Was not sure what to expect from my first book from this author but I am so glad I picked this book up. I’ll start with the writing flow which grabbed me from page one and literally would not let go, the storyline was completely unique and had me completely invested also in the first page. The emotions I experienced while reading this were totally unexpected and there was at least once where I didn’t even realize I had tears running down my face.
The synopsis intrigued me, the cover grabbed me, but the end result was me thinking about this story long after I finished. This author has earned a new fan and I know I’ll be reading this book again more than once in the future. I’ve already recommended to a couple people and truly hope they take the same chance I did because it was awesome!

The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul Remembers is the first book I have read by Stuart Ledwith. The manner in which it is written is unlike anything I have ever read. At first I thought it was really weird and awkward, but eventually I got into the flow of it, and really enjoyed the book. It is written in a biography style, but described as Sarah’s soul communicating her voice and feelings to the author. It was written in the early 2000s, but the story takes place in the 1700s. Sarah and her brothers were Puritans kidnapped by Mohawk Indians as children. Her brothers were adopted into Mohawk families, but Sarah was not. She tells her story of her capture and the years following. It is quite the story, starting off first as a stolen child, turned slave. Then falling in love with her captor, and serving as healer to the same tribe that took her from her family. The narration is one of a kind, and very intriguing. I don’t know if its a true story, but it certainly seems like it could be.

This was a new author for me and so I really didn’t know what to expect when I sat down with The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul Remembers. I figured this would be a book that was somewhat haunting and sad and that is what I got plus some. In this we follow Sarah Tarbell as she develops and deals with very difficult situations that most would never even be able to imagine let alone survive. I loved how this was told through her eyes and we saw the deepest and darkest thoughts as much as we saw the hope and fervor to survive and overcome. It was a great escape for a weekend afternoon read and I was impressed with the writing as much as the story line. I will definitely be around for more from Stuart Ledwith and look forward to seeing what else is available from him while I wait for more new.

I didn’t know what to expect when diving into this book. I’m normally really picky when it comes to historical novels but I COMPLETELY fell in love. You can’t help but fall in love with Sarah even though part of you is absolutely pained by the experiences she goes through. She teaches you that you can adapt and overcome any situation if you can put your mind to it. I also like reading about her husband, who in a way, saved her. This is one of those books that not only pulls you into a roller coaster ride of emotions but its one that will stick with you long after reading the last page. I cannot recommend this book enough!!!

This was a moving and emotional story. Definately one you need your tissues for. It is set in a time that we can’t even imagine living in so even though some of their views and traditions seems strange to us it is believable that at that time they were normal.
This is the story of Sarah Tarbell and about how the abduction of her and her brothers by Mohawks. If follows Sarah as she deals with her life and the changes that she needs to make and learn to fit in with these people.
The characters are well written and the scenes so descriptive you can actually imagine being there and going through these experiences as they happen.

The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell As Her Soul Remembers By Stuart Ledwith ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a short full length novel. Packed with history, romance and living in the unknown.
Sarah Tarbell along with her younger brothers were kidnapped. Everything they knew changed. Right down to her brothers being adopted and her being sold. This is a walk through of what she remembers. Her life, her kidnap and the struggles she fought. I will not give you more. Only to say if you like Historical Romance, this is a book for you.
While Stuart Ledwith, is a new author for me, he was very much liked. This story is well written and easy to follow. I enjoyed the history as well as the romance. Sarah is one strong child, who became an adult in this story. Stuart Ledwith’s description of events, made me feel like I was there. I also loved the other characters, as they fit their parts well. I really enjoyed this story, and I will be looking for more from Stuart Ledwith. Job Well Done!

Witty as these characters’ sense of humor captivates the reader. Great world building as we see England in its heyday. Entertaining with what they have going around one another from the Duke almost drowning to how the family acts around him playing with and on his lapse of memory. Romantic because you can tell she’s getting a little too close to the pot if you catch my drift. The characters are wonderful in the most unexpected ways and their romance gets steamy as the story gets underway. This is a funny book that has a lot of quirks. I love these characters’ chemistry as they build from dislike to like to love as usual but there’s something about this one. It’s easy to read and understand but quite the page turner with the way it unveils. This book is worth my 5 star rating for all of the above and more!

I loved reading the book A Duke Never Forgets (The Duke Hunters Club Book 3) by Bianca Blythe. It is a historical romance that pulled me in from the beginning and I was hooked. I loved reading about the characters of Sebastian, the Duke of Sandridge and Genevieve. I love historical romances and this book is a wonderful example of why. It takes you to another time period and in this case throws in romance and a case of amnesia. The situations that occur are at times humorous and at others touching. The story is written in such a way that I found myself feeling like I was right there with the characters. There are secondary characters that have their part to play in the story and I enjoyed reading about them as well. Don’t miss out on a book that will have you swept up in another time and place. I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. I would highly recommend reading it.

