A KISS BENEATH A STRAWBERRY MOON was a good 4 star read and book three in the Daydreams & Dragonflies Rock ‘N Sweet Romance series.
This is a good story about young love between Marielle and Drew. They both have a love for music and Drew helps Marielle see just how talented she is. They fall in love over the summer and when Drew goes home for a few days before going back to college he finds himself in a situation that leaves his father turning his back on him. The only choice that Drew is left with is to join the military.
Marielle and Drew agree to keep in touch while she tours and he is in the service. They have some situations and people that challenge them and try and keep them apart. When Marielle loses all contact with Drew, she’s not sure what to think.
Where is he? Will their love be strong enough to keep them together?
There are a few twists and turns that added a great element to the story. This was a short read that I rated as 4 star only because I felt like some areas were rushed. I would have liked to have seen more from Drews situation with his step-mom and Marielle’s issue with her manager. We jump through time fairly quickly in some areas. Overall it is a great story and I look forward to reading more from Tamara. It’s fun reading a book that mentions cities that are not far from where I live in Wisconsin. Red Riding Hood (Down the Rabbit Hole) Anthology was amazing. There was a short story for every reader. I loved the variety and also that it was a different twist on the idea of Red Riding Hood. I had a difficult time picking my favorite story. Several O enjoyed included Cloaked by Lia Fairchild, Ruby by Autumn Sand, and Redd’s Wolves by D. A. Stein. Each story had amazing and interesting characters. I found it easy to relate to the main character Vanessa/Eva in Cloaked since I have worked in a similar setting she was in. This book was a wonderful collection and I can definitely see myself rereading several of these stories. I highly recommend it.
In this opposites attract story, we are introduced to Emilia Daarke and Cade Vasara. Emilia is destined for a life she doesn’t want but Cade has to make her acquainted with her new lifestyle. Emilia was caught by her father but thrown into a deadly game where she has to win for herself and her loved ones as well. Cade is caught between a rock and a hard place as he struggles to find balance between love and his sworn duty. Can Cade have the best of both worlds? This book will answer this question as the story continues to unfold for the reader. Betrayal and secrets will either push these two to work together or push them apart. Another action-packed read for me from the start to the finish. It’s full of romance, action, unpredictable, and steamy scenes to keep you captivated till the end.

This book grips you with mystery through the first three chapters. You’d never know but this case would take on a deeper meaning for the P.I. herself in a quest to uncover the truth about her past. This book has a lot of twists and turns full of suspense. I found myself not being able to put this one down. Action-packed with unpredictable and suspenseful chapters to keep you reading. I highly recommend checking this out.

I have loved this series from the get go and this one I have been anticipating for a while now. I love rock star romances and this was right up my alley. I couldn’t put this book down. I felt connected to these characters, Ben and Danielle, they were so relatable. Ben struggles and Danielle is hired as his ‘sitter’ to keep him out of trouble. I turned every page just waiting for what was to happen next. Great series!

Firstly if I could give this more stars I would! Wow, just Wow. “This is a journey into one man’s hell, with the hope that it will help others find the strength to be able to say, I need help”. Out of the Shadows by Theresa Sederholt is a story about Dane Johnson and his teenage son Brady, they both share a secret and that is that they are both victims of domestic violence at the hands of Julie, Dane’s teenage sweetheart and Brady’s mother. Sederholt takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster as we are given a glimpse into Dane and Brady’s life. Told from their point of views it is so well written that I felt I was there with them, I felt what they were feeling. I was there as Brady cowers in his closet with his noise cancelling headphones on and when Dane has a glass or a mug thrown at him from across the room which only misses him because he has got so used to dodging flying objects that his wife has thrown. This novel is not only a great read but it also has such a powerful message about domestic violence in particular when the victim is the man in the relationship rather than the ‘normal’ scenario in books which focuses on the women as the victim. Everything that happens has such a ring of truth to it that I was overcome with emotions reading this gripping domestic drama. I won’t give away any spoilers but things do come to a dramatic head and Dane and Brady’s secrets have to come out. Along with a selection of other great characters all of whom have their own detailed backstory the plot moves along at a fast pace. With the help of Brady’s best friend Danni and guidance counsellor Abby who is battling her own demons as a victim of her husbands violence towards her in the past and lawyer Josh, father and son realise they are not alone and that for anything to change they need to ask for help. A clever twist near the end is how Sederholt suddenly gives us a chapter from Julie’s point of view and suddenly we see the situation not from victims Dane and Brady’s view point but from the women causing the violence. I literally could not put this book down, full of twists and turns it was an unpredictable read, the drama builds with each chapter and leads to a dramatic outcome. I feel the book is very sympathetically written by the author and that she has done her research into domestic violence. I hope this book does what the author obviously intended and that is not just to give us a brilliant novel to read but also to raise awareness of domestic violence in all forms. Information is given at the end of the book of organisations who can help those experiencing domestic violence and also alcohol addiction. I can not recommend this book highly enough.

