A great read about consequences. Dagda is the all father of Celtic mythology who has broken all the rules. To protect his family and legacy, Dagda has been wiping his daughter Katels memories for years. But when a young boy named Brant enters her life, strange things start to happen. As events unravel, Katel rediscovers her memories and finds a legacy she didn’t know she had as danger approaches. Can she stand up to her father and make him see the consequences before it’s too late? A great read. Well developed put with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Katel standing up for herself but also vulnerable and unsure. Great cast of supporting characters like the wise Gwen or the supportive Freya or the manipulative Dagda. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the green forest with its tall trees and herbs and flowers and spirits for a sense of a fairy tale forest full of magic and wonder and beauty. I also loved the contrast in the forest later on with the use of blacks and greys for a sense of destruction wonderfully written. I also loved the use of the weather throughout with the deep dark clouds for a sense of foreboding and pathetic fallacy with colours getting darker throughout was a lovely touch. Or with the visions with their sounds and smells and sights so vivid its as if you’re actually there. A great example of world building with fantastic beings with their own rules and laws and societies living alongside humanity. I loved the use of Celtic and Norse mythology given the respect they deserve and true to their origins, wonderfully written. The only issue I would raise is that I would have liked a list and pronunciations of the names of the Celtic gods and creatures to help the reader follow things more easily. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

From the First page of this, I was hooked. I’ve always loved time travel stories, and this one was no exception, if anything it set the bar higher for any other time travel books I’ll read after this one. I loved the amount of detail and attention that was put into this book. From all the different characters and the different worlds and how it built up and all intertwined. Often times with books with several characters it’s hard to keep up, but this one I didn’t struggle hardly at all, and the handy guide in the beginning was also very helpful. I recommend this 100% to anyone who loves a detailed story, time travel, and sci fi/fantasy. I am anxiously anticipating the next book! 5 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book as it is yet again another great read from this author. I could really relate to the author’s characters and found her writing to be quite refreshing. The way in which she used the character’s grief process and brought them together really made for a realistic and enjoyable read.
I can really relate to Connor and how he was adjusting in his grief for the loss of his mother as I too have lost my mom in recent times. I like how the relationship between him and Mary Ann progresses. The chemistry between the two is electrifying and their shared grief of past losses is just the bit that makes their bond stronger. I also like that they are both cat people as again I can relate and that their cats both like one another two. I really enjoy this author’s books and I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

Second Chance: The Conclusion of the Flowers in December Trilogy by Jane Suen Four Stars
Second Chance is the last book in the Flowers in December Trilogy and the book I have been waiting for. I have enjoyed the whole series but this book really tied things up. This book could be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend this series in order. Conner and Mary Ann’s story was sweet and just what I needed after the holidays. Jane Suen does a great job with the short HEA stories that make you feel good reading. I look forward to seeing what she has in store for us next. Review by @sunbarn

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery is a book I picked up with slight hesitation – there are loads of body positivity books and self-help books out there and I was wondering what would be the difference … what would be the purpose of picking up another one that would end up collecting dust (well, digital dust in this case) … BUT I was wrong, it is actually an interactive book that will start you on a journey IF you are open to it and why wouldn’t you? You have nothing to lose … so I took the first step and started with the journaling and already the first journaling assignment was like a kick in my stomach … it was debilitating to realize where we come from and how long we have been on that destructive path … and even when I thought that I have come a long way, there is still such a long way to go … I will be working with this book for the rest of the year like the writer hopes that we would do, as she says it is not a quick journey or change of mind set, it takes time and it takes unconditional love … I also loved the song list, I have added all those songs to my playlist AND I started my journaling in a digital journal so that I can always have an access to the entries as it lives on the cloud … Thank you Krista Lynne Montgomery for giving us a book that goes beyond the self-help industry handbooks!