This story was a tough one for me to read, because of all the emotions I had while reading. This is a story about Sarah and her abduction. Sarah tells a tail of her life. I do not think I could ever fall in love with someone who took me away from my family. Stuart Ledwith did an amazing job with his character building. I felt like I was Sarah Tarbell by the end of the story. The picture he painted, especially with his attention to detail was a vivid one. Can someone who is abducted ever feel safe? Can they feel love? Do they miss their family? I highly recommend this emotional roller coaster ride of a book. Make sure you have a kleenex box and comfy blanket because you may not be able to put the book down.

The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul Remembers by Stuart Ledwith is an interesting historical chronicle focusing on the life of a puritan teenager abducted by the Mohawk Indians in the early 1700’s. We follow her emotive journey of strength and survival- learning much about her, and the time, as experienced by her. This is an original story, told in an interesting way. Sarah had a difficult life- full of fear, danger, and the unfamiliar. But amongst it all is a story of strength and survival, of faith and hope, compassion and learning, and most of all- a story of love. This book has a bit of a documentary feel to it- but also woven with real emotion. It is a thought-provoking read that had me appreciating the strength it took to survive under those circumstances.

I love historical fiction and was intrigued by the premise of this book. I was immediately pulled into the story and invested into finding out what happened to Sarah and her brothers. I’ve always been fascinated with this era and thought the author did a great job with the details to move the story along and engage the reader. All in all a fascinating story. This is a shorter historical romance story that I enjoyed from beginning to end. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. This is a well written story that has characters that brought the story to life. I had no issues connecting with them. They were developed with a lot of heart and soul. This is Sebastain and Geneviere’s story. Sebastian has been looking forward to his vacation at the cottage until he gets there and it has already been rented to Geneviere which he cannot stand. After a swimming accident, he doesn’t know who he is so she conveniently tells him that they are married. Will he remember who he is? If he does, what will happen when he realizes that they are not married but yet she is someone he despises. I enjoyed their chemistry together. I also enjoyed watching them grow throughout the story which made the story easy to read. This was a great rainy afternoon read and I highly recommend it.

The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul Remembers by Stuart Ledwith is an imaginative and well told story about a young girl in a time so different to what we know now. This book was detailed and complex and, for me, utterly riveting. The life and story that we get to know in this book was so different to anything I have experienced and yet at the same time I could picture it all as if I were right there with Sarah. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I am absolutely blown away by his story telling. I thought the whole book was so well put together and it left me wanting more at the end. This is the kind of book that I could have kept on reading. This book was so emotional as well, as you imagine everything she had to go through, and all from such a young age. This book was beautifully written and one of my favourite reads of this year. I would highly recommend everyone pick this book up today.

I was pulled in from the beginning and couldn’t stop till the end. This is my first read by this author and holy cow my emotions were all over the place . Get ready to follow Sarah on her journey afterward being abducted. I don’t want to give to much away. I highly recommend this book.

The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell by Stuart Ledwith is a compelling read that will stay with you long after you have read it. Be sure to have tissues at hand because it will wreck you emotionally. It is fast paced and a short read, but it definitely packs a punch. The story is about a young woman who has a harrowing and gruelling time after her abduction in the early 1700’s and captivity by Indians. She was also sold on and lived to tell her tale of a life she never dreamed about. The way Stuart tells her story you can feel everything that she goes through as if you were the one experiencing it.
It is just like the saying, sometimes “the truth is stranger than fiction”. Not a story to be missed.

This is a great story and one that you need to pick up, along with a pack of tissues, I started this and finished it in one sitting, wondering when it was over what happened. I would have given it a five-star rating, but it lost a couple of points along the way, but overall, very well written and plotted. The characters were rounded well done and will have you believing in them.

This is the first book I’ve read by Ledwith and I’ve got to say be ready for tissues. Ledwith knows how to capture your attention from the first line and let’s you go at the end.
This story follows Sarah Tarbell through her abduction and that of her brothers. They travel long and far to be brought to another territory. What will happen to the three of them?
Sarah tells her story through Ledwith and it’s very captivating. Sarah recalls what happens to her and it’s an emotional ride. She doesn’t think her God talks anymore, but she learns soon that she can do it on her own. The quote I choose for Sarah is: “I must go from here as I came here. I will not love another man, ever, mark my words. If ever you find you want me, just call out my name and I will answer you.”
I highly recommend this for anyone who loves a good book. A very emotional ride, but one you’ll appreciate. The things you learn and read is hard to accept when it’s never happened to you.