This author has an extraordinary way with words. She continues to captivate me with the stories she creates and this one is no different. In Forget Nico, we are taken through the life of a teenager, whether that’s drama, romance, ups and downs. You really get to see the characters grow and evolve throughout the story. This author creates brilliant characters and storylines every time, she brings you along on the journey and makes you feel as though you are there alongside the characters living out their story! Each book written by this author I get hooked by, and I’m so glad that I got the chance to read this one as well. Don’t miss out on this read!

Summer Princess by Sloan Murphy is the first book in the Dark Fae series. This is an interesting story that really hooks you from the start. Emilia and Cade for me are definitely what make this book. They are such strong characters that I was instantly drawn to them. It was so easy to connect with them as a reader. The author does a great job of building the story and keeping the development going. I thought this was a really strong start to a series and can’t wait to read more.
Prophecy Girl by Ravin Tija Maurice is the first book in the Camille Bishop series. This book is full of twists and turns. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. I found it to be really fast paced with made it exciting to read. I loved the main character. She was perfectly flawed which only made her more engaging. It is quite refreshing to read about a character like that. I definitely enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to what comes next.

Prophecy Girl (Camille Bishop Book 1) by Ravin Tija Maurice . This is a great novel. I loved murder/mystery’s so this is right up my alley. Its the story of Camille Bishop who is a Private Investigator and when she gets a Jane Lowry’s Paternity case brought to her she assumes its just your everyday run of the mill Paternity case. Wrong. This case gets weirder and weirder the deeper she goes and being her first solo case she is a little freaked out. Along with her junkie boyfriend Jesse and still grieving the loss of her parents Camille is the epitome of a hot mess. I don’t want to give much of the story because it will ruin the experience of the story but just be ready to not put it down when you start! Amazing story!

I have yet to read a book by Tamara Ferguson that I have not absolutely adored reading. She writes some sweet romances that will literally transplant you into the love story from beginning to end. When I saw the cover for A KISS BENEATH A STRAWBERRY MOON I knew I had to get my hands on this book! It literally screamed, read me lol.
I loved the sweet romance that develops between Marielle and Drew, and I even more so love the reality that Ferguson writes into their relationship. Life never goes smoothly, it’s all about the forks in the road, and Ferguson keeps it real with her stories. I wasn’t even one bit expecting the ending but I loved that element as well. This is a perfect sweet read for a rainy Sunday, or any day. I can’t wait to see what we will get next from the ever talented Tamara Ferguson!

