has had to find her own way and the more you read the story the more you find out about both of them and the layers that the writer is using … the twist that blow our mind … you will not regret getting down with the series!

PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS is a “sweet romance”. A sweet romance as defined by Cathy McDavid: “sweet romances emphasize the developing romantic relationship, focusing on the emotional conflicts standing between the couple and their struggle to overcome those conflicts. Love scenes have no more physical intimacy than kissing. They can be tender or a bit more intense but always with undeniable sexual undercurrents which are gently stated rather than explicit. The characters can have ugly or traumatic pasts, such as abuse or rape or addiction, but none of that takes place in the here and now. Mild curses like damn are acceptable if used in moderation and not gratuitously.”
The typical sweet romances that I’ve read are shorter than full length novels and have a complete beginning, middle and end in its brevity. That is not the case with PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS. This is an extremely detailed telling of a story and, at times, it is so detailed that I found myself a little frustrated wanting the story to move quicker.
I really enjoyed how the story started out. I think it’s a great look at the human condition of how people help others in distress. There is a lot good about both of the main characters, I think the point sometimes got buried in all of the details. There are some really cute and funny moments while this relationship develops. It was all just too much.
I always appreciate an author’s hard work when putting “pen to paper” and you can see the effort that this author put into the story and I will keep an eye out for future books this author writes.

Pandora’s Poison (Hart & Cole Book 2) by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné is the second book in the series, and I couldn’t put it down. I would definitely recommend reading them in order and not as a stand alone, because it can be confusing. Much like the first book, the characters were very much like friends you want to spend time with and I fell in love with them. The ups and downs and roller coaster of emotion kept me tied to this book until I was finished. I have a feeling this is gonna be a series that makes me sad when it’s over, because I will miss the characters. Even before this series I was in a rut, having finished a great series. Although, this is a new author for me, I absolutely love this series and cannot wait to read what happens next. I easily give this book another 5 stars, and I can’t wait to read the next book!

Deepest Midnight: Book One of the Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter is a paranormal romance that quickly became an addictive read. Set in Savannah, Georgia, this story has all the historical feel of that location in the character interactions. Add in attractive vampires, this story took on a twist that gives the story charm, allure and intrigue. Millicent is the heroine, who is fractured/flawed, from her past. Her character was strong, yet vulnerable. When she believes fate has changed her path, she cannot avoid not pursing that. However, not everyone is willing to let things fall as they will and that brings in the drama of the story. It was detailed, well written and an addictive pleasure to read.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street 4 out of 5 stars I must say that this book starts with some series heart strings. This book can be read as a stand alone but I recommend picking up the previous 2 books as this one is just as good as the first two. Raina, or Rainy, as she likes to be called, spent most of her young adult life as the peacekeeper in what can be loosely called a dysfunctional household. When she grew up to become a family law attorney, she continued in that role, and is downright appalled to realize that she has pretty much let life slip her by. Roman had a rough start in life. A tragic house fire took his family from him and left him orphaned, marred and in the foster system. When the group home setting didn’t work out so well, he took to the streets, only to be rescued, if only briefly, by the well-meaning Rainy. He fought his way out of his terrible position and is now a plastic surgeon, who helps heal the physical scars of others, all while the scars he suffers with, both physical and emotional, eat away at him. These two characters are a fire waiting to ignite, and when they do, they are set ablaze. The dynamic between these two is unlike any that I have read before and the author has crafted a unique dual POV that had me hooked from the first page. You will not regret this story.