5 Star BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan Book #3) by Pamela DuMond Beloved is the third Book in the 21st Century Courtesan Series and by far my favorite. I’ve truly loved this whole series and I highly recommend if you haven’t already read the first two books I would. As it will give you a better understanding of what is going on and gives you insight to the characters. This is a wonderfully written story that I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t stop reading till the end. O had my moments where I felt like I was on a emotional rollercoaster ride but it didn’t last long. This is a bit dark but I loved it just the same. This is the story about Evie and her last four clients , all of which seem to want the same thing her love .one even wants her to take her own life. What does her future look like? What happens with her “ Devoted Fan”? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

5 Star The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery This is something that I have struggled with my entire life and I even got to the point where I just simply didn’t care. I didn’t care what other people thought, if they wanted to stare or even talk . But come to find out the weight I was putting on was due to severe heart problems. Needless to say now I do care. It’s a fight every single day to make sure I’m staying on track and eating super clean and healthy as I can. Love Yourself no matter what. I loved this book and came away with a whole new attitude. So thank you for that. I needed a reminder and I definitely got. This is one of those books I’m going to read over and over again. I’m actually buying it for my daughter as well. I’ve already started on doing the journal. I can’t simply recommend this book or this author enough.

Second Chance is the Conclusion of the Flowers in December trilogy by Jane Suen. All 3 books are short and sweet. I’m glad for the wrap up and happy ending for Connor and Mary Ann. Connor has been struggling since his mother passed away, trying to find his place in the world. He was left with her house and her cat, and memories, which caused a lot of internal struggle for him. We go into this final book knowing of his crush on Mary Ann, and her struggle with her feelings. Connor thinks he ruined his chances when he went back to the city, and is debating if he should fight to win her back. This was my favorite book in the series, because I could see both characters mature and be strong. Set aside a weekend, cuddle up with a blanket and tea, and knock out the whole series.

Lillie is the 3rd and final book in the paranormal, thriller series by Mya O’Malley. This finale to the series was even more thrilling than the first 2 books in the series. Like the others, the author pulls you right into the story from the very beginning and does not let you go until she spits you out, wondering what the hell happened to you, at the very end. The ghost in this book is Lillie, a ghost who plagued Naomi as a child and who has now come back to make her life hell. To make it even worse, Lillie is working through Naomi’s step daughter Holly, adding strain to Naomi and Bryce’s new marriage. I have given this book 5 stars as the book is very well written and the storyline is thrilling and really grabs you and pulls you in. However, I do have one little niggling thing that kind of annoyed me. We are told many times that Naomi and Bryce are madly in love and are soul mates but I really didn’t get that from many of the interactions between them. I know this was a paranormal book but I would have expected a bit more romance from a newlywed couple who are madly in love with one another. All in all though, Lillie is a fantastic book and an amazing conclusion to a series which I loved and would definitely recommend to others.

Set It Free is the third book in the Fallen Eagles MC series. In order to enjoy this story to the fullest, you should read the first two books.
This story has a little bit of a different feel that the first two. I found that it was harder to get into it, but once I got toward the middle it was good. I can identify somewhat with Spring’s feelings about not being great at life, always waiting for the next shoe to drop. I think that made this story more emotional for me. You’ll definitely want the tissues handy.
There isn’t too much more I can say without ruining the reading experience. This series is definitely worth binge reading.

Naomi was a great sequel to Maggie! All the thriller elements were there, along with more mystery. I couldn’t put this one down, much like I couldn’t put the first down! Mya O’Malley is able to weave this fictional story in such a way, it seems real! It feels like you’re right there in the pages standing with Naomi herself while she battles these ghosts. I highly recommend not just this book but this series, and I can’t wait to read the third installment of this trilogy!

Second Chance is the third and final book in Jane Suen’s Flowers in December trilogy. The previous book, Coming Home, saw Connor giving up on the city life that he’d worked so hard for in favour for a healthier, happier life for himself and his cat Tom. Mary Ann struggled to get over Connor when she thought he’d moved back to the city for good and now needs to decide whether to give him a second chance. This is a warm book that’s easy to enjoy. At times cliché – a chance encounter in the grocery store followed by a snowstorm that forces them to spend time together – but enjoyable nonetheless. There are misunderstandings that the characters need to overcome and over the course of the book they learn to communicate with each other. It was nice to see Alana and her mother, Mrs Rainer together and see how their relationship has continued to develop after the end of the previous book. Mrs Rainer is one of my favourite characters in this series and is a reassuring presence in the story and Connor’s life. For me, this is a four star book. A comforting read for a winters evening. It’s definitely worth reading the trilogy in order – the books aren’t very long and it’s good to see the characters and their relationships develop over time.