I was so stinking excited when this book started to trickle its way into my news-feed. I am a sucker for the classic stories that we have loved from childhood getting new spins with an adult twist or two. I have such a hard time telling myself no and usually end up buying these types of novels without knowing any details other than the premise of fairy tales re imagined. This anthology did not disappoint and I have a feeling this will be one I find myself rereading several times in the future. I loved that as much as I knew some awesome authors featured like Autumn Sand, but I also got to meet some new ones to follow. I will keep the review simple with a little bit about Autumn Sands Ruby.
Ruby by Autumn Sand: This book was just as fabulous as I had hoped that it would be and more. We get the retelling of sorts of Red Riding Hood. This book will keep you enthralled and hooked with the romance and sensuality that is heavily laced throughout. I was completely enthralled to see what would happen with her and the tempestuous man she stumbles across.
The rest of the included authors that I at least want to mention their names for now are… Amy Allen, CeeCee Elaine, DA Stein, Darlene Tallman, Jess Bagnall, Kay Elle Parker, Laci Page, Lia Fairchild, and Lorah Jaiyn.
FLOWERS IN DECEMBER TRILOGY: Flowers in December, Coming Home, Second Chance by Jane Suen. This is such a good sweet romance trilogy. In Flowers in December we meet Connor who is returning home to bury his mom and live with his mom’s orange tabby cat Tom. When he goes to the Florist to get flowers for the funeral he meets Mary Ann the owner of the Flower shop. Mary Ann is not looking for romance but when she meet Connor sparks fly. Will they be able to make their relationship work between Connor grieving his mom and his past? In Coming Home the story continues to follow Connor and his cat Tom as he returns to his childhood home. He is trying to figure out his life all the while still grieving his mom when he meets Alana his neighbors estranged daughter who is in the midst of a family fall out. In Second Chance we pick back up with Conner and Mary Ann. Conner has a huge crush on her but he is still processing everything and he’s not sure he’s up to a relationship. As he comes back to the small town his mom lived he realizes that’s where he belongs and who he belongs with. Can he win Mary Ann back after leaving town? Read this sweet trilogy you won’t be disappointed!

Jane Suen’s Flowers in December trilogy is a fabulous set of books that I have really loved reading multiple times since the first one came about. I was so excited when I saw these books would be offered in a full set. I love books that do that as a series because they become instantly easier to gift and spread the love. Below you will find my reviews for each book.
Flowers in December: Book #1
“You’re my pride and joy, always remember this.”
“Connor lay crumpled next to her coffin, not willing to get up just yet, not ready to leave. He let his mind wander, thinking abut his mother, himself as a little boy. This was the one time; the one trip Connor had never wanted to take.”
This was such a compelling short read by Jane Suen. We first meet Connor grappled with grief at the casket of his mother. It has been a long time since Connor has come home and now it’s too late to really even call it home. He was the only one left of his small family, besides his mom’s cat Tom. This book is a brief but profound journey of grief. We follow Connor in the year after his mother’s death, and see what grief really does to him. I loved meeting all the characters of the small town where he grew up and how they all played a role in the grieving process.
This book was really wonderful and had a great way of being brief yet covering all the processes of grief that overcomes anyone who has experienced a loss, especially one of a parent. I have not read any other works by Jane Suen but I am really anticipating finding out what other works she has and devouring them. I loved her writing style and that she was able to express so much in such a short book. This was a five-star read for me hands down. There are a few quotes that I just loved and wrote down as I was reading this book that I will close my review with. I think that they really express what it meant for Connor to process the death of his mother and all that it entailed.
“This was the moment when he realized the beauty of it all. At that moment, he put aside the sorrow. For her was here, among all these people, in this sacred place, surrounded by beauty, music, and love… there would be no sorrow. No sorrow would be sent to her along the way where she must go now. They would send music, happiness, and love. For where she was going, there would never be any pain or sadness; there would be only eternal joy. And there, he firmly believed, she would forever rest in peace. The thought of his mother in eternal peace calmed and comforted him…”
“As life was inevitable, so surely was death. He would be her child forever. She would be his mother forever. Nothing would ever change that. Ever.”
“Connor was alone in this world. He let that thought sink in. He had not wanted to face this before. He always had a home to come to. Coming Home: Book #2
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this pop up on my feed. I had absolutely adored Flowers in December and was left wanting more, not with loose ends, but still wanting some more of Connor and what would come next for him. This was that and so much more. We just happen to get a lot more than we may have even bargained for. I would highly recommend that you read the first book, Flowers in December before devouring this one, everything will flow and make sense so much more. This one is obviously a holiday/Christmas story but I really feel as if I will be pulling this gem out any time of year, whenever I need an emotional and yet encouraging read. I almost feel as if these two books together would create a great Hallmark Christmas movie. I can’t wait to find out what will come next from Jane Suen! I am sure it will be fantastic whatever it will be, and on my to be read list! Happy reading!
Second Chance: Book #3
Jane Suen’s The Flowers in December Trilogy has been some of my favorite contemporary romance novels that I have read as of late. I enjoy how she manages to hook be deep into the story before I even finish the first few pages of a book she has penned. I loved Second Chance, the third and final book in the series, the most out of all of them. This book really closed the trilogy in a perfect and beautiful way that I just could not get enough of.
I would recommend that you read the first two novels prior to this one if you haven’t. I feel this series has evolved in both writing strength and the characters themselves. I suppose if you really wanted you could read them as stand alones though. This one brings us the conclusion of Connor’s story. He is our main character and really has changed so much from the very first book we read him in. I have probably just fallen in love with his character more and I never thought that was possible after book two. I look forward to finding out what will come next from the ever talented Jane Suen.