Caught in the Spin (the Caught Series Book 2) by Sharleen Scott 5 out of 5 stars. This second installment of the Caught Series is the perfect addition to this series. Tallie Peters is a very strong woman. I love books where the author has not only created a strong woman, but one that is believable and relatable. Tallie is trying to make her life better after the wreck her ex-husband had created for both her and her son. She takes a job as an assistant to a Nashville music manager that she believes is going to change the world for her and her son. Enter Tom Black. Former Pro Bull Rider. Handsome as sin and on the prowl. Or at least, was on the prowl. His life has always been a revolving door of casual hook ups from one bed to another. That is, until he meets Tallie Peters and sees what kind of life he could have with her and her son. When Tallie’s ex-husband comes rearing back into her life and threatens to take away her son. Tom will do anything he can to protect the new love and family he has found, but can he? I don’t grant 5 stars very often, but this one absolutely earned the full 5 stars.

Many reviews for this book said that the Prestian Series should be read first. I don’t always believe other people. This time I was right. This story can be read without the other series. However, will I go read it? Yes. Yes I will, but only because I like the way this author writes.
Shattered is about Brian and Jenny. I love the commonness of these names. I have read many books where the names are so far-fetched I often wondered if the author just threw letters together. Brian and Jenny meet at a wedding, this is where that other series comes into play. The bride and groom are the main characters from that series. But, again, you really don’t have to know their story. So, Brian and Jenny have an instant attraction and they actually start to act upon it but Jenny has a flash back and ends up running. We later discover why she ran and what was going through her mind. In fact, most of the story is about her healing and learning to trust Brian. Brian wants nothing more to show her new ways to trust him. Of course, it’s not going to be easy. What good relationship is all rainbows and glitter! Especially when the two in the relationship aren’t ready for one.
This book has situations that may cause triggers in some readers. However, it is a good story and while the ending isn’t the greatest, it does make me want to hurry up and one click the next book!

Wow, can these books leave you feeling anymore emotional. I thought Book 1 in the Hart & Cole Series, Climbing The Walls, was emotional but Pandora’s Poison brought on a whole new level. For a better idea of the story and the characters I highly recommend that you read Book 1 first as it will help you completely understand our main characters, Darren & Luisa’s, back story.
This book was once again raw & real and made you completely and utterly captivated from the start, you couldn’t put this book down until the very end. Then even when you have finished the read, it sticks with you for hours later, that’s how you know your emotionally invested in a book, and that you have found an epic read! This author has continued to blow me away with her incredible jam-packed story line, in-depth real, relatable & raw characters that each stand strong on their own and even better together.
I can’t wait to delve into Book 3 Pandora’s Price, just to see how far our characters journeys will go!
This is a book that shouldn’t be missed! This is a series that cannot be missed!

Eight Steps: A Friends to Lovers Romance by Taylor Sullivan is a fun romance story. This book is what the doctor ordered, a fun forget about the real world and join in Elliot’s world. Ms. Sullivan did a wonderful job writing the characters for this story. For the first time, I felt like I had a little nerdy brother who needed some advice on how to get the attention of the opposite sex. This story made me laugh, cry, and smile throughout the story. Elliot is a nerdy guy who wonders why he cannot seem to get the eye of the opposite sex. He asks his friends for advice and tries to use what he has been shown to catch the eye of a special lady. Will Elliot get the eye of that special person or will his nerdy side keep him all alone?

The Future Memoir of Ann Jones is a captivating book by Alex Bailey. I was expecting something along the lines of The Time Traveller’s Wife but it’s more of a Sliding Doors sort of thing. But more so. There were points where it felt a little bit weird, but the framing narrative more or less gives it permission to be a bit weird. After all, we don’t know what if any of the story is real, and how much has been altered as it’s been passed on. It was an enjoyable read. From the start, I was intrigued and needed to know what was going on with the knitting club! The characters were certainly characterful! I particularly liked Helga, a young woman with a flair for palm reading, and Daniel, a chef who is always up for experimenting. At the end of the book, we get an extra treat with the recipes for a few of the dishes mentioned in the story. I very much approve of this, as my mouth was watering pretty much all the way through (so much so that I had to take a break to go and get some chocolate before I could finish reading!). If you like strange cult-like groups with innocent seeming facades (I was reminded of Hot Fuzz!) and a book that explores “what ifs”, then this is definitely worth a read! It wasn’t quite what I expected but I couldn’t put it down, so definitely gets five stars from me!

