Game of Fear – A gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist (Fearless Series) by Gledé Browne Kabongo – Review by Lyndsey Fairley

Game of FearGame of Fear by Glede Browne Kabongo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is not in my normal age group range for characters (high school). I just feel i don’t relate or they’re acting older than they should but this had a nice balance so it held me to the story.
Abbie is destined to go far but someone is trying to blackmail her for the one wrong thing she ever did. I kind of figured it out early on but wasn’t 100% sure until closer to the end.
Will read more from this author as it seems with the sneak peak at the end the story continues on for Abbie in college and another mystery.

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas #5) by Kadie Scott – Review by Jenni Bishop

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas, #5)Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Landing the Lawman (The Hills of Texas Book 5) by Kadie Scott is another enticing story in the series. It is a sweet and funny tale that is sexy and endearing characters that you can’t help but fall in love. Each book has been about all the siblings and has focused on the sons but this story is about the only daughter, Carter. Kadie is a must read author.

Carter is sassy and strong, opinionated and definitely not shy. She knows what she wants and isn’t ashamed to go after it but there is one man who she finally realises she loves but he is not a relationship man.

Logan is a workaholic and does not do relationships with woman and not so much with people in general. But there is one temptation that is slowly getting under his skin.

I highly recommend grabbing a copy and enjoying the ride.

Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash, #2)Sky to Sea by Amanda Marin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sky to Sea by Amanda Marin is the is the second book in the Crimson Sash series. This series does need to be read in order to fully understand what is happening.
It had been a while since I had read book one but I found it really easy to pick up from where it left off. I soon found myself immersed back into the characters and their stories.
This book was well paced and exciting. You really have to feel for Neve and Micah. They really thought they had found the place for them to be safe and happy and instead they find themselves mixed up in more turmoil.
The author has done a great job with the continuation of this series and I can wait to see what comes next.

I also enjoyed the various settings and felt they were described well. This was such an exciting read. I highly recommend it.

Lillie (Maggie Trilogy Series Book 3) by Mya O’Malley – Review by Jana Teppih

Lillie (Maggie Trilogy Series Book 3)Lillie by Mya O’Malley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lillie is the grand finale of Mya O’Malley’s Maggie Trilogy and what a finale it is! If you love paranormal suspense and love stories than congratulations, you have hit the jackpot AND you absolutely need to read the series in order as the previous books have been building up to it all!
The journey we have been on with Naomi has been an interesting one, she has been through a lot and Lillie really tests her and she realises what her destiny is. Naomi can see and hear spirits that come to her for help so that they could have some sort of disclosure. In Lillie Naomi has married Bryce and she has hoped to have some time to find her normal and enjoy her married life and get to settle into her role as a stepmother to Holly.
The writer takes us on a rollercoaster ride that she has thrown in couple of crazy twists and developments and I truly hope that there will be a spin-off as she hints at when wrapping up the trilogy as I love the paranormal genre and her writing style!

Covert Threat (Gray Ghost #5)Covert Threat by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Covert Threat is the fifth book in the series Gray Ghost Novels by Amy McKinley. Ms. McKinley is an amazing author who brings her story to life. Her characters in her story are amazing and keep you engaged throughout the entire story. This story has some romance in with the action/mystery all rolled into one book. One reason I enjoy McKinley, as a reader I want to be apart of the story and not on the side lines. This story is about Trev, a former Navy Seal, and Jules a workaholic who needs some protection. Trev is assigned to protect Jules because of threats made against her. Will Trev be able to protect Jules? Will Trev and Jules end up being a couple? Only reading this story will you find out about these details. .