This book was heartbreaking from the first sentence to the last. Following her journey was harrowing to say the least. You can never believe how, I wouldn’t say, “bad” (or better off you are in your life) someone else’s life until you’ve heard someone else’s experience. This is such the case with this book. This book shook me to the core but also showed that there is some compassion with the way that Sarah’s husband saved her in a way. When you take this view through Sarah’s soul’s eye, you’ll realize it was unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before from her abduction through Quebec to Canada, her story of love in a losing situation, but protected by a nunship to later become a healer but it taught her life lessons and experiences her soul just can’t shake. Reading her story, your soul will thank you as you learn to be grateful for the life you have no matter your background. This one grips you through the good and the bad of this story but with hope for a future in just a glimpse into Sarah’s life in this journey called life.

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. The characters took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions from some laughter to sadness. I had no problems connecting with the characters and they made the story easy to read. A Gentleman’s Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon Book 4) by Jean Wilde. I’ve just recently gotten more into historical fiction and this one has definitely pulled me in even more. This author wrote characters that drew me into their world. The back and forth between the characters was great and had me hooked. Each character brings something unique to the storyline and they are relatable making easy to be lost in the pages. It’s a well thought out and well written story that has a nice pace. I’m excited to see where this author takes readers next. I’m giving this story a four star review and highly recommend it.

5 Star A Gentleman’s Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon Book 4) by Jean Wilde is a historical romance that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down till the end. Historical Romance is one of my favorite genres and this Author has done an amazing job. I felt like I was right there with them. Although this can be read as a standalone I do recommend reading this series. Lady Victoria and Blake ,she needs a husband and he has no need for a wife. What will happen when these two are put in a situation where date could change everything? These two have a love hate relationship that seems to work well for them and I loved bantering back and forth between them. Find out what happens next in this must read.i can’t wait to read more from this Author.

This is a historical romance book. I have found that historical romance stories are intriguing. Jean Wilde grabbed me at the beginning with her characters. They are fully developed and I could see the characters in my mind’s eye. The plot line kept me wanting to know what else was going to happen. Being that this is historical romance, it takes a minute to think back how things may have been. Lady Gibert is looking for a husband. Blake Halle, who comes from wealth, is being told he needs a wife. Will Blake Hall and Lady Gilbert start a relationship or will it fall to pieces before it begins? I recommend reading this book to find out the answers to this question.

A Gentleman’s Stipulation is the fourth book in Jean Wilde’s The Scarlet Salon series. It is my first encounter with the writer and her writing I was lucky that the story can be read as a standalone as it is number four in the series! I tend to keep to my ‘usual suspects’ when it comes to historical romance and it is not very often that I pick up a new writer and I am happy I picked up A Gentleman’s Stipulation. It was an intriguing and engaging romance that pulled me in from the beginning. A Gentleman’s Stipulation gives us Lady Victoria Gilbert and her family secrets and Blake Hall, the son of a nouveau rich mill tycoon. On surface they have nothing together so you can start picturing already now what a ride the writer is taking us on with those two! She gives us some pretty scandalous scenes that were quite refreshing to read in an historical romance… add to this authentic historical details and you have something every historical romance lover can cherish! After finishing book four, I went back and read the blurbs to the first three and I think that I need to deepen my acquaintance with Ms Wilde and The Scarlet Salon further!

A Gentleman’s Stipulation by Jean Wilde is the fourth book in The Scarlet Salon series. I am a sucker for a good romance book, and I was surprised to find one in this historical romance book. I was pleasantly surprised at how great this book was, it was so good I read it in an afternoon. Lady Victoria Gilbert and Blake Hall meet at Victoria’s cousin’s wedding. Though there are initial sparks between them, they quickly get on each other’s bad sides. Convinced they will never see each other again, they just try to get through the wedding festivities. Victoria goes to London to try to find a husband and ends up staying at Blake’s estate. Though Victoria may be looking for a husband, Blake isn’t interested in finding a wife. During a card party, they are found in a rather compromising position. They must work through it together and learn to get along. I loved watching their complicated relationship waiver from lovers to enemies.

A Gentleman’s Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon Book 4) by Jean Wilde. I loved this book. I read it one sitting and once you start you will want to do the same. Its the story of Lady Victoria Gilbert who is older than most debutantes because of a horrible mistake during her first coming. A rumor was spread because she made a friend mad and it ruined her chance to find a husband so she is desperate to find one now. She longs for a husband and children. Blake Hall is a new rick son of a Mill Tycoon and has been spurned in the love department because he wasn’t good enough. He has sworn off women especially debutantes until he meets Lady Victoria. Her sharp tongue makes him so confused…does he want to smack her or kiss her. After their first meeting knowing nothing will come of their relationship they banter back and forth until family and friends find them in a compromising position. Blake saves her and hatches a plan to save her reputation by saying they are engaged. Feelings get involved while they are spending time together and there is a lot more at stake than a reputation.