How Could I Forget (Plentiful in Love Book 1) by N.D. Jackson. This is the story of Kayla and Dan who had one night of passion but neither one of them ever forgot it. Once they graduated and moved on with their lives they thought of each other often but never saw each other again until he found her. Kayla was bubbly, sweet, gorgeous and amazing, Dan was smart, shy and quiet just the opposite and they both had crushes on each other that neither of them knew about. Until that one night and the chemistry was crazy between them. When Kayla moves and finds Dan in the same small town they are both excited. I absolutely love a good fantasy book and was so excited to find this book and author. I am so pleased to say that this book met my expectations. A grand universe has been created with some fantastic characters and plot development. I sped through this story and read it in one session. It reminded me in scale of several beloved authors in my library, Sarah J Maass, Stacey Marie Brown. Just a fantastic story that I cannot wait to continue reading.
I absolutely can guarantee if it is a classic/fairy tale reimagining I will likely snatch it up to add to my library. And I couldn’t wait to get this anthology in my hands.
I’m so thankful I did and enjoyed every single page. One of my favorites from the pack was the story from Autumn Sand. Just a fantastic, complex reimagining of a classic character and storyline.
If you love classic tales told in a twisted way, pick this up immediately.
This story is filled with twists and turns that kept me guessing from first page to last. This author is new to me and one that I found very enjoyable in plot development and pace. The characters were engaging and relatable. I love whodunit and private eye storylines and really enjoyed the premise of this book. Everything was very well written and I couldn’t put the book down. Extremely enjoyable. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Mountains series boxed set (Books 1-3) by Phoebe Alexander filled with five-star reads that you need to read. Mountains Wanted. This is a great story James and Sarah are both such good characters that you can understand where they are coming from and why they feel the ways they do. Sarah is a great character and one that this author has a way of writing in such a manner that you can’t help but feel compassion and passion for her, understand what makes her tick. If you are looking for something fun and passionate then you need this series. Mountains Climbed. This part of the series will cause true conflict within your soul, James and Sarah in your heart you know they are destined to be together, but they aren’t. James is set to marry his high school sweetheart, because that’s what you do isn’t it… Especially when Sarah has moved on with Garrett, but even if we know they should be together, it doesn’t always make it so. That’s what I like about this author, the passion is there, but you don’t always get what you want, and also the way the characters interact with the secondary characters, that’s nice, its well done and adds depth to the story. Mountains Loved. James and Sarah have truly climbed mountains for their love, but mountains can be dangerous much like love, and you may climb up safely, but you don’t always make it down safely. This is a compelling drama and James and Sarah each tell their own story, its one that is difficult and honest but it’s also very real. Do not miss this story, you need to get this story and series in your life.

Alexander continues to weave emotionally charged tales that absolutely leave the reader spent in a wonderfully exhausting and exhilarating way. This series is one of the best I’ve read and simply can not recommend it highly enough. Read it immediately!!

Out of the Shadows by Theresa Sederholt a fulfilling five-star read. Considering this is such a short read, my emotions feel like I have read a huge saga I can’t believe the author managed to fill so much emotional power in these few pages, it shows us what a talented author we have here. This is a powerful story about secrets, emotions and Dane. Get ready to read this story with tissues and something to comfort you, wine or chocolate and possibly an animal if you have one to hand to snuggle up to as they will help (and if you get desperate the are useful to wipe on). This will leave you with a great sense for other people and what they may face in life, it will open you up and leave you raw, but don’t despair as its so worth reading.