This is a on the edge of your seat story. This involves a couple different weddings that are put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances. That starts a whole bunch of action and drama that continues out the story. These characters are strong and the story is fast paced.
This isn’t my first book by this author. I liked seeing these characters again. It’s great seeing them progressing with their lives.

After reading the other books in this trilogy I have been waiting to get my hands on the final instalment and I wasn’t disappointed at all! I absolutely love the characters and have enjoyed following their lives. I think this has to be my favourite from the set; I love Connor and everything that he has been through. He is genuinely a lovely character and I definitely wouldn’t complain if I had a Connor in my life! As with the other books this might be a short story but it’s definitely not short on the detail! I was engaged form beginning to end and I 100% recommend it! I love Ms Suen’s writing style, she always engages me and I find her books a pleasure to read. Second Chance could be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading them in order – you won’t be disappointed! I look forward to reading more from Ms Suen again in the future!

Set it Free is the third book in the Fallen Eagles MC series by T. Birmingham. This is another really well done romantic suspense- with plenty of emotion that had me reaching for the tissues. Even though this is the third book in the series, and technically could read it as a stand alone- but, I really recommend reading the other two books in the series first as this story includes/refers to things that occurred in the other book- so knowing what happened in those two books will help you better understand and appreciate this story. There is quite a lot happening here, deep issues, tormented characters, and so much angsty emotion- but as usual Ms. Birmingham orchestrates it all beautifully. It has quite a complex storyline which has been cleverly crafted into quite a captivating story. This is definitely a character driven storyline and I was fully invested in these interesting, likeable and fully developed individuals. The story has a great pace and is a quick and easy read. Bring on Book #4!

You can’t deny that this author can write a story. This is the seventh book in this series and it didn’t disappoint. I really liked how this story was put together. It was fast paced and thrilling. You are on a never ending ride of mystery and danger. You will be on the edge of your seat. The conspiracy that is being plotted can not happen but it will take everything Raven has. These stories are better read in order because they are building up to some thing at least I get that vibe from the story. I don’t understand why people choose weddings to attack at. I would be so upset if someone ruined my day. I would be on a kill mission. The main characters are a group of secret agents. Each character is unique and interesting. They grow and thrive throughout the story. I really enjoyed the details the author put into the story. There is no way you couldn’t enjoy this story. The author gives you so much emotion and real life that you feel it like you were standing right there.

Naomi is the second book in the Maggie Trilogy by Mya O’Malley. This series should be read in order to get the full back story. That being said, this book was truly amazing. Naomi is such a strong character, with a big heart. This book grabbed my attention from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. I love how we learn stuff from Maggie and Ryan. Bryce is amazing to accept the unusual circumstances in his relationship with Naomi. If you Love Ghost Stories this series is a perfect fit. I can’t wait to read the third book in this series.
I enjoyed this book. It’s a quick, easy read with loveable characters and fun plot twists. I didn’t have to concentrate to hard to follow the story but it definitely wasn’t boring. If you like shifter stories, you’ll enjoy this one as well! Solid job. 4 stars.

I love a good fake to real fiance/partner story!!! I loved this one as there were so many raw and real feelings. Oh man, the feels! Fiona may have started off for me as a meh type character but she quickly evolved into one that I loved reading about while she got her happily ever after. This was an awesome, emotional, entertaining, and steamy read.

Beloved is the third book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. This series must be read in order to get a full understanding of past and present events.
Evie’s first love from when she was a teenager comes back into her life and everything might be changing. It’s more than just the first boy its also his brother who just bought the company she works for and her boyfriend who is ready for the next step in their relationship but is it for the right reasons. And let’s not forget about “The Devoted Fan” writing letters throughout the book, but the last letter has me wanting the final book ASAP.
Pamela’s writing is so good between all the “bedroom” times and the heartbreaking moments, my feelings were all over the place.

This was such a sweet romantic second chance book. I loved how the story went back in time at points so that we could understand Mary Ann better and even Connor’s relationship with his mother. Kermode: Legends Series book 2 by Maggie Adams is a 4 star read. Noah Stark is 6ft 6, a computer genius and also a bear shifter, some people around him think he’s a little crazy and he does nothing to dispute that when he first meets Piper Sweet. Piper Sweet runs a bakery and cafe that used to belong to her grandparents and one morning she finds bear paw prints outside her shop and starts to panic, but things are about to change for Piper and Noah has a lot to do with it. This author is new to me and I really liked her style of writing, the characters were well written and I look forward to reading the stories of the other characters.