Seraphina’s Awakening by Sheena Hutchinson is the first book in The Seraphinas series. This is the kind of book that will keep you guessing all the way through. As much as I might want to rave about this book I also wouldn’t want to say too much for fear of spoiling it. I didn’t really know anything about this book, or this author, when I started reading and I am really glad that was the case. I went in totally blind, with no preconceptions and was swept away by the storytelling. I loved Sera and how fierce her character felt to me. It was so easy to connect with her as a character, it honestly felt like I was feeling everything she did. This author has done an amazing job at creating a piece of work that will stay with you long after you finish reading. Highly recommended!
A Suitable Affair by Erica Taylor is the first book in the Macalisters series. This regency era book tells the story of Ian Carlisle, the Earl of Westcott and Lady Susanna Macalister. Susanna is accepting a marriage proposal from someone from Ian’s past. Can he help her before it’s too late? I love a historical fiction story and this was good because it incorporated in some mystery and suspense which I prefer over just a romance. The characters are interesting and I can see that this series will be interesting since the Macalister family is so large. Overall the story was solid as well as the characters. I liked that there was some backstory and how the stories melded with one another. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

When I started reading The Future Memoir of Ann Jones: A Time Travel Romance with a Splash of Magic by author Alex Bailey I thought I was getting a light hearted rom-com. In reality what I found was a little gem of a story about a middle-aged woman with a “vision”. In this vision Ann Jones finds herself a widowed empty nester who has moved cross country to start her life over. She’s gotten herself a new house, has found a possible new romantic interest and has joined a knitting club in an effort to make new friends. I enjoyed Ann’s sense of humor and overall spunk throughout the story, I enjoyed all the secondary characters as well as the mystery of the knitting club and its members. Overall this was a different kind of storyline that was refreshing in a world of rote ideas and writing.

Caught In The Spin is the 2nd book in the Caught Series by Sharleen Scott. I have previously read, and loved, the first book in the series Caught In Cross Seas. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but in my opinion you will get much more enjoyment if you read all books an in order. We are introduced to Tom Black in the first book, as he is the best friend of Clay who was the male lead in that book. Tom is an ex bull rider who now runs Clay’s ranch and is in charge of his security. When Tallie Peters who works for Clay’s record company comes to the ranch to get Clay to sign some papers, there is an instant attraction between the two of them but Tom is unwilling to act on this attraction. When Tom finds out he has an 11 year old son he didn’t know about, he turns to Tallie for advice as she also has an 11 year old son. This then brings Tom and Tallie closer together. When her husband is released early from prison, a tragic event occurs which forces them even closer together, relying on each other for support Like the first book in the series, this is a griping thriller that will have you hooked and unable to put the book down. The tension and suspense build up to an amazing, spectacular conclusion. Book 3 is ready and waiting on my kindle and I can’t wait to see what Sharleen Scott has in store next.

The Monster’s Lover by Samantha MacLeod is the first book in The Fenris series and what a great start it is! This fantasy read is beautifully detailed, whimsical, emotional and steamy! It was a great read from start to finish and I loved everything about it!
Even though it’s a shorter read, the story flowed seamlessly and it didn’t feel like anything was rushed or missing. I look forward to continuing this series and I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next fantasy read!

Movie Star is the second book in the 21st Century Courtesan series and oh my gosh what an absolutely amazing read! I would recommend that book 1 is read before this one just so you fully understand what is going on. I really loved the first book in the series and wondered whether book 2 would live up to my expectations and it did and more! I was hooked from the very first page and I didn’t put the book down until I had finished! I love it when a book has me so captivated that I can’t put it down! The characters are just amazing and I love Evie! I think she is just fantastic! And I loved how I warmed to Jake over the story! There is so much going on in this story but at no point did I find I was lost or did the story lose its way. The pace and flow were just fantastic! I 100% recommend this book and this series! It is outstandingly written and I really hope there is more to come from this author in the future – she is fast becoming one of my favourites!!