Moonlight Mirage: A Cook Island Romance a five-star dream of a read. I was so excited to see this author had a new series as I had been a huge fan of the Grey Ghost series, and I loved this one. It has the same fast pace, a story that doesn’t let up until the absolute last page, the characters that will keep you on your toes and will make you fall so deep in love with them. Nadia is such a complex character, she has secrets and knows will ruin her happiness, but sometimes you need to risk it. Cade he just made me smile with his fearlessness and determination. Do not miss this story, even if you haven’t read anything by this author again give it a go as you will love it.

I loved reading the story The Bar Next Door (Barflies Book 1) by Katia Rose. It is a romantic comedy that pulled me in, and I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Monroe and Julien Valois. Monroe loves her job as a manager at a dive bar. She loves the customers and is trusted by her staff. She is hard-working, strong, and independent. Then a business sets to open next door that may bring an end to the bar and job she loves so much. Julien is ready to start his new business. He also believes that he can use the space next door better for his business, rather then the bar it is now. When Monroe and Julien meet there is a chemistry between them. They both don’t understand the pull that they have for one another. What will happen to the dive bar that Monroe is trying to save? The sparks fly in the room when Monroe and Julien are together. What does the future hold for them? Read this book to find out. This story had me smiling, laughing, and wondering what was going to happen next with Monroe and Julien. I grew to care about what happened to them and wanted them to find happiness. I also enjoyed the additional characters that are introduced and interact with the main characters. One of the characters is Monroe’s bestie and a favorite of mine to read about. Don’t miss out on a story that will hook you in from the beginning. The author does an amazing job writing a story that flows smoothly and in moments touches your heart. The romance will have the temperature in the room rising. Highly recommended reading.

This is a series I have loved from the beginning. If you havent read it yet, I highly suggest you do from the beginning to get the full effect of this series. These author’s write with heart and creativity like no other. In this story Detective Lindsey Boxer and her partners are on a case they need to solve before it blows up. I wont say to much so I don’t give anything away. This is full of page turning action and the twists and turns left me turning pages fast. I read this book in one sitting as it is that good. I highly recommend this book, you wont regret picking it up.

The story Summer Princess (Dark Fae Book 1) by Sloane Murphy is a paranormal/dark fantasy book. It is a story that had me hooked from the start and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the last page. It is a story that includes secrets, betrayal, and family ties. I enjoyed reading about the character of Emilia Daarke. She is a young woman who has fallen for the wrong person and finds herself being manipulated into a deadly game. Emilia is headstrong and independent. Will she be able to save the one that she loves? Cade Vasara is still in love with Emelia. He finds himself having to choose between his love for her and his duties. What does the future hold for Emilia and Cade? Read this book to find out. This story has some dark themes and very emotional moments. There are heartbreaking moments that left me angry with what was happening and also feeling for Emilia and what she is having to go through. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and I was always wondering what was going to happen or be revealed next. This is a story that you don’t want to miss out on. Highly recommended reading.

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I will be looking for more from her. This is an enemies to lovers story that pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me turning pages to the last. The characters are strong, connectable that made you feel part of the story. Monroe is the manager at Monroes and has a big heart and then there is Julien who is steamy with a determination to push Monroe’s out of business. The problem becomes is they never expected to meet and feel an attraction to each other which ups the steaks a little bit. What will happen when reality hits for them? They have such great chemistry together, I found myself wanting them to find their HEA. I highly recommend reading their story to find out what happens.

I enjoyed this book. It is a dark fantasy story that has a lot happening but it kept me turning pages just to see what will happen next with the characters. This story is written in such a way that you can picture the vivid details of the story. This is a well developed story with creative characters that are strong and connectable. Emilia has fallen in love but the problem is she can’t have him. Her father has other plans for her that puts her in a game that if she loses, she could lose those she loves. Cade is torn between duty and the one person he has loved. This story is full of secrets, betrayal and love which made it really easy to read. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens with Emilia and Cade.
This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It is a creative, well written story that has characters that made you feel part of the story. The characters are creative, engaging and connectable. The twists and turns they take you on left me turning pages fast just waiting to see what would happen next. A private investigator gets their first solo job which they thought would be just a regular paternity case until it proved otherwise. Things are turning upside down but just how crazy things will get you will just have to read this book to find out. I highly recommend this story, you won’t regret picking it up.