The Istanbul Conspiracy (Code Raven #7) by Lynda Filler – Review by Sarah Oakes

The Istanbul Conspiracy (Code Raven #7)The Istanbul Conspiracy by Lynda Filler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great read about weddings. Tensions run high and danger lurks when the daughter of the Minister of Defense and her new groom are found murdered. All Luke and Samaar want to do is get married on a yacht in Instanbul. But life seems to have other ideas in store for them when a security breach puts their plans on hold. With these targets on new couples, the team of the Raven Group race to find the culprits before they strike again. Can they find out the truth before it’s too late?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Luke determined but loving underneath or Samaar standing up for herself but vulnerable underneath.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the scenery of a Istanbul or Turkey with its seas and beaches for sense of peace and tranquility, but also foreboding bad tidings.
The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of the story and was easy to follow with names in the chapter titles. I also liked the use of suspense with small details revealed slowly to make you keep reading to find out who’s behind it and why they’re attacking weddings. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

“Sometimes good girls do very bad things”, and good girl Abbie Cooper may have done something very bad indeed. Abbie has always been an overachiever especially academically and her goal is to get into the Ivy League, Princeton. However at her current school, St. Matthew’s Academy the pressure is immense and is also full of wicked games and dirty secrets.
One day Abbie receives a package from ‘The Avenger’, the package contains photos exposing Abbie’s worst and hidden secret, this not only puts her chances of attaining her goal of Princeton in jeopardy but also puts the life’s of her family at risk too. The Avenger, says her secret will be kept but for a price, and Abbie must play the game to find out who the Avenger is, if he exists at all. All Abbie knows is that someone knows her secret and is out to ruin her.
I was hooked from page one until the last page, however I did find the book a bit slow to start with but once I got into the story I found it flowed well. I enjoyed this suspenseful thriller and found it was full of twists and turns which kept me guessing until the end and it’s shocking conclusion. The novel is part of a series and I look forward to reading further books by Glede Browne Kabongo.

Rebound (Rewind #4)Rebound by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rebound by Rowan Shaw is the fourth book in the Rewind series. This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the series or at least the second book Return first. There are characters which reoccur and having the background is helpful. The characters are very well written and they tell a story which could be battered and treated poorly with love and respect. There are polyamorous relationships and they are told wonderfully and explained from all parts of the relationship. Rowan Shaw makes the characters easy to relate to which leaves you wanting the best for all parties. I really enjoyed this book as well as the others in the series.

The Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytalesThe Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytales by Byrd Nash
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a great collection of short fairytale stories where the heroes are the females in the stories. There is a little bit of everything in this book from talking animals to castles. You will find a favorite among them for sure. The author’s attention to detail made me feel as if I was in the ballrooms and castles with the characters. The characters are a little different but they are engaging and make the stories what they are. My favorite thing about this book is how the females in the stories are the heros are the ones saving themselves and others. They are strong women and you don’t always see that in stories. I highly recommend this collection, you won’t regret picking it up, I didn’t.

I loved this book. This is not a new author for me but she continues to impress me with her stories that pull me in from the beginning and this one is no different. It is a well developed, emotional roller coaster of a story that has something for everyone including romance. The characters made the story pop as well as they are connectable and make the story engaging. This is a story of family ties that need healing, remorse, betrayal and so much more. Holly has a life threatening illness that sends her home. There is one woman that Levi hasn’t been able to forget and now temptation is pulling at him. They are great characters and I highly recommend their story.

This is a well developed story with attention to details that make you feel as if you are part of the story. The characters made the story feel real plus they are connectable and have great chemistry. Carter has it all but has one problem, she is a little lonely and the only man in her life is Logan. Lillie (Maggie Trilogy Series Book 3) by Mya O’Malley – Review by Erin Wolf

Lillie (Maggie Trilogy Series Book 3)Lillie by Mya O’Malley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Lillie (Maggie Trilogy Series Book 3) by Mya O’Malley, 4 stars.
*This review may contain spoilers of previous books in series.*

Maggie is now married to the love of her life and adores her step daughter. She is happy in this house and home they have made together. But part of her misses her ghosts. Be careful what you wish for. Enter Lillie, a Holly’s new friend, and a little girl bent of making Lillie’s life a living hell. Why is she doing this? Can Maggie help and save the wonderful life she now has?

I’ve enjoyed this series and this book is a great addition to it. Maggie is yet again up against supernatural things that are out of her control. There are many surprises along the way to keep you guessing and you will not want to put the book down until you are finished. This book wraps up the series nicely, although I’m not completely sure I agree wholly with the way it’s wrapped up. That of course is just my opinion.