The Fat Girls Guide to loving your body by K.L. Montgomery is a great story that contains one-part humor, one-part journal, one-part recipe for self-love. Mix it all together, and you’ll come out the other side with a greater appreciation for both what’s on the outside AND what’s on the inside.
I have to say I was always skinny until I had my first child 29 years ago and I have had a problem with my weight ever since. I also have medical issues that seem to stop me from losing the weight especially when the doctors prescribe meds that make you gain weight So, this book really hit it dead on even if I didn’t care about body-shamers. I loved how the author talks to you as a friend and helps you with body positive knowledge that knocked it out of the ball-park.
This was a great book and I simply enjoy reading Ms. Montgomery’s work and look forward to more of her books….

Second Chance by Jane Suen a five-star read that will bring flowers to your life. This is the third and concluding novel in the Flowers in December Trilogy, they could maybe be read as stand-alone, but I have read them as a series and so enjoyed them that way, as this is like the cake topper, its so lovely on its own, but as a whole it just brings the whole thing up. The emotions you will see in this story are so strong that they are palpable, you can almost taste the emotion. This is a compelling story and shows us what a truly amazing writer Jane Suen is.

I have been enamored with these books since I read the first one. They are full of Action and thrills! I love watching these two (Jake and Cody) work together. Their interaction provides me many hours of enjoyment. I love this whole series and highly recommend.

Another wonderful story by Manda Mellett! These characters are evolving with every book she writes. This one Involves Ink and we met Beth in the last book. She is friends with Mel. Beth is a shy girl who is unusually tall for a female. She has found ways to cope hence the blue hair. She knows what she wants and goes after him. Then something happens and she is not sure her relationship with Ink will ever be the same.
This is enjoyable and easily kept my interest. The story took me on a few ups and downs and is very unsuspecting. I love it when stuff surprises me and this story did it. As usual I love these stories and I can’t wait for the next one. Not sure who it will be about….maybe Lizard or Mace?
Also I want to say I love this cover! It goes perfectly with this story!

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body By K.L. Montgomery. This book completely captured my heart. I’ve always had body issues and this book just felt written just for me. Now I’m a person who tends to not love myself or my body and this book really spoke some hard facts. I’d agree with some of the reviews out there, this book is for everyone no matter what your body type is or the reasons you don’t like about yourself. This book is an inspirational journey. I’m already a fan of this author and while it’s a bit different from previous works it’s just as amazing. I can see the thought put into this project and I appreciate the effort that was made because it’s truly incredible. If I could give more stars I would but I’ll give five of the biggest stars I can find.