Bound by Via Mari is an incredibly entertaining read! It’s the second book in The Torzial Affair series, a series that should be read in order as this book follows where the first book left off. After reaching the end of Book 1 I couldn’t wait to dive into this book, and I was certainly not disappointed with how this story played out.
This storyline is intense, captivating, addicting, suspenseful, twisted and action-packed! I was hooked from the very first chapter and I ended up reading it in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down. There were so many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat and had my heart racing which kept me highly engaged the whole way through.
I can’t wait to dive into the third book to get answers to all my questions. I would absolutely recommend this book and series to others!

After thoroughly enjoying the first book in this series I was really looking forward to reading book 2 and I absolutely loved every second of it! I thought it was just as well written and the story was great. I was hooked from the very first page and was completely swept up in the author’s writing. I still absolutely love Libby; she is such a funny and genuine character to read about. I love that she still had her obsession with shoes and fashion. Again, she provided a lot of entertaining moments and I really do think the author has created a wonderful character – this is one of those books I can imagine being made into a really enjoyable chick flick! I am so excited for book 3! I cannot wait to read more about Libby and her entertaining life!!

The Future Memoir of Ann Jones by Alex Bailey My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
This is a doozy of a book. The start was slow but as I kept reading I got more and more into the story line. The story is awesome and the characters are very well written. I am truly speechless about how to tackle this review.
It is absolutely crazy to me that the story is based on an imagined life in Ann’s head. The whole time I was reading was like it was really happening and then I get a wake up call in the end, realizing that this was not real life. Each character was more interesting than the next and their stories were just as intriguing. I love that this book offered so much detail and background into each character, the best part being this “knitting club”. Throughout the book and learning more and more about the knitting club perplexed me, how did Frida know to invite Ann to join the club? Why are there so many crazy and scary rules, and what happens if you break them?
I want to say so much more but fear I will give too much away. I will say I HIGHLY recommend this book. This is not my usual genre, but I could not put this book down. You absolutely will not regret reading this book, I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to check out more by this author!

A great read about hope. Living forever can be miserable if you have lost the one you love. Millicent still mourns her lover even though he died more than two centuries ago. But when she meets an actor who looks exactly like him, her hope is reignited. Desperate to find out if he is Julien, she seeks him out and accidentally develops feelings for him. If he is Julien, can Millicent hope for a better future or will the past repeat itself? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Millicent struggling with her feelings but still going for what she wants or the supportive and friendly Annie. The contrast between bright happy Alexander and moody Millicent was beautifully written and enjoyable. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the sense of history with alleyways covered in moss and cobblestones and the fountain giving the place a sense of character. Or the vivid sense of colour in the past with vibrant blues and pinks and green parks or gold birds eye catching and bright making you feel as if you were actually there. I loved the mix of genres with realism of actors and police officers and the fantasy of immortals that combined together for a captivating read. I also loved the original fairy tale feel of the meetings with Jupiter in the little cottage in the woods with a wise helpful figure. The flashbacks into the memories of the past were well written and didn’t distract from the narrative of the present. The use of italics and dates in these sections was a great addition and made it easy to follow for the reader. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Lord I hate and love this story. It’s sad and beautiful and a big mess. Luisa isn’t a character to like. She has made so many mistakes but Lord she is human. This second book has us in deep. I can’t seem to pick a side most times. Darren is just wow to me. The courage it took to man up the way he did. I am crushed for him. I also feel bad for Luisa but not as much. Most men wouldn’t react the way he did. I hate how life can be so messy. The author really dig deep to write this story. To feel the pain and anguish these characters feel. To know that at any moment it can all come crashing down. I don’t know what happiness is right now after finishing this story. I’m in shock and I need the next book because I need to know.