The characters are well written and the story is great from the very beginning. I highly recommend reading this book and this series to anyone who likes a good ghost story and a mystery or several to solve.

Ink’s Devil (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #5) by Manda Mellett. I flipping love this series! The stories all have amazing characters and I want to join a biker’s club now! This book is the story of Ink a member of the Satan’s Devil’s motorcycle club. He has a reputation that precedes him so everyone knows he doesn’t do relationships. Beth is a blue haired, insecure, smart lady. She knows Ink’s reputation but she is so attracted to him. They meet at a wedding and think that they can both handle it just being a one night stand but once they are with each other they can’t stop thinking about them. When Beth’s estranged brother puts them in a horrible situation and Ink takes the rap for Beth she realizes she must mean something to him. Can they get Ink out of the trouble she caused or will she lose him forever. Ink still doesn’t know why he took the rap for her, she’s a regular person and he can’t bring her into his world but maybe she is already in that world. Each one of these books I read I think is my favorite but they are all so amazing. Do yourself a favor and read this book!

Lillie (Maggie Trilogy Series Book 3) by Mya O’Malley – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Lillie (Maggie Trilogy Series Book 3)Lillie by Mya O’Malley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lillie is the third and final book in Mya O’Malley’s Maggie Trilogy. This series has gripped me from start to finish – so much so that I started reading Lillie within a day of finishing Naomi.
The series’ protagonist, Naomi, is particularly sensitive to ghosts and throughout the series has helped a number of them avenge their deaths and find peace. Naomi has had her abilities since she was a child, something which is brought to the forefront in this book when her supposed imaginary friend returns to her life. When Lillie’s mischief threatens to tear Naomi’s new family apart, Naomi has to figure out what exactly it is the ghost needs to be able to move on.
Like the others, this book is a real page-turner. Again, I couldn’t put it down and had to read it in one sitting. It’s short enough to keep my attention, but packed full of story. Lillie takes us further back in time than the previous books, while also giving Naomi a glimpse of what lies in her, Holly and Bryce’s future. It’s got history, mystery, tragedy, romance and so much more.
For me, this is a five-star book. It’s definitely worth reading the series as a whole – the other books are also fantastic and the stories very much lead on from each other. I’d recommend it to fans of ghost stories and murder mysteries.

BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan Book #3) by Pamela DuMond – Review by Tausha Treadway

BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan, #3)BELOVED by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan Book #3) by Pamela DuMond. This is the 3rd book in this series and its such a good series! Its about Evie, a 21st Century Courtesan who has 4 billionaires after her in more ways than one. A Courtesan is a high priced escort that can read people and try to fix what’s wrong with them. There is Easton Wolfe who is taking over ownership of the Ma Maison Agency that Evie works for. Then there is Dylan McAlister who wants to take the next step in their relationship. Wyatt is Easton’s brother and sibling rivalry is always a thing and he is trying to steal Evie’s heart. Then there is the “Devoted Fan” who we are still left trying to figure out who he is and does he really want Evie dead? Evie is such a complex character and I’ve grown to really care about her during this series. Will she choose love, lust or will what she chooses kill her? Evie and Wyatt have always had a connection and I’m rooting for them. I recommend reading this series in order to better understand the characters! Excellent read!

I loved reading the book Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas Book 5) by Kadie Scott. It is a western romance book that pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself not able to put it down. I loved reading about the character of Carter Hill and Logan Cartez. Carter is a strong, intelligent, and independent woman. She does, however, feel the loneliness seeing her brothers who are happily married. Logan is a man who doesn’t do relationships and puts his career first. He doesn’t have time for commitments as he puts all his passion into his work. There is an attraction between Carter and Logan. They both feel it. One-night changes things. What does the future hold for Carter and Logan? Will Logan take a chance with Carter? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down with the characters. I grew to care about Carter and Logan and wanted them to find happiness. I have read other books in this series and I enjoyed that the characters from the previous books are brought forward into this one. There is plenty of romance in this book that will make the temperature in the room rise. This is a story that warms the heart and I loved the close feeling of family that characters show. Don’t miss out on an amazing book that will not let you go until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