This is such a great series, really well written, clever, and completely absorbing. You can’t go wrong with a Mark Nolan novel and with this bundle you get three books for the price of one. Brilliant!
BOOK #1: 5 Stars
Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie is a riveting novel by Mark Nolan. Mr. Nolan has produced a truly gripping and action packed, suspenseful thriller. This exciting book has so much going on within its pages that I was bowled over, in a very good way! It contains drama, suspense, a bit of mystery, police investigation procedures, crime/criminal activities, military tactics/terminology and flashbacks, news and photo journalism references, secret organisations, sexy women, vile villains- and so much more. It is quite a long book, but it is so engrossing, I was completely wrapped up in the story; only putting it down to take care of my ‘real life’ responsibilities- and even then, I couldn’t stop thinking about the story and anticipating what would happen next. Jake Wolfe is a military veteran who is currently working as a photo journalist for a local news channel. He was following a lead on a potential story that had him ‘tailing’ a well-known lawyer, in the hope of digging up some ‘dirt’ on him. The lawyer has driven to an exclusive golf club, where Jake is witness to the lawyers’ murder, capturing the whole thing on camera and in the process he gets an image of the killer on film. The killer who is known as ‘The Artist’ doesn’t like to leave loose ends and when he realises he has been seen, he is determined to kill Jake, “the only good witness is a dead witness”. So ensues a ‘game of cat and mouse’, the killer is hell bent on tracking down Jake and silencing him, permanently! He has a kill list to work through- it’s made up of several lawyers who have been chosen to die. He takes pride in his work and wants to make the kills creative, artistic and memorable. The annoying journalist has just made it onto the list and is going to die very painfully. With the help of his best friend Terrell Hayes, a plain clothes Police Inspector in the homicide division of the San Francisco Police Department- Jake investigates and reports on the killings, while also trying to stay alive. His military training, his dog Cody and a bit of Irish luck, are the only things that stand between him and the killer. But the killer is meticulous, well planned and always seems to be able to evade capture. When you add an abusive and unhinged ex-fiancée, with a drinking problem and a penchant for snorting drugs; a sociopathic police Officer who uses their badge to bully, who can’t stand the sight of Jake and has a score to settle with him; a secret organisation with its own agenda; and an ex-military service dog with canine P.T.S.D- you find the story just ignites into an adrenaline inducing journey, full of unexpected twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat, devouring every word with bated breath. From the conceptualization, to the skilled execution in recounting his story, Mr. Nolan has managed to incorporate quite a lot into this book; such a lot of dynamic, individual and fully developed characters and plenty of action- and this is only a portion of what this exceptional storyteller has been able to capture on the pages. He has accomplished all this in his own, unique style- producing a story that flows smoothly and seamlessly from one page to the next and captivating you from the first paragraph. I wouldn’t change a thing about this book; I loved it all so much! It is a truly remarkable story and I wholeheartedly recommend reading it, you won’t be disappointed.
Book #2: 5 Stars
Vigilante Assassin is the superb second addition to the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. It is a very memorable, gripping and suspenseful read. This is a multidimensional story- with lots of action, drama, intensity and danger. We once again team up with former marine Jake Wolfe and follow his lead, as this incredible story plays out. It is set a little over a month since the last story left off. Jake is no longer working at the news channel as a photojournalist- he isn’t completely sure what he wants to do now. He has something in the pipeline, but needs to wait to see if it will pan out. He is living on his friend’s boat, with his canine companion, Cody. Lauren Stephens wakes to discover her husband is missing- with no trace of him to be found. Jake gets hired to try to find her husband Gene- but what he and Cody discover leads them down a dangerous and complicated path, full of intensely dangerous situations, all while they try to figure it all out. Lauren may not have known her husband as well as she thought she did and now she and her children are in grave danger. Jake may be a magnet for trouble, but he is also incredibly protective, especially of women, children and animals. So, he will do everything he can to protect them and keep her and the children out of danger. This is a fast paced and exciting read with lots of twists and surprising developments. This is such an absorbing read, I ended up reading it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down, I really need to know how the whole story played out! The story is told from several (third person) POV’s, which adds an extra dynamic to the whole story. The characters are so great- they are completely developed, fully realised characters with their own quirks, flaws and unique personalities. I especially loved how detailed and developed Cody’s (the dog) personality was- it’s this attention to detail that really sets this book apart from others in the same genre!
Book #3: 5 Stars
Killer Lawyer is the latest addition to the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. It is an incredibly clever, intense, gripping and suspenseful read. This has a complex, multi-layered storyline- with lots of action, drama, intrigue, humour, danger, tension, and mystery. We once again team up with former marine Jake Wolfe and follow his lead, as all the excitement unfolds. Jake has earned his law degree, and has also been recruited to undertake dangerous, covert assignments on behalf of the government. His constant companion- trusty, highly intelligent, and loyal ex-war dog, Cody, live on a motor yacht owned by a wealthy friend. When a deranged killer starts killing random targets on the streets on San Francisco, Jake and Cody are determined to hunt him down and eliminate the threat. But what happens when the killer decides to target Jake, Cody and all the people they love most in the world? This book really is worth the read to find out all the exciting details for yourself. It is a fast paced story with lots of twists and surprising developments. This is such an absorbing read, I ended up reading it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down, I really need to know how the whole story played out! The story is told from multiple POV’s ( even Cody the dog gets a say), which gives a well-rounded perspective of the developments, and adds an extra dynamic to the whole story.
So, if you are looking for a story with a gripping, well written, interesting, and very absorbing read- then this is definitely the series for you! The next book/s can’t come soon enough for me!