Lillie (Maggie Trilogy book 3) by May O’Malley is a 5 star read.
Naomi is now happily married to Bryce and living with him and his daughter Holly, she still has her connection to the spirits so when Holly mentions an imaginary friend called Lillie it reminds Naomi of the angry spirit of a little girl she knew as a child, when it begins to look like it’s the same child Naomi knows she must figure out what this ghost wants before it costs her more than she’s willing to lose.
It’s been a few years since I read the first 2 books in this trilogy and I’m really glad I took the time to finally finish it, the author is a great storyteller, her characters are well thought out and really kept my attention on the pages in front of me.

The only real problem with this book was that it was impossible to put down! Great to be absorbed by a wonderful story, not so good when you’re supposed to be sleeping! I had to know how the story unravelled and was very pleased with the results.

Contemporary romance author, Kadie Scott, grew up consuming books and exploring the world through her writing. She attempted to find a practical career related to her favorite pastime by earning a degree in English Rhetoric (Technical Writing). However, she swiftly discovered that writing without imagination is not nearly as fun as writing with it. No matter the genre, she loves to write feisty heroines, sexy heroes who deserve them, and a cast of lovable characters to surround them (and maybe get their own stories). Kadie currently resides in Austin, Texas, with her own personal hero (and she married that guy!) and their two children, who are growing up way too fast.

The story of Ink and Beth – I didn’t see it coming and couldn’t have predicted how it would be play out. But boy was it worth the journey! It stands well on its own but the universe Mellett has created is one worthy of reading in its entirety in order to fully appreciate the family she has put together. Loved every page!!

Nash has created a world of Fae that will make you feel like you are apart of that world. Her characters are complex and could very well be part of your world. In this story Bridget is a Fae and is very bull headed and Logan, who is human not sure what is going on due to his magical abilities that he did not know he had. I found myself so engrossed in the story that I could not put it down. I enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to read the next book. Thank you Byrd Nash for this new series.

Ink’s Devil, chapter #5 in the Satan’s Devils MC Colorado series by Manda Mellett, is the perfect balance of romance and suspense. This story had me turning page after page, cover to cover. Just when I thought I knew how the story would go, the author would switch it up and go in a completely different direction. I loved reading the relationship of Beth and Ink play out, they seemed so different yet complemented each other perfectly. One of the many reasons I enjoy reading MC books is for the feeling of brotherhood among the club, and this book did not disappoint. Reading how a band of brothers stood behind Ink, and even Beth, in their time of need was truly inspiring.

THE RUNAROUND: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy (CAROLINA CONNECTIONS BOOK 6) By SYLVIE STEWART – Review by Michelle Mulvey

The Runaround (Carolina Connections #6)The Runaround by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book from page one. You always know within the first 2 chapters in your going to love or hate the book. I should’ve known before I started reading that I was going to love it. Sylvie Stewart has had me hooked from the first book I’ve read of hers. I can add this to my list of faves by her.

Jax finds out he has a daughter but she isn’t a young little girl. She’s a teenager! How do you expect a teenage girl to react finding out she has a dad whom she has never met before. Jax keeps trying but, Lola wants nothing to do with him.

Jax reaches out to Ari who he knows thru mutual friends. Ari has an awesome voice and becomes Lola’s voice teacher. Jax knows getting Ari involved could be risky because there is a lot of sexual tension between them. Ari worked on creating a website for Jax last year and it was a miracle he got thru it without throwing her down.

Ari and Jax try to be friends but they both imagine more happening between them. What will happen when they slip up and give into temptation? Will it be a one time thing like Jax is used to or will he not be able to get enough. How will Lola react? Will Lola ever see Jax as her dad or will she always have the teenage attitude? I felt bad for Jax throughout the book because he tried hard to get to know Lola but she blamed him for not being around even though he had no idea about her until that phone call from her mom.

I look forward to more books by this author. I love her work. You don’t want to skip by this great read. Grab your copy today.
